My nation is based on Anglo Saxon England, before 1066.
The descendants of Harold fled to the ''New English Isles'' after the Battle of Hastings in 1066. Harold's successor, Edgar Ætheling ruled from the time he was thirteen or fourteen (the age he was when he was made King by the Witan), till he was of near old age. His successors continued till the current ruler was on the Throne of Harold. Only the current holder was a girl. She was a 19 year old girl, known as Hermione I was the ruler of this Anglo Saxon nation.
There were mostly men who ruled since 1066, there may have been some female rulers so some would ok with Hermione ruling. In the Cathedral of the Venerable Bede, Hermione made her throne speech, some rulers had done this before.
''My Saxon brethren,
It has been many centuries since 1066 in which we left our ancestral lands for these lands we have called our home. I believe that it is time that we open ourselves like the British in the Isles have done. We will seek new alliances, open new embassies and trade new goods with many nations. It is my wish that we open the Saxon lands, not lock them up.''
The Anglo Saxons hoped for diplomatic relations with other nations.
