The Introduction of the Constitutional Monarchy of Loudain
The capitol city of Berzhov was in a very frantic state of mind as everyone prepared for the gala that was about to take place. The winter snow had already begun to lay sheets of blissful white powder upon the streets, encouraging children to engage in snowball fights and peg adults as they walked by. Wolvenshowzen Center, the economic center of the capitol and nation roughly, had opened up its large outdoor ice rink to be used by the populace. People laughed and couples walked close together to share body heat and intimacy. Police dressed in elegant yet efficient black uniforms patrol the streets with smiles and long overcoats, tipping their hats when they pass awe struck children. Many parents are even taking their children to the Wolvenshowzen Center to see the special exhibit of the national animal, the Polar Bear. The large creatures meander around their exhibit with pearly white fur and occassionally let out a ferocious roar to prove their dominance, an action that sends children stepping back in mixed fear, shock, and interest.
Banners, posters, billboards, and other such advertisements are frequent. All of them share a common theme. One such billboard says, "On our Nation's most glorious day...ride in the most luxurious car," followed by a picture of the new model of a sports car. Other posters are decked in the nation's colors with the face of the current monarch on it and the founding dates below his profile. But what day is this day?
Why it is Revolution Day, marking the annual celebration of the country's birth and the victory of the Hasek Royal Family's army over tyrannical colonizers. It was on this very day that the Royalist forces marched upon the outskirts of the city after marching all night through a blizzard. A day that Albert Hasek, then a nationalist movement leader, shouted the words, "Let us ride in as rebels and sleep tonight as patriots." The battle outside Berzhov lasted a brutal two days before the city gave in and street fighting began with colonial forces. The battle did not end until twelve days after the initial arrival at Berzhov. Albert had the colonial government deemed illegal and executed publicly. He spared the women and children however and sent them home along with the sole surviving male, the Governor. Loudain was a free nation.
The following Winter Conference created the government and by a near unanimous plebicite vote placed King Albert Hasek upon the throne as King Albert, placing his family as the Royal Family of Loudain. Thus for twelve days, children get a present a day, and on the final day (Royal Day) they place a white rose on their windowsill in remembrance of those lost.
But at the royal palace, The Winter Palace, the scene is much different. Servants, workers, and other such occupations are preparing the palace for the event and preparing rooms throughout the palace to be occupied by international dignitaries and leaders. They place white roses throughout the palace and prepare food for the night's feast. Food and drink are brought in almost continuously to feed the audience of the evening.
King Alexander I, current reigning monarch, is just now entering the hunting parlor from outside with his two sons, Prince Phillip (26) and Prince Leopold (23). The three men set down their rifles and prepare to get out of their hunting clothing and change into their royal attire for the evening. Upstairs, Queen Anne is helping her two daughters, Princess Isabelle (24) and Princess Charlotte (20) prepare themselves for the night. The Royal Family of course anxious since all four children are un-married, and both parents anticipating tonight for them to meet a signifigant other...preferably of noble or royal blood.
The Royal Guards patrol the grounds and palace in their elegant uniforms of navy blue with black knee-high boots. Some patrol with domesticated wolves (a rarity Loudain prides itself on) and check all incoming vehicles.
And as everyone starts to arrive it seems tonight may be a good night indeed.
(OOC: This is an intro post for my OOC-wise young nation. I tried to avoid too much textbook info in this post, opting for this OOC note to describe what RPers should expect if they decide to participate in this. All MT nations are invited within reason. IE, a rabid communist would probably not fit in well here. Nations may send either their leaders, preferred, or simply dignitaries/ambassadors. Think Victorian-era Britain as far as pomp & circumstance of it all. Soviet-era military so the guards have AK-47's. The goal of this post is to be the first of a few that will establish Loudain as a bonafied nation and perhaps pull some diplomatic contacts, economic partnerships, and defense contracts from it all. Also those interested in pursuing the storyline of the three un-married royals are free to do so as well. Have fun!)

*very nice begining to a thread*
my nation is FT nation but we hold dear the principles of MT, are we allowed to venture to Loudain?
(As long as they're not landing on the palace in a space-ship, of course lol. Just keep it low-key and close to MT. Also,if anyone wishes to participate, I'd appreciate no 4 line posts. No asking for a book, but some effort and creativity.)

The Aequatian Republic would like to welcome the Constitutional Monarchy of Loudain to the international community and would be willing to send an envoy to your nation to initiate diplomatic relations. As of this moment, the closest Aequatian Republic Navy vessel is the Pocket Battleship, RNS Repulse, its commanding officer, Rear Admiral Joseph Nixon, would be more than suitable to act as our nation's envoy. Pending your government's permission, we can have the vessel change course to your nation and order Rear Admiral Nixon to fulfill diplomatic duties.

This is most excellent news, we shall have the vessel divert course immediately and it will make full steam to your nation.
We hope this is the beginning of a long relationship between our great nations.
--------
Rear Admiral Nixon was reading within the ship's library when a young ensign approached with the message sent from Maritime Central Command to change course, he looked closely at the name of the nation they were to visit, "Laou....din? Christ, I should be able to pronounce it before I visit it."
"I'm sure it won't be a problem, Sir, we still have a number of hours before we arrive," replied the ensign.
"Well then, let's be ready to put on a show for these people, this is probably the largest warship this country has ever seen," said Nixon, "Now get out of here, I'm trying to finish this book."
The ensign saluted, "Aye, Sir."
Peter was sweating bullets to some extent. He had work up to his ears at the Foreign Ministry's office, a large romanesque styled building in the Steinhurst Quarter, where majority of government buildings in the capitol were located. His supervisor, Edward Wick, was Minister of Foreign Affairs but had been out the entire day to meetings with the King. In such a case, Peter was busy coordinating numerous affairs involving incoming foreign diplomats. He had shed his suit blazer and was busy in his office trying to inform the Port Authority of the incoming Aequatian Battleship.
The procedure was simple...the Battleship would be able to buy supplies in port, protection given while in dock, and local authorities were notified to allow sailors to have a good time in town but not too much of a good time. They were informed that arrested sailors were to be sent back to the ship and signed over to the Aequatians and inform them that arrested and returned sailors were not allowed back into town for 24 hours.
Transportation was also being prepared for incoming diplomats. Berzhov International Airport had been busy all night fighting ice and snow to ensure safe arrivals and departures. Some would arrive by train and some by plane, depending on where they arrived.
Incoming diplomats who researched the nation would find some basic info such as...
- The nation's economy was booming and regarded as one of the best Resort locales.
- The official language was English.
- The name was pronounced Loo-dane.
- Small but growing population.
- Impressive private sector that works hand-in-hand with the government.
And as the RNS Repulse arrived into Loudainian waters, they'd be hailed by communications to drop speed and prepare to be escorted in. Several small craft soon approaching with crews saluting and informing the Battleship that they'd be escorted into one of the docks with tug service. As the Battleship came within sight of the shoreline, awe struck citizens waved and personal craft blew fog horns in welcome. Once the large ship had been dock securely and safely, a black Rolls Royce was waiting by the gangway. Several men in uniforms and two in civilian business suits approached the ship up the gangway, the lead gentleman in his formal dress uniform speaking first.
"I am Major Klein of the Royal Guards. I am here to escort Rear Admiral Joseph Nixon and his entourage to the nearby airport and then to the Winter Palace."
Meanwhile Peter replied to another diplomatic communique.

OOC-I wish to participate in this, I guess. My Megas Doux is looking for a wife, so a marriage between him and one of the Princesses of Loudain could be arranged. I wish to have a good storyline for myself, also nice introduction.
The Caesar of Japan heard of the Loudain Introduction. He decided to arrange diplomatic relations with this Loudain nation, he wanted to welcome it to the world stage.
The Caesar wrote a letter to the King of Loudain, inquiring about the evening ball....
''To King Alexander of Loudain,
From Caesar Thomas of the Byzantines
Greetings to you, King Alexander. I, Caesar Thomas welcome you to the world stage. I would like to inquire about the ball you have prepared for the evening. I would like to have my son, Prince Marcion attend if able to. Also, the Megas Doux might want to attend. I will see who in my family and if the Megas Doux wishes to attend. Anyway, welcome!
Sincerly In Respectful Greetings,
Caesar Thomas''
Thomas went around, seeing who wanted to go to Loudain. Three people were able to: Prince Marcion, Princess Helena and the Megas Doux.
Thomas sent another letter to the King:
''Alexander, two of my children, Marcion and Helena and the Megas Doux will attend your evening ball. They look forward to it and hope to have an excellent time. May the Trinity be with you.''
Marcion and Helena prepared themselves for the ball as did the Megas Doux.
OOC-If I can join in the evening ball, tell me when I can send my characters.
The Emperor glanced at his computer screen, noticing yet another nation had unveiled itself to the international community. He immediately ordered an aide in, and asked them to prepare a letter to the government of Loudain.
Official Imperial Communique
To the nation of Loudain
The Democratic Empire of Cravan wishes to welcome your nation to the international community, and I humbly request that diplomatic relations be opened between us. Upon confirmation of this message, I will send an ambassador to meet with you and discuss affairs between our governments. I hope that our nations can grow together, and come to political agreements to benefit both of us. I look forward to your response.
Emperor Craven I
"Your Majesty...two letters have arrived for you."
King Alexander turned with a military academy kick to his step. He took the two letters opened them in order, blue eyes skimming over before nodding and handing them back. He had to admit to himself, he was unsure what exactly a Megas Doux was.
"Please inform my aide de camp to enter."
Once the military secretary to the King had entered the room, he went to a table to take down a letter that was to be sent electronically back to Caeser Thomas. Once finished with it all, the aide de camp went off to send it off.
Meanwhile, Peter Kerensky replied to the Democratic Empire of Cravan's communique. Within minutes, both replies were sent off with haste.

Your delegation shall be warmly welcomed to this prestigious event. They can arrive at the Berzhov International Airport if they like, with a detachment of my Royal Guards being sent to escort them to the Winter Palace where they may enjoy their stay.

OOC-Megas Doux means Grand Duke. Lucas Notaras was the last Megas Doux of Byzantium before the Ottomans conquered them.
Thomas read the letter and told the three of it. They got onto a plane with the Byzantine Two Headed Eagle on it and they went off to the nation of Loudain.
Marcion (not to be confused with Marcion of Sinope) was one of Thomas' sons. He was dressed in formal Imperial attire, a black suit with gold, it looked Royal.
Helena was dressed in a Byzantine dress, from the 1500's or later. She had a Three Bar Cross necklace around her neck and her dress was of the purple (a Byzantine color).
The Megas Doux was dressed in a purple suit with a icon of the Theotokos around his neck. He hoped to see if any suitors for him could be at the ball but he focused on having a good time more.
When the plane landed, the Megas Doux came out first, followed by Marcion and Helena. ''What a nice nation, a winter wonderland.'' the Megas Doux said in Byzantine Greek. ''If I was a child, I could make snow angels.'' Helena stated. ''Loudain is a well kept nation, its palace named after the one of the Tzars of Russia.'' Marcion remarked.
When they saw the Loudain Royal Guards, they stood in respect, the Megas Doux ready to greet them.

Robert Nielson sat in his plush leather seat as he felt a violent rumbling. He fastened his seat belt, and continued to read an article on Loudainian (spelling?) customs, as to better acquaint himself with the Loudainians on his arrival.
He glanced out the window, and watched as the private jet lifted off from Cravna International Airport. He watched as the lines of the runway rolled past his eyes at blinding speeds. He was excited to be assigned to this diplomatic visit, and eagerly awaited meeting with the Loudainian government.
He glanced over at his aides, all of whom were trying to sleep on the flight over. He chuckled, and turned his attention back out the window as the aircraft ascended into the sky, passing through white clouds. Two F-80 Phoenix fighters came up to escort the jet in for ceremonial purposes.
He looked back at his papers and files, and realised it was useless to read any more. He put his chair into a reclining position, and tried to get some sleep.
Elyria-Lorain

She had no sooner hung up the phone with the Prince, when her secretary knocked. " M'lady, I know you just had me send word to Emerald Springs, but there is another nation seeking ties to established nations that I think you'd be interested in."
"And who would that be, Jan?"
" A country named Loudain. Doesn't seem like the usual, run-of-the-mill emerging nation. Articulate, civilised, organized. Seems like a good match for us."
Priscilla looked over the report. She nodded.
" Very well, Jan, contact Loudain's leadership with the usual format."
" Yes, m'Lady."
And now, she thought, I can get out of here and go for that ride to the Farm. Priscilla d'Avignon-Elyrie, Duchess of the Grand Duchy of Elyria-Lorain, was about to have a very good day....
"A winter wonderland indeed," said the approaching man in a business suit, long overcoat, leather gloves, and a scarf. He offered the Byzantine Delegates a smile and polite bow.
"I am Henry Presser, one of his Majesty's diplomatic aids. Lucky for you, I also hold a doctorate in Loudainian history and geography. A regular tourist guide if you will. I do hope your trip was nice."
A black Rolls Royce limo pulled up with a military jeep behind it.
"Please, let us be on our way and out of this winter weather."
Once all were inside, the limo left with the convoy towards the Winter Palace.
"Should any of you enjoy recreational activities, I assure you we have some of the world's best Ski resorts and Casinos here."
The ride would be quite nice, making sure to take them through the best sites of Berzhov. And soon they would come upon the magnificent Winter Palace itself. Once outside and parked, Henry helped them get situated.
"Mr. Jennings will show you to your rooms. Please enjoy your stay, make yourselves at home and prepare for the gala tonight. Feel free to roam the West Wing for visiting residents. I suggest you even stop by into the Conservatory, Queen Anne prides herself upon her gardenias and white roses."
------------------------------------------------------------------
At Berzhov International Airport, tarmac workers waved the Cravan plane in. A limo and two military escort vehicles were waiting. One of the men was dressed in a business suit looking trim but bundled up for the weather. He was the first to advance upon the Cravan diplomat with an extended hand.
"Robert Nielson I presume. I am James Renard, I work at the Foreign Ministry. I am here of course to escort you to the Winter Palace, unless you'd prefer to stay in one of the five-star Resort hotels in the capitol city."
---------------------------------------------------------------------
[Unsure what "usual format" is, so sort of just flowing with this one.]
Peter's office took yet another communique from another nation. It was attended to and a prompt reply was sent back to the Grand Duchy of Elyria-Lorain.
To: Grand Duchy of Elyria-Lorain
From: Peter Kerensky, Vice-Minister of Foreign Affairs

Revolution Greetings from your Comrades in Kayikistan. We will sent a diplomatic delegation to set up an Embassy in Loudain and bearing gifts for King Alexander I. Also aircraft Carrier May 1 commanded by Admiral Rudolk Kritiv will come port as part of the delegations.
We look further into expanding the economic and diplomatic relations between our nations.
Peter Kerensky was unsure how to respond to such a message. Comrades? He sighed some and placed a direct call to Edward Wick, Minister of Foreign Affairs...
"Wick here."
"Sir, I recieved a communique from what I can only discern as a leftist revolutionary nation." Peter attempted his polite way of saying 'I smell communists.'
"Oh? Well what does it say?"
"That they are sending gifts and a delegation to establish an embassy via an aircraft carrier."
"Well we don't want something like that happening now do we hm?"
"No sir."
"Be cordial Peter, but make it known we do not deal with marxists, maoists, leninists, or communists."
"Yes sir..."
Thus, Peter began drafting a response to the nation of Kayikistan.

While the gesture of goodwill is appreciated, it is advised that the delegation from Kayikistan do not come to Loudain. An establishment of relations in such haste with a nation of such unique ideologies and policies as Kayikistan go against the set Foreign Policy of Loudain as established by His Majesty King Alexander I, Prime Minister Wesley, and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

"It is quite excellent that you all are attending this event tonight. The King is eager to meet his guests who have arrived. Plus you get to see this city when it is most beautiful."
Major Klein spoke as he escorted the group to the cars and they soon left the docks in a convoy, passing through several military checkpoints and then taking the relatively short trip to the nearby airstrip where a leased corporate jet awaited for them. Once onboard, the jet took off admist some moderate turbulence. The plane's engines fighting the snow and weather before climbing above the climate's mess and cruising safely to the nearby Berzhov International Airport. From there, the convoy would of course head directly to the Winter Palace.
------------------------------------------------------------
The Bekhaeran delegation would of course be greeted by several Royal Guards and a sharp looking uniformed man with a smile and polite bow offered when they got closer.
"I am Allan Fox, Aide de Camp to his Majesty King Alexander I. I do not mean to cut formalities and introductions short, but the weather is getting colder and we have plenty of time for formalities tonight. If you will, follow me."
He turned on his heel and moved to the awaiting luxury cars with military vehicles flanking them. Once all had entered, they be driving towards the capitol of Berzhov and more specifically, the Winter Palace itself.

''Greetings.'' Marcion said to the approaching man. ''I am Prince Marcion, and this is Princess Helena and the Megas Doux.'' Marcion stated. They were prepared for the winter, wearing Byzantine winter outfits. They went into the Rolls Royce and were looking at the city as they drove past it.
They nodded and Marcion went to Mr. Jennings. ''You must be Mr. Jennings. May you show us to our rooms if you may?'' Marcion said politely. The Megas Doux remarked ''I will like it here, I am sure.'' Helena was also posistive about everything.
It seemed the Byzantines would have a nice time in Loudain.
At Berzhov International Airport, tarmac workers waved the Cravan plane in. A limo and two military escort vehicles were waiting. One of the men was dressed in a business suit looking trim but bundled up for the weather. He was the first to advance upon the Cravan diplomat with an extended hand.

"It would be most excellent to go to the Winter Palace. Just allow me to gather my staff and we will be away."
His diplomatic staff began to disembark from the plane, along with four men in business suits similiar to the diplomatic staff. Anyone could see how uncomfortable, since they were used to combat gear. They were the Imperial Guard.

Priscilla sat comfortably in a plush seat aboard her Lear jet. As she gazed out the window, she noted with approval the rolling hills and farmlands of Loudain. 'A pretty country', she thought.
Across from her, her secretary, Jan, was busy studying the demographics of Loudain. Typical Jan......ready for any eventuality.
Also with the Duchess were three of her personal bodyguards, armed, as usual, to the teeth in full battle dress.
Priscilla and Jan were dressed to the nines, body-clinging gowns slit in the appropriate places, hair coiffed, jewels hanging at ear, wrist, and neck. They appeared quite the pair.
Jan was a striking blonde, five foot eight inches of bombshell. Eyes more lavendar than blue, more of an athletic build than voluptuous.
Priscilla, however, was another story. Raven hair hung just past her shoulders, startlingly green eyes......and built like a brick shithouse. Several marriage proposals had come her way over the years, but she had refused them all. There was one man she was interested in, but he apparently didn't have a clue. ' Men', she thought, ' essentially polygamous little boys'.
As the jet circled and landed, she stood up, smoothed her gown, checked her image in a mirror. Turning to the guards, she said, " OK, gentlemen, shall we?" As she and Jan exited the jet, followed by the guards, a long black limo pulled up and the driver hurried around to the door, opening it with a small bow.
Priscilla gave an appreciative nod to the man, and climbed into the car.......
By now all the respective parties were either arriving at the Winter Palace or already settled in. And soon enough...the party was beginning...
The grand ballroom was the scene of it all. Huge crystal chandeliers hung from the ceiling offering glittering light. The marble floor was covered with circular tables except for the dance floor which was posititioned infront of the Berzhov Symphony-Orchestra. Laughter, talking, and smiles ran rampant throughout the room. The dialects of the nation were very unique with the urban elite talking in refined british and the large cattle ranch and plantation owners of the rural areas talking in slow southern drawls of dignity and grace. There was another table in the large room as well with an amazing spread of meats, vegetables, fruits, cheeses, bread, desserts, hors d'ourves, dishes, and drinks. Four bartenders were working quickly with orders while servants moved about with trays of filled champagne flutes and hors d'ourves.
The Symphony-Orchestra played gentle and melodic string pieces such as Beethoven's piece, "Violin Romance."
The group of foreign delegates who had come each had a personal assistant from the Foreign Ministry who was to introduce them to people and ensure they had a pleasant time. The attire of the evening was elegant to say the least. The women dressed in amazing dresses and the men were either trimmed in their finest suits or uniforms.
Cast of Characters
[OOC: Just some NPC's people might meet at the event. Thought this would add some more flavor to it all]
Richard Engels - Richard Engels is Loudain's resident playboy so-to-speak. His family made their massive fortunes in the automobile industry and no Richard rarely practices business. Instead he enjoys the nightlife of Berzhov and traveling. Interesting fact is that his great-grandfather was one of the leading architects who designed the Wolvenshowzen Center.
Mark and Kristina Viznikov, Baron and Baroness - It's hard not to spot this noble couple at any event. Kristina is usually sporting her newest assortment of diamonds with Mark proudly explaining his most recent adventure or baiting people into debates on politics. Mark Viznikov's ancestry goes back to Loudain's founding and his family has always been close supporters of the Hasek family. However to maintain an income, the Viznikovs managed to use their vast estate and create one of Loudain's most famous Resort-Casinos.
Prime Minister Adam Wesley - Adam Wesley is the Prime Minister of Loudain. The rhetoric filled leader of the Royalist Party, he has been considered a politician extraordinaire by all parties after he negotiated a coalition with the leftist Reformist Party to pass legislation that created compulsory ID cards for all citizens.
Eugene Drexler - Wesley's counter-part in Parliament, Drexler is the head of the Reformist Party. If Drexler is sweating bullets, it is because his party has just finished losing a series of fights against the Royalist Party and some say it is Drexler's fault.
Samuel Nordstrom - The leader of the Liberal-Republican party which is roughly center-right on the political and ideology spectrum. The smallest party in Parliament but essential for coalitions and legislation to be passed.
Thomas Pickney - The large and boisterous man in the room is more than likely Thomas Pickney. Head of the Nationalist Front Party, center on the ideology spectrum, he has seen an increase in attention and voters with his populist-fueled speeches.
Bernard Svetslana, Nicholas Petrov, John Rourke, Charles Leshkov AKA "The Big Four" - In Loudainian Economic and Energy policies, these names come up the most. The four men through their collective companies are the four horsemen who run the Wolvenshowzen Center. Whether it be manufacturing, energy resources, gambling, or military contracts the Big Four are the four men who have managed to gain control of nearly all of it.
Field Marshal Brommel - The man with the handlebar mustache, red uniform, white gloves, highly decorated uniform? That would be the Field Marshal Brommel, head of the Loudainian Army. A shrewd man, Field Marshal Brommel has been the guiding hand of recent budget changes to open up more money for the military.
---------------------------------------------------------------
After some time for mingling had passed, people began entering the main foyer (large enough to accomodate everyone in the grand ballroom of course) where there was the Grand Staircase. The Symphony-Orchestra struck up the appropriate march for the King to enter upon.
"Ladies and Gentlemen. I present...His and Her Majesty King Alexander I and Queen Anne. I also present their highnesses, Prince Phillip, Prince Leopold, Princess Isabelle, and Princess Charlotte. Long live his majesty the King!"
The crowd errupted in a single shout of "Long live the king!" with glasses raised. The crowd then hushed as the Royal Family appeared and began to move down the grand staircase. Every single one of them looked very dignified and knew how to perform at a state dinner such as this. The men wore their royal uniforms with decorations and of course ceremonial sabres. The women wore elegant dresses with diamond tiaras.
The Hasek Royal Family then moved into the Grand Ballroom with everyone else and sat down at their table. Once they had sat down, everyone else followed. Then some tradition began. The Foreign Ministry Assistant at each of the delegates' tables leaned to whisper a "Some tradition to celebrate the event."
King Alexander I stood stoicly and waited. A few minutes of silence passed before a very young girl of about ten in a white dress walked up to the King holding a candle. The girl was the King's niece. When she approached him, he took an already lit candle and lit hers. The girl smiled and walked off to one of the french windows of the ballroom and lit another candle there. The crowd clapped softly.
"To signify the homes that lit candles in their windows showing their support for the patriots," said the Foreign Ministry assistants.
It was then that the King finally sat down and fireworks began to explode outside in a marvellous display of colors. The crowd clapped again with a smiles and the event moved from tradition into having a good time.

Marcion, Helena and the Megas Doux watched the starting of the gala, Helena saying to the others how adorable the King's niece was. They walked around, hoping to interact with the figures of Loudain. ''This is a beautiful palace.'' Helena remarked. ''I concur with you, Princess. Surely it was built by architects of the elite. I know Hagia Sophia in the City was built by superb architects.'' the Megas Doux said.
They then split up, hoping to have their own experiences in the gala. The Megas Doux thought of trying to talk to the King but thought his guards would forbid it. However, he carefully walked to the King and bowed respectfully. ''Greetings, Your Majesty. I am the Megas Doux of Byzantine Japan. It is a honor and a pleasure to meet the King of Loudain.'' The Megas Doux said, bowing again.
Meanwhile, Marcion and Helena continued walking, trying to see if there was anyone to interact with.
OOC-Perhaps some of your people could interact with mine, I would like my nation's people to know yours better.
King Alexander I was sipping a glass of port wine while speaking softly with a few people around him. Prime Minister Wesley and John Rourke were two of the men in the group. The King's eyes glanced to the Megas Doux when he approached.
"And I as well am honored to meet the Megas Doux of Byzantine Japan."
The King gave a nod of his head to the man before continuing, "I am glad that a delegation from your nation could attend tonight. I couldn't help but notice your admiration of the architecture. You know the Hasek Family did not always reside in this palace? King Albert lived in a small compound in downtown Berzhov when he took the throne. My great-grandfather, King Leopold I actually initiated the building of this palace. He wanted a Versailles-esque palace that would blend well with the climate and land. But where are my manners? This is my Prime Minister Adam Wesley and CEO of Rourke Energy, John Rourke."
The two men nodded as they were introduced.
"We were just discussing the item of colonization. I'd be interested to hear your views on it sir."
The King finished his words with a sip of port.

Meanwhile as Helena and Marcion moved about the ballroom, they gained both attention and intruige. Richard Engels was one of those who approached the two, feasting his eyes on the lovely Helena and offering her a charming smile as he approached with two champagne flutes.
"Tsk tsk...where has the world gone when a gorgeous lady of obvious class and character is not offered a drink? I am Richard Engels."
And as for Marcion? Well he was quickly wrangled by Minister Edward Wick of Foreign Affairs who gave a bow when he approached.
"Your highness it is indeed a pleasure to see you here. I was duly excited when my Vice-Minister informed me you'd be attending tonight. I am Edward Wick, Minister of Foreign Affairs. I hope you're enjoying the event tonight yes? You know when I was a young man, my father served as Vice-Minister of Commerce and I remember this night as one of the highlights of being a child and being able to stay up late. Though I am more interested in the state of things in Byzantine Japan..."

ooc: is it too late to join in?
ic: the Empress Fujiko looked over the information given to her by her private secretary.
"Loudain is certainly patriotic" she says "and they seem like a good match for us. Send them a message back to King Alexander saying we'd be interested in diplomatic relations and if they agree to a visit i'll go myself. my sister is otherwise engaged and my brother is back at the military college."
the telegram was sent to Loudain and the Empress looked over the rest of her paperwork while she waited for a reply.

princess Amide, dresses in her finest clothing waltzed around the ballroom with one of the many gentlemen there, she looked bored and longed for conversation, with anyone at least especially the Loudain royal household
She sat down alongside the Bekhaeran delegation, who were captivated by the music they heard, it had been years since this music had been played in Bekhera, music there had taken a turn for the worse with few peope taking up the arts
"Amelie" whispered Leon under his breath, "how I miss you..."
Leon looked at Watersonne who gave hima reassuring smile to calm his fears, it had been years since he last saw his wife, she had returned home to Loudain to give birth to their child... and he never saw Amelie again...
"This music, It reminds me of my father..." said Watersonne to a represntative of Loudain "It;' beautiful. I could see myself retiring here if fate ever had its own way"
The Cravanian delegation mingled with those at the ball, having a good time and drinking all the alcohol their stomachs could take. Meanwhile, the Imperial Guard stood relaxed, but always on the watch.
OOC- I'm afraid I don't have time for a longer post, now. I've got a few other RPs and other things running. Expect a longer post tomorrow.

''Colonization can be at times troublesome and at times bountiful. My nation does have colonies, I think. It is nice to meet all of you also. Are you discussing Loudain having colonies?'' the Megas Doux asked. He wanted to learn all about Loudain and its figures.
''Nice to meet you, Mr. Engels.'' Helena said, blushing a little from his compliment. ''I hope to have a good time in this ball. Do you know if I could meet the Royal Family of Loudain? I see the Megas Doux is with the King but can I meet the Queen or the Princes or Princesses?'' Helena said.
''A child sees more in political families, I suppose.'' Marcion said. ''I am Prince Marcion, thanks for your welcome. I am fully enjoying tonight's event and I hope to meet the Royal Family, to have conversations between two Royal Families. I do value conversations with everyone here too. What things about my nation would you like to hear?'' Marcion said.

Princess Amide wnet outside of the ballroom and onto an outside balcony over looking Berzhov, she sighed as she looked up to the heavens, somewhere her father was out there rectifying the upheaval which now threatened her people
she shivered as the snow came down form the sky, she found it beautiful. it had been years since she last saw snow, she used to ed and role as princess
"its so cold" she said realising she had no coat on
a voice then spoke from behind her and placed a fur coat on her
"please do not eb cold, it would make me sad to know such a delicate flower would be frozen by my country's most beautiful thing, perhaps it is jealous no?"
As the event lavished on, Peter Kerensky was chugging coffee as if he was re-living his old Fraternity days. He was busy at the Foreign Ministry assuring everything went well and answering constant communiques. He was also trying to handle an issue with the Aequatian ship. It seemed a few sailors had gotten drunk and carried an old man four blocks on their shoulders singing typical songs sailors chant. Peter smiled and laughed when he heard about it...he had done some things such as that in his days as a Midshipman. Other than that, everything was going well. Peter merely compensated the old man with an apology and sent an escort to assure he would get home and not on the shoulders of sailors. He understood the stress of being on a ship and the need for playful fun now-and-then to vent such stress. His eyes however caught the message from Kirisubo...hmm...an asiatic nation it seemed.

Colonel Wattersonne's comment garnered a smile from the Loudainian representative.
"Yes it is quite nice. Though I assure we have our fair share of noise pollution. The youth in the urban clubs enjoy a much different tune."
The representative laughed before continuing.
"Retire here hm? Well colonel, should you ever decide to do so I am sure we can try to get you the least brutal real-estate agent."
The representative laughed again before taking a sip of wine. It seemed no matter where you went, real estate agents and used car dealers stayed the same.
And as for Princess Amide...well the voice that softly floated to her came from none other than Prince Leopold. He had a boyish smile and charm to him that showed in his blue eyes.
"I am Prince Leopold...and you are obviously one of the most gorgeous women at this function tonight."
He took her hand gently and pressed a soft kiss to it before returning it to her.

"It is my firm belief Megas Doux that it is the duty of any great civilized nation to extend itself to those who are uncivilized. For god and glory no less."
King Alexander I spoke with a truly charismatic aura to him. The other two men nodded as well in agreement.
"It sounds arrogant perhaps, but by the extension of knowledge and skills we can aid the uncivilized nations into becoming true nations where such atrocities, that are un-common to us but common to them, may be eliminated."
And not too far away, Richard Engels was offering a smile to Helena after he sipped his champagne.
"M'lady with my connections, you can meet anyone in this nation if you'd like. Follow me..."
He then offered an arm to escort her over to where Princess Charlotte, the youngest of the children, was at.
"Your Highness, might I introduce...," he left the rest for Helena to fill in considering he realized in his haste he had not even inquired for her name or title.
Meanwhile, Edward Wick was nibling on a cracker with caviar on it and speaking with Marcion.
"Well I am quite interested in Byzantine Japan's general Foreign Policy."

Amide looked stunned by Leopold's kiss but she felt like it was right, she smiled at him, "you move fast do you not" she said gazing at him "but I'll allow it" she laughed
the two then entered the ballroom once more and to the sound of one of the classic Loudain symphonies Amide had heard during the voyage here, te entire florr was filled with couples and Leon looked on at the happy couples,"please excuse me your heighness" he said as he left hisseat and ventured out of the ballroom, Watersonne soon asked to be excused.
one of his oldest friends and his apprentice Leon had never been the same since Anmelei vanished, Leon had a daughter safe at home in Bekhaera but there was always that piece missing, he looked over at the partially frozen lake he saw before him and began crying
Watersonne saw him and knew that it was a mistake letting Leon come, "I knew it was a mistake letting you come here, look what it's doing to you, I want to find her as much as you but please... dont destroy yourself"
Leon clutched the memento of Amelie tightly, then a Loudain offcial dressed in livery similar to that of the royal household but different approached the pair and he saw Leon and saw the loss in his eyes

''My nation's foreign policy is neutrality in wars and a diplomacy first plan. This means that we value the pen at first, then the sword. I suppose this could do. Anywho, we have an all around policy, we try to shape it in our nation's interests.'' Marcion said.

as planned two days later the Imperial Boeing 737 took off from Edo international airport, the kirisuban flag fluttering from a mast just above the cockpit.
On board was the Empress Fujiko, her private secretary and four of her best female samurai bodyguards. they all wore red kimonos with compact pistols concealed in their belt sashes as well as wearing a katana and a wakizashi.
The Empress slept on the journey to Loudain as her secretary went over the basic agenda. working for her when she was the Crown Princess had been hard enough but now she was keeping Yoko even busier.
in a few hours they would arrive and she hoped it would go smoothly.

Leon and Watresonne saw the official and sharply arose
"is there a problem here gentlemen" asked the Loudain official
"No...no there's no problem here" sighed Leon, he and Watersonne returned to the ballroom and the sound of Loudain classical orchestra washed over the two of them as they soaked in the atmosphere, it was good seeing Leon smile again thought Watersonne to himself
he sat in his seat once more and he and the king began to ask questions, he turned to the king and said
"so..these estate agents...cant be as bad as a pit of snakes im guessing haha"
the talk soon began to turn to more political things wth Leon becoming involved, this was the inner passion in Leon which saw him become one of the most powerful men in all of Bekhaera
"i see there are no represantatives of any commnuist or sociliast governments here..any reason" asked Leon

the Imperial 737 circled at at Berzhov International airport as they waited for permission to land.
the Empress was now ready, Yuko tying up her red belt sash behind her and smoothing out her dark blue kimono.
Yuko was already dressed in her own pale blue kimono.
Her bodyguards were also ready checking their loaded Glock 17 pistols with safety catches on before concealing them again. they took their duty very seriously their twin swords being live blades.
"everything will be fine your majesty" Yuko tells her Empress..
King Alexander I quirked a brow at Leon's words.
"Reason? Why would a socialist or communist party even start in Loudain? Our people are happy, our economy prosperous. Everyone makes a decent living and lives a decent life. Besides...socialism and communism are weeds that infiltrate the garden of order."

Leon noted that every nation no matter how propserous or utopian it can be will have people out there wishing to cause problems, as was the way of the world
"i do no mean to offend but would it have hurt to ahve accepted them into your nation with arms to show the better nation" replied Leon..he wasnt winning friends over but his detremination was plain to se, he loved asking questions and when he was liwek thsi he loved answering them
Wateesonne chuckled to himself and took a sip of wine from his glass, a fine red wine, his countrymens wine was the finest in his eyes but this ran a close second
"Would it have hurt? No. But does it hurt when you breath in after someone with the flu has just coughed? If we open the door to revolutionaries who use rhetoric to hypnotize their slaves, then we open the door to a revolution. And that is something that will not happen. Socialists and Communists do have representation mind you...in the Prison Populations."
The King smirked and sipped from his own wine. He was more liberal than his father in political reforms, but he was very much anti-far left.

"I once again do not mean to be offensive but are ALL communists and or any socialists in your prisons merely peaceful?" Leon wouldnt give in, back in his head he thought "I'll be with those poor unfortunate souls tonight maybe..."
Watersonne by now had finished a bottle to himself and it had only slightly affected him
The dancing continued and Leopold and Amide seemed to be growing closer, they then sat beside one another on the table alongside the Loudain and Bekherans
Maybe this would lead to soemthing more?

Consul A. Commodus Disius boarded his private jet with several bodyguards and a priest which, oddly enough, blessed all of the Consul's flights. As the Consul sat in one of the leather chairs on board the jet, one of the servants poured a dark red wine into a crystal glass.
The Consul, in his earlier days, was never a big fan of flying. As the years went by, he had become accustomed to it. Now he simply rested his head on the leather headrest, drank the cool, sweet wine, and relaxed.
Commodus heard the engines kick on and within moments he felt the plane begin to move. Soon enough he felt the plane jolt upward, he was in the air
