The First Strike of the Century (Attn. HailandKill)

International Waters, HailandKill

Images flashed threw the stone mind of Grand Admiral Duma. The images were of when the Killians marched into Cadiz and massacred the residents and Kreigsmarines in an attempt to impress The Kraven Corporation. The Killians initial advance into the city had been hampered due to a surprise attack upon them by the Kreigsmarines, but with the Capitol Police assisting them the Killian Paratroopers eventually pushed into Cadiz and with the help of Kraven--leveled the entire city. The Killians did in revenge for the massacre of the Killian Commonwealth island of Dorthia. Though killing millions of Jagites in response to the deaths of hundreds of thousands of Killians was not the way to go. Duma knew this, he fed off of his hatred, his bitterness towards the Killians. He watched as his own friends died. Prehaps thats why Highest Minister Riyabuo placed him in command of the Jagite Oceania Armada. Duma has calculated everything he could. The Macabees were caught up in the War of Golden Succession--they neutralized any real support Fedor could provide to the Killians. Not to mention the Killians had forces in the Golden Throne which would weaken there overall position--maybe not by much, in a war between blood enemies every little bit helped.

The Jagite-Killian feud started when the Killian Dictator, whos name as long since been forgotten by Jagada, killed five Jagite embassy staff members for no appearnt reason. This lead to Jagada, under the leadership of Hunter Norris, to invade Dornitha, and the rest is history. Jagada had forgotten the whole ordeal until the Killians marches into Cadiz and reduced it to rubble and slag. Now with millions of Jagites dead due to Killian actions--the feud would end with one of the nations bowing down in submission to the other. Jagada was willing to take the risk. The Grande Fleet consisted of hundreds of ships, bound for HailandKill, first and foremost to attack any Killian fleet unfortunate enough to be found in dock--if anything, the Killian civilians would be rudely awakened by flame and brimestone.

Little had the nations whom sought to conquor Jagada know--the Jagites were adaptable peoples. They took military tactics out of every nations war books and implimented it into their own. This day, they would unleash a weapon which would put a smile on the Jenrakians face--chemical weapons. The Jagite Aramda assembled itself according, with most of the bigger ships in front tiers hoping their big guns, missiles, and other array of weapons would prove useful against the Killian Naval Forces.

The Grande Fleet suddenly went dead as the fleet seemed to start. Suddenly from the various Crusiers, Destroyers, and other vessels like them out came dozens of missiles. Cruise missiles to be exact, dozens of them launched at the nearest Killian port destined first and foremost to any Killian vessel unfortunate enough to be close enough to be docked at the time. The idea was to hit not only the docks, but the city itself and force the civilians to fleet more inland to spare them from the fighting which would ensue. Duma's only problem was with the Killian government--their people would be left to the mercy of the Highest Minister. Duma only wanted the Military and Government to be hanged and even withouth New Christendom orders he would hang them.

Thus, as the missiles shined brightly in the morning skies as the White-Star of the Jagite Peoples flapped in the winds of the waters south of HailandKill. The First Strike of the Century had just been launched. Duma stood with a stone cold face watching the missiles taking off. He could only hope the Killian People were ready to pay for the sins of their government.

Somewhere in the Red Bridge Complex:

"Sir," Started an un-named officer of the Northfordian Armed Forces, "one of the merchant ships who have just come into dock has just given us some interesting infomation....it seems his ship-borne radar picked up a huge fleet launching missiles at a foreign port."

"What port is this? Anything friendly?" Replied his superior, curious.

"Not sure Sir. All we've been given is a second hand report. Apparently, the people being attacked are allies with Kraven" said the young cadet.

"Oh, well that complicates things. We'll keep an eye on it, see what happens"

Skies over International Waters, near HailandKill

The small AWACS was doing its usual patrol over its assigned sector of Killian waters. Ever since the AutoMagFreek threat of invasion to The Kraven Corporation and her supporters, the NSA had been gravely worried of threat of invasion. His concerns were due to the fact that HailandKill gave support to The Kraven Corporation in Jagada. Because of his fears he initiated the STRATWATCH. The STRATWATCH was a strategically designed command containing many AWACS which would vigilantly patrol all of the Killian national waters. The strategic watch had been initiated for only a week now, but the pilots flying the missions day and night were already sick of it. AWACS birds were always in the air, covering every proverbial inch of Killian waters. Needless to say pilots were operating on a work-sleep schedule; there would be no time for them. SCA-34 was no different that her sisters; she too was an AWACS patrolling the skies and seas with her powerful radar systems. Her pilots were, like many other, were sick of monitoring their radar screens day and night….until now. SCA-34 had picked up a fast moving armada, closing in on Killian national waters. SCA-34 had been in close contact with the Killian National Security Agency for the last twenty minutes explaining the entire situation as it unfolded. The two groups of people, the pilots and defense analysts, had determined that if this fleet crossed into Killian waters without any transmission that they would be deemed hostile, and dealt with accordingly.

At 2347 the armada passed into Killian waters from the south. The AWACS immediately noted that they were north bound at a speed of about 29 knots. The nearest port city was Mustang, a joint civilian and military port. Civilians were immediately evacuated from the nearest reaches of the sea to a part of the city that was farther from the sea. All Kriegsmarine sailors were awakened from their peaceful slumber in the military section of the port. Men could be heard scrambling to their ships as PA systems announced, "Enemy fleet closing on the homeland, this is not a drill! I repeat enemy fleet closing on the homeland, this is not a drill! Report immediately to your assigned ship! Many men were groggy but awake as they made it to their assigned posts. About three fleets were in that port due to its southern location. The south was the closest to The Macabees, and having any amount of fleets closest to that landmass would be of the most strategical value. As the final men were boarding their ships the admirals received their orders. They were to attack the armada, and if necessary delay a possible invasion. The mooring lines on all ships were cast off at 0026.

The first Jagite missiles came crashing down into an empty port, destroying docks and buildings alike. However, all the ships were a few miles out to sea and none of them touched by the cruise missiles flying above them. The civilian populace was harmed, however, and thousands of men, women, and children were killed by missiles. The evacuation had only worked slightly….

On the way to Mustang, and the surrounding cities and towns were a single army, and eight Mechanized Infantry brigades. If the Killian Kriegsmarine failed, the enemy would be dealing with the elite units of HailandKill.

Killian National Waters

Admiral William McKinney was the overall commander of the three fleets, and he was sipping his coffee as he watched the radar screen. He was on the command deck of HKS Feathermore, a full sized superdreadnought. He knew that the enemy, whoever they were, was still out of missile and shelling range. However they were not out of sortie range and the admiral already had carriers prepared to launch at a moments notice. He decided the moment would be now, as he figured the faster he attacked, the faster he could throw the enemy into confusion. At 0230 the first fighters began to ascend into the night sky from 1st fleets carriers. All in all about thee hundred planes lifted into the night sky. The F/A-22 fighters were flying the highest altitude with their IFF squawks and active radar on. With both the squawks and targeting computers on, the fighter cover was giving off a lot of electronical "noise". Flying mid-altitude were the esteemed F/B-22 bombers; the F/B-22's were a custom Killian design based off of the successful F/A-22. The only difference was the F/B-22 was primarily used for bombing and heavy missile fighting. The F/B-22's were flying with both their squawks and targeting computers off. They were also flying just under mach-1, making them near invisible to the enemy radar systems. The lowest altitude of fighters was the GLI-76 Falcons. These planes were specially designed to be stealth, and their LIDAR absorbent paint, IR suppressants, and smooth design were already working against the enemy radars.

The F/A-22's were coming near the enemy fleet as the first pilots began to get electronical "screams" from their computers that they were being targeted. The enemies SAM systems had picked them up, as planned, and were launching missiles at the enemy above. The Killian's came prepared for this because it was the plan to distract SAM batteries as the bombers and multi-role aircraft smashed their missiles into the enemy below. Chaff canisters and heat flares were being shot off by the dozens as the Killian pilots began maneuvering to avoid getting hit by missiles. The pilots then realized it was like they were a small child attacking a beehive. The "beehive" had awoken with a fury and intensity, stinging the pilots not with stingers, but with missiles. Dozens of unlucky Killian's either ejected or died in the first moments of the naval battle. Their loss was acceptable to the admiralty of the fleet, because at the moment the SAM batteries were distracted with the F/A-22's, the F/B-22's turned on their targeting computers. The amount of enemy planes on the enemies radar doubled as the bombers began choosing their targets. The bombers primary targets were the pocket dreadnoughts picked up, and their ordinance was adjusted for their target needs. The F/B-22's were loaded to the brim with Macabee Sledgehammer anti-dreadnought missiles. These missiles were specially designed for use against regular dreadnoughts, and the pilots were imagining how they would fare against mere pocket dreadnoughts. The F/B-22 pilots launched their missiles when their computer finalized the coordinates and proceeded to bank. After a successful launch the pilots were scrambling back home. The lowest altitude of fighters was just about to make their attack runs as well. With more chaos added from the sledgehammers, the Falcon's were going to go pretty much unnoticed. The Falcons were choosing their targets amongst the carrier fleets. The Falcons were loaded with Sledgehammer missiles as well for maximum penetration. The pilots were choosing their individual targets, and programming the missiles to slam into the weaker underside of the carriers. As the pilots and their fighters neared the carriers, they fired their missiles. More and more missiles rippled from under the wings of the fighters towards this still unknown enemy. The Falcons had the toughest job, and it was not finished after they launched their deadly payload. The falcons each had a five hundred pound bomb attached to the bottom of their fighter, and their next task was to drop it on the flight decks of the enemy carriers to prevent aircraft launch. Many of the Falcon pilots hit their afterburners to make the attack run over as fast as possible. No matter how fast they were, they still started taking losses from the carrier SAM missiles. Despite the losses the missiles were causing, various pilots were able to drop their bombs on the flight decks. After the ordeal was finished, the Falcons banked and hauled ass back to the friendly fleet.

The enemy, whoever they were, had just gotten a nasty surprised from the Killian Luftwaffe.

Killian National Waters

Admiral Duma frowned as reports came in that the Killian Ports were empty and all that had hit were civilian targets or empty warehouses. He had hoped the Killians wouldn't suspect a Jagite, or any attack, upon their home soil with the Golden Throne so close by. Though he had anticipated it nontheless, regardless of how much he depised the Killians escaping the hailstorm of cruise missiles. Officers and various communication and sensory stations began shouting at the Admiral in various tones of voices. Threw it all he got the overall picture: the Killian Fleet had left port and was on its way, and that Killian Aircraft were inbound. Duma immiedately barked a variety of orders. First amoung them was for the Fleet to be prepared for an attack, it already was of coarse, but it never hurt to remind the men that they were in battle. Second, was for the FJA-34 'Teutonic' Fighter-Jets to immiedately take off. Duma realized that this wasn't simply a recon in force, nor was a general strike on his fleet. He knew the Killians were masters of warfare, or else they'd have lost in the War of Golden Succession long ago. He knew that whatever they were planning, that it was simple but complex in its own way, effective, and generally damaging.

As the Killian F/A-22s came in the Jagite SAM sites filled the night sky with dozens and dozens of missiles. The sky was illuminated with the fireballs of Killian F/A-22s exploding in mid-flight. While the F/A-22s were the main target of the SAMs, it was safe to say that they did not make the SAM's targeting systems dependant upon them. Around the time the F/B-22s were coming in with their Sledgehammer Missiles, the FJA-34s were in the air and en masse. Dozens of aircraft launched out to intercept the F/B-22s only to find them launching Sledgehammer Missiles. A few sledgehammers hit the FJA-34s as they had a head-on collision. Though seeing the F/B-22s turn and run and having their radars, along with ground reports indicate that Falcons were already preparing to attack--turned the wrath of the Teutonics upon these aircraft. Before many of the Falcon's could get their missiles off they were pounced upon by the Teutonics in a vengeful rage. Several air-to-air missiles were launched at the Falcons--some would hit, some would miss, and some would do something in between. Needless to say, the Falcons came out to the Jagite Aramada with hopes of glory and reputation--they would go home with body bags and losses.

As the last of the Falcon's turned and fled, or fell from the sky in a fireball--the damage was surveyed. Various ships lay on fire and sinking. Sledgehammer missiles had ripped apart the Independant-Class Pocket Dreadnaught known as the JGFS 'Rising Tide' has he now disappeared before the blue waters. The other two pocket battleships had suffered moderate and minor damage--and would be able to continue serving in this battle. Two Swiftsure-class light carriers were now permnant occupants of the ocean floor. Though the CIWS system, installed on the ships shortly after their arrival, permitted many ships to remain afloat, or with only minor damage. Duma's flag ship as indeed the Heavy-Carrier the JGFS 'Thunder Clap'. He looked over the damage reports with surprise--he'd expected more damage, but the CWIS system has proven more effective than originally thought.

While still outside of sonar, radar, and lidar range the Jagite Submarine Fleet, sitting under the three surface fleets stopped, and allow the ships to forward. This may have left the Grande Aramada completely exposed if the Frigates in the fleet hadn't been equipt for anti-submarine warfare. The Submarine Fleet split in two and did very wide pincer maneuvars preparing to strike when the time was right--when the Killians least expected it. Though the Jagite plan called for more than that. It called for the siezing of Killian Ships. Onboard various Jagite ships were the Jagite Special Forces known as the Phantoms. They had, after the Falcon's turned and fled began to the rapid task of getting into their Ossippee-class special operations boats. Close to seventy five of these craft were filled with Phantoms. As the Jagite Fleet had haulted. These special operations boats were lowered into the water, and like a mini-fleet of these boats took off towards the unsuspecting Killian Fleet. These ships were too small to be see on any sensory equipment, and equip enough so that in the darkness of the night would be invisiable to the eyes of men, and quiet enough not to attract attention. They kept themsleves widespread enough so that if one was found and destroyed, the enemy may suspect that the attack was simply a single attempt by one craft.

All in all--Duma's plan was working perfectly.

Killian National Waters

The skies over the developing naval battle were a real fright. Scores of Killians were going down in flames from the Jagite missiles. The pilots did not expect this to be a cake walk and they knew that they could die in this battle; however the thought of death did not scare them. The Falcons were the worst hit out of all the attackers. Scores of Falcons fell to the sea in their death throes; they were a real testament to the horrors of battle. The F/B-22's escaped relatively unharmed, but they took somewhat of a nasty hit. The F/A-22's did not have it as easy as the other fighters; they were support and cover, a task they were fulfilling to the max right now. As the first Jagite fighters came inbound they were immediately picked up by the Killian fighters. The Killians computers were already choosing targets as the fighters were dipping and dodging incoming SAMs. As the Jagites came into attack them, many of the pilots acted as if they were still occupied with the missiles. As the Jagites came swooping in to attack, thinking that this was going to be easy pickings, the Killians shot into the air vertically. As they were making their climb with the Jagites on their tales, the pilots turned off their engines. The Killian F/A-22's started dropping vertically to the ground as the Jagites still climbed upward. The Jagites were going to eventually pass the Killians, putting them in the sights of the pilots. This was a well practiced strategy, as the Killians perfected it when they faced off against SafeHaven. The pilots that the Jagites were facing were the surviving, well seasoned veterans of Targul Frumos. As the Jagites finally passed the vertically descending Killians, many of the pilots fired up their afterburners jerking many pilots into the back of their seats. The Killians were now pursuing the pursuers, and as they did many Killians fired off their MTAAM-3 AAM missiles at the enemy. The force was significantly weakened by the Jagites, but the survivors and vets were making the Jagites fight hard for an aerial victory.

As the main aerial battle was being fought, a small force of Killian pilots descended instead of ascending. They came down hard on the Jagites who were harassing the Falcon survivors, MTAAM-3 missiles streaking off their wings. The pilots knew what it was like to be engaged by a tougher enemy, like the falcon pilots were learning now, and wanted to save as many lives as possible. Coming from above the F/A-22 pilots had the advantage and they were exploiting it, firing off as many air-to-air missiles as they could. After the first sweep, the Jagites were fully aware of the new Killian fighters. The Killian pilots knew this and banked as fast as possible to get behind their enemies. If they were successful, 30mm Vulcan cannons were blazing lead and fire and the enemy. If the Killians weren’t successful, the pilots kept trying to outmaneuver and outflank their new enemies.

HKS Feathermore

All of the aerial propagations were being monitored by the HKS Feathermore. Admiral McKinley watched, without emotion, as friendly and enemy blips disappeared off of the radar. McKinley looked at his XO, and said "Are we in shelling range yet?"

The XO replied, "Only our galleons and superdreadnoughts. However, we are in missile range."

"Ok, launch the seconds fleets fighters after first fleets come back. Then launch the first volley of missiles. Also order all dreadnoughts and galleons to fire on the enemy dreadnoughts."

"Aye sir!"

---

The admiral's orders were being done as soon as possible, but the wait to carry them out, was on the returning Falcons and F/B-22's. The admirals timing was actually very good, because as the last of the surviving Falcons and F/B-22's came aboard first fleets three carriers, the dreadnoughts, galleons, and VLT systems were in optimal range. The three superdreadnoughts opened up with their thirty-two 711mm electromagnetic guns, each dreadnought targeting a different enemy pocket dreadnought. The amount of noise the dreadnoughts were spewing was deafening to any soul on the outside of any Killian ship in the area. The Galleons, like their counterparts, were firing their large weapons at the unknown enemy; but unlike the regular superdreadnoughts, each individual galleon was aiming their nine quadruple mounts at the enemy heavy carriers. Both the galleons and dreadnoughts were taking every natural element into account when the operators were firing; wind, waves, and pressure were all accounted for. With everything taken into account, the shelling from the largest ships in the Killian navy was godly accurate. The black sky filled with fire and large shells from the dreadnoughts and galleons alone. The next thing to start firing from the dreadnoughts was the vertical launch tubes. Blocks of VLS batteries immediately came online, and the operators of the VLS blocks automatically started choosing target from amongst the enemy as if they were machines. Training took care of telling the operators which ships to attack with the missiles and the main targets were chosen amongst more carriers and battleships. When the targets were finalized, the first missiles came screaming out of the VLS tubes. The anti-shipping missiles lit up the sky with orange fire trails. The missiles immediately changed course for the enemy fleet mere seconds after being launched. The homing devices in the missiles were not human, thus they would not err. Despite the ridiculous amounts of missiles streaking off the galleons and dreadnoughts, the worst would come when the cruisers prepared to fire.

The cruisers and destroyers were preparing to fire, to keep the enemy in as much disarray as possible. The Ilium class destroyers were already picking targets amongst the heavier, non-dreadnought/carrier class, ships. When the elements were taken into account, the VLS operators began to finalize their choice of targets. The first missiles came streaking out of the VLS blocks spewing fire, and smoke. The destroyer ring was giving the enemy a fair share of missiles to deal with. The night sky was turned from black to orange with all the missiles coming from the destroyers, and many men watching the fire show found themselves coughing from all the smoke. However the destroyers were adding their own shells into the mix, despite the fact that they were a mere 304mm. The shells from the destroyers were aimed at the lightest ships the enemy had; this meant that they would do the most damage. The next class of ships to begin firing was the heavy cruisers. The cruisers packed as much punch as the destroyers despite the fact that they were smaller. The first missiles coming out of the cruisers were also shockhound avengers, and by the large amounts fired, the missiles were going to live up to their name. The heavy cruisers used the VLS system more than any of her counterparts, firing off more missiles, and wasting more ordinances in the name of battle. The more numerous cruisers and light cruisers began firing the same missiles from their VLS tubes, adding yet more smoke, fire, and haze to the night. The lesser cruisers were rippling off disgusting amounts of missiles, trying to rival the combined galleons, dreadnoughts, and destroyers. They were coming close because of the efficiency of the VLS system, which would fire, swivel, reload the empty tube while firing from a new tube, and repeat the process again. All in all, the destroyer and cruiser rings were putting up quite the impressive amounts of missiles. If it wasn’t night already, the smoke trails may have well turned the day into night.

However, throwing disgusting amounts of missiles into the air was not McKinley's only plan. As the missiles made their way to the enemy fleet, aircraft was being launched from the decks of second fleet's carriers. More Falcons and F/B-22's were being put in the air, their bellies loaded with Sledgehammers and MLAM-2's. The aircraft were following the path of the missiles directly, as the plan was to hit the enemy fleet while their SAM batteries were low from the missile attack. Both the Falcons and F/B-22's were on the same mid altitude flight path. They both neared the enemy at the same time, and both of them fired off their large missiles at the same time. With the enemy aircraft pre-occupied by Killian dogfighting, many of the bomber pilots were not afraid of being chased after they fired. The targets were the same as the earlier sortie, with many of the pilots choosing the pocket dreadnoughts and light carriers. Almost every missile came shooting towards their targets at the same time due to the great synchronization of the pilots. With much luck, the enemy SAM batteries would have been significantly lowered from the missile attack giving the incoming aerial missiles more of a chance to successfully hit, and maybe kill.

Killian National Waters

The national waters of HailandKill were experiancing warfare beyond words. As the night sky was illuminated by the light of fireballs which use to be technologically advanced fighter-bombers and fighter-aircraft the crews of the Jagite Grande Armada worked tirelessly trying to make repairs, refill CIWS guns, refill the SAMs, and generally get the Armada ready for a second attack, or an attack on the Killian Fleet itself. Duma watched from the JGFS 'Thunder Clap', a Heavy-Carrier, as the Killian Fleet continued to, in his mind, grind itself into dust against the iron wall that was the Jagite Grande Armada. The Jagite Fleet prepared itself, before the Killian missiles even came within range, to fire its own missiles--to deliver the first strike. Thus as both Fleets came just within range of each other, the night sky was illuminated even more as flames errupted from VLS blocks as dozens of anti-ship missiles shot away from the Jagite Fleet towards its Killian counterpart.

Though the Killian Fleet did not remain quiet, and had launched its own missiles by this point. Thus just as the Jagite missiles were reigning down chaos and destruction upon the Killian Fleet, missiles from that fleet began to rain similar unspeakable horrors down upon the Jagites. Though, due to the CIWS system the damage was lighter than expected. Like all things in life, the CIWS wasn't able to stop all the missiles, but did manage to stop a deal of them. Sadly some destroyers and cruisers met their end as the Killian missiles ripped them apart like savage animals to a helpless human, before their crews even realized what was occuring they were already standing before the Almighty for Judgement. Duma was becoming annoyed at the losses we was suffering--the Killians were putting up more of a fight than once expected. Nontheless, the Killian Fleet would soon be nothing more than decoration for the bottom of their own national waters. Above the Jagite Fleet, the remnants of the Killian F/A-22s, whom were the most experianced as the inexperianced now were residents of the deep blue ocean, fought bitterly with the Jagite pilots, whom despite being shot down were actually learning from the Killians. Their tactic of cutting off their engine, allowing the Jagite plane to get into favourable position, then cutting them back on and blasting the Teutonic out of the sky was genious in the eyes of the Jagite pilots. Though they saw the folly of this as some of the Killian plans didn't restart and fell into the ocean. Needless to say, those that didn't restart didn't fire their missile, so that Jagite plan got away and technically took out an enemy aircraft without cost to the Republic. Thus stratgey, while effectively knocking Jagite planes out of the air, would have a backlash upon the Killians. Due to superior numbers the Jagite planes who did escape took advantage of the Killian numbers being reduced so much by their own tactics, and launched a couter-strike. Firing missiles and using their 30mm Vulcan cannons. All in all, the battle above the Jagite Fleet was costing the Republic a deal of planes, but at the same time was sending Killian pilots, along with their vast vetern-record an invaluble experiance, to the bottom of the ocean. If Jagada didn't win this naval battle, at least the Killians would have more 'greens' in their air force, giving Jagada an advantage in future engagements.

A Cruiser was sailing along, just after launching its missile, attempting to reload its SAMs, and repairing the light damage it took when a Killian plane, whos cutting his engines stratgey didn't work, slammed into the front of the Crusier and exploded. Though this crew wouldn't have to worry about putting out the flames, or rolling the burning aircraft off the ships. Moments later one of the massive 711mm shells from the SuperDreadnaughts of the Killian fleet, slammed right in the city of the Cruiser and litterly blew it into two pieces, it has struck their ammo chambers. Though this was a stray round, as the Pocket Dreadnaughts were the aim of the SuperDreadnaughts. The JGFS 'Morrowind', named after a popular game in Jagada, was the first one hit by one of the massive 711mm shells, the ship did not sink luckily. Though its counterpart, the other Pocket Dreadnaught, the JGFS 'Freedomtopia' was it four times by the 711mm shells and was basically shredded, sinking in less than a minute with no survivors.

With the major guns of the Grande Armada now sinking or immobilized, the 711mm shells now reigned down on the next best thing--the Battleships. Though these battleships were also in range, and fired their own guns. These guns were the 610mm ETC guns that were all targeted. There were twelve of these battleships, thus four battleships per SuperDreadnaught. This allowed the SuperDreadnaughts to be hit with guns nearly as big and powerful as theirs. With so many shells reigning down, even if they were destroyed, they would knock the SuperDreadnaughts out of the battle. Due that these battleships were Trinity-Class, they weren't as expensive as the SuperDreadnaughts of the Killian Fleet, and in the long run would cost the Imperial Republic more.

Though as the dogfight in the air began to come to a close--with the Killians slowly, but surely being overwhelmed by the Jagite numbers and moderate experiance. Though as this fight began to draw to a close, the Killians launched a second wave of F/B-22s and Falcons. By the time they reached the Jagite Fleet, the second wave of Jagite Teutonics launched from the various carriers still very much active. The F/B-22s did catch two more light carriers by surprise doing moderate damage, which would probably put them out of the fight, but not sunk. Though the F/B-22s couldn't do as much damage as they probably wanted to do. As the Falcons prepared to go in an damage even more light carriers, and ships--the SAM sites lit up. These sites began to knock both Falcon and F/B-22 out of the sky.

All the while this was going on...the Special Forces moving slowly but surely towards the Killian Fleet--while the Submarines continued their long pincer move--coming very closer to the Killian fleet, but just beyond sensory range. Soon the stalemate of a battle, seeming to go in the Killian favor, would be turned into the Jagite favor.

Killian National Waters

From the command bridge of his ship, admiral McKinley watched one of the new Feathermore class dreadnoughts slip into the part of deep blue ocean that was Killian national waters. He had not expected such a harsh and swift reprisal from the enemy after they took such a pounding from the dreadnoughts and galleons. Despite his oversight and its cost, the Killian fleet was had not been damaged as bad as he had originally thought during this enemy counter-attack. CIWS platforms had come to the rescue, downing most of the largest incoming shells. The CIWS platforms were hardly used in times of battle in which there were many ships surrounding a dreadnought or galleon, but the Killian admiral had decided to only use them against shelling attacks. CIWS platforms were not magical and the sinking of the dreadnought, and damage to one of the galleons was a testament to this fact. By the time the shelling damage was surveyed, enemy missile launch had been detected by the fleet via AWACS. When the enemy missiles were picked up by the radars of various ships themselves, the countermeasure operators started doing their jobs by putting the praetorian SAM systems online. Many of the ships countermeasure operatives were calmly tracking the missiles while the countermeasures computers calculated the speeds, trajectories, and element factors. When the time was right, the ring of cruisers and destroyers let loose with their P.746.X Praetorian surface to air missiles from the vertical launch systems. If missiles were detected too close to the heavier ships, they too unleashed their surface to air missiles to defeat the enemy attack. Scores of missiles launched from the decks of the ships, all of them headed towards a different enemy missile. It was safe to say that not all of them would hit, but the CIWS platforms had been turned on in the cruiser ring, because any flak that missed would land in the ocean, rather than a friendly ship. Most of the small missile attack either ended in mid-air as SAM missiles collided with the enemy missiles, or mere yards from cruisers as CIWS platforms mowed into the missiles. When the missile attack was over a few cruisers were badly torn apart, and already on their descent to the ocean floor. The survivors were ready to pick up the pieces.

The ring of cruisers and destroyers still had targets on their screens from the previous Killian attack; this meant that time would not be wasted selecting new targets. This was especially important because time was of the absolute essence in this battle. However, some new targets were being put into the targeting computers as they prepared to fire. Just like the last attack, targets were finalized and missiles began streaking out of the vertical launch systems in massive amounts numbers. The missile type had changed though, going from shockhound avengers to sledgehammer anti-dreadnought missiles. The anti-dreadnought missiles that the cruisers and destroyers did carry were few, but against the smaller ships that the cruisers and destroyers were targeting, one missile penetrating SAM batteries and CIWS platforms would be devastating. The Killian missiles made bright streaks as they left the vertical launch systems, and with the sheer amount fire it seemed like broad daylight instead of early dawn. Missile retribution would be massive and swift.

While the cruisers and destroyers rippled off their hellish killers, the dreadnoughts, galleons, and now in range battleships, were choosing targets to hit with their massive guns. The galleons and dreadnoughts were still going to fire amongst the larger targets, but mainly the pesky enemy battleships that had cost the fleet a dreadnought and seven thousand lives. The first galleons opened up only a few minutes after the missile attack started. This time the Killians were not going to separate their missile and shelling attack, but rather throw it all together in one jumble that the enemy countermeasures would have to sort out and attempt to defeat. The first galleons opened up with their nine quadruple mount twenty-five inchers on a battleship apiece. As of right now three battleships were being targeted by the galleons, which were originally made as superdreadnought killers. The turret operators shuddered to think what a galleon would do a regular battleship as they programmed the targets, and calculated the natural elements to improve overall shell accuracy. The next ships to open up in the Killian arsenal were the regular superdreadnoughts, their 711mm electromagnetic guns targeting the enemy battleships as well. The huge electromagnetic cannons were deathly accurate, even more so as the operators took their time calculating important factors. The last attack from both the galleons and superdreadnoughts was a bit haphazard, causing shells to miss and stray off their targets. With the enemy currently dealing with incoming missiles, the turret operators took their sweet time to make every shot count. The newest addition to the shelling was the new Kristik class battleships. The battleships were now in range, and their four, triple mount 508mm EM cannons were being aimed at the heavier enemy carriers. The battleship turret operators, like their dreadnought counterparts, were taking their time inputting information into the targeting computers. When the four triple mount cannons on each of the combined battleships of the combined fleets opened up, the carriers were going to pay dearly for sending their deadly aircraft into the air. Their were more battleships in the fleet, these being the older Elusive class boats. The Elusives were already in a program to be scrapped for the newer battleships, but those that were not scrapped were sent to sea once again to defend the homeland. The Elusive class ships were not bad for their age, adding a decent amount of eighteen inch electromagnetic shells. The older ships may have had smaller guns, but they were sure as hell doubling the number of their newer, bigger counterparts. The shells from the Elusives were not as precisely aimed, but with all the shell spamming, they would crash into something. The noise and smoke pollution of the combined heavy ships would etch itself into the minds of all the sailors that day. The enemy would pay dearly for attacking Killians on their own turf.

As the first part of the attack was finishing up, the roles of the destroyers and heavy ships reversed. As the missile attack was wrapping up, destroyers began to target the smaller cruisers of the enemy fleets with their 304mm guns. The guns were small, but could pump out many rounds, making them efficient. Add that fact to the fact that the destroyers were choosing small, less armored ships, their shells wouldn’t be fired in vain. The combined destroyers of the four fleets finally opened up with their guns, pumping out many rounds at the smaller escort ships of the enemy. The rounds weren’t as precisely aimed as the larger ships, but the sheer amount would make some sort of impact. As the missile ships were firing their small guns, the larger dreadnoughts and galleons were using their smaller VLS blocks to fire off sledgehammer missiles at anything that could be programmed into the firing computers. The versatility of Killian shipping would cost the enemy.

Things were not going as good in the air as they were in the sea. The new attack force of Falcons and F/B-22’s had taken more of a beating than that of the previous attack, significantly cutting their numbers. The survivors of the SAM battery counter-attacks turned, and throttled up back to the friendly fleets. Needless to say, the enemy would not see a bomber attack for a few hours. The bombers and multi-role aircraft of the Luftwaffe needed to recoup and lick its wounds. Up above in the skies, the fighter pilots were doing the best they could to avoid enemy missiles using plentiful amounts of chaff and heat flares. Many of the pilots were fighting to the death, or mainly their death, for the country. As more and more enemy planes poured into the sky the pilots knew they had to lure them back over the Killian fleets, were SAM batteries not occupied with incoming missile attacks could take down the enemy planes. The pilots knew that the death toll was atrocious, and if the Killians had a remote chance of winning the air war they had to retreat. As enemy SAM came at the fighters after they mopped up the Falcons and F/B-22’s the pilots increased their altitude sharply. The leaders of the F/A-22’s began broadcasting to the destroyers and cruisers to prepare remaining VLS batteries to fire at incoming fighters. If any enemy pilot dared to chase after the fleeting Killians they would pay with their lives. The pilots that survived any retribution began coming down on their respective carriers. While fighters came down, third fleets carriers launched their fresh pilots into the air on a patrol only mission. These fighters were just going to make sure that the Killians held the air over their own fleet, and if anyone challenged this hell would ensue.

Down below the waves, the sub pack made up of Cartegena class submarines silently bided their time. During the naval encounter with SafeHaven, the Killians learned that the best anti-submarine warfare ships were submarines themselves. The submarines were not moving, so they were invisible to any incoming ship, or submarine. The Killian submarines did not have the slightest clue if their was any enemy subs in the area, but they weren’t going to give their position away by turning on the active radar. The sub pack made a huge circle around the fleet, mirroring the circle of the cruisers. They would make sure there would be no holes underwater, or above water.
