Riyabuo elected Highest Minister!
The National Renewal Party scores Highest Minister victory in polls...threatens to do so in Chambers and Council Elections as well...
New Christendom, Jagada - In close to forty years, the people of Jagada had never experianced and election. Since the days of Hunter Norris, whom was in fact the last Highest Minister and the first Emperor of Jagada, the country which has called itself the most moderate, tolerant, peace-loving religious theocratic nation in existance--was ruled by a series of tyrants. Jagada was ruled by Hunter Norris for a period of five years, but most of their was scarred by the War Against Norris. This began following a major Liberal Party victory in the Chambers and Council elections which effectively put Hunter Norris' own party, the Moral Party, in a bad position for the position of Highest Minister. Hunter Norris quickly declared the Council and Chamber elections to be a fraud and dissolved both Houses. This was followed by a series of violent riots across the nation. As shown below:

These riots caused millions of dollars in damage, but due to quick response by riot police and even a group of military paratroopers the situtation was contained--with only the city of Inn which was also Old Jagada's industrial heartland to suffer the most damage. These riots prompted many people in Norris' administration to resign out of fear of assassination. Following these resignations, various operating organs of the government--including postal services, public transportation, and various other elements walked off the job and refused to return as long as Norris was in office. This lead to a complete breakdown of most of the government. Fearing a coup by the Secret Police, known as the 'Eye' in Jagada, Hunter Norris had the Miltiary, which had for centuries been devoutly loyal to the State regardless of what form it took, and he used the Military to the best of its abilities. Imposing martial law with the regular troops, raids and executions with the commando-like elements including the infamous Phantoms, and using the Special Forces to hunt down and almost completely exterminate the 'Eye' and all its agents and links and sources.
Though it wasn't long before even the Military began to reach its maximum capabilities. As losses mounted, civil war seemed immienant. Norris had captured a key player in this civil war and kept him locked up behind bars for many months this man was none other than Field Marshall Franco York--the military hero of the Commonwealth. York had shown sympathy for the rioters and secretly was working to remove Norris from office. Despite being locked up in a heavily guarded prison--York managed to escape. With the assistance of SAG (Society Against God) a terrorist organization allied with Remington Pierce. Once free, York pledged his alliegance to Pierce knowing that Remington planned on establishing an Empire from the ashes of the Commonwealth. With York's military mind and Remington's political and diplomatic skill. The tide of revolution spread across the nation and soon it was locked in a bitter war. Battles such as the Battle of Pax Topaz, Genisis, and Norman's Field, and of coarse the infamous Battle for Inn--all lead to major victories for York. Norris eventually proclaimed himself the be the Almighty God and assumed the title of Emperor--offically ending the Commonwealth. In the end Norris was defeated at the Battle for Inn and executed by York himself. Thus establishing the Imperium.
Though the Imperium had much to do. Remington began with social control, and worked his way down until democracy and republicanism were fully purged from the people. The last remnants of the fifteen tribes of Jagada was also purged, putting an offical end to thousands of years of tradition and culture. The Religious Imperium as it was called soon began a menace, popping off hostile remarks at relatively friendly nations--as it was Remington's goal to spark a war with someone. Remington found this when he ordered the colonization of the former colony of Esash--this brought the Religious Imperium into conflict with the Empire of the Second Golden Throne. The Military fought hard but in the end they were not able to hold back the tide of the Foreign Waffen SS--and the capital city of Woverton (as it is now called) was sacked by the Waffen SS. Though when they sacked the capital city, they discovered something horrid. Guarding the city was a group of super soldiers known as Fanatics. In labs across Jagada these soldiers were bred in absolute secrecy, where not even York was about to find. Hearing of the death of their comrade the Fanatics in Jagada went crazy. Though recent evidence as shown that a Kraven Agent, nicknamed Agent Roman, sparked the the Fanatical Revolution.
The Fanatical Civil War was horrific beyond words. They stormed the capital city, with only an army sized unit, and guarding the city was four armies of Crusaders. They utterly slaughtered the defenders and executed Remington in the spot. With the Emperor dead, the Religious Imperium crummbled and the Fanatics went about the process of cleansing the country of all those who did not follow their belief system--which was a mix of Christianity, Islam, and Judaism. Hundred of millions died in this--millions more died when Franco York survived an assassination attempt on himself. The remnants of the Crusaders rallied behind York. They fought the Fanatics across the country in a loosing battle before York began to use nuclear weapons--charring large sections of the country just to kill a handful of Fanatics. Eventually, seeing the folly of nuclear holocaust, York had a chemical spread by the FJA-'Teutonics' which made had a negative effect on the Fanatics and made them go blind--while it made the Crusaders see the world in only different shades of red. In chemical was thus called 'Bloody Blind Gas'. In the end York's forces managed to pull off a victory--and he established the Trinity Empire.
The Trinity Empire was doomed from the beginning when York ordered the Moslems in the country to be genocided following a violent riot by them over the title of the coutnry and Yorks insistance upon using the word 'Trinity'. In protest, dozens of Bhuddists burned themselves alive and the government didn't step in as it did in the past. York never engaged in war under the name of the Trinity Empire--wanting only to rebuild Jagada to make it stronger. York's passion for wanting to make Jagada the most powerful country in the world eventually boiled over to the point where he was willing to make a deal with the infamous Kraven Corporation.

Jagada had mixed feelings--some enjoyed Kravenism (as a large part of Jagada still does today) because it provides a moderate life style--albiet it has extremely strict laws and a horrible enviroment--it provides one thing the Jagite People never had--security. Though the part of Jagada disagreed and soon riots and protests occured. Jagada provided for the Kraven Corporation an astonishing thirteen million Capitol Police--most of which are still serving the Kraven Armies today. The High Command became suspicious when the Jagite Reichmarshals were hesistant to execute these protesters. Their paranoia boiled over when they found religious symbols and plans to try to take over the entire Kraven Corporation in York's personal housing. This led to Kraven declaring a War of Extermination against Jagada. The Kreigsmarines, former Crusaders, faught bitterly but in the end the country was exterminated with York being executed by the Capitol Police. A handful of Jagites survivors fled into the sea and found their way to the lands known as Neo-Jagada where they rebuilt under the iron fisted, greedy, rule of the Imperators.
Needless to say, after countless years, the situtation didn't improve and poverty rate was sitting at around 95%. That was until York supposedly came back from the dead, though many believed he escaped Jagada some other way and in his insanity raised a son to look just like him and had a special group of inidividuals set the whole ordeal up. York's last reign as Dark Lord of the Dark Empire of Jagada ended with a coup by Religious Extremists for York's anti-religious policies. York was killed and religious extremists took control over the country, but this was ended only two years later when a group of Alchemists from the Alchemic Society led their own coup, only weeks after that coup a group loyal to the ancient ideals of the Agadan Empire launched their own coup, and only days after that the White Coats ousted the Agadans and established the Monotheistic Republic.
This is where the Jagite People stand today--alone, without allies, and in an extremely unstable enviroment where a coup could occur at any moment. That was until the last election ended with the following results:
Riyabuo Kalia (NNP): 75.7%
Norman Ridder (LA): 19%
Josef Triden (GSJ): 5.3%
These elections signal hope for the new Republic--which following the same guidelines as the Religious Commonwealth, save more Christian in fashion. Riyabuo Kalia is also the first woman to ever hold the position of Highest Minister--though she won a land slide election. This shows a growing trend of positive attitude towards women and their abilities within Jagada--ever since the fall of the Commonwealth Jagite Woman have been treated as second-class citizens, not entitled to the save privilages of men, and unable to leave abusive marriages. Riyabuo, however and shocking, did not base her campaign on women's rights and says that it isn't a major concern of hers and will probably be deal with in the future by another female Highest Minister. For now she outlined her policies and how she hoped to bring Jagada out of the gutter.
Firstly, Highest Minister Riyabuo outlined her foreign policy--an extremely critical issue as in the past poor foreign policies have lead to great suffering and pain upon the people. Her foreign policy summed up in a brief statement was simply, 'Returning Jagada to its pacifist policies, and making friends with nations whom deserve it. Ending age old fueds and cutting off the dead weight'. She elaborated upon this policy by stating that Jagada would make a vast alignment shift, which would include Jagada ending its participation in the World Anti-Communist League, which some political experts feel will be one of the more negative moves of her administration. This also means leaving the WGADAHRC, which was extremely unpopular in Jagada when York joined it. The Highest Mininster feels that the WGADAHRC is simply too unrestrictive in his membership policies allowing excessively 'evil' countries to join--fouling up the entire club, she says. This also means ending the oldest fued in Jagite history. The infamous Macabee-Jagite fued, this is also expected to bring a decrease in popularity as Jagites blame the Fanatical Civil War on the Macabee conquest of Jagite colonies. Her plan also involves ending the Jagite-Killian fued, which acutally reached a boiling point when a rouge Jagite Admiral, by the name of Duma Trinari to launch an attack on HailandKill--which was ultimately beaten back due to poor tactics on behalf of the Admiral. This also means putting and end to the Jenrakian-Jagite feud, which includes her administrations attempt to regain the Jenrakian controlled city of Malaga--captured during the War of Jagite Extermination. Many feel this may lead to the ongoing war in which Jenrak, The Translyvania, Willink and various others are engaged in against a coalition of nations which have launched an invasion of Jenrak. In closing, she simply hopes to establish ties with some of the more peaceful nations such as Pacitalia and Sarzonia, and hopes to do this by having continued naval contracts with Sarzonia, and simply opening relations with Pacitalia.
In regards to her domestic policy--she is expected to recieve popularity increases. This includes ending the propaganda campaign started by Transitional President Rovnov which turned the people of Jagada into what she has called 'savage beasts' towards such nations as the Macabees, HailandKill, and Jenrak--though she is expected to continue the propaganda campaign against The Kraven Corporation--also another shady issue in her foreign policy. Though her goal is expected simply to be to bring equality--without the need of social welfare. This has included the continued establishment of religious rights, a key point in her election, along with the general dissolvement of the infamous, and rather brutal, Secretive Police and the reestablishment of the 'Eye' which was revived for a short time under York, but disbanded by Kraven. Her domestic policy in brief is three words: Rebuild, Reconstruct, and Reestablish. This implies that both her economic and domestic policies are intermixed--which is new as both have traditionally been very distinct in their goals by most Jagite leaders.
Her economic policy is a surprising one. Many socialists voted for Riyabuo despite the fact that she intends to allow corporations to rise, and to allow the ideal of Absolute Capitalism to take some roots in Jagada. While this has scared many seeing how it has effected the Macabees, and how it can really only be maintained fully by the point of the sword and the iron fist of the State--the Highest Minister has reminded the people that she is also a firm believer in Socio-Capitalism--which means that while all economic policies and practices are driven towards the growth of the wealth of the State, that this wealth would flow into the hands of the common man in the terms of public works and reconstruction. This economic policy is still shady and has mixed feelings in Jagada.
Various other issues include the Military Reformation, Corruption, Poverty, lack of infastructure and industry, and even the small Space Program started by York just before the Fundamentlist Coup. All are declared important issues, but not one she will immiedately crackdown upon--even though corruption and poverty and linked to her Domestic and Economic policies. Her goal, as she says, at the moment is simply to provide a sense of stability and to ensure fair voting at the Council and Chamber elections--due in a few months with her own party, the National Renewal Party, showing strong signs in the opinion polls.
Though as for now the fait of this New Republic is in the hands of a very untraditional leader with revolutionary ideals--though like in the past the Jagite People have declared that they will stand behind their government, be it for better or worse.
