Alaric Tan'it, Emperor of the Empire of Xeraph, appeared on the commscreens in all of the member nations of GAPTS.

"Attention, members of GAPTS. The nation of Fourhearts has just suffered an unprovoked attack. Attackers unknown at present. I have ordered the deployment of six Heavy Battle Cruisers to the orbit over Fourhearts. I strongly urge all GAPTS nations go to full battle alert. Mobilise your forces.....I have a strong sense that there may be a broad range of attacks on your nations, as well as others, especially in Arterus.

To the Coalition currently occupying the Colony established by the Black Warrior Cult in Arterus. All forces are now in HIGH BATTLE ALERT, repeat, HIGH BATTLE ALERT. I have reason to suspect largescale aggression in that area."

" In addition to the members of GAPTS, I strongly urge all of the allies of Xeraph to mobilise. I will be in contact with you all. Updates will follow as events unfold. Xeraph out."

On board the battle cruiser PROSPERO, King Ricala of Auralinia was personally directing the search-and-destroy mission over Fourhearts. " Mr. Calhoon, scan all quadrants. I want a shot at this sonofabitch."

" Aye sir."

"Sir, I have a bogie."

Ric ran over to the ensign's screen. It was fairly big, and not moving very fast. "Can you identify it Mr. Calhoon?"

" Looks like a quasi-stationary satellite, sir. Doesn't fit any of the descriptions we have for orbiting warfare units. There is an ion trail leading away from it, coordinates straight to Fourhearts."


" Very well. Find out what it is and who it belongs to."

" Aye sir."

As the scan progressed, not much was discovered. Several probes had been launched at the object, but all the info pointed to a simple commsat with small launching capabilities.

As Calhoon continued into the night, he still came up short. No overt markings, minimal radioactive signal....virtually no signs of any kind of activity at all.

Then he saw something, just under one of the struts supporting one of the antennas. A small oval. Calhoon magnified the image. A small oval, about six inches high, with a sphere in the center, with what appeared to be lines leading out from it, jagged lines below. He pinged Ricala. "Sir, we may have something."

Ricala was on the bridge in less than a minute. Peering at the symbol, he didn't recognize it. " Any idea what, or whom, this represents ensign?"

"Not yet, sir. But I'll sure as hell find out."

Meanwhile, Ricala once again went over the reports of the attack. He zoned in on the part where a nation called Axis Nova broadcast some propaganda about Kraven. ' Fuckin' assholes. Why didn't Dreadfire finish them off when he had the chance. Just like Bush 300 years ago in Iraq.'

" Ensign, check al databanks. Try and establish a link between this satellite and the emblem you found."

"Aye sir."

Foriegn Ministry, Granton, Findan

Baron Sir Charles Hassahoff, the Foreign Minister of Findan, was eating his luch which consited of a trukey, bacon, lettuce, and tomato sandwich liberally smeared with French dressing, mayonayse, and Dijon mustrad and looking on Amazon.com for a birthday gift for his brother while simutaniously watching the Imperial News Network. His secretary, Robert Nelson walked into his office and said, "Your Grace, I'm sorry to disturb your lunch, but I've just been handed this communiquie from the Xeraphian embassy."
"What is it Robert?"
"I don't know sir."

Hassahoff took the envelope and reached to his desk to get his letter opener, that had been in his family as long as Hassahoff's had been in the Foreign Ministry, which was a long time. He opended it.

"Oh shit!"
"What is it, Your Grace?"
"Fourhearts has been attacked!"
"By who?"
"We don't know. Robert call the Emperor and tell him I need to meet with him and the Chamber immeadiatly."
"Yes, Your Grace."

Hassahoff sighed, this was going to be a long day.

Vice-Regent Strega was relieved that Prince Vlad was unharmed. He had just received a message from the Prince stating that Fourhearts was under attack, losses were heavy. The Emperor had gotten a group of people out of there and had issued a call to GAPTS. The Prince had ordered all Phoenixian units in TBWCs colony to high alert, and the nation of The Blessed Realm of The Grey Phoenix to battle alert.

Strega immediately arranged a report to the citizens of the Realm.

The commscreens in all of the homes of the Grey Phoenix were blazed across with "BREAKING NEWS"........

Strega appeared, standing in front of a phalanx of the Phoenixian StormGuard, the flag of The Grey Phoenix beside him.

" Citizens of the Grey Phoenix. I'm here to report to you of a cowardly attack on a nation at peace. A little over three hours ago, an unknown entity launched a devastating projectile at the nation of Fourhearts, specifically the capitol, Juliana. As you may know, there was a conference going on there where discussion of the Kraven situation was ongoing. Prince Vlad was attending, as was Emperor Tan'it, Lord Sethanis of Black Shadows, and Lord Teii of Vhammpyr. I am pleased to tell you that all are safe, but that for all intents and purposes, the beautiful city of Juliana is no more.

All avenues are presently being pursued in the identification of the perpetrator. All nations of the Empire are at full alert, and the Emperor has called upon the nations of GAPTS to mobilise.

I ask that your prayers be with King Drake and his people. I have ordered several medical/MASH units to Juliana to aid them in relief. I will report any further news as it occurs."

The set went back to it's regular programming, but all commsets were tuned to the news channels. The images were almost unbelievable. Many citizens broke down and cried at the sight of the orphanage in Juliana....or rather, what remained of the orphanage. The bodies of children were everywhere, heaped one on top of the other..........all dead. The building and it's surroundings were on fire, massive explosions could be heard in the background..............

ooc: just as a thought, why don't you keep it here? Multiple threads get confusing, and as this is evidently going to be a big one, it will enable all follow whats happening without having to jump from thread to thread.

The stereotypical female newscaster, with a vapid look and a bored (and boring) voice, is in the middle of saying something when she receives the breaking news and quickly broadcasts it to Czardas and the rest of the world in a patently matter-of-fact tone, as though she is tossing off everyday speech with no emotion whatsoever.

"Just moments ago the capital of Fourhearts, Juliana, was destroyed by an orbital attack launched by an unknown group, leaving possibly millions dead. The nation of Axis Nova, a former Kraven slave state, claimed responsibility for the attack at the time. The whereabouts of Foreign Minister Kari Alhoun and Vice-Director of National Intelligence Airya Wong are unknown at the moment.

Lord Teii, Priest-King of Vhammpyr, stood with his hands on his hips, surveying the damage to Juliana first-hand. He had requested to be beamed back down to the sight of the attack so as to ascertain just exactly what aid would be rendered. Being the creature he was, Hominis Nocturnis, he had no fear of radiation, chem/bio weapons, etc... They didn't, couldn't affect him. He was, by normal human standards, already dead. Had been for over 4,500 years.

At any rate, as he walked through the fires and piles of rubble in what was once the capitol of Fourhearts, he realized that the upcoming conflict was going to be on a par with the biggest wars that he had ever seen. The last one was against the Empire of Koth, over a hundred years ago. Than four vampire nations, wiped out of existence by a massive nuclear conflagration. Now, only Vhammpyr was left, and he and his predesessor had seen to it that their people would forever be protected from another assault like the one by the Kothites.

'And so it begins', he thought. ' Kraven, AMF, GAPTS, and who knows who else will get involved. Shit......this is going to be a killer of a war.' He chuckled at his own little joke.

Teii punched his commpin. " OK, Delaney, get me out of here. I've seen enough."

As per your warning- our military has been set to Defcon 1. We will await futher updates.

General Gayland Cox entered the sitting room of the Grand Dukes personal apartments before he could enter the Dukes bed chambers he was intercepted by the Duke's wife Duchess Ellen.
"General Cox you know the Doctor has ordered Ozgood not to be disturbed" said the Duchess.
"I bring bad news My lady Fourhearts has been attacked by a Kraven Corp. allie."
"So what we are neutral in this matter let AMF and Kraven blow each other up for all I care. That war has nothing to do with us Gayland."
The Duchess went over to the work station she was sitting at when The General walked in and said. " We will send some relief supplies and medical help to Fourhearts and a nasty letter to the country that attacked them and the matter will be closed. I don't see why you would bother the Duke with such a matter."
General Cox walked over to the Duchess and showed her the report.
The Duchess spent the next ten minutes reading the intelligence report with out a word being spoken.
She placed the report on the table next to the work station and said "Xeraph and Elyria-Lorain are close allies attacking their heads of state is an act of war against them and us."
"We have no choice my lady If we do not respond our allies will think we are weak"
"Very well General have the military put on full alert and deploy our orbital defenses, we don't want a repeat of the attack here. Who should we have as a point man for this? "
"I was thinking Admiral Dayron my lady, he has a good working relationship with Elyria-Lorain and the Xeraph commanders seem to respect him."
"Good I will inform the Duke have Dayron report here asap."

The first transport aircraft are leaving now with supplies for Fourhearts to aid them in their time of need.

Rest assured, it was my pleasure to rescue the Vicereine and her associates when Axis Nova attacked. Prince Vlad and King Ricala had the foresight to suggest one of our starships be in orbit above Fourhearts. It was a pity we couldn't get more people out, but we are sending medical and military aid to the stricken country.

I would indeed be honored to establish ties with Xirnium. Even though we are all embroiled in the conflict with the Kraven Corporation and it's henchmen right now, might I suggest a foundational meeting between some of our diplomats. At a later date, perhaps you and I can meet personally.

Regardless, if the nation of Xirnium requires anything at all from Xeraph, we would respond immediately.

Thank you for your message. I knew I could count on an old and trusted ally.

At present, aside from Axis Nova and Kraven, it has not been determined who will be deployed against whom in this conflict. I have many reports about Kraven "slave states" who may or may not enter this war.

In fact, none of the nations of GAPTS nor any ally of Xeraph has yet been attacked, excepting Fourhearts. Several GAPTS nations are dug in on the Black Warrior Cult colony, which borders land held by Kraven.

Admiral Dayron is of course welcome to meet with myself and my military advisors. I do not know at this point how many military commanders of other nations would be able to attend due to the situation.

Basically all we are doing now is mobilizing. I'm positive in the coming days that all nations will be taking an active roll in the assault on the Kraven Coalition.

Get well, sir......we need you.

The august Parliament of the Eternal Republic would be delighted to commence diplomatic talks between our two noble nations, with the ultimate aim of establishing the foundations of a strong and long-lasting alliance. Should it be convenient for your government, Xirniumite diplomats could meet with their counterparts in the Xeraphian Empire almost immediately.

Of course, it is a shame that (due to the practical necessities of the current international political climate) we shall not, ourselves, be able to meet personally. In due course, however, I’m sure that this unfortunate situation will be rectified.

Emperor Samuel III of Findan was worried. His Foreign Minister's secretary called him forty-five minutes ago to tell him about the destruction of Juliana, the capital of Fourhearts and he was already concerned about the Freek attacks on Kraven and seeing how that was going to go.

His Minister of Intellegence Saul Goldstien had been the last to arrive. "Sorry your Highness, I was just going over the latest intellegence estimates. I'm afriad," he said as he sat down around the oval shaped table, "that this has just gotten a whole lot more complicated. Axis Nova has claimed responsibility for this attack."

"They did what?" said High Commdant Marquis Sir Robert Braxton, of the Imperial Marines, "Why would they do that? You'd have to be insane to claim that or at least Damien Dreadfire. Minister Goldstien, why would they do that? Your the spook you should know."

"I haven't the faintest idea, commdant."

Defense Minister Lord Sir Reginald Cooper said, "Your highness I reccomend that we go to Emperor's Code Two."

"Yes I agree. On my way over here I got a teletype saying that Xeraphian Forces are mobilizing," said Foriegn Minister Baron Sir Charles Hassahoff

"Ok. Generals, Commdant, Admiral we have upgraded to Emperor's Code Two. Effective at," the Emperor looked at his watch which said 12:45, "At 1300 hours Granton Time."

"Yessir!" said Marshal Count Sir Craig Hampton, "Some my Ready Redgiments can be fully mobilized by 1400, Granton Time and anywhere in the world twenty-four hours form now."

"Get to it, " he turned to his chief secretary, Alfred de Hessington IV, "Al call Prime Minister Thaxton and Parliament. We need to be prepared for the inevitable, that Findan is going to war with Kraven. Also tell the networks that I will adress the nation at 2000 Granton Time."

"Aye."

"Ok everybody get your sections ready."

I bring good news my doctors and my good lady wife say I should be fit to travel in a few days. If your offer is still open I would like to meet personally with you and your allies to discuss the situation. I would also like to apply for membership in the GAPTS.
I have all ready deployed the Second Fleet under Admiral Dayron to aid in the rebuilding and defense of Fourhearts. This force should be more then sufficient to defend that nation from further attacks.
Tarlag has also mobilized all its armed forces in anticipation of the coming counter attack. Our Grand fleet is assembling as we speak. along with the fleet we will be deploying more then 40 RCTs (Regimental Combat Teams)
and over 2000 land based fighters.
We will also be deploying the Mark IX AI units ( the same type of units we used against the wizards forces in Elyria-Lorain). Tarlag will also be Fielding the new Mark III heavy Combat Armor. My researchers feel these units will put my forces on more equal terms with the Kraven and Axis Nova forces.

As of this moment all the Armed Forces of IMP (Imperius of Mandalore Prime) are hereby being activated & mobilized the 1 st units will depart in a few mere moments...I will contact you on the status of DV's involvement...You would be proud of the DVAF...And the strides they have made into their effectivness as a military...
