The Imperial Supreme Court of the Secular Empire today agreed to hear the arguement of Tuan Jabbis, a disabled man who claims his Charter of Law rights have been violated.
Tuan Jabbis claims he was unable to enter a café on 928th Avenue in Ratavia, a city in the province of Hamburgh, and says it is a blatent violation of his Charter of Law right. The owner, Jae Cazzell claims he would have to spend thousands of Secular Empire Dollars to make his establishment handicapped accessible and that it would not be worth the money because it wouldn't increase his business.
Tuan Jabbis shot back by saying that by making his establishment handicapped accessible he would have the continuous revenue of Mr. Jabbis. He also pointed out that Ratavia has the highest population of physically handicapped people in the province, and that the publicity his café has gotten may increase his business if he were to make it handicapped accessible.
The Imperial Supreme Court is scheduled to hear the case at 2:00N SMT. Judges Altha Millberg, and Kristofer Lassetter will hear the case.
[OOC: Here is the actual text of the Charter of Law that Mr. Jabbis' is talking about:
"Section. V
All public establishments must, under the law, provide ways for the physically disabled to enter. All public establishments are required to have at least one wheelchair accessible ramp, every establishment also must provide handicapped accessible doors. Also, all public establishments must have handicapped accessible bathrooms if there are bathrooms for the general public in said establishment."]
[OOC: Okay so we'll need two judges, two lawyers, Mr. Cazzell, and I'll be Mr. Jabbis. Anyone else can join as something else, too.]
