As many children during the War of Liberation, Caguama was orphaned. She was put in the care of the Manati' tribal bohiti (shaman) while the war was being fought. She grew up with them in the safety of Ohuican Chaneque Cu' (Sacred Rainforest of the Forest Guardians) where she learned how to speak, hunt, and create medicines to help the soldiers. After the war, she went with the soldier/new ruler Eduardo to learn English and find a husband as was the quest given to her by the bohiti. Her name means "Great Sea Turtle" because of a sick giant sea turtle that she had found and nursed back to health. On her back is a tatoo of the legendary sea guardian, Caguama. She is very connect to nature and very kindhearted, but has the soul of a brave warrior. She knows a little English, but enough to say some basic things.
