The square was packed. Noise everywhere. People squeezed in. All of them waiting for the Sub-Supreme General to reveal the newest revolution in Pythogrian military tactics.

The Laroos Nuclear Doctrine.

The Sub-Supreme General, John Geralt, stepped out onto the balcony. He adressed the nation.

"Citizens! Today, I announce the implementaton of the Laroos Nuclear Doctrine."

The citizens watched silently.

"As you know, Pythogria attempts to stay away from nuclear weapons when possible. That is why we have implemented this doctrine."

He cleared his throat.

"The doctrine is as follows:

Pythogria may, under no circumstance, use nuclear weapons without the correct provocaton. "Correct Provocation" is defioned as, "Pythogria was attacked with nuclear weaponry beforehand". Should Pythogria be attacked in this way (Even if the bomb is intercepted) it may retaliate with nuclear force.

This nuclear force will be total. If Pythogria is attacked with nuclear weapons, it may fire every last nuclear weapon it has back at the attacker, with no regard to civillian casualties."

The citizens began to cheer. After a short vote, it was found approval for the Laroos Doctrine was at 76.4%.

OOC: You can respond to my implementation of this.

King Alexander I watched the broadcast with blue eyes as Prime Minister Wesley sat across the large desk and watched as well.

"A very noble move by Pythogria...having nuclear warfare capabilities and using them in merely defensive measures. However they are in a different playing field...."

The Prime Minister listened as the King spoke, remaining silent as he knew the King was not finished. The lines on his aged face showed he was in thought...or perhaps past that and merely trying to phrase what he meant to say.

"Please send a communique to Pythogria. I want it quiet and hush-hush. Inform them that the Constitutional Monarchy of Loudain would like to step into the realm of becoming a nuclear power. A move like that could revolutionize our energy policy, not to mention energize our defense program."

The Prime Minister nodded as he listened before contacting his Foreign Minister, Edward Wick, and relaying the confidential task of course.

To: Sub-Supreme General John Geralt
From: Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Edward Wick

Congratulations and Bravo on Pythogria's noble and ethical step forward concerning its policy with defensive nuclear weapons and the use of them. The Constitutional Monarchy of Loudain is itself trying to pursue the nuclear dream for both energy and defensive uses. It is thus inquired whether or not a deal or arrangement could be organized for Pyhogrian technicians, scientists, and personnel might be able to pass on technological and scientific information to Loudainian counter-parts.

We thank you for your approval of our newest policy. As for your nuclear program, we would be happy to tell you how to use and make nuclear reactors and perhaps weapons. We must warn you beforehand, that you must not use these pre-empively. Never use nuclear weapons pre-emptively. As for your reactors... heck use them how you want. Our Tech Division has sent a cell. It is onboard the Yakiba, a reaserch vessel.

The Democratic Empire highly approves of your new doctrine on nuclear weaponry. It appears to be an overall good plan for nuclear retaliation, and is very well thought out. Nice work.

Dearest Pythogria:

Northford greets your nuclear policy with happiness, but also some amazement on how it contrasts with our own.

We are glad you choose to use Nuclear Weapons as part of your defencive arsenal, and applaud your decision to make the use of them public.

We, are however, amazed that you use them so sparingly. When Northford finally aquires Nuclear Technology, they plan to be at the forefront of our defence forces, allowing us to keep our troop numbers down.

Simply put, our future Nuclear Doctrine will work something along the lines of:

"We don't have a big land army, but, by god, if you invade us, we'll nuke the fuck outta you, and turn you into a glass parking lot"

That view, is of course, not yet held as Northford simply does not have (or want, at the present stage) nukes.

Regards,

Alan Brooks,

PM Northford.

DIplomatic Dispatch to the Pythogrian Government

While we support the use of nuclear weapons in purely defensive roles, The Mondothian Government cannot condone an absolute escalatory policy as anything but insane. SUch a policy leads quickly to a Mutually Assured Destruction scenerio in which there can be no winners. While to suggest that you forgo the employment of nuclear weapons at all costs would be suicidal and hipocritical, We must urge you to reconsider your nuclear policy to a more sane proportional response where an use of weapons of mass destruction would be replied to by an equivalent use of nuclear force. Many have said that such a policy leaves the nation using it vulnerable to an escalatory enemy, but in the modern age, andstrategic nuclear strike can be spotted and responded to with plenty of time left over and without the implicit threat of an absolute scalation policy.
Thak youy for your time.

Diplomatic Dispatch to Pythogrian Government

We applaud your new Nuclear Policy heartily. The use of nuclear arms should never be a decision made lightly despite what other, extreme nations believe. To promote Proportional Nuclear response, The Mondothian Government would like to propose an exchange of embassies with Pythogria to facilitate future diplomatic dialogues.

The nuclear issue is definatly one we feel most comfortable wish and the stance of nod has always been to defned and offensivly use any weapon in our disposal when we deem an enemy capable of inflicting damage to the nod empire, please note that this is neither an applaud nor a letter of confrontation but a gesture of goodwill to the people and leaders of Pythogria that nods nuclear capabilities are not a tool against it. And we will offer assitance in any nuclear research military or peaceful to you
