The Veragon Ministry of Defence has announced that Veragon's nuclear weapons program is in full swing, and production of ICBMs will soon begin. Veragon tested two nuclear weapons in an underground facility, with powers of 20 and 100 kilotons. Uranium enrichment facilities, originally intended for nuclear fuel, are now producing large quantities of weapons grade material. In addition to the development of strategic ICBMs, we are working on nuclear artillery shells of varying calibers and other tactical nuclear weapons. Our nuclear weapons stockpile at present consists of two 250 kt weapons, 3 100 kt, 5 20 kt, 24 16 inch nuclear shells, and 127 155mm nuclear shells. We are working on our first missile design, and any assistance with that would be appreciated.

OOC: A nation of 40 million people can't sustain a nuclear arsenal? Hmm... *peers at Israel, a nation with a population of 7 million and plenty of nukes*

Agreed. Israel likely has them.

I think that anything over 15-20 million can have nuclear weapons if their defense budget can pay for it.

I'm sure his can, even without looking at it.

Although within my works I usually don't sell to young nations or allow nations who are small within my alliances to have or use nuclear weapons.

Population doesn't matter. Bill Gates could have a nuke, and he has a population of 1.

Fantastic point.

It's really more about money than people.

We see no problem with this, as long as you remain responsible and don't get out of hand.

Pythogria applauds this development. Just make sure you only use them when hit by WMDs-- NEVER pre-emptively. We would give you warheads and missiles, but our missiles and warheads were bought, meaning we can't give them away. (Unless Geneticon gives us permission.)

OOC: One of the major industries of Veragon is uranium mining combined with a powerhouse economy, to offset it, our navy is rather small.

IC:

The President would like to extend thanks to all nations who have shown support for our developments, and especially to Pythogria and its continued assistance to us. This arsenal will be maintained for defensive purposes, and defensive purposes only.
