The Fiefdom of Becketshire was led by a Earl (I am studying fiefdoms) who ruled as best as he could do. The national religion was the Free Church of Becketshire which although not directly aligned to it, used the Anglican Book of Common Prayer in a revised way. The Earl, Charles Montgomery (may change later) raised a daughter, Elizabeth as a single parent. His fiefdom was a nice one, peaceful and prosperous. However, the Earl began to feel that his fiefdom was isolated. After conferring with some of his assistants, the Earl decided to send a message of diplomacy out to all nations:

''Greetings. I am the Earl of Becketshire. I would like to know if any nation would like to open diplomatic relations with my fiefdom.''

The Earl rested in at his mansion after going to church and hoped that nations would open diplomacy with his nation.

OOC: Yeah, I just wanted to know whether I could bring in ships carrying heavy equipment, or if I was limited to what I could fly in.

Several large millitary transport planes touched down in Becketshire. Construction workers came out and started unloading equipment.

OOC: Out of curiosity are you independent earldom without a lord, or do you have a liege, if you are looking for a liege I am willing to take you in as semi-independent earldom in my empire.

If you join the Scandinvan Empire as a semi-independent earldom all of your soldiers and aristocracy/nobility shall be given full imperial citizenship and all other freepersons given auxiliary citizenship. As well, your lands will be put under imperial protection and your people will be allowed to trade freely in our lands. Also, you will be allowed to retain your own leadership and traditions, nearly entirely free from imperial intervention.

That sounds good. Becketshire would like it if it would be able to keep its traditions, like its Church which uses the Anglican Book of Common Prayer, although not in the Anglican Communion. Shall we have a meeting to discuss Becketshire entering your empire? We are considering this.
