Secret Message:

From: Grand Emperor Christian Michael Victor, Sovereign of the Errikan people
To: AMAP Nations

You have begun to move your troops against the Kravenian forces, and for this I thank you. Please do not ditract your own ground forces from their attacks into Kraven territory to reinforce my main borders now, as my army is currently more than powerful enough to hold the Kraven forces off for quite some time.

However, my air force is not so powerful, and I have plenty of air facilities in my bunkers which could be used by your forces for resupply ports from which to strike at Kraven. Our air defenses are quite capable of holding off any Kravenian air force around our bunkers, which provides even more safety for your docking and undocking aircraft.

Signed;
Grand Emperor Christian Michael Victor, Sovereign of the Errikan people

Colonel Powers was asked a final time, "Do it." he repeated.

From battle groups Alpha, Echo, and Victor, flights of naval attack and fighter aircraft began to launch, their destination was the portion of kraven terriory in the northern map, on the upper land mas, the part that sticks out from the bottom, above their larger continental territory.

Once up in the air, over 120 in all, they formed up, fighters on the flanks, on point and in the rear, Fighter/attack in the center of the formation (these were the aircraft carrying the heavier payloads destined for ground targets.

"This is echo leader, make for attack speed, we're entering kraven territory now. Lock in GPS coordinates." a few moments passed.

Several of the pilots found radar stations and air strips, some near the coast naval docks, they reported in.

"Echo leader, this is echo one, ground targets identified. Requesting permission to engage. over."

"Rodger, all wings, bombs away!"

The Royal Code's first strike was underway.

In stead of the soldiers being shipped to Errikan territorry to help them, they would be landing in Kraven territory to help support their allies. The men didn;t mind, however. In fact, this really didn't impact anything. They would still be fighting, and thy would still be a long way from the ogld mines. Many soldiers urged their superirors to get in to command post by a gold mine. They could do odd jobs their, hauling gold. They would earn more money than they would on military wage, which wasn't much.

Secret Hidden Underground Bunker; Undisclosed Location

"Why are we meeting here? It's not like they're bombing our cities or anything. Even if they were, we've got a perfectly good bunker under the palace."

"Please, governor, be patient. So long as we are here, let us continue our discussion of this war," Emperor Victor leaned back in his seat, "What were you saying, General?"

"The natives, sir," General Thompson continued, "They have rallied against Kraven. Thousands are trying to get into the army . . ."

"Surely we can't let them in!" Governor Talbot interrupted, "Besides, they hate us!"

"They do," Christian interjected, "But they hate Kraven far more. Which is why we moved many large, hostile tribes into the buffer zone between our northern territory and Kraven. That is quite a barrier. Perhaps we could use this resource again."

"But by the time we are done training them, the war may be over!"

"True," Christian responded, "But why give them full infantry training? We can give them some basic sniper training, a rifle, and send them into the field. The experience with the terrain of Arterus, when combined with some sniper training, could prove quite useful."

OOC: They wouldn't be particularly good or loyal (at all) troops, and not that many of them would actually get trained or equipped. Really I just wanted to have some meeting between a few of my leaders, and that seemed like a good subject.

EDIT: I was sort of thinking of the American Indians in wars like the French and Indian (Seven Years) war with that idea. Except here they would play almost no role.

(OOC: It is not "fortified spots" it is a continual wall of incredibly fortified bunkers)

"We are coming under fire!"

The shells pounded the area around the bunkers they had been aimed at, several striking the fortifications themselves. They held strong, though they took some damage.

They quickly returned fire, the armor-piercing machine guns raining death at the enemy. Missles were launched, and high explosive shells from artillery in rear bunkers plummeted towards their targets.

The two Imperator ultraheavy battle tanks reached firing range, and they fired their quad 180mm cannons at the fronts of the fortifications as another salvo of 30" shells soared through the skies at one particular section of the fortifications. Basilisk heavy artillery continued to rain Earthshaker rounds at the same part of the fortifications. The Earthshaker rounds were rounds that used Kraven Corporation C12, a direct hit on a city block could very easily destroy most of it. Kraven Corporation ZSUs locked onto the incoming Errikan missiles, destroying most of them. However, two missiles impacted an area, kicking up dirt and overturning a Chimaera troop transport. Emperor superheavy battle tanks fired their double 155mm cannons at spotted anti-infantry and anti-armour guns, and fired assault cannon rounds wherever an Errikan infantryman could be spotted.

In the fortifications, rounds continued to be ferried up to the static artillery, firing as quickly as they were reloaded at the Errikan lines. In an airfield, the Firebird strike bombers slowly propelled themselves off of their runways, and they soared over the battle zone, some dropping "Grand Slam" 40,000 pound bombs on Errikan fortified positions and troop encampments. They dropped massive amounts of heavy bombs, raining death on anything they touched...

OOC:Errik I'll edit in your return fire when you tell me how much you fired.

The troops that had been outside ran for the entrances, though none made it through the hail of gunfire and bombs. The fortifications held stong against most of the attacks, but began to show some serious damage after such a bombardment.

Troops within the base who were not yet at theri posts quickly arrived, and the true return fire began.

Missles fired from the three thousand manned and operational missile posts at the artillery and tanks, while the heavy machine guns continued to pound away. The heavy artillery in the fortifications far back fired several more vollies down onto the enemy artillery.

The powerful mines that had been laid all across the area, specifically designed to be powerful enough to obliterate a tank, sat ready. As the tanks drove over them to reach the wall . . . (OOC: I don't GM.)

Quickly the AA defenses heated up, firing several thousand missles at the bombers above. The AA machine guns were unmanned for an additional minute, but the crews quickly arrived and readied for more planes.

While this was going on, more and more troops arrived from unmolested fortifications to reinforce these lines. This was going to be a very long battle.

OOC-Southern Arterus, in Erriklands land right above Kravens mainland.
Whyatica
29-04-2006, 16:03
The armoured thrust suddenly halted as a Leman Russ main battle tank rolled over a mine and exploded, it's twisted, wrecked frame thrown ahead at the fortified wall, becoming a low-yield kinetic weapon of sorts. The charge halted, the heavy armour still throwing munitions at the wall, and ZSUs continuing to take down enemy counter-fire left and right. The Basilisk Earthshaker artillery recieved new orders, to destroy the minefield. They loaded Earthshaker rounds in the barrels, and fired off in the general area where the Leman Russ exploded. Hundreds of mines went off as the Earthshaker round created a massive crater in the ground. Believing the area to be safe now, the advance continued. Basilisks retargetted the same area on the wall, and continued to pour heavy 205mm rounds and Earthshakers at it.

In the sky, however, the wings of Firebird strike bombers weren't having as great a time.

"Incoming Errikan contacts...thousands of them.." the AWACs pilot far away from the battlefield said over the radio.

"They must've used their entire fucking SAM arsenal on us!" one Firebird
pilot said.

"Get the hell out of here, now!" the Wing Commander said.

"Too late.."

The missiles impacted the Firebirds, annihilating every fighter, as it was over 100 missiles per bomber. However, it was highly likely that the Errikan SAM batteries had been completely exhausted. Two wings of Gargoyle heavy bombers were launched off of another airfield, and they got to their maximum height where it was unlikely any conventional SAM could hit them. On that same beleaguered Errikan fortification, they dropped T-12 bombs, Grand Slam bombs, and MOABs. This assault would surely break a hole in the wall, as it was more firepower than had been leveled at the great Citadel Wall in the Automagfreek-Kraven war...

"Sir!" a Kreigsmarine saluted, he looked tired, "We have word from the High Command that we are to move out, sir!"

"Yes, yes, I know that." Admiral Grant said. He was checking over last minute reports from the three hundred ships under his command. He took one last look at his fleet as it stretched out of the blue waters of Arterus..

10 Emperia class battleship.
1 Gorgoroth class Super Carrier
5 Corporate class escort carrier
15 Imortal class battlecruiser
60 Marduk class missile destroyer
80 Mayhem class destroyer
15 Mimir class tracking ships
90 Apotheosis class cruiser
34 Torment nuclear submarines

"Good.." he said to himself, the Kriegsmarine still standing there. The Kriegsmarine continued to stand in the same spot, not moving at all in his attentive stance. He nervously waited for the Admiral to dismiss him

"Alright.. you are dismissed, Kriegsmarine." he grabbed the microphone sitting next to him, speaking in his low voice, the loudspeakers throughout the fleet cracked on, "All vessels are to follow my ship as we move! Fuel up, load up, and move out!"

The ships cruised out of their standing position, getting themselves into a standard Kraven Corporation navy formation. They stopped briefly at Kraven-controlled Desanna Island, and then left again for a marathon run to the northern shores of Errikland. They were within fifty nautical miles of the shore when the Admiral said across his intercom again, "All stop. Send an E-3 out to survey the area. We don't want to be surprised by an Errikan fleet."

An E-3 Sentry AWACS plane rocketed off the Gorgoroth supercarrier, and it began to cruise around the fleet's position, looking for resistance in the form of ships, or planes, or fixed installations..

"There they go..."

Twenty Imperial Marines sat in the dense jungle of Desanna on the coast, watching as the massive Kraven fleet passed. The marines had been making guerilla attacks for the past several weeks, and had been mostly striking at convoys and supply bases. They also had some locals with them, armed with C56 rifles they had managed to grab.

"I count upwards of two hundred, possibly three hundred."
"Agreed."

The highest ranking marine left, a major, looked back at the radio operator.

"They can't pick us up, can they?"
"We're on the highest possible encryption, sir. Nothing can pick us up unless it's on the station itself."

He looked around, thinking that if he sent out a message it might cause Capitol Police or Kreigsmarines to rush them from out of the bush.

"We know there are Blaglugian forces here, right?"
"Yeah... Our last sit-rep confirmed that."
"Send a message on one of their frequencies. Inform them of the fleet headed north so they can alert the right people."
"Yes, sir."

He sent off the message, using code words he prayed the Blaglugians would understand. He put his radio away, and the team headed back to their makeshift camp where there were forty more men. The devistation wrought by napalm attacks was still evident everywhere, but there was no time to mourn.

Only time to kill...

The fleet of Veragon merchant ships and naval ships arrived at the Royal Code and started disembarking troops to the new Forward Operating Base designated FOB Wolf. Three mechanized brigades were dropped off and additional taskings of engineers, heavy armour, strategic artillery and air defence were dropped off as well.

The engineers quickly went to work and cleared an airstrip for C-130s to land on and the first of the transports started arriving, dropping off additional forces and specialized munitions for the strategic artillery regiment.

The brigades went to work laying down fortififications and turning the spot of land they had claimed in Royal Code territory into a full fledged military base for the campaign as they awaited a sitrep and orders from their allies.

Many of the freighters turned back, heading back to Veragon to pick up additional forces and bring them in. The engineers, finished with the C-130 airstrip went to work constructing a proper airfield for strategic airlifters and fighter squadrons.

The strategic artillery regiment, consiting of massive naval guns adapted for land use and massive mobile regional missile batteries loaded with immense conventional warheads began setting up in preparation of bombardment of enemy forces, though they still did not know who exactly they would be targeting other than Kraven and Kraven allied forces.

"I can bring in as many missles as you want, but their planes are out of range at the moment."

"Send the missles anyway!"

"Alright, they are on their way."

"Good." The commander looked at his various screens and pages in front of him. The section of the wall that they were bombarding couldn't take any more of this; there would be a break in moments. He reached for his microphone.

"Attention, Commander Taggert. They will have a break in our initial wall large enough for men to get through soon, so ready your positions for an all out assault."

"Yes, sir." came the response.

The commander hoped that the enemy would be so devoted to their tanks that they would waste enough time making the hole big enough for them to get through, though the doubted it. He switched the channel and sent out another message.

"Attention, any allied forces within range of this message! This section of the wall is on the brink of destruction, and we need air support! Any ground support would also be greatly appriciated."

He quickly ordered all of the remaining troops to battle positions and sealed off all unnecissary openings. More troops continued to arrive, and if he just had a few more moments . . .

Just then, a hole was blasted through the wall.

As thousands of Errikan missiles soared across the skies to the high-flying Gargoyle heavy bombers, they ran out of fuel and dropped to Earth once more, as the bombers were much too high for conventional StA missiles. They had to be hit with interceptors at a near-equal height. They continued to drop heavy bombs and penetrator missiles on the hole in the wall, hoping to expand it quickly for the Imperators to reach through. The hole was just barely large enough for the Leman Russ to fit through, so four tanks quickly shoved themselves through the hole, targetting defenders with their mounted machine guns, firing at them at a high rate. The Imperators, continuing to fire their quad 180mm cannons, hit the wall at their top rate of speed, attempting to use their large mass to break open a further hole in the wall. APCs moved to the front of the formation, rushing through the hole broken through by the Imperator and bombers.

As the Emperors and Imperators created cover for the APCs, the Capitol Police began to disgorge, assaulting positions on the wall. They threw grenades at the top of the wall where their soldiers were, and were preparing to storm the wall and clear out all remaining defenders. As the hole in the wall widened due to tanks and infantry carriers rushing through, the Reichsmarshal in charge saw this from his high position in the fortress. He sent a communication to the Zukariaan fleet,
Begin landing operations.

The Whyatican-Zukariaan goal was to sandwich the Errikan forces in between both forces and force their capitulation before the war became a huge, dragged-on guerilla war..

Admiral Grant recieved the message. He grabbed his microphone and spoke:

"I want a landing force on the beach ASAP! Men, man the guns and cover them as they move for the beach."

A large landing of nearly 100,000 soldiers took place. As this happened, helicopters air dropped supplies that would be used to make a mulberry, a temporary dock. As supplies came, the men built it. They were to establish a beach head, bring in armor, and assault the Errikan coast.

SNS Pestilence, Arterusian Waters
Fleet Admiral Porter cursed as he tried to figure out how in God’s name he could expect to complete the orders that had just come through from Central Command. It seemed impossible- after all, they were so damn close to the Kravenite dread. Not, of course that the Doujin-class was in danger. They were the most feared for a reason, but Porter still didn’t like the fact they were close enough to almost be able to send over boarders.

Nonetheless, they had to get the diplomat off the ship or simply remove him from the game entirely. That option was far easier and Porter never really like Laabs all that much anyway. So, with a slight smile, he dropped the dispatch on a crowded ready room console and pressed the button himself. A signal was sent near-instantly to the pacemaker inside Laabs’ chest.

Kravenite Conference Room, Kraven Corporation Dreadnought
Labs jerked upright as his chest tightened. His pacemaker! something was going wrong with it! shouted his body, but it could in no way interfere. Electrical signals, once tightly regulated, suddenly screamed out in sharp, furious bursts. The end result? He jerked forward, an arm waving up over his whitened face, body slumping to the floor. Laabs had died of seemingly natural causes. A pacemaker malfunction. Something quite prosaic.

1st Expeditionary Fleet, Arterusian Waters
“General Quarters! All hands to General Quarters!” screamed the bullhorns, as sailors on board the fleet itself jumped from near-battle readiness to full battle readiness in a heartbeat. No one fully trusted the Kravenites, so everyone had been standing near stations, idly waiting for what they guessed would be a call that did come. So, what one instant looked like a slumbering fleet became a fully-awakened battlefleet the next moment.

The Pestilence, almost next to the Kravenite dreadnought, suddenly opened up with every gun that had been pointing at the vessel. Normally, at least two main batteries were set to the sides, so the mass devestation of a 30” cannon at close range was visited upon the Kravenite vessel multiple times. The firing of the guns rocked the Doujin to its side, as its smaller guns opened up. The broadside obscured the Pestilence in smoke, as the detonations so near threw up burning bits of the vessel and obscured the short distance between the two.

At the same time, emergency orders had been issued to the engine room and the vessel began pulling away as quickly as possible, so errant shells already being sent by the fleet wouldn’t hit it. CAP was already coming up, out of both the Doujin and off the rest of the fleet, but no offensive measures were taken by the aerial units yet. This was strictly a naval battle, one in which the Kravenites were outnumbered, outgunned, and even outmaneouvered. When an entire fleet was currently capping the T against you, the outlook tended to be pretty grim indeed.

[OOC- I don’t usually throw out numbers, but if you really, really need them I can try. You’re currently being shot at by a Doujin, multiple other superdreads and normal dreads (including a few designed specifically for anti-dread work), the remainder of their normal fleet, plus aircraft are beginning to be launched. Away from you, I might add. They’re only defensively minded right now and are staying low enough in the case of the Doujin and far enough away in the case of the others that AA shouldn’t be too much of a problem. And there aren’t many up right now. So yeah. Any questions can be brought up here or in an OOC thread should you wish.]

The 30" shells of the Pestilence impacted the belt armour of the Annihilator class superdreadnaught and created massive, gaping holes in it. The ship rocked in the water as it took impacts, and the sailors quickly leapt to battle readiness, putting fire back across to the Doujin class now assaulting it. The Annihilator fired it's own 30" guns, as well as the secondary 18" and 12" guns. It began firing it's rapid-fire 5" DP guns across to the Doujin, and it began to move away from the battlefield. It sent a transmission to a Whyatican fleet 90 nautical miles away.

We are under attack by a Samtonian battle fleet, we are retreating to your position, order thrust against Samtonians.

The Annihilator pulled a wide turn, testing the maximum turn radius of the superdreadnaught while damaged, and began to sprint away at 30 knots. Shells continued to impact it as it returned fire at the offending Doujin, and as it launched 1,700 Knight class heavy anti-shipping missiles at it. The next missile assault was five hundred HARM missiles to destroy RADAR and other targetting systems. A shell impacted one of the 5" DP guns, destroying it and killing the Kriegsmarines manning it. The Annihilator was a hardy warship, and wouldn't be destroyed instantly by the sneak Samtonian attack, and could easily give as well as it got. It pulled off at 30 knots as it's Whyatican saviours began to pull in..

OOC:What's the composition of your fleet? The fleet I'm sending to combat yours is like this. By the way, everyone who had diplomats on board the vessel, Samtonia just killed all of your diplomats.

A classified aircraft performed a high altitude drop of Spec Ops over the island in the middle of the straight....

As the island was definetly not undefended, the automated 30mm CIWS systems came online and began spewing forth fire at a high rate on the intruder. Their airdrop was poorly timed and executed, for there were AWACS and Mimir class tracking ships all throughout the straits, watching for any moves like this one. There was little chance that any of the Blaglugian troops would survive to tell the tale..

"We have orders to launch the bombers, sir." Private L. Jenkins told his superior.

"Then launch them! Send the bombers, strats, and fighters in that order!"

The 750 bombers took flight, each with a payload of 10 bombs. The strato-destroyers were next, 250 of them with 10 air-to-air missles and 10 bombs. The fighters flew out with just their 10 missles, all 350 of them. It would only be a matter of time before they flew over the border..

OOC:This takes place over the Zukariaa beach head.

B-1 Lancers hid, high in the clouds approaching the beach head that was being set up.A few kilometers north of them another 10 hid in the clouds, waiting to drop their rain of death.South of them 5 more B-1 Lancers prepared to make their move.Coming up 50 kilometers behind Alpha Flight was 10 F/A-18s.Behind every one else was a single SR-71 Blackbird. After all the bombs had been dropped the SR-71 would shoot over the beach head at Mach 3.5,flying at 100,000 feet.

''All aircraft this is Alpha one,are you in your positions.''

Bravo One:''Preparing to make the dive now.''

Charlie One:''In position,ready to go.''

Delta One:''Ready.''

Lone Ranger:''Ready and willing.''

Alpha One:''Operation Rainy Day is a go,I say again,Operation Rainy Day is a go,out''

The 3 B-1 Lancers, known as Flight Alpha, dove down out of the clouds and opened their bomb bays, dropping 84 MK82 bombs each, down onto the beach head.A few kilometers north, the B-1 Lancers known as Bravo Flight dove down, dropping real low to the ground and opened their bomb bays each dropping 30 CBU 89s each.Charlie Flight dove down dropping 84 Mk-62s each into the water behind the beach head.Delta Flight came into their weapons range(48 kilometers away) and launched 2 AGM-88 HARMs.The SR-71 known as Lone Ranger shot forward and flew over the beach just after the bombs exploded taking pictures of the damage and looking for new targets.

OOC:What I did just to make sure you understand is I dropped CBU 89s north of your beach head, hoping that if you move north you will run into them and it will stop or slow down your advance.I dropped 252 MK-82 dumb bombs onto your beach head hoping to destroy some of the key thing you would need to defend your beach or make a move north.Into the water behind the beach head I dropped 420 Mk-62s bombs. These bombs send mines deep down into the water.I did this to prevent you from being able to land more supplies and men onto the beach. The HARMs were launched to destroy your air defenses.

SNS Pestilence
Marine Captain Jensen pushed his way through the crowded corridors that were filled with a crew hurriedly going about their activities in the midst of what was becoming a very large naval battle very quickly. The Pestilence had already been rocked several times by explosions and Jensen had been near a CIWS gun when it exploded, leaving behind scant traces of any men unfortunate enough the be near it.

“Emergency Maintenance crews to Deck Level Theta. Emergency crews to Deck Level Theta.”

AS he pushed his way through the ebb and flow of humanity, the emergency klaxons that pealed constantly were beginning to grate on his nerves, with the constant announcements of a ship at battle echoing over everyone across the ship.

“Venting of subunits twelve through fourteen to commence now.”

All Jensen had to do was report back to the men under his command, not an easy task in a ship with corridors the length of dozens of football fields and jammed with other men going about on their own tasks. He’d already had to take multiple detours around corridors still not safe enough to traverse through.

“Radiation levels in Unit Gamma have abated. Radiation levels in Unit Beta approaching 12 roentgens, all nonessential personnel are advised against entering Beta for their safety.”

All in all, being on board a warship this size was not an improvement over the smaller ships he had served on. There were just more people to get in your way.

SNS Pestilence, Command Bridge
Already, the escorts and other ships of the line had formed up around the Pestilence in the protective layers Porter wanted almost the moment that firing started. It had been close too- a number of missiles had eked a pathway through the wall of fire thrown up to stop them and the Pestilence had the first of what were sure to be many casualties within the fleet.

Furthermore, portions of the CIWS system had been blown away, a number of secondary turrets were out of commission, and Turret Two had become jammed in place as a result of a lucky missile shot. Porter had been assured that that problem was being fixed, but having a main turret jammed into a firing position (albeit the broadside position that it had been in) was not something that inspired Porter with glee. Nonetheless, the battle was going well, with the enemy Dreadnought having rather more holes in her than the Doujin. The fact that numerous smaller vessels had substantial holes across various areas did not trouble Porter in the least- only a few were in danger of sinking and the majority of the crew had been transferred off those vessels listing the most.

At this point in the battle, Porter was gratified to see the numbers of fighters in the air that he needed to adequately establish both defensive and offensive air assets, along with the defensive posture that his fleet was now entrenched in. With both a larger fleet and a more battle hardened one, Porter was read to begin the Samtonian reply.

He turned to his second in command. “An addendum, Mr. Druthers, to all captains. Target firepower on escorts first, except in the cases of designated vessels. I want their defensive ring shot through.” His plan, drawn up while the Pestilence drew into position with the rest of the fleet, called for numerous surgical strikes against various components of the enemy fleet. AS it bled through many wounds, it would fall down on itself. That, at least, was the hope. But they could afford to make a few mistakes. Numerical superiority assured that.

1st Expeditionary Fleet, Tarantagio Sea
As the defensive rings unfolded around the all-important command ships and aircraft carriers, the Samtonian fleet began moving its pieces into play across the calm waters of the open sea that it lay upon. The Corporations fleet was now easily within range of every main gun on the capital ships and they opened up, targeting the smaller vessels that provided so much of a defense to the Kraven fleet. Guns were not the only armaments used, as the Samtonian missile reply was soon sent on its way, mainly targeting the escorts again. Nonetheless, a variety of missiles including anti-radiation and a relatively new smart cluster missile were sent against the larger vessels, in the hopes of scoring at the very least partial mission kills.

This was aided by the bombardments that soon began coming from the Allegiance-class Dreadnought Hunter-Killers. The admirals had been a bit surprised to see these vessels in the opposing fleet, but were in no way troubled by the export vessels that the enemy had bought. After all, Samtonians had helped design the things and the originals had some surprises that the exports were not privy to. In addition, many of the higher-ranking officers had aided in designing and knew of the relative weaknesses of what was known to many as the Argentine-class Galleon. These vessels were deemed more dangerous than any other enemy dreadnought and so the full force of the Samtonian Allegiances were turned against them.

Meanwhile, a substantial section of the more moderate ships of the line began what at first glance was a pincer movement. Traveling fast enough that the rotation of large guns should not trouble them, these baby-battleships and mini-dreads escorted a mixed force of destroyers and cruisers, who launched their torpedo spreads at the apex of their optimal run distances. Samtonians had never put much faith into Shkval-type torpedoes and instead improved the more traditional designs, meaning that this clipping attack was more powerful than many nations could put up, simply because of the relative strengths of the Anzalduas that the vessels launched. These vessels quickly laid down chemical smoke and drew back, waiting for the next opportunity to commit such an action while staying within the AA envelope provided by the majority of the fleet.

Submarines also began moving forward, at a creeping pace that allowed them to use their numerical superiority for offensive work. Escort subs hung back around the main fleet along with most of the older models, whose noise had always been a bit of a problem. Not so the newer classes- these were the subs that were moving forward to detect and destroy any Corporation submersible advances.

On the aerial side, a number of attacks were launched, each coming at a slightly different point of attack, all intersecting on the relative center of the zone that was to be most hit by surface-launched missiles. The commanders were playing it safe on this one- firing at their relative maximum effective ranges and then pulling back to cover of protective air escorts that prepared near attack wings. Porter played every card in his hand a bit conservatively- even though he had superiority of numbers, he didn’t want to needlessly waste lives.

[OOC- Lots of missiles and guns and stuff. A force swung out and launched a torpedo attack at an angle different from the main axis of battle and then pulled back a bit into the full defensive sphere. hey of course acted smart and didn’t just walk over subs without air cover. Assume competency in every action I’ve done. I didn’t see anything about your aerial assets, so I assumed few enough not to matter at this point. Oh, the clster missile. It's anti-rad right now and is basically a really big and nasty shotgun. Think hundreds of pellets smashing throgh metal, hitting radar masts, etc. Pretty self explanatory.

I hate numbers, so I gave none really. I got hurt, thoguh less than you, and attacked with a lot of stuff, so yeah. Make of that what you will. Any issues, you know my contacts.]

As the Frenzians didn't seem to have any sense of direction, they dropped their dumb bombs into empty ocean. The ones that were properly aimed by the bombers were fired on by 30mm ZSU anti-missile guns. Many of them appeared to have exploded in the air, but some managed to land on the beach. The men on the beach were ordered to continue moving in armor and supplies on the newly finished mulberry that had, luckily, not been hit.
Radar had seen the bombers long before they had actually dropped the bombs, and as they did, they were heavily fired on. SAM guns fired from multiple ships into the sky, and a wing of Axim air superiority fighters was sent into the sky after them.

As they came up on them from below, they began firing their "Centurion" BVRAAMs at them. The missiles launched at an extremely fast speed. As the Axim wing got closer, they began firing "Stalker" short range missiles. If any bombs were still in the bomber craft, they would explode and destroy not only one plane, but hopefully the others around it.

(OOC: We didn't fire any additional missles at the planes; the man was requesting more missles to be shipped to him; not that they be fired. Also, there were no troops outside or "on" the walls. The few troops that had been outside were cleared out at the beginning of the bombardment)

The outer machine guns of the second line came online, and found plenty of targets flooding out of their vehicles. These guns didn't have the range of the heavy machine guns of the front lines, but had just the same ROF and power and there were about twice as many in this area. They opened fire on the enemy troops from nearly all directions.

Meanwhile, most the anti-tank missles launchers that had not yet were now coming online, and the area between the front wall and second line was torn apart, though most aimed outward at the quickly advancing tanks.

"Their artillery continues to provide support. I want that eliminated."

"Yes, sir," the captain in charge of that section of the rear artillery responded before flipping off the radio. He quickly forwarded the order to all long range artillery under his command: "Concentrated barrages."

He watched his screens, though they did little good; immeditately following each barrage, the area was nothing but smoke and dust, making identification of the level of the destruction impossible.

Underground, the troops were quickly being readied for the assault. The additional fourty legions that had arrived since the beginning of the fighting crowded the facilities but also brought plenty of supplies. Armor piercing rifles were far more common than usual, though most men were equipped with the standard assault rifles. Trenchguns and flamethrowers were also distributed in great number, and high explosive and frag granades were given out liberally. Everything (except for the flamethrowers and granades) had bayonets.

The men all prayed as the battle neared.

Secret Meeting, Undisclosed Location

"I have another million men mobilized," General Roberts informed the governor.

"A million?! With an 'M'?"

"Yes, though any letter other than 'M' would actually make the number far larger."

"Still, that is an astronomical number. How do you think the emperor will react-"

"I already have his permission."

"Really? How will we move and supply them?"

"Our private industries. We have been developing our shipping networks for quite some time, and now countless ships go across them. Kraven could not possibly hope to stop them all, nor are they making an effort to stop any that do not directly run into their blockade. Once on land, the troops and any supplies they need can be moved quickly and efficiently by our developed railways. Like the shipping networks, private industry has developed so many railways that, even if Kraven was bombing any, which they aren't, they couldn't possibly bomb enough to notably slow our troops and supplies. Even if they had sattellites spying on us, which I believe they don't, they couldn't gather enough information to pinpoint which trains and ships to attack, as nearly all of the loading and unloading is done either underground or in some sort of bunker."

"How are we to skirt the blockade? It is very powerful, and allied forces probably shall not break it for quite some time."

"True, but must we go through it? Kraven is not blockading the coasts of Detharon, our allies, or Roman Greece, who I believe is a pact member. How could they bloackade all of that? The costs would be astronomical, it just wouldn't be efficient. The Emperor has already sent a message to Roman Greece requesting them to allow our troops to pass through their territory. By tomorrow night, if they agree, our troops should be on our trains headed to battle."

"You have really thought this through," the governor smiled.

"Of course."

"Why not move the troops against Kraven territory?"

"The Emperor has strictly forbid it at this point."

"But why? It is not like him to pass up a good opportunity to strike the enemy where it hurts."

"It is also not like him to be stupid. He does not want our allies to percieve us as overly grabby at territory. So, until such point that such a war is no longer useful, we are to fight defensively, only providing support for attacks on Kraven soil led by our allies.

We are in great need to ship troops to reinforce our lines in the war effort against Kraven. However, they maintain a strict bloackade that restricts us from doing so. Thus, we need to move our armies through your territory in order to reinforce our lines. Please allow us to do so, and soon, as this is vital to the war.

OOC:I thought I knew where the beach head was but I guess I don't.Is there any chance you could highlight on a map where it is.My HARMS would still hit even if my other bombs missed.

IC:The bombers were pretty much screwed, they banked left and attempted to turn around but each bomber was hit and they zoomed towards the ground, crashing into a hunk of twisted metal. The F/A 18s had turned around and accelerated heading back the way they came. The SR-71 flew over the beach at breakneck speeds, turned around and flew back over again.Already the data was sent to the command center and they had more aircraft in the air within minutes.

Another 6 F/A 18s came up to the 48 kilometer mark and each launched 2 AGM-88 HARMs.10 Joint Strike Fighters sped ahead to the 15 mile mark and each launched 2 JDAM bombs. These had been set to attack the docks and any buildings that had been put up.Then the JSFs each launched two AIM-54 Phoenix Missiles at the fighters in the air before all the aircraft turned around and shot back the way they came.

All the while planes were being shot at with SAMs. ZSU guns fired on the bombs that were dropped on the beach. The Axim planes turned on the new bombers and began firing on them.
On the ground, Kreigsmarines hurried trying to help wounded who had been hit by bombs. The dock had been hit, and it would take awhile to repair it, but at the same time another one was being built in a spot a bit down the beach.

Admiral Grant looked over the reports. 23 Kreigsmarines had been killed and 16 were wounded. The main dock had been hit, and a Leman Russ had been destroyed. Nothing too major. He spoke to no one in particular,"Prepare for another attack. I want all SAM guns in the fleet readied for another attack. Don't let this happen again."
He took a drink of water. Then he continued,"And get some anti air guns on the beaches."

On the beach, the second dock had finished and supplies and armor were being brought in quicker than usual. More and more men were on the beaches. Once they were at full power, they would begin their attack on the Errikan coast.

The commanders at the colony headquarters were not happy. Two failed
attempts at destroying the beach head. The commander decided it would have to be a large scale bombing to make a serious blow.

50 kilometers away from the beach,100 F/A-18s prepared for combat.

''This is command, you better be ready.''

Flight Leader:''We are almost in position.''

Command:''Good, screw this up and your all in big shit.''

Flight Leader:''In postion,All aircraft,fire.''

Each F/A-18 fired 4 AGM-88A HARMs,making a total of 400 missiles streaking towards radar station and SAM sites.64 kilometers away from the beach 25 B-1 Lancers opened their weapons bays dropping a total of 300 un powered AGM-154As, sent to destroy vehicles that had been unloaded from ships and driven on land. The B-1s were escorted by 50 F/A 18s which launched a total of 200 JDAMs at the docks, buildings, bunkers, and land defenses.A total of 900 missiles had been launched at the beach. If this didn't do serious damage what would.

"Shit." Admiral Grant grunted,"Fire what we can, I want Axims in the air, now."

SAM sites all throughout the fleet began firing. ZSU missiles began to streak through the air from every direction in order to intercept as many as possible.

The order came. An Emperia Class Battleship suddenly launched a large missile. As the enemy bombs streaked through the air, the missile met up with them. It was a small yield nuclear weapon. As it met with the bulk of the bombs, it exploded. A huge flash of light came over the fleet for a moment, before disappearing.

On the beach, some of them had come down to the ground. 57 Kreigsmarines were killed. The main dock was finished off, an artillery piece was destroyed as well.

As the sky cleared, two wings of Axim warplanes flew through the sky after the bombers.

"When this happens next time, I want a wing ready for them." Admiral Grant said, he whiped his head. A Kreigsmarine nearby saluted and ran off.

Battle of the Tarantagio Sea
The sounds of battle rocked across the Kraven Corporation fleet, as picket-line destroyers took torpedo hits and exploded, sending shrapnel all across the decks of the remaining destroyers. They returned fire, booming throughout the first tier with their heavy and light guns alike. The frontline destroyers and cruisers opened up with their heavy torpedo launchers, targetting the front escorts of the Samtonian fleet, taking careful aim at the ones surrounding the Doujin. As the picket line suffered, they gave as good as they got, as they shot down incoming missiles and shells with extreme accuracy.

The torpedo-wall tactics of the Whyatican navy came into effect as the escort destroyers, cruisers, and frigates unloaded their ASROCs and tube-launched torpedos, sending a veritable wall of submerged hell to their Samtonian enemies. The submarine picket line advanced forward, firing on any Samtonian submarine they happened to detect with their 500mm and 800mm torpedos. The heavy ships of the fleet, ranging from Warspite class heavy battleships to the massive Hood class, the Flagship, opened fire at once, sending enough shells to sink Atlantis over at the enemy Doujin class.

The order was sent to keep the Whyatican planes grounded, so as to not waste them in combat. Copious amounts of surface-to-air missiles were thrown up at the Samtonian planes, especially the ones targetting Whyatican picketlines. They came up, at least two to every Samtonian jet.

The beleaguered Annihilator continued to speed back to the Whyatican fleet, continuing to fire it's heavy guns at the Doujin which started the conflict. It kept eating shells, taking massive chunks out of the belt armour which had served it so well as of yet. A shell impacted one of the CIWS mounts, blasting it to shreds, and killing all the Kriegsmarines and Capitol Police near it. The main gun turret nearby swung around, and fired a 18" shell at the escort that destroyed the CIWS gun. It continued to jet to the fleet at 30 knots, hoping there would be a fleet remaining..

The figurative wagons had circled, ultraheavy and superheavy battle tanks protecting the Capitol Police APCs as they disgorged. They fired their massive cannons at machinegun emplacements as their bullets harmlessly ricocheted off their armour. Leman Russ and Diablo-A class battle tanks advanced ahead of the heavier armour, taking down infantry whenever spotted and firing their main guns at static emplacements.

Errikan artillery bombardments were almost laughed at, as the ZSUs shot down some shells while others merely landed in areas where there was no danger to any tanks or Capitol Police. However, a Diablo-A class took a near-miss and was crippled, and another one took an impact on the top armour and was instantly destroyed, sending shrapnel everywhere. Basilisk Earthshaker artillery pieces returned fire in the general direction of the Errikan artillery strike, aiming to destroy all serious counterfire as the tanks prepared to breach the second defensive lines.

The unloading in the north was complete. They were ready to move in on the Errikan coast, where there was a very little, if any, military personnel.

Admiral Grant had to stifle a laugh. He was moving in 150,000 Kreigsmarines, 100,000 Capitol Police, and a couple of hundred assorted tanks and artillery. And all of it was onto civilian towns and farms.

He watched as the huge columns of men and machine moved in on the coastal towns. The Errikan forces were too preoccupied in the south to do anything against his advance from the north. The idiots would be sandwiched in between the two forces and destroyed.

The huge force moved, burning everything they found and killing everyone they found. The thousands of Capitol Police would make any man wet his pants.

Reichsmarshal Gustov's Armoured Legion consisted of:

95 Leman Russ class main battle tanks.
105 Diablo-A class light battle tanks.
55 Basilisk Earthshaker class 205mm artillery pieces.

OOC: Thanks for the reminder.

Bits of concrete and steel flew in all directions as most of the latest volley struck its target. The upper section of the wall, with most its support blown away, crumbled inward, leaving a twenty foot wide section blown out. Huge chunks of rubble mostly blocked the way, but these could easily be blown out by the large weapons of Kraven.

Most of the artillery had already been evacuated, but what remained opened fire. It was a sad enough barrage, but most of the shells struck the ground around their targets, completely obscuring the view of the Zukariaan artillery. The mines in front of the open section were put on line, and what men had not been evacuated rushed to their stations, ready with the huge armor piercing machine guns and anti-tank missles.

The rubble was quickly rid of. A Diablo class light tank was the first to move up through the wall. As soon as it got in, it was destroyed by a mine. All that remained was a large heaping pile of twisted metal.

It became apparant that there were mines. A few Earthshaker shells slammed into the ground where they were, making a large explosion, and likely clearing a large area. Another few hit, doing the same. Meanwhile, tanks and men were moving up through the hole and firing on the Errikan men.

The huge Imperator tank moved through, it was like a massive moving fortress. It's large guns flaring.

1st Expeditionary Fleet, Tarantagio Sea
The battle had turned into a slugging match, with the two fleets having closed to ranges low enough to bring nearly every gun into play. This was a naval action the like of which had not been seen for some time, with broadsides delivered by Samtonian vessels into the hulls of enemy ships, while the same process was turned against the fleet. Indeed, the battle appeared more to be one that might have taken place in the era of sails than a modern naval action.

The Corporation's escorts had been devastated, to the point that significant gaps now existed across the fleet. Missiles were beginning to leak through more and more, as superior numbers ground down a naval opponent as determined as the Samtonians. The only place where the scene was repeated was along one of the outer flanks of the center of the Samtonian fleet, where the majority of enemy fire had become directed. What was at times a 3:1 superiority in fire in other sectors became a 1:2 disparity. In essence, a small section protecting the Doujin was unraveling.

Porter, on board the command ship of the fleet, saw this, but was unable to do anything about it. The massed torpedo attack had forced total devotion to defensive measures in order to protect the open sides of many ships that were arrayed in broadside forms. The Corporation had decided to favor torpedoes over naval gunfire and was rewarded in the fact that they were able to execute a pinpoint attack upon a sliver of the fleet upon which the main axis of their attack rested. It was much less successful in destructive nature, mainly due to disciplined reactions upon vessels with underwater defenses, most notably escort submarines.

The escorts were taking hits, yes, and sinking, but not at the rate necessary to justify the heading given by the necessity of turning to fire forward torpedo tubes in many vessels. Submarines were keeping each other at a standstill, while Samtonian aircraft rewarded the hail of missiles with chaff and flares, as well as low-yield nuclear missiles against the largest blocks of missiles. While the planes dove, self-defensive measures such as plane-launched mini missiles firing, they were effectively removed from the battle.

And that was the setup the Whyaticans wanted.

SNS Pestilence
It seemed as if God himself had decided to strike the Pestilence from the seas. The entire superstructure and deck erupted into massive explosions as the massed Whyatican attack slammed home. They had neglected the rest of the fleet, to the chagrin of many captains whose vessels were immolated by the fleet, but had heaped plenty of punishment upon the proud command ship of the Samtonians. And now the investment was paying dividends.

Main guns dropped into mounts, jammed and buckled beyond comprehension. Secondary mounts erupted into thunderous roars as they exploded, the deck vanishing of personnel in an instant as the rain of shells slammed home. The superstructure was hammered, chunks of metal flying into the area around the Doujin. Both main radars were down in the first instances. Three back-up mounts were disabled. An entire stabilization wing of the trimaran snapped off, while the runways of the plane were entangled with twisted wreckage and destroyed planes.

And then a reactor blew. Reactor 3, the ill-fated reactor that had been shattered years earlier, reached the limits of its tolerance and vomited its radioactive load into its surroundings. It was as if the proud ship had been kicked while she was down. The vessel began moving away, venting steam and radioactive clouds, limping at a slow 12 knots. There was no more fighting ship left, only a hulk of a vessel trying to crawl away under all the power she could manage. The ship was burning, her crew shattered by the attack and much of it dead or overboard, and the fleet was forced to realize the imminent loss of the pearl of it.

SNS Plato, Secondary-Command Dreadnaught
Rear Admiral Shaw could only stare in utter horror at the sight that greeted him, the burning hulk of what had once been the flagship of the fleet trying to limp away under a hail of shellfire. The sight didn’t just enrage him, it filled him with disgust at the reversal of the natural order of things. The Pestilence was not meant to look as it did and that idea alone filled him with revulsion. But he was forced away from these thoughts as the situation of what was about to happen dawned upon him.

The Corporation ships didn’t care that they had turned to unfavorable facings. They were in the facing they needed to be. They were advancing at full speed. Directly into (or through as they probably wished) the Samtonian fleet. Shaw screamed orders, as the fleet began trying to reform to meet the threat. Every ship in the line of advance desperately fired everything they had at the approaching ships, which were seriously outgunned as a result of their forward movement. Not that it mattered. They had enough ships to absorb casualties.

1st Expeditionary Fleet, Tarantagio Sea
The entire fleet began to roil, as if it were about to erupt in some horrific expansion of water and metal. Every ship available was hurried to the impact point, while those regarded as too far from the point of impact between the two fleets (generally those vessels engaged in the pincer thrust) were simply ordered to harass the flanks of the enemy fleet and move towards any defenseless vessels in the rear, especially vessels such as aircraft carriers that might stay back. Every plane available was re-routed and more were hurriedly launched, to try to smash down anything that was coming at them from the air. The enemy might be trying to drive through the fleet, but the Samtonians would work their hardest to trap them inside a tightening noose of the entire fleet.

Frenzian Commanders had been drawing up a plan for a long time. They always had to change it due to the speed and which things had been happening. Now they planned to act, before another change occurs.A secret landing on the north coast of the area that was being attacked.Ships had been prepared for a long time and most of the battle groups were not even docked.Aircraft would fly out and resupply them before they left. They would be escorting the troop and supply transports to the coast. In a little over a day the ships would be in position to begin landing operations.

"Grand Admiral," said the First Office of WSS Wake Island proudly, "The enemy Doujin is attempting to retreat, their reactor has blown and all systems are down. Most of their crew is dead or dying. We have damaged hundreds of Samtonian ships and our casualties are about the same."

"Decrease range, get all of our heavy guns into the firing arc. We're going to drive through the centre of the Samtonian formation and hit their aircraft carriers and other caps. Continue firing torpedos and anti-aircraft missiles, make sure our carriers are protected by some escorts. Get some fire over at their pincer, they're attempting to move in at the carriers."

"Aye, sir." the comm and weapons officers said, as they transmitted orders and punched keys.

The main guns of the Wake Island rotated to face a Samtonian target with a full broadside, and fired, unloading 635mm salvos at the Samtonian capital ship. It's 155mm dual purpose guns locked onto the same target, spraying the top decks of the target with massive amounts of gunfire, possibly killing every sailor on the top deck. Other heavy capital ships began to spread their fire across the centre of the Samtonian fleet, aiming to rip the heart of the Samtonians out by destroying their main capital ships. Ships that were aligned in the proper manner fired their hyper-cavitation torpedos at targets of opportunity, aiming to keep them occupied with the torpedo salvos.

Hundreds of anti-air missiles were continually pumped at the Samtonian warplanes, and as the salvos continued to increase, the chances decreased that the Samtonians could avoid them. Whyatican warplanes were preparing to launch, as the Samtonians were becoming steadily more occupied staying alive rather than attacking the Whyaticans.

The picket line was reinforced by second-echelon ships, adding their firepower and increased armour to the mix of the picket line. The remaining first-echelon ships were being picked off slowly as the second-echelon ships took their place. They fired their main guns at the other Samtonian escorts, using them as cover against other inner-tier Samtonian ships. Railgun equipped ships attacked the heavily armoured enemy capital ships while the coilgun equipped battlecarriers threw their lot in with the assault team, as well as covering the normal carriers.

Pincer ships slowly began to advance at the carriers, which were being guarded by the battlecarriers and some heavy escorts. The carrier escorts fired their armaments at the pincer ships, which ranged from 8" DP guns to 25" coilguns. The firepower of the escorts should deter any assault on the carriers..

Submerged forces were holding out against the Samtonian vessels, popping in and firing torpedos and restealthing. A massive game of cat and mouse took place below the waterline, with torpedos shooting through the waters to no end. The wreckage underneath the ocean was getting to the point where submarines used the wreckage as cover. A Whyatican sub waited for a Samtonian submarine to cross across some wreckage, when it suddenly sprung up and fired three torpedos at the enemy sub.

Although outnumbered, the Whyatican sailors were brave and brash, and more importantly, they were unafraid of engaging at extreme close range, making this a naval battle to remember...

"I have recieved reports that the troops have been arriving in the rear bunkers, and should be all but completely unloaded by now."

"The supplies and artillery are with them, I assume?"

"Yes, sir, they are. The allied troops, equipment, and supplies from RD and Albu-querque are en route to our southern defenses. Has Aitchimg responded?"

"They have agreed to supply one million soldiers as well, and those troops are currently on ships. They aren't particularly good troops, a bit underfed when we first got them. But they can fight, and that's what matters.

"Also, we have recieved word from Deatharon. They are allowing use of their airspace, sea, and land in support of our war effort, and have promised forces in support of our defense."

"Speaking of the Arterusian allies, the members of the Arterusian Mutual Aid Pact have stepped up on their attacks on Kravenian forces as well. The blockade, though now little more than a delay, seems to be in serious trouble."

"Still, none of this includes any offensive on Kraven territory. We will need that if this war is ever to turn around."

Rear bunkers, Besieged Wall(Zukariaan besieged)
The last of the trains were unloading quickly within the underground bunkers, and the troops were quickly hurrying to the tunnels and trams that connected to the rest of the bunkers and wall. Every unoccupied position was filled, the remaining artillery was reassembled, and more was brought in and assembled until the artillery bunkers were absolutely full.

Several thousand missle launchers began spouting anti-tank missles at the Zukariaan tanks, and the armor piercing machine guns on both the outer wall and secondary line concentrated their fire. The doors to the artillery sections opened, and an impressive volley fired at the earthshakers before reloading and readying another volley. Between vollies (they alternated by section so that one was always firing), the huge bunker doors closed, though they only had a moment between finishing closing and having to begin opening again.

Commander Arthur Farburg spoke over the PA system, giving orders for troops to rush to certain areas and be ready for assault. He quickly switched on the screens that had been switched off and surveyed the situation. The enemy tanks were still trying to advance into the area between the frontal and secondary fortifactions, though the anti-tank missles had began firing. He could see the earthshaker artilery for a moment before the ground around them exploded from the artillery rounds, clouding the area in dirt and smoke, and the conitued artillery strikes kept the view cloudy, thus making damage all but impossible to assess at this point. (OOC: Yes, I have done almost exactly the same thing before to avoid GMing, and yes I will do it again)

"Ready the troops for the CP assault," he barked to the officers attending him, "And contact the other areas of the wall as well as high command, telling them we have arrived and are defending. Also, ready the . . .

OOC: Even if your big tanks could form a circle like that in such cramped quarters, which seems highly unlikely, it would take some time for them to do so. Rear bunkers, Besieged Wall(Whyatican besieged)

"Hurry up!" the Errikan captain shouted as the trains were quickly unloaded. The troops and supplies from the allies of Mucro were being unloaded, as they had been for the past hour, and the Errikans were beginning to grow impatient with what they saw as a lack of dicipline amoungst their foreign allies.
What part of the million Doomyness soldiers had been unloaded were loud and rowdy, clearly thirsty for battle and showing the lack of dicipline that they were famous for amounst the Errikans. The troops from Albu-querque were far better and could understand German, which was a second laguage known by any Errikan worth mentioning, making the translation process far easier (the troops from RD spoke Russian, though their captains would speak English or German).

The long-range artillery pieces were hurried to the artillery bunkers, and the troops were hurried to the frontal bunkers. At this point they carried their rifles (some from Doomyness bolt action or assault, some Errikan supplied assault and armor piercing), and some granades (Dommyness soldiers were most farmiliar with explosives, and would often fall back on that more than other troops), but would be fully equipped when they neared the frontal bunkers. Supplies and ammunition were all shipped on fast moving carts, reaching the front in a very short time.

"We have recieved word that our troops have arrived at the position being assaulted by Kraven forces in the north," one of the operators reported to the commander, who smiled.

"Good."

I don't want a single earthshaker left in one piece!" He took a deep huff of his cigarrette, leaning forward to watch the screens in the command center for this section of the wall. His troops were swiftly following orders, manning, arming and equipping for the assault. Now he was glad for the billions of Errikan credits they spent on training.

" . . . And the troops from Aitchimg are well on their way."

The commander was informing the Emperor's council of the situation of the ground war (as well as the battle in the blockade) (via video conference).

Emperor Victor smiled. To be quite honest, he had expected that entire section of territory to fall in the first month an a half, and for the war to advance to other regions aside from a small guerilla conflict (he didn't have any confidence in the possible progress of such a conflict; Errikans despised such combat as cowardly). But now things had changed. They could certainly last much longer, if not hold the territory for the duration of the war.

"Thank you commander," he responded as the man concluded, "That will be all."

"Yes, sir!" he saluted before turning off his screen. Military men tended to refer to the Emperor as "Sir," "Commander," or "General," perhaps sometimes "My Emperor," whereas others would call him, "My Emperor" or "Your Highness," among other things.

Weapson Factory, Zarva

The Errikan manager looked out the large window that formed one wall of his main office. It overlooked the largest production area, where countless Zarvans were working non-stop building weapons, equiptment, and supplies for sale, mostly to the Errikan government.

He turned his chair back to his desk, where a computer and piles of paper contained the information concerning sales, orders, and all of the other information concerning the factory. It was mostly the standard stuff: arms, ammo, and armored vehicles. This facility specialized on vehicles, while other facilities in this sector specialized in the other things. All were expected to be able to make assault rifles, their ammo, and bayonets. (The Errikans sure do love bayonets: A foreigner once commented that he was surprised when he found out they didn't put bayonets on their granades)

Lately, however, he had been recieving strange orders. They were all for specific parts, which went off to be assembled elsewhere. This in itself was not so strange, but the parts were unusual. They seemed to be sections of combat jets and heavy bombers.

Zukariaa']OOC-Besides that, you don't have all 6 million in your army. You still have to worry about Navy and Air Force. And who is protecting your mainland?

I am well aware of that. He didn't say army, he said military. Concerning the protection of my "mainland," that is one of the main reasons Roberts was hesitant.

OOC:You have 134 million people. You spend 50 billion dollars per year on defense. You cannot possibly afford to mobilize two million people, much less six and a half million. Further, if you want allies to help you in the battle, have them roleplay their troops.

The thing about 50 billion on defense is (This is a lot of useless information, so probably just skip to the next paragraph)only because I have not gotten the damned spending issue that everyone I know has gotten (I keep getting issues about things that are not the government's business, like the enviornment), if it were with the realism of my guy actually running the government, which would be far more realistic, then we would spend $753,625,094,925.13 on the military (based on the total amount they provided for my economy and several different calculations, all done in excel) (I could give you a copy of that budget if you like).

As for my allies, they are, on a large part, far too lazy to post, or don't want to provide their email address. I went to them, requested troops, and they provided some, allowing me to command them. When I first got a nation, I commited some of my troops to foreign command (they are, in fact, still there). It is a good way to support a cause that you don't have time to and to get experienced men.

The check station, normally fairly quiet, was swarming with activity as troops, equiptment, and supplies were being loaded from one set of trains to another. The description one commander had once made of the soldiers of Aitchimg being "underfed" was far from true, but the poor rations provided to them by their government had caused many to be malnorished (a short while on the Errikan rations would fix that, though. They were extreamly healthy, and when coupled with a chocolate bar pretty much covered all bases when it comes to nutreints the body needs. However, they were the primary grievence of the Errikan soldier as they were extreamly bland and not to appealing to look at, being a white block).

The food of Aitchimg was not the only thing that betrayed the soldiers, however.

"Look at those uniforms," one Errikan officer commented to another, "They look like someone stole the old thrown out Doomyness uniforms and gave them to these men."

"Don't you know? Nudity is compulsory in Aitchimg! Plus, the dictator is not about to spend money for something like uniforms to protect his troops. Hell, if Errikan companies weren't producing their weapons, they would be equipped with sticks."

"Doesn't he care about five percent of his population?"

"They are no longer five percent; the population of Aitchimg has nearly doubled."

"Like we need more fat, stupid, ugly people in the world," he shook his head, "Do these people just reproduce through fission?"

"Their dictator seems to think so. But then again, he never actually sees them."

"What?"

"He stays locked up in his own palace, which is more like his own forbidden city for him and the families of his high officials, and only ever sees his own private herum consisting of all of the nubile women, and some high ranking officials. For a normal person, being seen by him is punishable by death."

"Damn," the officer said, turning back to the trains, "It's times like these that I am more glad than usual that I was born Errikan."

"Amen."

Within another hour the troops and supplies were fully loaded into the new trains and on their way.

Ten thousand men of the Danteri Auxilary Core marched in grim lock step towards the front, moving to join the Zukariaan army, where they would prove their worth or die trying. It would be a difficult fight, but these men were already veterans, who had fought in their own homelands civil war, and so they were not afraid.
Ten thousand pairs of black combat boots trudged across Arterus, while combat engineers lay down a rough road for the supply lines that would follow.
Meanwhile, the freighters were turning back for Danteri, turning back to load on another 10,000 men, who were already waiting in the ports...

- The Danteri Auxilaries are preparing to fight - they will be at the front in a couple of hours, and could be there sooner, except that they are delaying to set up a supply infastructure (roads, supply sites, etc.)

It was almost dawn when they joined the fighting, moving forward to join the Zukariaans they served... ten thousand men marching in lock step, then breaking formation... they might be disciplined, but they weren't stupid. They would fight like modern soldiers.
Ten thousand fresh soldiers have joined the Zukariaans, ten thousand rifles, one thousand machine-guns, one thousand mortars and another thousand anti-tank missile launchers... these Danteri soldiers were a worthy addition to the Zukariaan/Kraven efforts in that sector.

IC: Famous field reporter Dedrick Norwich recently took a trip to The Lands of Arterus to report the major construction that was just about to begin:

"It was just amazing," said Dedrich, "It looked like a huge wall of locusts charging a defencless crop in all directions. The sound of all those engines impersonated a thunder storm frightening the animals; picking up dirt like asand storm.... then suddenly, like the ye of a hurricane, all was calm. The trucks stoped, the doors swung open, and a second annslaught was upon the land. The boots of thousands of workers left their mark on the land. And as quickly as this all started, they began building. Such loyalty to ones own country. They worked for hours on end. Before I knew it, a whole fort was built. At this rate, the whole colony would be covored in military camps in a couple of weeks.

IC:

At the temporary headquarters in Albu-querque, Arterus, Julius Raab, Ulrich Grauert, and Karl Koller (left to right: Chief of the Army, Chief of the Navy, Chief of the Air Force) have their first meeting to discuss "Operation Stalking Panther."

"As we all know," starts Julius Raab, "There is a war going on in Arterus, and already we have transfered 250,000 land troops under Errikland command. They won't last long and I will not stand by while my men be slaughtered by Kraven savages. You must send all you can spare and save our people (turns to Ulrich and Karl).

Ulrich Grauert responds, "It will be difficult to send a strong enough fleet to our Arterus ports. We need to get the eastern beach and have ask our friends in Errikland to prevent the Kravens from sinking them."

After a brief pause, Karl Koller begins, "This is no problem for the excellent AFA (Air Force of Albu-querque). However, we need to send many builders to build some air bases. For this, we will also need Errikland help.

Julius Raab interupts, "Well before we build any military bases, we need some defensive ones. We can't have the enemy barge in with our pants down."

Eduar Baar-Baarenfels, Head of Military Intelligence, barges through the door, "Sirs, I have taken the liberty of maping out some strategic locations in our Arterus lands, and created a list of supplies and special forces we will need to have an unbreakable defence."

"Well, this was unexpected," said Julius, "I didn't even know you were coming to Arterus, but it's always nice to hear good news at such a horrific time. Let me see the list."

"The Ultimate Defence Check List"

In terms of manpower:

[]Marsh lands and beach defence: We will need 200,000 Marines; 100,000 to each of our beaches.

[]Mountain and hill defence: we will need 100,000 mountaineers; evenly spread out.

[]Heavily forested and vegetated defence: 30,000 camaflaged snipers .

[]Plains and barren land defence: 500,000 infantry, 40,000 garrisons, and 30,000 HQ divisionsl.

[]All korps: 40,000 medics, 20,000 communication/code-breakers, 30,000 panzers, and 10,000 cavalry will be evenly assigned.

In terms of defencive buildings:

[]Watch towers every 20-30 miles.

[]Bunkers at every strategic location; surrounded with 15ft iron fences with barbed wired tops in a 1/4 mile perimeter.

[]Two AA (anti-air) stations and 4 turrets at each bunker; both protected by 3ft walls of sandbags.

[]Barbe wire blockades in the mid-land and beaches; with large structures and trenches preventing tank advancement.

In terms of military buildings:

[]Factories of Errikalnd's manufacturing corporation, Weapson, and military manufacturing and oil companies. Our own also.

[]Airbases/hangers

[]Garrages/motor-pools

[]Barrackses/mess-halls/commisaries

[]Infermory

[]Harbors/docks

Another 30,000 Danteri Auxiluaries are being loaded onto transports and shipped to Arterus. This will bring the total up to 50,000 men, all fighting for The Supreme State, all prepared to give their lives for Kraven...
In other news, further construction is underway in the Danteri Auxiluary rear area - they're improving the network of roads that they already set up, and are building a rail line to transport shells from their supply areas to their artillery positions.
In order for the rail lines to be usable, they are shipping three train engines over to Arterus from Danteri - these machines are old coal powered monsters from before the war, but they are in good condition, so should be fairly usable.
Additionaly, forward fortifications are being constructed - camoflauged artillery pits, zig-zaging lines of trenches and reinforced concrete bunkers. All in all, it looks like these Danteri Auxiluaries are here to stay, and mean to be as useful to Zukariaa and Kraven as they can...

”They came in close enough that even the smaller secondaries were coming into play. The smell of burning flesh mingled with the powder drifting up from our guns and the sight of those massive Kravenite vessels moving in towards the center of the line inspired fear across the deck. I remember that at the time it seemed as if they were going for a knock-out thrust right through the center of the line and it didn’t look like we were going to be able to stop it.” -Excerpt from “Annihilator- A true account of the Battle of the Tarantagio Sea”

1st Expeditionary Fleet, Tarantagio Sea
The main thrust of the Corporation’s fleet had already pushed through the first line of secondaries, with the Samtonian center slowly unpeeling in front of the Kravenite attack. AS ship after ship fell to broadsides fired at point-blank range it seemed as if two ships jumped in to replace them. Though Samtonia had numerical superiority the Kravenites had managed to achieve tactical superiority at the breakthrough point and it was telling. For every vessel that fell behind in the advance at least three moved forward and it seemed as if the mass of Kravenite vessels was unstoppable.

The aerial and naval actions had been fought to stalemates, as Samtonian planes were too busy dodging ordinance to help in any strong way with the battle and the Samtonian submersible forces continued to slug with the Kravenites. Their superior numbers were winning through as they ground their way across a sea filled with newly-formed wreckage that came from combatants both above and below the sea, but they too were too held up to contribute to the battle above except in small numbers, numbers that were not able to sway anything in a decisive way.

SNS Plato
“What’s the use of allowing them in if we can’t stop them?” asked Shaw to the assorted officers who were even now participating in a teleconference while the battle raged around them. “Captain Wainwright, you are to detach the third of the fleet I have specified and move immediately to support the pincer formation. I want you in between that support group and the exit for the rest of their fleet. Prepare to provide aid to the rest of the fleet should that be required, but focus on destroying those ships that hung back. And, of course, be careful about those carriers.”

The gaunt captain nodded as his image winked out. The conference was by now down to only Shaw and the highest ranking officers of the fleet. “Gentlemen, as you can tell the enemy has now fully entered the zone that we widened expressly for this purpose. Your job is to halt their drive or they’re going to break out the other side of our fleet and that is something I specifically do not want to have happen. Conner, you’ll have the intercept detail. Stop that enemy super dreadnought and we stop their advance.”

“Aye aye sir,” answered the captain who had been one of Shaw’s closest friends at the naval academy, precisely the reason he had been trusted to a role as important as the one he was being given now.

SNS Restless
“Conner out.” Captain Nicholas Conner turned from where he had been transmitting to the impromptu conference and cursed out loud as he surveyed the tactical view of the battle he had laid out before him. The noose had closed around the rear of the Kravenite fleet that had advanced, meaning that the enemy vessels were trapped in what had become a cauldron of fire that roiled out from both sides. Of course, the closure of the exit route was moot if he couldn’t fulfill his command and stop the Corporation from simply smashing through the other side of the now solidified battle line.

He had the remaining Dreadnought HKs that were in the sector assigned to him and those were even now pouring broadsides into the advancing fleet. He had the largest dreadnoughts in the zone, including his command dreadnought. And the enemy fleet was still bearing down on them. By this point the escorts had been shot away to fall behind the advancing ships of the line, so Conner stared into the growing face of what was now close enough to be revealed as the Wake Island. Which, befitting its status as the lead ship, was now having every round of ordinance poured into it that could be brought to bear.

1st Expeditionary Fleet, Tarantagio Sea
The men in the column moving to the support of the pincer group could by now not see what was going on inside the mass that was the center of the Samtonian battle line. Smoke and debris was being thrown up in quantities so thick that even some types of radar were being blocked out and ships were by now so close together that what radar could pick up it often couldn’t identify as friend or foe. That was not a problem in the area that Wainwirght was moving into, an area where he outnumbered the enemy by an even greater margin as a result of having detached a larger portion of the Samtonian fleet that was too far outside the melee taking place not even 25km away.

Inside the pocket it was as bad as it appeared from the outside. Ships whose progress had been slowed were turning to match Samtonian broadsides with their own, while the part of the fleet that was still able to move ahead at full or nearly full steam was continuing to do so. As the Wake Island proudly led the way, the Kravenite fleet smashed into the wall that had been thrown up to stop them from breaking through. Literally, at times.

SNS Plato
Potter gasped as he saw what was about to take place. He grabbed a pair of binoculars that were lying on the ready room console and dashed out onto deck, heedless of the danger that was present in the air around him. Only an instinctive duck saved his head from being detached from his shoulders as a railgun round smashed its way through the armor directly above him, the small hole mere inches from his scalp. But even this near-death did not phase Porter as much as what he saw when he looked into his binoculars.

The lead Kraven ship, its engine outlets shot to pieces, had apparently lost the ability to steer and was by now too close to the Restless to slow in time. And because it was larger than the Restless it didn’t need to. Porter gazed across the smoke-filled distance between him and one of his best friends as Conner turned towards the Plato and saluted at the man who he had known for thirty years. Fleet Admiral Potter choked back a sob as he watched the massive prow of the enemy super dreadnought plow into the side of the Restless which was trying to get out of the way even as it was being rammed into.

With a terrific grinding Potter could hear even from the position he stood at, underneath one of the secondary guns on the Plato, the Restless began to crumple under the mass of the larger ship. The bridge was crushed under the mass of the prow as the Kravenite vessel pushed its way out of the water and onto the Samtonian vessel, pushing both down. A pall of smoke rose over the debris-strewn decks and the next sight that Potter saw after the smoke cleared away filled him with disgust.

The Restless was nearly shorn in half, her superstructure mangled and her guns bent out of shape if they weren’t blown off. The upper deck was a shambles, with burning ordnance and mangled bodies strewn about it. But the prow of the enemy Dreadnought was wedged too deeply in to extricate itself and the two vessels were now stuck together.

Conner had stopped the advance. But now was no time for ruminations, as the men on board the vessel that still lived needed to be rescued. So Potter hurriedly dashed back into the command room to transmit the order for the first time in over 150 years- the order to board.

SNS Babylon
The head of every man on the ship turned up to look at the loudspeakers as they blared out something that not one of the crew, marine or navy, ever though they would hear. “All marines- prepare for boarding! All marines- prepare for boarding!”

The assault troops chosen to lead the assault on both the enemy super dreadnought and the ships that now had taken up position around it and were being grappled with by Samtonian vessels moving in close had never participated in a boarding action during a naval battle before. they had never had to and had never thought that naval combat could regress to the stage where they would have to. But the same call that went out to their ancestors hundreds of years earlier resonated in their minds as the iron gangplanks thudded down into the side of the enemy ship. “All marines- fix bayonets. No quarter, no mercy!”

1st Expeditionary Fleet, Tarantagio Sea
The scene was playing out all over the battlefield. As Samtonian ships drew in to aid the ships that already were engaged in boarding actions, they were forced to attempt to close with Kravenite vessels to avoid the massive guns of ships that they were now getting so close to that tracking was simple. Boarding actions did not often result- it often became a brutal slugging match at ranges close enough to use rifles, with Samtonian ships crowding around the outsides of the battlefield and pushing their way in to try to engage the enemy. In some areas the Samtonians outnumbered three to one and in others the reverse was true. But the nexus was the massive melee between the surviving crews of the Wake Island and the Restless and the multiple Samtonian dreadnoughts that fought their way in close enough to board.

From a distance, it looked strangely like a pack of animals attacking prey, as the attackers latched on at points all around the ship to try to overbalance the Wake with their weight of numbers. It was a historic occasion, though the men participating might be excused if they didn’t think of it that way at the time. They were too busy trying to stay alive.

The Samtonians had become our most deadly of enemies at sea - This fight was the most hard-fought battle in the history of the Whyatican Navy. We had closed to the point where the Capitol Police onboard all of our vessels were shooting at the Samtonians on deck while our gunners fired at them without the computers, just shooting at whatever Samtonian vessels they saw. I was on the bridge of WSS Jailhouse, and [Grand Admiral] Salazar sent the order for us all [captains] to penetrate the Samtonian line at any cost. That order itself sent a chill down my spine, as I knew there was a high probablity of my ship not making it out.. Excerpt from "Annihilator - A True Account of the Battle of the Tarantagio Sea"

Kraven Battlefleet
On the command bridge of WSS Hood, the secondary flagship of the Kravenite Battlefleet, a massive brawl over the continued strategy ensued.

"We cannot wait up for Wake Island, we must push past her! The Capitol Police onboard can hold her for a very long time, and as we push past we can remove some of the Samtonian bastards."

"No, we have to slow down and destroy all of the ships that are boarding Wake Island, we can ill afford to lose a capital ship at this point."

"If we slow down, we're lost. We have enough momentum to break through the Samtonian line as it is, we cannot afford to lose any speed at this point."

"I agree," said Grand Admiral Salazar, "we will not halt for Wake Island. Order the missile destroyers to fire a salvo at any vessels currently boarding Wake, and try to get the ship dislodged from the Samtonians. Other than that, the advance continues. Move out, gents!"

As Salazar ordered, the massive battle-line formation of Kraven Corporation capital ships flew past Samtonian vessels at speed, firing ungodly amounts of munitions at the Samtonian ships ahead and to the side of them. To any observers of this battle, it appeared as though a massive tidal wave of Kravenite vessels was bearing down upon the Samtonian fleet, carving them straight down the middle as the advance continued. The picket line of destroyers and cruisers was a non-sequitur at this point, having recieved the brunt of the initial Samtonian fire. Here and there, one would find a lone destroyer or a cruiser continuing to fire at Samtonian vessels, largely ignored now due to the advance of the capital battle-line.

The Whyatican aerial doctrine was simple for this battle - Contest aerial superiority through all fleet-based launchers. This doctrine was carried out very simply through the use of fleet-based StA missiles, which fired with such intensity as to warp some Pulsar class cruiser's VLS cells, making them utterly unusable for the rest of the fleet action. Those ships relied on their 5" dual-purpose guns to assist the capital wave, aiming at targets of opportunity such as smaller Samtonian escorts. Other ships, however, were within range to use their 30mm CIWS gun systems to take potshots at Samtonian aerial assets.

The submerged battle became a deadly game of hide-and-seek, as Whyatican submarines would hide in the wreckage of sunk ships and wait for Samtonian submarines, and in other places the tables were turned, the Whyatican sub hunting the Samtonian in unlikely hiding places. It remained mostly even under the sea, as neither side had made any serious pushes to destroy all submerged assets. In one case, a Samtonian capital ship was sunk and as a Whyatican sub went through it, it encountered, Surprise! a Samtonian submarine.

WSS Wake Island was the operational flagship for this fleet, and as such it led the way proudly through the Samtonian formation, hundreds of Whyatican ships followed, fighting bravely for their nation. As the Wake Island slammed into the SNS Restless, everyone onboard was jarred violently, although due to the much larger mass of Wake Island it was mostly undamaged by the impact. On the bridge, Captain Rudtzinger began barking out orders to get the ship dislodged from the Samtonian.

"Order all our DP guns to fire at the point of impact, open us a hole so we can push ourselves out. Rotate our main guns to face the dreadnaughts circling us, focus on their top decks to prevent them from boarding. Mobilize all Capitol Police, get sailors manning the machine guns on deck. All hands, prepare for boarding!"

Gunners on Wake Island rotated the 26.75 inch main guns around as quickly as they could to bear on the shark-like Samtonian dreadnaughts now circling them, firing rounds at very close range. Other ships were much too close for the main guns to depress far enough, so they met the brunt of the 155mm DP gun fire. Missile cells were sealed so as not to provide a tempting target for the Samtonian fire, and as the first Samtonian marines boarded, they would find a hailstorm of .50 calibre machine gun fire. Wake Island, as well as any other Questarian ship used in Whyatica, was equipped with top-mounted machine guns so as to discourage boarding attempts such as this one.

Capitol Police onboard the Wake Island fortified all available positions such as hallways and doors, bulkheads were immediately sealed and certain doors were completely blocked off, providing advancing Samtonian marines with only one direct path through a hallway that had a dozen Capitol Police with heavy machine guns in it. Sandbags were brought up from below-decks, providing an additional layer of fortification for the Capitol Police. Kriegsmarines on the lower decks immediately fixed bayonets to their assault rifles and went above, firing at the Samtonian marines as they boarded. A fireteam of Kriegsmarines quickly formed, one heavy weapons man with them. They moved to the boarding ramp from one of the vessels quickly, shooting across the decks of both ships. The goal - Attach a block of C12 to the boarding ramp and destroy it. Similar fireteams were forming all across Wake Island, their crew experienced in such matters.

The pincer movement did not go un-noticed by the carriers, submarines, escorts, and capital vessels on the outside of the fleet movement. Five Warspite class heavy battleships turned their broadsides to meet the pincer movement, firing 27.1in shells at the new vessels. The Warspite escorts immediately formed up around the vessels, providing a CIWS and AA net around them. Fighters, albeit not part of the Kraven doctrine for battles, prepared on the Gorgoroth class aircraft carriers in case the order came to launch. Submarines dove below the thermocline and went complete stealth, preparing to fire their torpedos and missiles at the newcomers.

The Axim fighter-bombers on board the ships that had been seconded to the Danteri Auxiluaries were launched to aid the Whyatica Navy. However, they launched from too far out, and so were only able to make one pass before returning - as such, they were equipped with heavy anti-shipping loads - torpedos and missiles, all meant for no greater purpose than to win Danteri glory as part of the Kravenite war machine. These attack runs would have little enough impact on the fighting, to be sure, but they represented Danterian Kravenites coming to the aid of their fellow members of the Kravenite alliance - as opposed to crying out for help themselves.

Besides, I don't see how it can be traced back to us. We'll have to sacrifice the satellite, certainly, but to strike a blow against Kraven..."

"Yes, sir."
***
The Mjolnir was a missile satellite, designed to strike from the sky. Against such formididable (sp?) anti-missile defenses as Kraven undoubtedly possessed, it wouldn't work terribly well if used conventionally. Which is why it was designed to deploy miles above the ground. The missiles in question contained a particularly virtulent strain of Anthrax, which would disperse over Kraven territory.

Both were fired. Moments later, the Mjolnir several thousand miles away and in low orbit, exploded, blown apart by charges placed inside at it's construction, that had suddenly ceased being inert at an electrical signal.

Kraven Territory in Arterus

The chemical attack had only really been effective against the civilian targets, those who were unprotected from the effects of the Anthrax attack, so while in many places thousands died from the effects, the Military infrastructure remained in tact, the majority of officers and other military personnel in underground bunkers where the air was filtered and purified to prevent such attacks from taking down the Kraven War Machine…

However, it has to be noted that in the attack, Kraven was well aware of who the perpetrator was.
Satellites and ground telescopes that had been watching the skies, making notes of the various satellites above Kraven territory, so, locating the satellite that caused the attack was fairly simple and required going over several notes and documents detailing what satellites where above Kraven at the beginning of the attack and to whom they belonged by specific markings and construction styles, it must also be noted that during the AMF - Kraven war, Automagfreek made extensive use of Satellites above Kraven to keep tabs on Kraven formations and so learning that lesson well, The High Command set up this satellite monitoring part of the Military wing to ensure that satellites watching Kraven formations could be brought down swiftly…

In the end and after several hours searching the data logs, the satellite was identified, then tracked until its position above Kraven was confirmed, then its eventual destruction, the markings and specific construction styles made it out to be a Satellite from the nation of Aseon, and as such… The Kraven Doctrine on WMD’s was brought into play…

An Agent of the Kraven Agency stepped up before the great Father, he gave the information, the numbers, the losses and the various other titbits of information on the satellite, its orbit, and its origin.. And so the Great Father gave forth the word…

Kraven WMD Nuclear Holocaust, Day 1

The Nuclear Missile silos across Kraven opened, slowly at first the hiss of steam and other air products being let out as various hydraulics moved the doors into the open position, the Missiles were prepared and the crews of the firing Station were ready for the final phases of launch, it must be noted that this was the first time ever in the history of Kraven that someone had defied Kraven enough to use a WMD against the Supreme State and so was the first time, Kraven itself and The Supreme State had to make the Total and Full Nuclear Retaliation…

Within seconds the Fire teams had placed the launch codes into the computers and the countdown had begun, Concremo, Kraven, Whyatica, Zukariaa, Numonica, all of these Nations enslaved by Kraven prepared their missiles, and quickly one by one, the missiles launched, causing massive plumes of white smoke to rise into the sky as the 1GT warheads of several missiles were thrust into the sky by the immense power of the Kraven missiles, their sleek black structure had a huge Twin Hammer motif and the letters KSSF or Kraven Strategic Strike Force, below those letters was the Kraven Eagle with two lighting bolts clutched in its claws…

Around 110 Nuclear ICBM’s 100 to 200mts were launched at The Aseons territory, Cities, Military Installations including their ability to strike in return… this was only Stage one of the Aseons Punishment for defying Kraven they had another four days worth to go….

OOC: Just for the record, it was several thousand miles away from your territory when it attacked. I don't know how far out your satellite monitoring extends, so...

IC: Not unmindful of the risk, Chandra and her top advisors, including the comatose Keene, had disappeared shortly before the attack. The Mjolnir bunkers, buried deep beneath earth, concrete, and bedrock, survived, and the remaining Mjolnir satellites, most thousands of miles away from Kraven territories, began launching nuclear missiles in return. In full, fifty normal nuclear missiles were launched, along with ten of the anthrax missiles, and one nuclear missile designed, like the anthrax missiles, to explode above a major city, counting on the fallout to cost Kraven technicians and workers, if not soldiers.

In The Aeson, and assorted territories, casualties were immense. Cities were wiped off of the map. Personal suffering was often too grotesque to describe in detail. Suffice to say those vaporized by the initial blast were fortunate.

Commander Farburg ordered a continued bombardment, but searched for a channel in which he could communicate with the Zukariaans. Perhaps the bloodshed here could be avoided.

"Sir," a com cracked to life, "Docking Commander Luis Raymond, First Class reporting."

"Spit it out, commander," Farburg barked, "There's a battle going on."

"Our Aitchimg reinforcements are all but unloaded, and a new order has just come in. The following legions are required at T4821." A list lit up one of Farburg's screens. He examined it, noting the numbers, before returning to the com.

"Send the legions, and send the Aitchimgites or whatever you call them to the front."

"Yes, commander. Out"

Samtonia

1st Expeditionary Fleet, Tarantagio Sea
By this point in the day, the engagement had been going on for hours and still showed no signs of slowing. The clustered Samtonian ships were taking damage, but inflicting a horrific toll on the Corporation’s navy, as its nexus continued to run the gauntlet that was the Samtonian trap. Not only were the Kravenite vessels finally outnumbered in the sector the engagement was taking place in their average size was by now substantially smaller than the Samtonian capital ships that were participating.

And the fairly straight course the navy was taking in trying to cut through the Samtonian trap was giving the gunners on board the fleet easy targets, with broadside after broadside slamming into the quickly moving ships. The lack of escorts was also severely impacting the Kravenites, with the smaller turrets of Samtonian escorts able to be brought in extremely close to enemy vessels and still be able to fully track the Kraven ships. A problem that many Kravenite vessels were running into, despite the small engagement ranges, was the simple fact of traverse power- they couldn’t target the immobile Samtonian ships quickly enough as they moved past. The decimation of the escorts meant that a Samtonian ship often only had to endure one or two shells coming at it before the Kraven ship was out of their angle of fire, meaning that the gun either had to attempt to traverse enough to hit it again or simply had to try to range to the next target.

Samtonian ships didn’t need to do this. They were able to simply plug away at the line of advance, almost guaranteed some kind of hit on anything moving past. Had the sector been as outnumbered as it was when the attack had first started, this wouldn’t have mattered. But weight of numbers had a major impact now and it appeared that the trap was going to succeed. Though Samtonian vessels continued to be sunk or taken out of action the disparity in their numbers and Kraven numbers continued to widen. Admiral Potter’s plan was working.

SNS Plato, 1st Expeditionary Fleet, Tarantagio Sea
It was a good feeling for Potter when he saw the morass of Kraven ships slowing ever so gradually. As damage mounted, ship after ship was taken out of the advancing line and cut to pieces by the Samtonian vessels simply waiting for that eventuality. However, Potter did not like what he saw continuing to advance- a number of damaged enemy capitals and their largest vessel, the mighty Annihilator-class Super dreadnought. He’d be damned if those escaped or if that massive ship wasn’t a victim of the Samtonian fleet.

“Potter to Hensley. They’re getting close to the end. I want that gap sealed if they break free. Which, I daren’t have to remind you, they should most certainly not.”

WSS Wake Island, Tarantagio Sea
While the dreadnoughts were absorbing the hits of the Wake’s cannons, they were replying in kind. With so many more dreadnoughts attacking it than it had guns that it could focus on gun after gun was ripped apart by Samtonian ships. They took heavy damage in return, but when over a half-dozen smaller vessels are attacking a larger vessel weight of fire soon plays a pivotal impact.

As boarding party after boarding party began moving towards the Kraven vessel, free of worry from the smoldering DP guns, the gunfire against them trebled in its intensity. Mounted machine guns began to take a toll on the advance parties and some of the boarding lines were actually halted. That is, until the shield bearers came up.

It was an innovative concept, borrowing from the examples of past cultures that were masters at shrugging off ranged fire. A marine would position himself behind an extremely large version of the body armor that they all wore, one with far more ceramic plates inside to provide protection against everything up to heavy machinegun bullets. Using this shield as mobile cover, the marines began leapfrogging forward, with squads prone behind the protection that the leading men could provide.

It wasn’t total protection- indeed, far from it. Forming up into a tortoise formation like the Romans would have been disastrous if a grenade landed nearby. But the protection that it did afford allowed marines to begin streaming onto the deck, their guns getting well within the range required to be able to easily penetrate Kraven armor. 5.56mm NATO ammo might not have, but Samtonia never had trusted 5.56mm ammo and used a round that was far better at penetrating body armor. In physical terms, this meant a lot more marines were able to survive by killing Capital Police and Kriegsmarine before they themselves would have died.

It wasn’t all fun and games. In a number of areas, Kriegsmarine were actually able to detonate explosives on boarding ramps, destroying them before they could be gunned down. But as one boarding ramp went down, another went up and the deck was soon being wrested under Samtonian control, one bloody foot at a time. And the cargo one dreadnought carried was helping immensely in swaying the tide.

4th Division (Urban Assault) II Corps, WSS Wake Island, Tarantagio Sea
With a maniacal laugh, gunner Matthias opened up with the massive flame cannon carried on the I-9 Infernus. The burning gouts of a napalm-like substance arched directly into the machinegun nest that was preventing the marines around the vehicle from advancing. The cheers of the men as they watched the screaming soldiers manning the gun leap off the superstructure into the sea, their skin boiling and burning off their bodies, managed to penetrate the thick armor of the Assault Tank (Chemical) that was one of the many surprises that the 4th Division was equipped with.

AS marines moved forward again, sweeping the stunned Kriegsmarine before them, the men of the 4th Division moved with them. Trained as urban assault troops and equipped as such, the division was literally the best allies the marines could have had for the action. Flamethrowers and tanks equipped with massive flame cannons were clearing corridors and rooms with ease, the asphyxiation of the defenders caused by the flames being shot into the small, enclosed spaces often doing more damage than the flames themselves. Up-armored for defense against surprise attacks within cities, the tanks were often shrugging off anti-tank weapons that should have disabled or destroyed them. And the training of the division was allowing them to advance with the marines into the very corridors of the ship itself, a variety of gadgets allowing them to see where MG nests were and then be able to take them out.

It wasn’t easy going for the men of the division though. A tank brewed up, its massive explosion killing multiple squads huddled nearby. And the corridors within the massive ship were often deathtraps, with bodies piling up by the hundreds on both sides of the fight. But the men were aiding in the attack immensely and it was proceeding far more quickly than anyone on the Samtonian side thought was going to be possible.

The attack groups began to split up as they penetrated further into the ship. Groups headed for munition storage bays, groups headed for the Command Bridge and various back-up bridges. Groups headed for damage control rooms and groups head for the engine rooms. They were going to try to take the ship. And, if that wasn’t possible, demolitions groups were preparing charges to drop down the barrels of the massive main guns of the ship, guns now silent as their crew engaged in the fight against the marines and assault troops that had boarded.

"Fine, just do it."

The central artillery discontinued their current vollies, waiting for a moment before beinning their own vollies. This was a blanket attack, beginning just beyond the wall and advancing forward slowly across the field. The effect was to clear out all Kraven troops anywhere near the wall, but not effecting those directly inside of the fortifications.

When the vollies were nearly half done, the commander relayed his orders, and it began. The dictator of RD had made his desires clear, and Errikland would fulfill them: his troops were to be used as fodder.

The soldiers gave their various battle cries in Russian as they flooded out of every possible exit near the opening in the wall. Though the anit-tank missles focused their fire to cover them, and the men at the slits took up their Kertech III "K3" armor piercing rifles to drill the CP, the immediate casualties were immense as the heavy machine guns of the CP and the tanks drummed away. However, the soldiers, long brainwashed by their government, rushed forward intensively, throwing grenades and firing several shots off before they were mowed down. More than one grenade went off in a crowd of their own, but the vast majority exploded in the vacinity of the crowded Kraven forces. After a minute, using rubble and bodies for cover or just relying on their human wave attacks, the Doomyness soldiers drew near enough to use their field knives. Few climbed on to tanks, strapping heavy explosives on before they were shot. These explosions killed many of their own men in these tight circumstances, but the damage was more than acceptable. One man, having accidentally come out of an opening that led to the top of the wall, strapped explosives to himself and lept to his death amidst the CP below. All the while the men continued to pour out of every opening, adding the the bloodshed.

The commander watched the slaughter with disgust. He disdained such fights; not so much because of the waste of life, though this was a conern, but he viewed such fighting as cowardly and barbaric. But it was how RD's leader had desired his men to be used, and was likely the only effective use under these circumstances. He promised to keep supplying troops until the conflict was over, and the commander silently hoped that he didn't recieve any more.

(OOC: This is happening on Whyatica's front. The commander's view can pretty much sum up the overall Errikan view of such fighting)

Major Farburg recieved word that the attack had begun on Whyatica, and set one of his screens to watch the fighting. He was still looking for a channel on which he could communicate with the Zukariaans, and his troops were rushing every direction to ready for the attack. Some Zukariaans had made it beyond the wall, but the anit-tank missles and heavy machinegun fire contantly croweded the (relatively) narrow entrance.

Now nearly all of the weapons were armed, and the Kraven artillery shots were blasted out of the sky. The Errikan artillery continued the sweep, going all the way up to the Kraven artillery, though much of the fire there was shot before it could strike any target. The vollies now began the sweep again, obliterating any troops or tanks that would try to cross the field to aid the fighters beyond the wall. Meanwhile, the rest of the artillery continued to rain down upon the enemy forces in the rear, including the enemy guns.

13-06-2006, 16:58
On the Zukariaan front, most of the weapons became armed as well, and the Kraven artillery here fared no better. The base was quickly readying, all guns being put into place or given to soldiers, grenades being handed out, K3s finding their way to the front.
