~Where are they?~ the ship, Hegemony’s Liberty fretted, as the craft hung in the void of space. The craft was large, the war with Roania had left the Hegemony with several ship classes outdated. Of these, the Factory Craft was one, a large craft almost 30km in length, each of its construction bays where a Kilometer in size. There where 12 on each side of the ship, which was designed like a smoothed box.

But it was obsolete. To large to be of any use, and the Empire had questioned its loyalty. The Mind inside the ship considered, the question of its loyalty would be justified, the craft had turned coat, intending to assist the Divine Imperium.

The ships then arrived, the AI core inside that ship instantly opened a channel with the craft.

:Their delay will be long enough for us to move.

:Then let’s get moving.

:Agree…wait, their coming!

Space around the craft began to open, as the four ships where surrounded by the moving squares moving, revealing the powerful forms of the Imperial Hegemony Warships entered the Gulch. A moment later, the AM-Displacers let loose, along with the EM-Disruptors. The force here numbered almost 23 Craft, and the Roanian Craft where quickly overwhelmed.

Then, they began to fire on the Factory Craft. The ship struck back, sheer amount of power crippling one of the Hegemony craft, which broke apart, but the others overwhelmed the ship, cutting holes into the craft as gouts into the craft, Holes slicing through the machine. Its slipstream was destroyed, and its weapon systems. Within moments, the ship looked dead. The ships halted their fire, looking at the wreck of a craft. Sensors showed no power signed, the Ship was dead.

The craft soon left the Gulch, and the 4 hulks drifted. However, in one of them, the Drones began to Stir.

The Mind awoke. It was once again aware, the ship was…active. Instantly it ran a check of its systems. It was in bad shape, only the STL Engines where working, it studied the surroundings, the Roanian craft had been picked apart to serve the repairs. They where only temporary though. The ship thought of an action plan and decided.

It would Go to Rudan. It had a quick check of its Mind Status in the Hegemony. It was still able to access the Internal Network. It considered it for a moment, how would the Hegemony be so foolish at to not disconnect it? It considered, the Hegemony fleet probably thought it dead, and figured deleting it wasn’t worth the effort. As it turned on its engines, it did some calculations as to how long it would take. With the damage to its engines, and its other systems…it could make the run to Rudan in…163 Years…damn it thought as its engines flared to life.

The ship continued, but now, it was no longer silent.

The flag hung limply from its pole at the system defence post on Rudan5. There was no atmosphere, no one to see, no one to care. But the Legionnaires posted at this rocky, icy world still rose the flag at 'dawn' each 'day', and lowered it at 'evening' each 'night'. It was a lonely, quiet posting. But a vital one, as they would be the first to fight and die in defence of the Lord-Emperor's person.

The communication caught them unalarmed, and the Knight-Captain present found himself faced with a dilemma. On the one hand, this was an unknown vessel. On the other hand, it didn't seem to be actively hostile. The Roanians considered this in their own unusual way, and eventually sent out an exploratory team.

The recon vessel SHIDM TAKE PRIDE OF THE LIGHT'S SWORD AND IN THE MERCY OF THE LORD-EMPEROR stopped at the coordinates of the ship and sent out their own hail, demanding the unknown vessel halt and identify itself or be 'destroyed'.

The ship began to slow, it was a long task, it calculated to slow from the years of acceleration would take...2.26.74.3438 Minutes It silently cursed its postion, it wasn't happy such a mundane task would take so long. But it began slowing.

:We might have some difficulty there, as you can see from my condition, I am not in the best of condition. So its going to take 2.26.74.3438 Minutes for me to stop.

Now, please, can I be connected to someone I can speak to? I have matters that need to be discussed. I believe the Hegemony is going to be moving in a short time, and we need to prepare.

The Light's Sword darted around the far larger vessel while its officers debated amongst themselves. Finally, a tightbeam transmission was sent out questioning if the the Hope of Liberty's computer system could perhaps be uploaded into another object, thus allowing the ship to be destroyed.

Edmund Hyazinth leafed through the reports that sat on his temporary desk. Behind him, workmen repainted his new office and fixed around the portraits, replacing the insignia of the Black Dynasty with that of the incoming Drakharns. The comm next to him rang, and he answered.

The new Minister for the Armed Forces swore after the report was made, and he rose to his feet, calling to his secretary that if she didn't have a ship waiting for him at the starport he'd throw her into the sea.
