OOC: Anyone can play the defenders so long as the island I'm attacking isn't their mainland...
IC:
The boats were in position. There was not only one fleet off the shore of this island, there were six. They were all gray but the one thing that distinguished them from all other ships was the CFF flag that was painted on each side. There were nearly two hundred carriers. Over all there were nearly three thousand five hundred ships off the shore of this particular island.
High Admiral B. Henderson himself was heading the assult. A seaman came into his pesonal quartes on board the CFV Pearse FS. He had a satilite phone with him. "Sir," He started, "The Supreme Admiral is on the line for you." Henderson took a deep breath and then the phone, "Sir, Henderson here, orders?" The High Admiral listened to his superior intently.
Minutes after the call, hundreds of Multi-role fighters took off towards a hostile base along the coast. Once in range they fired off numerous napalm based missiles at anything and everything. Several had been shot down by the time the last of the planes made it back to their carriers.
A few minutes after that, six hundred landing craft headed towards shore along with thousands of RIBs. They were escorted by the remaining fighters and the beach was being bombarded by shells from the Battleships that were present. One the landingcraft and the RIBs came close to shore, however, the shelling stopped.

The RIBs and other landing craft hit shore. They unloaded quickly and the men aboard were surprised at the absence of any hostiles. Quickly, however, they set up a perimeter. Construction crews quickly worked on building an airfeild as well as several other structures. The large fleet of ships moved closer to shore.

IC: Commander Julio secured the earplugs. Though they meant he and his men communicated mostly through gestures, they were necessary for any artillerymen.
He didn't know who these men were that were landing on Aesonic ground, but the artillery barrage that had preceded their landing left no doubt that they came as invaders. Well, they were about to get a nasty surprise.
The first salvo was aimed at the airfield being built. Sattellites had given the location, meaning that the artillery could stay concealed behind a hill until the vital moment. Now, one hundred twenty inchers fired.
Meanwhile, behind a different hill, an equal amount of artillery was aiming at the boats. They fired as well.

Several of the ships were sunk and havoc was reaked upon the shore. A group one hundred Behemoth IIs went off in search of the attackers. Nearly thirty Recon planes launched from the Aircraft carriers. The CFV Pearse FS had not yet been hit but if the artillery kept coming than it was only a matter of time.
'There' one of the pilots of a recon plane thought as he saw a large group of artilery vehicles. He sent the location of the enemy back to the Pearse. Once they were recieved, the Pearse along with the remaining Battleships opened fire on their location.

"****!" Shouted Julio as shells started crashing down. "All right, men, one more salvo, and then we pull back!"
The large guns fired off again, and then started pulling back. Most of them were already mounted on trucks, and the rest were towed behind. In addition, they were escorted by several AA trucks, to avoid any attacks on the column.
Meanwhile, the other artillery group opened fire on the ships again, despite this making it almost certain that they too would be attacked.
Julio judged that he and his men were now far enough away from the original sight. He leapt out of the truck, and swore again as a rock sliced up through his shoe. His crew had to be the last in the army to get those new battlesuits. Ignoring the pain, he started shouting orders for his men to attack the fleet again. Nine of the artillery pieces had been destroyed in the enemy reprisal, but it was still a formidable salvo.

Both of the groups were hit again. The remaing naval forces fell back. The CFV Pearse FS had been 'grazed' by on of the incoming shells so it moved to the back of the group in hopes of doing some small repairs. Four High Altitude Bombers (HAB)-91 Desolators took off from two modified aircraft carriers. Two headed for an artillery group that had rather stupidly revealed it's location by attacking the navy. The other two circled just off shore. They were waiting for one of the Recon planes to report a new siting. It came in. They also flew off into the distance until they were just above the group. "Permission to launch?" The pilots asked their CO over the intercom. "Granted," He told all four of them at the same time. Within seconds all of the HAB-91 Desolators opened their weapons bays and dropped 20 Smart Bombs each.

His body was ripped to shreads. The army, however, continued on their movement. Soon they were on the side of a hill. Brigideir General Ian McCafferty took command. He called on his radio, "Send out two platoons of Black Berets to our 9, 10, 11, 12, 1, 2, and our 3."

One of the Berets spotted something not too far off in some trees. He zoomed in on the sites of his camera. He made a small hand gesture and the group leader army crawled over to him. Most of the Berets were on their stomaches. If they had to move faster they crouched but they rarely stood upright. "What is it?" The leader hissed. "Sir, I got a tango in the trees to our 11," the soldier whispered back. The leader called into his encrypted radio, "Teams Charlie and Echo, this is Delta. Julio, no fool, had picked an area that was not promising for an ambush. There was relatively little undergrowth, due to the huge trees catching most of the sunlight. The tree trunks were large, but there was space between them. Julio had placed the trucks in a defensive ring, with the towed artillery on the inside. Truck mounted artillery aimed down both rodes, as well as being able to swivel to face any large force emerging from the forest.
Meanwhile, Julio's counterpart, Kang, had placed five pieces of artillery in a cave, while the rest pulled back, and now brought them out and fired a salvo towards the enemy beachhead.

Carlie Leader looked over the transmitter. "Damn it," He said under his breath. The antena was missing. It must have been caught on something. He signaled to his men to split up. Half would move to Delta and half went towards Beta. Charlie Leader started falling back to base.
The Brigideir watched as the shells smash into the ground down the beach. He was glad that the General had ordered to move. He looked out to the ocean where he saw a single RIB heading towards shore. "Here comes the apocolypse," He said as it made it's landing and the Four Horsemen got off of it.

Kang placed his artillery in the cave again. This was truly the ideal spot to hole up. All five cannons were brought to bear on the only entrance, which was large enough for a single truck to fit through. One of the artillery pieces was loaded with Armor Buster rounds.
(OOC: Armor piercing, with a delayed explosive designed to go off once it's pierced the armor)
The rest were loaded with anti-personnel rounds. The mountain the cave was in was solid. Nothing short of a full scale nuclear assault would budge it. The cave also went far enough back that the two supply trucks that accompanied them could also fit in.

The Four Horsemen had been breifed aboard the Pearse. They knew what was happening. The radios that the Black Berets were using also sent the messages back to the Pearse. They moved out to Delta's position. Once they got there they told the Berets that were there to fall back half way to base.
Once they were out of the way Matthew Crowley took out his D-7 Cobra Strike Sniper Rifle and took aim at the man in the distance. He could see that there were other firces ariund him but no kill shots were possible on any of the enemies except the one that had been spotted earlier. By this point the other Horsemen had dropped to the ground as well. Crowley found another target, again he fired at the head. The others pulled out their assult rifles and prepared to cover Crowley.
The Berets were on a large hill overlooking the gunfight when the small fight started. Delta Leader was in charge of the five platoons present. "Everyone," called out, "Scatter and lend them some support." With that the two hundred and fifty men all moved in to small groups and moved out trying to stay as far from the other groups as possible. Once they were in position they opened fire on the areas of the forest where they though the enemy might be. Over two hundred explosive arrows were fired before the soldiers had to reload. In each group two soldiers stood ready with their assult rifles.

The artillery trucks were designed with the fuel tank being heavily armored, so that though fifty-two trucks were hit, most were repairibly damaged. Crowley could tell that they were on the move. He signaled to his men who signaled to the Berets. Half of the Berets kept up firing their arrows as well as the arrows of the comrades.
