The Trireme-Class Command Ship has been paid on the last legs of the budget. The Van Luxemburgian Marine managed to press the construction of a luxurious command ship with the Tweede Kamer shortly before budget cuts were announced. The 10 Trireme-Class ships have all been scheduled for 2006 by the huge Courbusier Navale wharfs near Montpellier, Brest, Port Grimaud, Antwerp and Rotterdam, each able to produce 1-3 ships at a time. The first three ships, built by Courbusier Rotterdam, have been delivered in early May 2006, and are the commanding ships over the first three fleets, stationed at Rotterdam, Murmansk and Gibraltar. The Trireme-class has extensive sea-going capability, aswell as the capability to defend itself from light attacks, with it’s two Goalkeeper CIWS, aswell as a small 12-cell VLS, which has been hidden under a sliding panel in the sundeck on the aft of the ship. Only highly-experienced and trustful crew has been placed on the ships, to avoid misuse of the ships, which have costed around $2 billion each, with an annual upkeep cost of an estimated 10%, or $200 Million US Dollars. However, the ship has extensive entertainment possibilities, such as a swimming pool and jacuzzi, aswell as several huge plasma televisions and lounge bars. The dining room is luxuriously clothed, and is neighboured by a salon, in which the crew can wait for the starter dish to be served. Eating is done in shifts, preventing the overcrowding of the dining & salon rooms. The ship includes several tenders, aswell as four highly expensive jetski’s/waverunners. They will be used for quick and untrackable messaging to other minor ships, while the supplied Eurocopter EC-155B1 (Dauphin) will perform flights to major ships like aircraft carriers or LPD’s. Other RIB’s are supplied to perform entering tasks, or, if needed, landing capability.
The Trireme is expected to be in service for quite a while, certainly when looking at the enormous upkeep costs, aswell as build cost.
PRICE: $2 Billion US Dollar
UPKEEP: $200 Million US Dollar/Year

OOC Note: This is ofcourse not an idea from the VL Government. The Admirals just wanted a ship to relax on, which has been, by chance, promoted to Command ship. You really didn't think those waverunners are gonna be used for what they were accounted for? 10 of these will be built for the VL Marine, while limited sales apply to foreign nations. The Trireme is mainly based off the Superyacht Turama.
