The Golden Horde's Search For Diplomacy

Batu Khan sat with his wife, Anna in a yurt in the lands of the steppe. A guard came to him saying ''Vizier Chagatai (still researching, may change) requests a meeting.'' Batu allowed it and Chagatai came in, dressed in robes and wearing a Mongol style hat. ''Greetings be to you, Khan of the Ulus Jochi.'' Chagatai said, sitting down. ''Greetings to you, Vizier of the Ulus Jochi.'' Batu replied. ''Honorable Khan, I have a suggestion to make. It is known that diplomacy is valued by many nations. I would like to suggest us making diplomacy with the world's nations.'' Chagatai said. Batu talked to Anna and then replied ''It is a good idea. Have a notice drawn up.'' Chagatai replied and left the yurt. He then had a notice written:

''To all nations,
Our Khan, Batu would like to open diplomacy with the world. We hope you consider doing so as we look forward to diplomatic relations.''

"Sir, seems a new nation's popped up."

The Supreme General replied. "Well, are they genocidal? Nazis? Stalinists? Maniacs?"

The Chief Advisor told the General, "No. They're quite sensible."

"Then I want to send in a diplomat."

"Yes sir. It will be done."

Seeing that your nation has passed our "Reasonable Policy" checks (with flying colors, might I add), we would like to send Richard Geion, a diplomat, to your capital to negotiate friendly relations with the Golden Horde.

Please respond as soon as possible.

The Golden Horde is based on Batu Khan, the Mongol who fought in Russia. Genghis Khan's Empire is also an inspiration and I may have it part of the Empire. Also, Ghengis or Temujin's tactics could work, perhaps a mix of them with the German Blitzkrieg?

He will be very fine with that. He is en route via Carryall right now.

The Carryall passed through international airspace, sighting the Golden Horde.

The pilot told Richard, "Seems we're here."

I do know about Mongol history and I am still thinking on them being nomadic or not.

Message: I am the Dominion's head diplomatic offier and I would like to establish a formal diplomatic relationship with the Golden Horde. We will, if it is acceptable, send a man into your country to bring these relations to a start. Mr. Grey will arrive with a personal guard of three men. In the future we would be interested in pursuing an embassy and perhaps a formal allience with you.

Good day,

The Golden Horde, two days later, landing of Pudite diplomatic helicopter

The small, unarmed black helicopter set down on the hard earth of the nation of Ulus Jochi soon after the arrival of their counterpart from the nation of The Aeson. Landing a good two-hundred yards away, Mr. Grey hopped lightly onto the ground, quite surprising for his impressive six-foot frame, followed by three similarly large fully-protected soldiers in black and dark green polycarbonate armour and full-cover helmets with black visors.

The diplomatic group, without saying anything, advanced off the landing strip in perfect formation and waited for an official to guide them further.

To: Vizier Chagatai of the Ulus Jochi
From: Benedetto Marino,
Secretary of State of the Borderlands of Viviani

Most Grand Vizier:

On behalf of our President, Carlo LaRocca, and the people of Viviani, I would like to extend our humble greetings and welcome you to the community of nations. Our diplomatic staff bows in honor to your Great Khan, Batu.

We would like to establish diplomatic relations with your country, and we offer, in the attached refrigerated container, three sides of our finest beef, hand-selected by our Department of Agriculture for their taste and quality. They are a sample of the finest our humble country has to offer. We hope your Khan and his advisers will enjoy them.

If you please, contact us with arrangements on formalizing diplomatic relations between our two countries. Health and prosperity to your Great Khan and your noble people.
