ICCD after a couple years of planning decided to estabish the ground work for it's first colony. (this colony is on a marslike planet in the solar system)
Prestages.. ICCD was constructing Pinwheel space stations.. included in the compliment of these stations are 'workhorse' robotic arm ships' these ships are to be used in the construction of Ion Rockets who components are raised via two different space elevator systems. These rockets then take space station crew and other individuals from the surface to ICCD's first colony.
- Stage 1 a couple extra orbital satalites are launched a couple months before the next stage. These satalites will be used for communication, satalite mapping, and broadcast to the surface including television and other information. They will also photograph the mission as much as posible and provide secondary sensors. The rockets themselves however will go to the main landing site as their equipment and extrapayload may be useful as spares etc.. . 8 months
----then 4 months later----
-Stage 2 launch 20 Ion Rockets(a conventional jet methane etc.. is also included these wil act as boosters unless an alternative elevator system is discovered for the atmospher) with various equipment including atmospheric components and living and research equipment. (will be detailed in greater detail in subsequent posts) Timeframe 8 months. The stations are self assembling via a number of landing drones that can scout the nearby area and give feedback.

-Stage 3. 20 more Ion Rockets are Launched this time with crew 10 crew per rocket for a total of 200 colonists. Additional Materials and equipment.
----then 8 months later---
-Stage 4 20 more rockets are launched, the same as stage 3, when this mission lands
Individuals that have completed thier projects or for medical reasons etc.. are sent back when the rockets are finished refueling from materials on the colony planet
This process continues with rate adjustable, rockets that are returned are checked for reusability
Population is planned to be as follows:
Year 1 of touchdown by colonists pop 200
year 2 300
year 3 400
year 4 500 etc..
at 10 years there should be around 1000 colonists and a whide variety of equipment. The timeframe is not 'definate above 10 years at this point' due to potential new technologies.
The stations themselves will use fully cyclic living systems and attempt to burry facilities underground. Small scale reactors will be used for much of the initial power.
500 Billion is set aside for this project over the course of it's expected near future.
