The Perdition-195mm
This is the newest addition to the royal artillery arsenal. It is the most advanced piece that the RAE manufactures. It is to be instituted as the new primary artillery gun for half of the royal artillery battalions, the other half still belonging to the Mongoose. The new Perdition has been the first artillery platform the RAE has used cold-forged steel in its construction. This new implementation allows the Perdition to fire a huge volume of shells in a short amount of time without overheating or damaging the components. Weight was also a big concern in the Perdition project. By switching to lightweight carbon fiber reinforced plastics, and aluminum, the overall weight of the Perdition, compared to models constructed entirely of steel, was reduced by half, putting it's total weight at less than that of the Mongoose.
Other updates include a more advanced target acquisition system. Whenever a forward observer can paint a target with a laser target designator, the information digitally collected from the soldier can be relayed via satellite or direct secure wireless network, to the Perdition. The on-board computer can then set the necessary weapon adjustments to ensure the target will be hit in the first shot. The computer also has new features to accommodate wind and humidity into its targeting process. For traditional battery fire, the manual adjustment and sighting systems have also been improved over the previous Mongoose model to give the fire crew even greater adjust-ability.
The weapon now only requires a crew of 3. Two loaders, and a fire-pin puller. A crew of 6 is optimal, but in times of war, when manpower becomes thin, this weapon gives the battlefield commander the option of consolidating his manpower to shift his available combat arms where they are needed most.
The Perdition is also the first RAE product to feature the auto eject feature. After the shell is fired, the recoil mechanism grabs hold of the empty shell casing and ejects it out of the right side of the breech of the weapon, just as a rifle ejects spent cartridges out of its ejection port. The Perdition, of course, can also be loaded with a stand-alone shell with powder casings packed behind it to serve as the propellant. This is a failsafe in the event cased shells are not available.
The weapon features the RAE signature delrin and teflon hydraulic recoil pistons. These materials provide a smooth action with very little wear on internal parts. Over 200,000 shots can be fired before the pistons are worn-out to the point of necessitating replacement.
The Perdition is mounted on a single axle, rear anchor mounted chassis, making it tow-able, and air-lift capable.
The ordinance capable of being delivered mirror that of the Mongoose. High Explosive, Anti-tank, anti-infantry (shrapnel), anti infantry (airborne dispersal bomblet), High Penetration (anti-bunker), anti-air, and illumination, are the current munitions qualified to be used in The Perdition. The new larger shell is capable of delivering significantly more firepower than it's predecessor.

165mm Mongoose (http://i9.photobucket.com/albums/a53/GodOfWar102/155howitzer-1.jpg)
Main purpose: This weapon system is designed to fill the role of an all-purpose long-range artillery gun. It uses innovated technologies to keep it in working condition for a extended period of time, with only minimal matenence. It is an effective army stopper. Its incredibly loud impacts demoralize enemy troops, and can cause concussions (high explosive rounds only) from well over 120 feet away from the point of impact. The shells it fire are just as unuiqe as the cannon itself.
Effective range (w/o rocket assist) : 16miles
Effective range (with rocket assist) 28 miles
Ammo: High Explosive-self explanatory, makes a huge 'boom' when it air bursts or hits the ground. This round is effective at all ranges, and can be equipped with rocket assist. This round can be used to clear obstacles, destroy buildings or take out enemy artillery batteries. It is by far the loudest of the collection of shells the Mongoose can fire, making it a demoralizing weapon. It has also been very effective at damaging sub-surface vassals, forcing them to surface.
Armor piercing- This is a short range shell that can deliver either a titanium rod, or
depleted uranium rod impact projectile, with almost twice as much kinetic energy as
the typical SABOT tank round. Fragmentation: This is a round that can be set to air burst, detonate on contact, or at low
trajectory, explode up to 15m underwater. This round is extremely effective at close-to- medium ranges. Borrowing ideas that have been used for centuries, the shell is packed full of tiny subunit rounds. But unlike standard fragmentation shells, this shell also can be
emptied and filled with the special miniature high explosive bomblets, making this shell
ideal for killing mass infantry, or disabling an enemy airstrip or fuel depot.
Recoil: 14" hydraulic return.
RPM: 8-9 shots per minute sustainable for the first half hour, 4 shots per minute sustained there after.
Weight: 7,500lbs
Accuracy: within 50feet first shot
Muzzle velocity: 3000-3300 feet per second (depending on shell fired)
Features: Laser rangefinder, windage meter, self-lubing delrin hydraulic piston return recoil system (that's right, no oil needed),light enough to be transported by any typical transport helicopter (ex Chinook), electrical gun pivot system with manual backup. Infrared, ultra violet, and night vision scopes.
Service life: 200,000 shells until breach section needs swapping. 100,000 shells per hydraulic piston replacement. Two Forward wheels, on a pivotable chassis. Gun elevation is controlled by a electrical gear system, or in emergencies, by a leverage manually operated control system.
COST: $1,510,000 USD
105mm Jackal (http://i9.photobucket.com/albums/a53/GodOfWar102/105mm.jpg)
Purpose: This is a shorter range artillery platform that is primarily used against infantry and lightly armored vehicle targets. Its main advantage is that due to its small size and light weight, and small crew, they can be transported in large numbers at low cost, very quickly. Several Jackals can be dismantled, folded and secured in the bays of most cargo aircraft. Their ability to be transported en-mass makes them excellent logistical options.
Effective Range: 9 miles
Ammo: High explosive, air burst, ground delay burst (impacts, time elapse, shell ignites) armor piercing, incineration
Weight: 3,800 lbs
Accuracy: Within 5 yards first shot.
Recoil: 10.5"
RPM: 8 shots per minute for the first 15 minutes, 6 shots per minute sustained.
Muzzle velocity: 2700 feet per second
Features: 270* of transition, hydro-pneumatic recoil return, laser rangefinder, night vision scopes, 2 wheel front end chassis, manual or hydraulic elevation control, easy-open breach
COST: $909,000 USD
Hyperion (Mounted) (http://i9.photobucket.com/albums/a53/GodOfWar102/BAeBofors155e.jpg)
120mm Hyperion anti-tank direct fire weapon.
Effective range: 4 miles as anti-tank, up to 12miles used as standard artillery
Ammo: anti-tank, cluster (anti-infantry 1mi or less), shrapnel air burst
Weight: 5,110 lbs
Accuracy: Within 9 yards first shot
Recoil: 12.6"
RPM: 11 shots per minute for the 1st 15 minutes, 7 shots per minute sustained.
Muzzle velocity: 2000 feet per second
Features: direct fire, shielded, quick breach cooling system, minimal muzzle flash thanks to barrel porting and custom designed muzzle break, 2 front wheels, 1 rear retractable wheel for short distance movement, laser range-finders, heat signature reader, night vision scopes. At the moment, this is one of few self-propelled artillery pieces the RAE produces.
COST: $1,000,000 USD
