The goblins (http://img-fan.theonering.net/rolozo/images/janssen/Angband01.jpg) had organized themselves into a small camp. They knew nothing of this land, only that they had been driven out of the Dank Wetlands by the lizardmen, and had trekked for weeks to reach this....this...middle of no where.
Still, scouts had found the area had a few small towns, full of simple humans. They felt that they could wipe out the area and move on. They were lightly armoured, most just possessing a spear or sword and some tattered leather scraps of armour.
But that was not all of them.
20 of them were armoured quite well, and had Sokuv steeds as well. These elites (http://img-fan.theonering.net/rolozo/images/sotomayor/Wolf_raider.jpg) would lead the attack, and be the point of the spear.

OOC; To quote the advisor in the game Tropico, "It will be done, El Presidente!"
IC:
King Sev scoffed. "Goblins?"
The advisor said, while bowing, "Yes. Goblins. Threatening Genos."
"Can the militia defeat them?"
"No."
"Then I want an army over there. Standard configuration."
"Yes, sir."
In Ancient Pythogrian terms, "standard configuration" for a small army meant 12 Imperial Infantry units, 6 Imperial Archers units, 6 Imperial Cavalry units, and one General's Guard. The General's Guard was 40 men. All other units had 60 men.
This army marched towards the town of Genos, to combat the goblin threat.

Scouts had seen a human knight patroling the area, searching for something. The bandit gang knew they couldn't let the humans figure out where their camp was. One of the more crafty goblins climbed atop a hill and took aim. (http://www.hdrhq.de/images/hdrhq_content/units/moriabogenschuetze.jpg) Looking for the gap in the armour between the chestplate and the helmet he held his bow nice and tight.
After locking on mentally, he let go, the arrow almost going right through his neck. After making a small victory cry, 20 of the goblins went to fetch the body. After ripping it apart piece by piece, the Sokuv riders went and caught the horse. The pieces were put in one of the horse's bags, and sent back with a note:
Stayz away oz we gets ta killz mo!

The army did that. They marched in whole units, searching everywhere for the Goblin scum.

The bandit camp would be hard to find indeed, hollowed into a hill and extended a bit underground. Still, the goblins weren't taking any chances. An ambush was planned, all 20 of the elites had hidden in the woods nearby the road. The rest of the band hid behind them.
The elites had planned to run out and skirmish abit. After a few of their number died, they would run into the woods. The humans would follow, and be skewered alive by the less....disciplined troops.

The Wandering Holy Man, Julio, led his men, half of the thousand members of the Aesonic Church who were fit to fight, through the woods. The scouts he had sent ahead had reported a group of goblins massacring some other man. Leaving half of his army to defend the camp, he had taken the other half to route out the goblins, if he could.
OOC: Tell me if that's too much and I'll reduce it. Basically, the Aesonic Church was cast out of their homes on pain of death, so there's a whole lot of them wandering about.

A small of mercenaries traveled along the road. They saw what looked like a battle about to commence. "Orders?" one of them asked James, their leader. "Hold position, but send out some scouts to watch the battle and find any survivors of the losing side. IF there are any, we'll offer them our aid." The men did as they were told.

The mecenary scouts reported that the goblins were fleeing and that another, larger group was chasing them. "Move out!" James yelled as he rode off. The other four hundred mercenaries followed. James was trying to intercept the other group in hopes of at least meeting them and gathering more information on the small conflict. He was not worried about the group becoming hostile. To say his men were well trained was an understatement.

12 Imperial Infantry units dan 6 Imperial Archers units along with a generals guard were quite loud in the woods. Over 200 hundred men crunching sticks, shifting their armour, and scaring the wildlife could not go unnoticied...and it didn't.
The hunters, now hearing a much larger force, slowly made their way back to the camp. The Stukov's could smell the men, and the elites knew they were there. The foot soldiers, all of them, had now gathered and had begun to shiver. If they stayed here....they would die. The elites gave the order. They would travel even farther North, and then cut back onto the road, catching the troops from behind. The footsoldiers would do the same, but go south. Silently, and very very softly they crept in different directions.

After what appeared to be an hour, they simply stopped. Before them was the most dead wood they had ever seen. Dry branches, leaves, and bark littered the ground. It wasm too much for their small brains.
After a quick construction, they had organized the dry brush into a large pile. They quickly and gleefully created a firebow, and sent the pile ablaze!

After a quick construction, they had organized the dry brush into a large pile. They quickly and gleefully created a firebow, and sent the pile ablaze!
In a dark alley somewhere in the center of Ustovits, a cloaked, slouching figure squeezed through a crack in the wall. He emerged in a small dank room, lit up by several torches about the room. A strange writing was drawn on the ground in a circle, and in the center, a tentacled monster was roughly drawn. Another man stood aside, staring at the symbols.
"Master," the slouvhing figure gasped, "goblins have defiled the dead forest!"
Master stood silent.
"Master! We have hidden for long enough. We should take this chance! A goblin army would be the perfect beginning for the rebirth of the Order!"
"You are right, ryla'i,"
The slouching man figited. His master was too quick to agree.
"You are right. The time has come. You have been loyal, ryla'i, it is time for your reward. You shall now witness the ancient power of our gods. Step into the circle."
The slouching man hesitated.
"DO IT!!"
The man's eyes glazed over, and he unquestioningly moved in. He had a moment of extreme fear, and then he could feel the long, twisted dagger enter his stomach through his back.
"You insolent fool, you should know the gods long ago made a pact with the goblins. My necromancy cannot touch them. The humans however, will make excellent soldiers. Now go, and spread the message of the gods!"
He pulled the dagger out of the dead man's back and made a long cut along is abdomen. The man's intestines spilled out, pooling on the floor. They began to writhe with a life of their own. The thing was a blasphemy against nature.
The mass began dragging itself along the floor, and spilled through the crack in the wall out into the alley. A nearby rat began screaming horrifically. The thing reacted immediately, rushing along the ground and forcing its body into the rats mouth. The rat gasped for breath, but choked on the monster. As the twisting thing dissapeared into the body of the rat, the rat collapsed. For a few minutes it did not move, then it twitched several times, jumped up, and scurried into the sewer.
OOC: lol. sorry if its a bit over the top. it seemed like everyone was against the goblins, so I'd like this to occur in one of the human cities (probably pythogria, as he seems to be the only one who actually lives here), if its okay. OC: lol, that's gonna have to do. I guess ill just RP Ostovits myself. its a city with a decent but not large population, and a rather small army, much of which is deployed on various scouting missions.
Several people gasped as Sevrin, chief advisor to King Ostov III, tripped on his robe and slammed his face into the stone steps leading to Ustovits' throne room. Blood spilled out of his nose onto the floor and onto his ornate robe. He couldn't stop. He fell through the throne room doors and gasped: "Sire, there's some kind of rebellion. A gigantic peasant mob is approaching the royal residence!!"
"What?! You must be mistaken! Ostovits is the most peaceful city of all the greater kingdoms!"
A faded tapestry suddenly emited a unearthly voice somehow both powerful and sickly. "He is not mistaken, king, your people are attacking your palace."
A tall cloaked figure emerged. The advisor Sevrin tried to scream, but found himself frozen.
"Alhazred!" shouted the King, "You were killed! How-"
"Be quiet. Your kingdom is dead, king, and is now my Kingdom."
Alhazred seemed to tremble with anger. Sevrin could feel tortorous horror the king felt, but the man's head suddenly darted around toward the chief advisor. He tried to look away, but his vission seemed to focus of its own volitoin on Alhazred's eyes. Such hatred in those blood-shot monstrosities! Sevrin's brain became hell itself! His whole body felt as if all his blood was boiling. It had to end! He ran wildly toward a wall and slammed his head into it twice, breaking it open the second time. He slid to the floor, dead.
The King couldn't feel his body, his vission narrowed until he could only hear, over and over again:
"Cthulhu fhtagn! The elder gods demand your service."
OOC: I'm not certain of everyone's location, so please correct me. This is meant to be nearby.

"What's taking martin? I had better go check on the boy."
The man stepped out of his humble farmhouse.
"What is that stench?" he mumbled to himself. He stumbled through the dark for several minutes. The smell was getting stronger; it was almost unbearable now. He thought he saw the shape of a boy on the ground and ran toward it.
"Oh!" he managed. The boys body was terribly mutilated. Across his bare chest were several deep scratches-what appeared to be claw marks, the end of his left arm was missing entirely. The man, struggling not to vomit, looked around in fear. He discerned several figures in the dark.
"Who are you!? What have you done!?"
They were silent. They began moving slowly toward him. He now noticed many more now. They were everywhere. He heard a scream from the direction of his house, but he could not bring himself to move. He smelled the stench worse than ever; he could not stand to breathe. He felt a hot, moist breath on his back and jerked around in panic. The moon just barely illuminated the source of the stench: a grotesque face; a hidiously mocking grin and wide eyes filled with madness, all topped with a crown. He had a moment to contemplate his life and then the monster's bloody teeth clamped down on his nose, and began to tear away at him.
On the nearby coast a small landing boat came ashore. In it were several men with grey skin and dark armor painted with the emblem of the Eye of Dorae. One man steped out and blew a large twisted horn towards the sea where a fleet of ships sat in wait. While the sound still echoed against the rocks many large landing ships, loaded with esclot warriors, started moving towards the shore. The man with the horn stepped back into his ship, wispering to the man seated next to him.
"And so it begins."
"What exactly is begining sir?" the man inquired.
"The great defense our ancient allies. The Goblin Horde is reforming, and with that so must the Trine Allience be reformed. We will join the Goblins and the Zombies in our mutual defense."
The landing boats came ashore and out marched the terrible and renouned esclot warriors. (http://www.thehorrordome.com/HDSHOPPINGPROPS/MorrisCostumes/VA727MOLTENLG.jpg)
occ: picture them with legs and no horns
occ: Esclot are creatures native to the volcano island of Dorae. Many scientists do not credit them with the title of life form because they do not reproduce but are rather created, like diamonds, by the intense temperature and pressure in the depths of Dorae's volcano, Ignimons. Because they are nitrogen based their intellegence is limited. Esclot are very docile untill ordered by their masters the Doraens. They feed off the nitrogen in the ashes of other life and to a lesser extent the nirogen in the air. Esclot can only be destroyed by removing their iron core or starving them of nitrogen. The iron core is reletively vunerable, only protected by the esclots hard ash like skin and the intense heat of its inards.
