May day invasion

The sun slowly creep from its resting spot in the early morning hours. Korpral Sven stood on the deck of the Panthean cruiser as it raced toward its destination. Excitement and anticipation creep all over his body and the rest of the crew as the day had finally arrived. It was the day the entire 19th and 27th army corps were preparing for. The day that would change the history of Europe forever. The day that they return from their homeland. It was the invasion of Europe!

The fleet had stayed dormat for months. Keeping a low profile, so the allies in Russia would no nothing of their presence near Europe. While the rest of world was so convinced that the Panthean military was destroyed. The Panthean Northern fleet (DUH! The fleet attacking Yemen is the Southern Fleet…so what else you think I have?) moved in to attack a Europe that thought they were safe. They thought wrong…

Portugal would be the first target. It was simply easier to get to the Portugal beach rather then ploughing through the mess that was Russia. Of course by the time the 19th and 27th corp would reach Europe they would have been tired out from all the fighting and weak to combat the German threat. But that wouldn’t be the case, the Germans would have to face an entirely new, entirely fresh elite army. One of Pantheans most proudest, most
highest honor unit.

Operation May Day was a plan, 3 years in the making. Although their was some worries that it wouldn’t be pulled off due to the ongoing war in Russia. But the fleet had its orders and had moved out from their patrol just south of Africa. They left on April 27th with top secret attack plans.

As Sven continued to look for the shoreline a fury of F22’s buzzed over his head. Flying only a few hundred meters from the ground, the 5 F22’s began their bombing runs on the surprised Germania offenses. The Germanians were taken off guard. They had no idea that Panthean still had a navy out somewhere in the ocean. They had no idea that the front line would come to them, instead of them going to the front line.

Sven squinted from the rising sun. Just as the sun peaked out from the Portuguese , the first Panthean bombs dropped. The earth shook as the base defenses blew up in a hue of orange and red. Even from where Sven was the screams and orders from Germans could be heard.

The bombings were slowly followed up with bombardments from the 12 inch guns of the Panthean battleships. Once again the Germans were meant with volley and volley after shells of Panthean artillery.

Sven could now see the smoke rising from the destroyed bases. The pill boxes and other forwarded guns were totally demolished and all hell was breaking lose on the Portuguese
shoreline.

“Sven get over here” shouted the young Panthean Lojtnant(Lieutent) who wasn’t much older then Sven.

“Right sir” responded Sven in what some would describe as a mix between Russian and Slovakain language

Sven was taken so off guard by the explosions and the first sounds of war that he neglected to get in the transport. The Panthean marines were engaging in a full frontal assault on the Portugal. Tanks and other armored personal would follow close by.

The troops made sure that their AK74’s were loaded and that they had all gear in place. Bombs continued to drop from the various F22’s and artillery rounds that punished the Portugal beach.

“Alright, lets go!” Shouted the officer as the transports didn’t move. The young officer was eager to fight. He wanted more then ever to get revenge on those who kicked his ancestors out of Slovakia. He wanted revenge against the evil horde who attacks his motherland and pillages the black gold from its bossism. He wanted more then ever to split and shot a German in the face and point blank. They were all John Wayne’s and this was their movie. They would all come out as heroes and finally be able to farm and live
In the lands of their ancestors.

Finally the first of the transport crafts begin to roar to life. The hover crafts were capable of landing on the beach with Humvees and APCS within their craft. The Northern fleet was the only fleet in the Panthean navy that had these technologies. As the Panthean nation afterall was a 3rd world nation. But thanks to the government’s fear and anxiety, they left no expense when it came to the military. Especially a possible invasion of
Europe.

Meanwhile the Generalmajor of the two corps stood with Kapten of the USS Slovnova The first stage of the invasion was going well and the Germanians were taken off guard.

Kaptain Boris Yelts pulled up and was meant with a strong pull from the g force. He had already took out all of the Germanians communications, the air defense, and the radars. The Germanians were blinded like bats and unable to predict the next move of the Panthean invasion force.

OOC: LOL, you never cease to amuse me, Pantheaa. You do know that Layarteb and I have set up a SOSUS net that spans most of the Atlantic, right? I can see your ships coming from hundreds of miles away. Not only that, you've just brought the entire October Alliance against you. Good luck!

Reichsführer Hermann Goettel wwas stationed at Reichsbunker 19 located in the Central portion of the Portugese coastline. He was relaxing -- smoking a fine Cuban cigar and drinking a glass of vodka when suddenly an OS-Soldat burst into his office.

[Translated from German]

Reichsführer Hermann Goettel: "Was ist hierlos!?"

OS-Soldat: "Forgive me for intruding, Herr Reichsführer, but the SOSUS net has picked up a Pantheaan fleet headed for Portugal. It appears as if they are attempting to invade."

Reichsführer Hermann Goettel: "Ha-ha! I admire their tenacity. Begin firing all of our anti-ship missiles, all of our SAM sites, all of our anti-submarine torpedoes, and begin doing the same from the Azores Islands.

"Activate the 6th Reichsmarine Fleet just in-case they get too close. Send the 9th, 3rd, and 5th Luftwaffe Divisions to the air. Make sure the 6th Fleet and the Luftwaffe Divisions don't engage the Pantheaan fleet. Let our missiles deal with that. I will inform der Führer. Dismissed."

The OS-Soldat clicked his heels together and left Goettel's office. Within minutes a telegram was sent to der Führer, informing him of what was occuring.

Soon, literally tens-of-thousands anti-ship, anti-air, and anti-submarine missiles and torpedoes were launched at the advancing Pantheaan Fleet. Volley after volley stormed towards the ill-fated Pantheaan ships, planes, and submarines.

Sparta watched as they were currently in the middle of a war of thier own. They still had a surplus if millions of troops and were ready to attack.

A 'Vagabond' KH-6 spy satellite observed, and transmitted as the Spartan war room met once again to discuss the matter at hand.

This time Commander Madden spoke first. "Hell we have another 'Rod from God' satellite that will be in striking distance in a matter of minutes. Lets just Rod'em and get rid of thier entire fleet at once."

A several hundred gigahertz radio transmission interrupted the radio transmissions of the world with these words.

If you stand with North Germania and defend him it will show the abuse of power of TOA. As my government as stated millions of time, the TOA allows for nations to invade foreign nations but doesn't allow that said nation to fight back and launch a counter offensive. I hope you can prove me wrong, but im seriously doubtful as everything i said about the TOA as been proven correct thus far. ANd trying to talk sense in some nations is like trying to convince a dog that he's a cat.

My war is assualt for land that is occupied by North Germania in Russia. The NG invasion has resulted large amounts of civilian casulities, acts of genocide and other crimes against humanity. If my intentions were truly land, i would of attack Bjornoya or Hirgizstan. My war is justifield on those grounds alone. Do stand up with NG. Doing so will show your support for his various crimes against innocent people, who had no stake in how the Panthean government ruled.

OOC- yeah I suppose you could see my ships from miles away. If you want it to have a navel engagement away from the coast then I can do that instead. But then again I don’t see how your ships can travel warp speed to the location that I am at now. But that’s ok im into a good sea battle and I plan on making this one of the longest RP’s on E2.

Near Portugal

The fighting was intense and havoc was everywhere. The angel of death would walk among the fleets, carrying the lucky few to the aftermath. Korporal(corporal) Sven was just lucky enough to avoid a German bomb that landed just a few meters away from him. This wasn’t going to be his hour death, at least for awhile. By the grace of God, the bomb wasn’t intended for his vessel.

The Panthean navy meant the German navy with fierce resistance. Both navies exchanged volleys back and forth in between each other. The sound of cannons firing and explosions filled the noon day. Smoke from the destroyed ships blocked the sun, whose rays of light gave Sven a certain peaceful feeling in the middle of a waging war. Night became day and tranquility dissolved into madness

Another Panthean ship exploded near Sven’s cruiser. The German torpedoes had ploughed into the ship, showing no mercy or discrimination to any poor soul. A large amount of soldiers evaporated in the burning temperature of the ship’s explosion. Others managed to jump off ship, a couple of them died, but others lived. The burning smell of flesh, oil and ammunition was the only thing that remain left of the proud navy ship.

Just as the German volley ended for a reload, the Panthean cannons fired as if they were on queue in some old pirate movie. The German navy was hit with a large amount of Panthean shells and torpedoes. The carriers and the battleships were the priority targets. Upon sinking those monsters of the ocean, the Panthean navy would have total air domination.

The Panthean naval carriers had already lowered their precious jets into the bays as to protect them from the fatal firing of German volleys. They wanted to protect their jets, for they would be the key for the upcoming operation. The carriers and troop transports were not in range of the battle yet, as they stayed for from the continuing action that was taking place.

Leading the charge into the German navy was several submarines and the a various battleships, all who were equipped with the latest and greatest of weaponry and gear.

The Cottish Realm was still recovering from the civil war, with a seriously diminished force than it had before the rebellion. However, the Cots could still spare a few ships and Marines to help out their allies. From Haakonsvern Naval Base, a large amount of ships started sailing out the Lysefjord and into the ocean, proudly flying the Cottish naval ensign. A total of three battleships, two carriers, eleven cruisers, thirty-one destroyers and nineteen frigates were heading for Portugal, supported by no less than eleven resupply ships. Sailing ahead of the task force, a group of sixteen submarines sailed, hidden below the waves.

"The Realm hereby officially declares war on the Panthean nation with legal justification in § 21 in the Protection of the Realm Act (http://forums.jolt.co.uk/showthread.php?t=465139) of 2006, and issues the following ultimatum to Pantheaa: You have until the arrival of our naval forces to the Area of Operations to surrender your forces. Failure to comply with this non-negotionable demand will result in your forces being destroyed with no mercy shown. Spare your forces the humilitaing defeat it has in store and cease all hostile actions against the October Alliance immediately. This is your first and final warning."

The Hirgizstanian High Command in Hirgizstan City was buzzing with activity. The SOSUS network in the Atlantic had picked up, of all things, a Pantheaan fleet headed for Portugal. A foolhardy adventure if there ever was one, and an adventure that would be over quickly.

Dublin Port
Ireland, Insurmountable Empire of Layarteb

From the enormous Dublin ports the entire 19th Fleet was setting off. It had been activated and ready to go as quickly as possible. The sprawling Hirgizstanian Naval Base was nestled among the many Naval and Civilian Ports of the EOL along the Irish Eastern Coast. From Dublin Port it would take a couple of days to reach Portugal, in the south. Initial reports where that the North Germanian Fleets had already engaged the foolish Pantheaans. The Hirgizstanian Commanders could only hope something would be left for them to destroy.

On board the HNS Stonewall, an African sailor from Lusaka had an old, battered guitar in his hands. Back in Lusaka he had been an avid singer and had a record deal waiting for him when he decided his duty was finished. As the ship's crew, dressed in their crisp Navy Whites clambered down into the living quaters, after having been seen off by freinds, family and an honour guard at the docks, they had been marched off the decks. Now he sat on his bunk, his four room-mates sitting looking at nothing in particular.

He strummed a little on the fine strings and after a little while broke into a song that drew more and more sailors to the door in the bulkhead, all listening.

The crowd grew larger, and long after the notes had faded into oblivion the soldiers still stared into space, thinking of those brave souls lost forever to humanity in the expanses of southern Russia. A fight was coming to the Pantheaans, they had unleashed the dogs of war, and they would pay the ultimate price for their deeds.

From Crete elements of the Hirgizstanian Air Force were put on full alert, ready to assisst the North Germanians at any time.

However, in a bunker in Sierra Leone a number of EMP satellites were being configured for what was known as an STP (Short Tactical Pulse). The I-10 Satellites would fire a short pulse of energy over a small area. In the past it had been tested on formations of aircraft, vehicles and ships to great effect. Unlike a conventional EMP pulse the STP was quick yet smaller and still able to do the same damage.

Now two Satellites, orbiting above Spain, where moving into GeoSync Orbit for their targetting course which would take them somewhere over Portugal and out into the Atlantic afterward. As the satellites reached the Initial Point the operators in the Space Corps bunker began to fix the Pantheaan ships by Targetting Satellite, not that it was difficult because the North Germanian fleet was lit up like a 200 watt bulb on the screen and was labelled as 'FREINDLY', thanks to the extensive IFF (Idenfity Freind or Foe) technology throughout all TOA military units.

The Pantheaan Fleet was set up quickly and the operators waited paitently, a large digital timer counting down the seconds until the Satellites hit their FP (Firing Point). As the counter hit zero, high up in space, the two satellites fired dual beams of strange EMP energy over the entire Pantheaan Fleet. It was natural that ships far away from the energy fields may only be slightly damaged, but the battle grouping of the Fleet made this more unlikely as the energy fields were directed at the biggest targets, the Carriers, Battleships and their escorts. In a few seconds, which seemed like longer, the beams ended and the Satellites carried on their orbit. The Pantheaan fleet would be fried, dead in the water, sitting ducks for the North Germanians to pick off.

"If millions of troops and were ready to attack" is not literate eitherOOC: Any physically and metally able citizen of Sparta Infensus is forced into the military when they become of the age over 16, and under 80. The school system and government is a militeristic one. Diverting as much funds as possible towards the military. Where children are trained when they become of an age where they are mentally stable enough; are trained. These are usually between the ages of 7-13 when children begin military training. They only are allowed to serve unless they qualify as a veteran marksman with 15; standard issue hyper-mass produced weapon's. They only qualify to enter the army or navy or air-force and production/manufacturing after they become knowledgeable of every single basic tactic that has been used in war; and they can only qualify when they can move 40 miles walking or running a day and perform/use thier knowledge of tactics against another team on the last days training exercise. Every man is issued a random assault rifle and only one magazine of ammunition. If the team which seeks to capture the rebel building/team 2. They must go through training all over again.

Training then continues once they coose a military branch where they receive more indepth training.

Lets see, out of statistic, only 15% of my population cannot serve because they are either. Too old; too young and are either aren't mentally stable or aren't physically capable. So 15% of 50 million is? 35,000,000 or 35 million serving in my military. They military takes funding from the Religion budget and funding because both are carried out through thier training. As kids receive military training they also receive standard Sparta Infensus; and UN standards treaching of which they must live up to. Any more questions?

In the barracks at Arendal, Marines were moving out of the barracks and into waiting buses which would take them down to the docks where the Amphibious Group was waiting to load up the Marines. A full Marine Expeditionary Unit was being assembled for this battle, more than nineteen thousand highly trained and fiercely loyal combat Marines. These men would do their best to assist the Germanians when they arrived, which wouldn't be for a few days yet. It was expected that it would take anywhere from twelve to eighteen hours to embark the Marines and get underway, upon which it would take another four days for the group to reach the Bay of Biscay where it would start combat operations.

What ever; though of course in times of war these people are forced into the military otherwise they are working. In peace times only 5 million are keeping up the military. In war times people are still keeping up the labor force. Hence I labeled as one of the branches Production/Construction. In which people are sent off to building either civvie or miltary buildings as well as other peace keeping construction jobs. If all needed positions are filled reservists and excess soldiers are sent home to work.

The Cottish ships were moving rapidly though the Norwegian Sea, moving at roughly 33 knots while heading south-southwest, steaming straight for the English Channel. The submarines were already past the channel, having patrolled the Atlantic when the orders came.

The admiral placed in charge of this task force stood on the bridge of one of the battleships, watching as his ships maintained a tactical formation. They were old ships, but still capable of fighting and fighting hard. The 406mm cannons on the three battleships along with the many missiles the ships carried would be sure to inflict some massive casualties on the Panthean fleet. They just needed to move past the English Channel before they could engage the enemy with the first weapons, the RGM-203 Imsdal long-range cruise missiles. These babies had a range of nearly one thousand, six hundred kilometers, or one thousand imperial miles, and could wreak havoc on anything they hit. Being SCRAMjet-powered, the missiles could reach speeds of nearly Mach 8 in the terminal velocity. It was missiles of this kind which had devestated the Layartebian strongpoint of Grenada when Cottish rebels fired twenty or so of them. The fleet had combined in excess of two thousand, one hundred Imsdals in their VLS tubes, as well as a wide variety of other missiles. Needless to say, the Cots were very confident in victory if the Pantheans didn't surrender. However, they had to get past the English Channel before they could start wreaking havoc. That was still fourty hours away.

Um, i already told you how many ships i had in my first post of the thread

The conflict developing in Europe caught the ears of the Republic Government. They decided send a recon group of 3 destroyers and one intel ship to watch the Pantheaans. They flew the peace flag(the white flag) to mark them as non-combatants.

OOC: Any physically and metally able citizen of Sparta Infensus is forced into the military when they become of the age over 16, and under 80. The school system and government is a militeristic one. Diverting as much funds as possible towards the military. Where children are trained when they become of an age where they are mentally stable enough; are trained. These are usually between the ages of 7-13 when children begin military training. They only are allowed to serve unless they qualify as a veteran marksman with 15; standard issue hyper-mass produced weapon's. They only qualify to enter the army or navy or air-force and production/manufacturing after they become knowledgeable of every single basic tactic that has been used in war; and they can only qualify when they can move 40 miles walking or running a day and perform/use thier knowledge of tactics against another team on the last days training exercise. Every man is issued a random assault rifle and only one magazine of ammunition. If the team which seeks to capture the rebel building/team 2. They must go through training all over again.

Training then continues once they coose a military branch where they receive more indepth training.

Lets see, out of statistic, only 15% of my population cannot serve because they are either. Too old; too young and are either aren't mentally stable or aren't physically capable. So 15% of 50 million is? 35,000,000 or 35 million serving in my military. They military takes funding from the Religion budget and funding because both are carried out through thier training. The muscle of the Hawdawg navy would soon make its presence felt in the narrows between England and Portugal. Slowly and methodically the fleet slipped into the channels and out to sea. The course was South by Southeast at a comfortable 28 knots for the northern groups. The FAG Caleb moved to a central location 75nm SE of Portugal to stand in between the ever nearing Panthean Fleet. The 11th Littoral Group fanned out in a picket ahead of FAG Caleb and readied to make war with the incoming vessels. Soon they would join there brothers in arms in repelling the invading fleet.

The 19th Fleet was cruising out west beyond the picturesque Bay of Biscay, off North Germanian Europe, which lay to the East and the South. The ships Commander's had been waiting for marching orders in the calmer water's in the Bay.

The guns of the six Missouri Class and four Iowa Class Battleship's opened up in salute at the received orders. The Fleet's flagship, the HNS Arcadia, one of the eight Ronald Reagan Class Battleship's provided a fly past with F-78B's trailing black, red and yello smoke, the Hirgizstanian colors.

On the bridge, Admiral Hector Kilome, the Task Force Commander, read the succint note over and over again. It simply read "Engage hostile forces. No POW's, hostiles are considered terrorists. Clear to Engage. Good Luck." The Navy was never a service that minced words, much like Kilome himself.

They surveyed the vast sea out in front of them, the vast Germanian coastline sliping away to the east in the growing gloom of the night. Soon the coastline of Western Spain and Portugal would be visible. Kilome's XO stood close to his elbow looking out to sea aswell. He spoke, "Admiral, permission to speak freely?"

Kilome turned and surveyed his XO for a second before replying, "Granted, go ahead Doug."

The XO scratched his ear just under his brown cap and looked straight at Kilome, "Sir, my brother is in Voronezh, he's a Tank Commander. Been fighting for ages. Do you think maybe that once we do this, that'll be it?"

Kilome looked nonchalantly for a second and then half turned to face the sea again. He spoke clearly and soundly, "Doug, a long time ago a wise man once told me that 'there is something in war that drives so deeply into you that death ceases to be the enemy, merely another participant in a game you don't wish to end.' War is in our nature Doug. These Pantheaans have no clue, no idea, as to war and its essence. They are squatters on land that isn't theirs because they couldn't fight to keep their homes. Your brother is a good man, we are good men, we're doing the right thing, and as to how long it will take? Well, Doug, what does it matter when your doing the right thing?"

The XO nodded and looked again out to sea, the instruments and lights on the Command Deck lighting up the features of the two men and the staff on deck. The gloom rolled in off the coast and shrouded the ships in a hazy darkness, the moon glinting off the calm waters as the ships prows tore a white froth in the murky depths as they raged on toward their objective.
