It is my opinion that the police and law enforcement agencies short of the military should be provided with weapons and other defensive tools.

They need not be as powerful as military-grade equipments.

I think most people just assume that thier law enforcement and paramilitary organisations are well enough equipped for the job and likely base thier "layout" on either thier own personal experiences or on what would be "required" by thier Nations nature.


I.E. Strathdonia (a small back waters african colonial nation) has a very well armed general populance hence the local law enforcement agencies are mroe into the paramilitary arena and very well armed (the fact that in rural areas the local "warden" is both policeman and game warden makes thing more interesting, hence why most Warden landrovers have an elephant gun/ Anti material rifle).

In my nation, the only thing separating soldiers from police is... well, not much. Most of my police only have my military pistols though. But special/heavy units have assualt rifles. Armor's the same too.

We have full riot equipment. This consists of a stun baton, helmet with visor, combat leathers-- a leather lined outfit with spidersilk webbing, boots, and riot shields. We also use tear gas, subsonics, water cannons, and pepper spray. This is for riot control.

Our standard police officer has two types of shells for his handgun-- a shock shell which is an aerial taser about 50k volts in a plastic bullet, and regular ammunition. Pepper spray and comatic gas grenades are also available.


Our anti-piracy, swat, and anti-terrorism units are very heavily armed. AA-12 automatic shotguns, combat leathers, flash bang grenades, helmets, and assault rifles if necessary. They have to be. They include some paramilitary equipment.

There are armored vans for terrorists and rioters as well as a special heavy police road cruiser for road pirates. Riots tend to be very violent and vocal in the Commonalitarianism when they get out of hand. We also have had terrorist attacks on our soil.

Our police can only have Shotguns & Pistols while SWAT & similar can have certain smaller assualt rifles, pistols, shotguns & sub-machine guns! There is a big step from here to the military in San Haven!
