29-04-2006, 10:03
Background: Founded after Albert Hasek led a powerful nationalist movement that overthrew colonial occupiers, the following government placed Albert Hasek as King of the nation and set the Hasek Family as the official ruling family of the nation.
Geography
Description: Loudain is an island nation resembling England roughly only with a larger landmass. The nation is seperated by a large mountain range that affects the climate of the nation and seperates it into two climate zones.
Climate: The northern climate zone, where the capitol is located, is similiar to that of Russian Saint Petersburg. The summers are short and temperate but the winters come quick and hard with blizzards, heavy snowfall, and occasional ice storms. This climate is attributed to the Talmadge Mountains which keep cold fronts locked in the north. The southern climate zone is temperate with lush land used for agriculture. The very southern tip of the nation is closest to a tropical climate but can get cold now and then during winter.
Natural Hazards: Harsh winters affect the northern climate zone and sometimes block off entire roads. Rarely though has a winter ever shutdown a seaport. In the south, tornados are the real hazards to farmers and ranchers who occupy the pocketed flatlands that attract tornado activity.
