IC:

Richardson stood at his stand. The two judge's seats were manned by a Pythogrian and Moanthan judge. The jury was from both nations.

OOC: What, exactly, are the charges?

OOC: Well, from Moantha, attacks on the millitary government, and leading a rebellion. Punishable by spending the duration of the millitary government in containment, at which time he will become the new government's responsibility. I don't know about Pythogria's charges.

OOC: Responsible for killing my soldiers, a whole 591.

IC:

"Richardson, to the charges of leading a rebellion, attacking the government, and the killing of 591 Pythogrian soldiers, how do you plead?"

"To the charge of leading a rebellion, I am guilty and proud of it, though I would not call it a crime. To the charge of attacking the government? I do not recognize the millitary government, and therefore cannot attack it. To the charge of killing the Pythogrian soldiers? I led the rebellion. Pythogria moved to put it down. There was fighting. But I would not describe it as a crime."

"Whether you like it or not, the military government is in power. I wil lask again... how do you plead?"

"To the crime of attacking the millitary government? Not guilty. But, your honor, if you like, I can predict the outcome of this trial now. I will be found guilty on all counts, and I will probably spend the rest of my life in jail. You cannot, of course, execute me, because that would make me a martyr, which, as you seem to be an intelligent gentleman, I'm sure you have no intentions of doing."

"Not guilty then."

He cleared his throat, and opened his mouth to speak.

OOC: Are we using your justice system or mine? In mine, the judge also acts as the plantiff, at least in cases like this.

OOC: Yours. Mine's still being set up. The new one, that is. It's not ready to handle a high profile case like this. I assume that there are news crews?

OOC: Yes.

IC:

"According to our evidence, you are responsible for the killing of 591 Pythogrian soldiers. As a witness, I call Argus Vonbiel to the stand."

Argus got up and walked to the witness stand.

The judge spoke. "Do you promise that everything you speak is the sole, utter and complete truth, and nothing but the truth?"

"Yes, your Honor. Everything I speak shall be the sole, utter, and complete truth."

"Very well. Tell us... Is this man responsible for the killing of Pythogrian soldiers?"

"Yes, your Honor. His rebellion is. I am the only man left from my squad. we were ambushed from the sides by heavy machine guns after crossing the river. I was hit and my squad is now dead, save me."

"Now, present the video."

A ZS-1 Battlesuit, standard Pythogrian armor (and uniform) was brought up and linked to a computer. It showed the video of bullets flying, men being hit and screaming, death and... well, you get the point.

The judge looked at Richardson.

"I never denied this. I admit that I was responsible for the rebellion. I did not order this particular ambush, but I take responsibility for it."

"Very well. Jury, is this man Guilty or Innocent?"

The jury whispered among themselves, and the lead member stood up, bowed, and said aloud, "Richardson is guilty."

The judge nodded. "Now, as you admitted you began the rebellion, I believe that to be evidence. Jury, is that acceptable?"

The lead member nodded.

"As for your attacks, we can prove this using another video."

Another suit was brought up. This time, the video was of a gurrilia attack on Moantha City. Bullets flew, and this time civillians were killed.

OOC: Really, he didn't. Off to bed now.

"I ordered no guerilla attacks on civilians. I was not aware of any guerilla attacks on civilians."

OOC: Yep, see ya.

IC:

"It appears this is not true. Jury, is this man Guilty or Innocent?"

"Innocent."

"Then we may move on to sentencing. I wil ltell you now, Richardson, that you will not be killed, and that you will be able to live in reasonable conditions in a Pythogrian jail, should you go there."

The jury left into their room to discuss sentencing.

OOC: You can RP a few jury members.

"Should you go to a prison? That is for our jury to decide. But what do you mean by "choice"?"

OOC: Now the jury decides. In my system, the jury decides over two weeks and then the trial commences again for sentencing. The jury loosely sentences. (Basically, if they say 30 years in prison, the judge can go fro m20 to 40 years in prison.)

OOC: Ah.

IC: Richardson rose and headed towards the door, glancing towards the guards that Greyson had assigned to him to supplement any Pythogrian security. Sure enough, they followed him out.
