In the nation of Galata-Pera, the King, Constantine XI ruled for many years, living in the Palace of Blachernae in Constantinople. However, he passed away from an illness. His only son (he had a sister, named Theodora but only men could rule the nation) was to be his successor. His son was 11 years of age and was named Demetrios. Demetrios was talking to his sister, Theodora when some officals came to Demetrios, saying ''By order of King Constantine XI, Demetrios, you are to be the next King.'' They took him to the Throne Room and sat him on the Throne which was in front of a mosaic of the Theotokos.

A priest of the Church and others came to the Throne Room. They coronated him as they had done with those before him and he was blessed by the priest. His sister congratulated him also.

Demetrios was now known as ''King Demetrios III, King of Galata-Pera......'' Demetrios, during his coronation and his first day as King wore purple and gold robes with a golden scepter and crown.

All waited to see how this child now King would rule the nation.

If anyone would like diplomatic relations, you can just ask for some as any would do.

Out-of-character: Gosh, my nation is warlike.

The Kirisuban Airforce jet arrives at the international airport as scheduled and Crown Princess Genjiko descends from the small jet with her 2 female guards.

Genjiko is dressed in a pale blue kimono and has the classic asian looks and long dark hair. Her guards look similar to her but wear practical black trouser suits with a short sword and a holstered pistol on their belts.

Some officals escorted Genjiko to the Palace. When they got there, Demetrios was with some officals and his sister. ''You must be Genjiko. Welcome!'' Demetrios said to Genjiko. ''What would you like to discuss?'' said Demetrios.

Genjiko bows and says "greetings King Demetrios and I see you want to get straight to business.

I am Crown Princess Genjiko of the Kirisuban Imperial family and my sisters government wishes to discuss the setting up of diplomatic relations between our two nations"

Demetrios nodded and said ''It is a pleasurable honor to meet you.'' ''What things does your sister's government seek?'' Demetrios inquired before talking to his sister for a bit.

As they sit Genjiko's guards split up, one heading to the door and the other standing a few metres away from her to give the princess a bit of space.

"your majesty, the Empress initially wants an embassy exchange and then as we get to know each other better our diplomats can discuss trade agreements and other things.

As this is a first meeting it makes sense to start small and see how far we get. We have the space in existing buildings or your nation could build its own embassy"

"a building on the Edo waterfront would probally suit your purposes" Princess Genjiko replies "they're close enough to the city centre to be practical for your staff but far enough away to give a sense of peace and quiet"

having memorised the agenda that her sister gave her she continues in accented english "the Empresses government is also after a trade agreement so our nations can exchange their products and enrich both our cultures. she also wants to encourage sporting and cultural links as well.

an agreement on the exact details of taxation and tarrif levels is probally best left to the diplomatic corp and accountants but we could hammer out the basics of it while I'm here"

''A building there would be wonderful.'' Demetrios' sister remarked. ''A cultural exchange sounds good.'' Demetrios said. ''Sporting exchanges are also good.'' he said.

''Let's discuss the basics then.'' Demetrios said.

"Princess Theodora" Genjiko replies "Kirisubo has a strong culture based round honour, duty and compassion and a lot of our cultural activities draw from that.

We have Sumo wrestling, traditional forms of music and dancing as practiced by Geisha as well as our festivals"

Turning to the King she says "Your Majesty, we play soccer, rugby union and baseball in Kirisubo. I also play polo and was on the royal team when my father was Emperor.

so perhaps there is a common sport that a Kirisuban team could play a Galatan team in.

regarding trade i have been asked to seek a tentative agreement on reduced or special rates of taxes and tarrifs for Kirisuban companys exporting to Galata-Pera and vice versa. even free trade may be available later on"

the Crown Princess got a writing case from one of her guards and in English drafted a friendship agreement while consulting with the King and Princess Theodora.

the main points were this.

* an agreement on the exchange of embassies between the Empire of Kirisubo and Galata-Pera. guards and personel to be limited to sidearms and swords only.
* the agreeing of cultural visits and sporting events between the two nations
* favourable trade conditions involving reduced taxes and tarrifs between the two nations with a more detailed trade agreement to be negotiated later

Crown Princess Genjiko signs it in Kanji and English and says "this friendship agreement will be a beginning from which our governments and people can develop later on"

Theodora handed the treaty to Demetrios who signed it. ''Any other business?'' an offical asked.

"I think this covers everything I was asked to discuss" Genjiko replies "but since I'm in your country it makes sense to end the formal meeting and getting down to knowing each other and our nations better in an informal setting such as dinner"

Demetrios nodded. ''That is a good idea. You can stay for dinner.'' he said. Demetrios showed Genjiko her room and later on, Theodora brought her to the dining room. They had foods like sachertorte. baklava and others. ''What should we talk about first?'' Theodora asked.

Crown Princess Genjiko smiles and says as she cuts up the Baklava into smaller pieces "Princess Theodora my nation is an ancient one dating back 1000 years. We have had high points and setbacks but we have always had the same ruling family all that time. The cherry blossom throne has always been held by an Empress or Emperor even before the Kirisuban Federation was born and became the Empire after the civil war.

My people are hard working, value honour, compassion and duty and we all live in harmony with each other. Crime and poverty is non existant in the Empire and we enjoy great equality"

she eats a piece of the Baklava enjoying it.

Theodora listened to the Crown Princess talk about her nation. ''What a fasicinating and interesting nation you come from.'' Theodora remarked. ''I hope that diplomatic relations stay strong.'' Demetrios said. ''You like baklava? It is good, I know.'' Demetrios said.

Genjiko nods and replies "your majesty, I've found myself liking it.

Whats Galata-Pera like then? I read some information on the plane journey but it was scarce. A printout can only tell you so much and a nations king can tell you so much more"

she was feeling quite full by now as she was used to small meals given her usual workload and the trips she made across the empire and overseas.

''That is excellent. Anything else you require or will you be heading off?'' an offical asked politely.

"I believe this covers everything" Genjiko replied to the official "and it was a most profitable meeting.

If your king or anyone from the royal family wishes to make a return visit I would be delighted to host them and show them the sights. the winter sports season has finished but theres still a lot to do in Kirisubo"

''We will consider a return visit, thank you for your compliments and wish you well.'' was the reply.

after a photocopy was made of the initial treaty Crown Princess Fujiko was returned to the airport still finding her pilot tired.

so she booked into an good airport hotel for the night so her pilot could recover and she got a good nights sleep in preparation for the return to Kirisubo.
