The year is 2010. Cuba is in turmoil. Fidel Castro has died a few years earlier and the nation has been torn apart by warfare. Communist, pro-democratic forces, and other factions are fighting for control of the island. The cities are under attack, rebels pillage and kill in the countryside. The whole of the island has become unsafe. The UN has stepped in to restore order and peace. It is in a desperate struggle to turn the tide in this conflict. The rebel factions are growing in power as the UN's presence is fading. The UN has been pushed back to Havana. Where the UN Headquarters are. What part will you play? Will you fight as a rebel faction to take this island? Or will you struggle to restore law and order under the flag of the UN. Or are you a hapless refugee just trying to survive?

Disaster in Cuba! For the past few months, UN Peacekeeping troops have been fighting a desperate struggle against powerful rebel factions. The UN's goal of bringing law and order to the troubled island is crumbling. The undermanned Un precense has been dealt a devastating blow just yesterday. UN Headquarters in havana sent out a convoy of troops and aide workers to the city of Santa Clara to try and assist in restoring order. There were over 1,000 UN troops and several hundred aide workers in the convoy. The convoy was within a few miles of the city when it was ambushed by as of now, and unknown rebel faction. The pitched battle lasted for over an hour and saw the UN forces wiped out. Most of the troops and aide workers were killed, wounded, or captured. As of now we do not have an exact report on casualties for both sides. This defeat has put the UN in a low position. The UN Headquarters in Cuba has become vulnerable to rebel forces. Only several hundred troops, guards, aide workers, and staff remain. Rescue attempts are still being formulated. When we recieve more on this, we'll pass it to you.

Chinese troops landed today at Matanzas. They are slowly heading in the direction of the UN Headquarters in Havana. Neglected roads and light rebel resisitance is making the going slow for the batalion. The batalion is traveling by Troop Crawler and a few Jeeps. The batalion itself is made up of infiantry and support personnel. There is between 200 and 250 soldiers in the convoy. The Chinese hold hostile intent twoards the UN Embassy, and the Chinese Delegate to the UN has gone missing. It is supected that the Republic of China has siezed power from the People's Republic of China, explaining the acts of agression twoards the UN Embassy earlier today.

UN Headquarters, Havana

The Un Headquarters was the base for all Un operations on the island. The compound had high walls and sand bags with guards. People from multiple nations were busy. Things have become tense due to rebel activities and the news of the attack just reached them. The Kulikovian section of th compound had over 120 troops and 250 workers and staff. Lt. Colonel Syzmanski paced back and forth. There were hardly any Kulikovian troops left in the compound. There were only about twenty left behind. The others left with the convoy, along with one hundred aide workers. Two jeeps appraoched the gate. They were Kulikovian jeeps, riddled with bullets and steaming. The gates opened and left them in. Syzmanski rushed to the motor pool to see what was happening. Captain Andropov, wounded in the arm stepped out, he saluted.
"My God! We feared that none were left!" Syzmanski said as he looked over Abdropov and the seven others he brought.
"Sir, we were cut to pieces. The rebels overwhelmed us. We barely got out alive. The convoy was cut in two. We're all that's left of the Kulikovian contingent of the convoy. Five of these men are aide workers. Sir-the rebels are on their way here. They are highly disciplined and well-armed." Andropov replied, holding his arm.
"Glad to see some made it back. Medic!" Syzmanski called out and the battered group tended to their eounds.

Unknown Position, 35 miles outside of Havana

The forest grew thicker at this point, tropical trees dense and obstructing the view of the casual-or trained-observer. Not even the camoflauged jeep, machine gun mounting portruding from the back, was really visible, yet it was the primary means of defense of the meeting of the main leaders of the Muertos Negros, the Black Dead, in English-the group that had insidiously struck and ravaged the UN convoy with split-second speed and precision that had brought the peacekeeping force to their knees. The warriors were ready. The time to strike the weak government was now.
At the center of the crude base camp was a fairly ordinary looking man, maybe 6'5", medium Hispanic skin, black hair, very bulked up, and an AK-47 slung across his back. This man, Guillermo Diaz, controlled the entire operative network of the thousands-strong group of savage rebels. He held no mercy, did not care for the weak. The strong survived in this world, and strong the UN was not. The poor fools had lost nearly the entire convoy, much more than Diaz had hoped, to only a light force of around a hundred men, toting RPGs and AK-47s. Right now he was seriously engulfed in his pride, striking the gringos right where it hurt. The video he was shooting would go a long way into striking fear, and simoultaneously, winning over some Cubans to the revolutionary group.

The light on the camera flicked on, and Diaz began his message.

"Hear me...we, the Muertos Negros, have struck the UN invaders who look to subjugate our lands of Santa Maria. They look to pen us Cubans in their enslaving system where the whites come first, where we of purity are put in lesser roles to serve idally! This will not be, nor will this be the last time you have heard from us, Gringos. You will pay for your invasion of our sacred lands with your blood. Your bodies will pile high in the streets, your children to grow up without fathers."

The cameras flicked off, Diaz feeling a little let down by the speech. He probaly could have made it better, but the point now was to infuriate the UN peacekeepers, get them knowing that they weren't wanted, that they would pay the price for every yard taken with blood.

"Leave this somewhere where the white men can get at it." Diaz told one of his subordinates.
"Si, el padre..." the young man walked off, swinging the tape into a bag he carried on his shoulder, off towards Havana where he'd lie low and unobtrusively lose the video near the UN embassy.

Lt. Colonel Syzmanski was on the phone for an hour with the Kulikovian Delegation to the UN. He argued that more troops are needed, that the siuation was hopeless, and possibly evacuation.

Meanwhile, the defenses of the compound were being built up. Soldiers and civilians from different countries worked together. They had to in order to survive. Andropov sat in the medical tent as the medic stitched up his arm. He took a machete glance to the left arm. Luckily he got the bastard.
"Ow-Watch it!" he shouted
"You're lucky that you'll be keepin' this arm, sir" the medic replied. Andropov took off his UN beret and wiped his brow. The humidity was unbearable.
"We had superior numbers and weapons. What happened? If it only weren't for the civilian workers. We were too busy protecting them. If it was one thousand Kulikovian troops, we could've easily over taken those damn rebels!"
"Yes sir, but I don't think they'll be coming for a while"
"Who?"

The Chinese batalion landed at Varadero in Matanzas early this morning. Jong Kim-Il, the acting commander in the landing party, surveyed the cleared landing zone as cargo transport ships streaned in, dropping off suplies and then heading out for more. It had been a tense voyage from the mainland, it was crucial that the U.S. not notice the Chinese Cargo ships and their destroyer escorts entering the caribbean. Varadero had been relativly calm and full of people when they arrived, but the current show of force had forced the population away from the docks. Troops were mobilizing and advanced scouts had already been dispatched. The batalion would move out soon. Hopefully the roads will be clear thought Kim-Il as he watched the last of the Cargo ships pushh off from the docks...

Overlooking the UN Embassy
As the young man continued walking down the streets, the camoflauged Hispanic man, armed with a bazooka, sat in a tree, facepaint smeared and leaves and foliage attached to his clothing and skin. He blended in perfectly to the tree lines, and had made careful check of the surrounding area to see that he was alone. It was good that this tree was here; it would cover the vapor trail from the bazooka round somewhat. The attack would go right after the youth dropped off the video; it would spurn some attention to the site by UN forces.
The rebel sat patiently, finally looking up as the teen slipped the tape out of his bag, glancing around, then dropping it nonchalantly on a vendor table next to a merchant who was unaware, arguing with a potential customer. This was part of the plan. Accompanying th rebel with the RPG was another with an advanced sniper, now getting a fix on the merchant, an additional surprise for the UN when they discovered what happened. The RPG user held his breath, and waited for it all to begin.
Still looking through his rocket scope, he saw a quick flash of red spattering through the merchant's neck, then blood began pouring through the man's burst catorid artery, a perfect sniper shot. Now was the time. Aiming directly at the nearby UN building gate, the rebel drew a fix on the two guards who hadn't yet noticed anything, then slammed the trigger, bracing his shoulder against the massive recoil of the weapon. A projectile shot forth, propelled by explosive energy as it screamed towards the gate, smashing into the structure in a fiery explosion. The tape would be left unharmed, and the two armed rebels, hoisting their weapons on their backs and taking out pistols, quickly slipped out of the trees and away, back behind covered lines of AK-47 toting rebels, scattered throughout.

Adrian Yeltsy, an aide worker from Kulikovo stood there, bruised and cut from the ambush. He was stunned to what happened. He saw some of his friends butchered by the very people they were trying to help. It brought into question everything he believed in. Adrian walked like a zombie to a curb and sat down and stared at the wall.
"What am I doing here?" he asked aloud.
"You're here to bring aide and relief to the people of this impoverished and war-torn nation" replied Gregor in a sarcastic tone.
"Yeah. I think we're the real ones in trouble here" he plainly replied.
"We'll get out of here soon, don't worry"

All of a sudden, a guard yelled "RPG!!" within a second it ripped through the gate, exploding and sending shrapnel and bits of concrete into the air. It wounded several men.
"What the hell!?" Syzmanski yelled "Cover! Cover! Get to your posts!"

The troops went to their posts and manned the guns. It was a solitary blast from one rocket. There was no point in firing into the streets. They could hit innocent civilians.
"Stand your ground!" he yelled. He didn't want to send any troops out in search for the attackers. The medics gathered the wounded and soldiers bgena to set up sandbags. Everyone was tense. Andropov shouldered his assault rifle.

Jong Kim-Il drove past the convoy of transports in a jeep, headed for the lead vehical. The scouts had reported that the highways were in bad shape. They were littered with debries and the roads had recieved no maintenece in the past 2 or 3 years. But there was another issuee to contend with. Some locals had been "questioned." They were forced to tell of a rebel group called the "Muertos Negros." Kim-Il knew better than to get mixed up with the native factions. He was going to issue orders to double the advanced partys numbers, and to select a different route. some of the local roads were kept in good shape by the locals, they would be fast and smooth. However these roads fell under the protection og the local Rebel faction. So the batalion was going to travel by the abandonded highways. Unforunatly, it would set his timetables back, posibly incurring the wrath of his superiors. He winced at this thought.

"Steady, comrades. There will be much fighting to do later" he said "But don't worry, these rebels will not succeed. Kulikovo never leaves a soldier behind!"

The civilian personelm were doing their best to help out. They gathered supplies and helped to strengthen the defenses.

In the lead vehical Kim-Il was looking at a blank screen. It was soon going to show pictures taken by a Chinese spy satelite of the UN compund they were to capture. The technitions busily set up the satelite uplink as the crawler rumbled ever forward. Kim-Il didn't know what he expected to see, but it wasn't the image that showed up. He couldn't believe his eyes, he yelled to a for a radio. If what he saw was real, the mission was going to fail miserably. On the screen in front of him was the UN compound shadowed by a large fireball. The compound was already under attack. Kim-Il was shaking. If he didn't get to the compound in time, he would not be able to return to China.
He yelled to the driver: "Divert to the local roads! We must waste no more time in reaching the city!" This was hardly worth the risk, Traveling through rebel infested counrtyside to scrape a day off the trip.

US Marine Corporal Jose Heights stood against the wall next to the Embassy of the United States Of America, an explosion was heard outside causing chaos in the building. Jose was dressed in combats and at his side was a Baretta M9,

"What the hell was that.." he thought then ran to a window...

Soldiers scattered to their posts and an alarm sounded loudly, Four more US Marines jogged to Height's position,

"Rebels are attacking the embassy!"

Jose watched his sergent storm out of the room,

"Full combat gear! M16's with the M209, M29 SAW.. all ammo, assorted weapons and flak jackets! are to be brought foward immeaditly from the book boys..

Four privates by the names of Jones, Presswood,Harris and Houlton took off to the lock up to aquire the gear. Heights took his M9 from it's holster, clicked off the safety and pulled it back,

"Im ready sarge..let em' come"

Sergent Taylor got close to Heights face and said,

"Thats the spirit marine!" and patted him on the shoulder

He turned going back through the doors of the US's sector. Afew minutes later the boys returned with the soldiers kit that would be needed,

"Gear up, lock and load boys..if they can attack the embassy they got a force behind them"

Jones set his combat helmet down on the floor while strapping on his vest, the others prepared with him. Jose strapped his helmet to his side keeping his cap on, he took his Car 15 in his hand cheaking the magazine,

"This seems pretty serious...sarge seemed a little shaken, an't like him.."

Houlton spoke up with a southern accent,

"Sarge an't scared of the lords wrath let alone a bunch of rebels.."

Jose shook his head,

"I didn't mean it like that...you always take things the wrong god damn way..speakin' of rebel.."

The others chuckled and Houlton spoke up,

"The souths gods country..ya'll shut up now.."

The marines were equiped and good to go. Sergent Taylor came back out holding a G43 rifle,

"Alright, we got alot of rebels incomming boys..once they fire shoot the mother fuckers, got it?"

Presswood spoke up,

"After they shoot at us sarge?"

The others shook their heads,

"No..how'd you get through basic training?..once they shoot at any UN member..we do as sarge says..waste the fuckers.."

The marines grinned at the comment,

"Now serious! get in kill mode and shoot some people!" Yelled Sarge...

Kim-Il had ordered new photos taken, to update the situation. But these did not show the UN under attack, it only showed a flurry of activity. He wondered if the were evacuating, but found it unlikely. Had they decided to evacuate, they would be gone by now. No, the compound was setting up its defences in preparation of a coming attack, which lead him to believe that they knew they were coming. But mabey not. He still didn't know who had attacked the UN. The rebels perhaps? Or another nation? Most likely it was only an accident, some gass blew up, he had only overreacted before. But now the convoy was deep in rebel territory, and Kim-Il knew they would have a taste for blood. So the convoy had slowed and there were armed scouts to the front, back, left, and right. Just in case.

Earlier that afternoon the Chinese convoy had been lightly showered by some warm carribean rain. Unfortunatly Kim-Il had routed the batalion through a dirt road, now a mud road. Several troop crawlers had become stuck in the mud, and the scouts had reported their jeeps also becoming stuck. As a result the convoy was completly halted, and the technitions reported that it would take a good solid hour to dislodge the crawlers and set them up with treds for the mud. So Kim-Il had given the soldiers permission to stretch their legs. Many of them were spread out over the surronding terrain. He had herd rumours of some soldiers who had found houses with some buetiful native girls. If this was going to take another hour, mabey giving the locals a visit would not be a bad idea though Kim-Il as he head of in the direction of the staff sergent...

"Do we know where they are?" Kim-Il replied.
"Some of the men said they went up to a nearby residence."
"Send a party to get them."

10 minutes later

"Sir" said Fu-Sin, "the missing soldiers are dead, apparently the father of the girls they were with shot them."
"What!! This cannot be so! Send some men to recover the bodies and bury them. And while they are there have them burn the house down, and make sure no one escapes."

Several of my troops made it back and described the horrors of the rebel attack. The rebel forces are making their way to Havana and to this compoud to drive us out. They function under the clout that we are invaders. The UN is apparently unwelcomed in Cuba. The various rebel factions are in control of most of the island. This city is the only open place left. It is impossible for the remaining UN troops to protect the city. There are barely enough to guard the compound. An hour ago there was a singal rocket attack on the gate. This is serving as a warning. We will not stand down from these agression. As of now, we are stranded until the UN formulates a plan. There are as of now, no avaliable ships nor aircraft. The non-combat UN personel will be expected to assist in all preperations, and if neede, to be commited to the defence of the compound. No UN personel shall depart from this compound without permission. We will shoulder up the defenses and wait. Hopefully reinforcements will arrive or we will be evacuated. Ahead of the Chinese convoy, Ricardo Sanchez and two other men lay quiet by the side of the road. The land mines, just placed,,had been set to ignore the tramping of feet; only the weight of a vehicle would set them off. And at the same time, the trip-wire RPG launcher, rigged with curious, devious innovation, to be set by man or machine, it did not matter, would be launched as well. The trip wire lay submerged in the mud, less a trip wire but a pressure wire, attached to a jury-rigged system of pulleys that would hit the trigger of the RPG, concealed unseen in a large patch of brush, the barrel not even visable in the dense side of the tree. The Chinese invaders would have a nasty surprise. Sanchez smiled, picked up his AK-47, then clicked to the two men with his tongue, the three slowly creeping off and away, two snipers farther off covering their retreat.

the two Kirisuban Secret Service agents using their false identies and posing a businessman and his secretary were in their hotel room in Havana checking the equipment case that had been left by an advance party for them.

It was the usual field agents kit with C4 explosive, detonaters, silenced pistols and listening devices as well as a palmtop computer to tap into the bugs and to send messages home.

Fujiko Omura looked the part of the secretary in her smart skirt suit and Toshiro Nobunaga looked like a businessman.

Now they had to keep an eye on the UN activities and intervene if it looked like they were going to suceed in bringing order to Cuba. Anarchy was in Kirisubo's interest as it made UN look bad.

Fujiko went outside with her pistol concealed in a shoulder holster and a knife concealed under her skirt to meet with their Cuban contact. the meeting looked innocent as they 'bumped into' each other..

They were to arive by plane on a diverted Air Craft Carrier and shiped via helicopter to a landing zone 15 miles from their position. The convoy was making for that landing zone. Kim-Il had been told to expect over 600 troops, 100 support and several new, state of the art vehicals, plus air support from the carier starting in two days. All this was expected to arrive in the next 24 hours, and would be combat ready in another day.
He had also been told that a senior officer was to be sent, "hopefully he would make himself useful to the new commander" was the exact words the Chinese General on the radio had said. Kim-Il knew this was the end of his career, and he blamed it all on the rebles that had ambushed his convoy. And now he would not be able to get his revenge, as he would be replaced by a new commander.

Overlooking the ZAFT forces, the rebel advance scout glanced out from his hiding spot behind several shrubs, spotting potential targets. The ZAFT crews were setting up to eat their evening meal...how nice. Too bad it would be...disrupted. All the invaders on the island...some would pay. These fools would be the first, the first step into taking back a unified Cuba, to becoming a dominant Hispanic power.
The scout made a low gutteral sound in his throat, calling forth another camoflauged man. The two Hispanics talked for some time, before the second scout left to return to his position. Carrying a light radio now, the first scout clutched the device and waited for the attack to begin. He would have to pick and point out targets for the mortars to hit while the ZAFT groups, now setting up mess tents, would be in disaray from the sheer shock of the attack.
With a shrill whistle from behind, several thumps went off from back in the jungle overlooking the open field where the ZAFT forces were laid out, easy for the picking. No one to make such an open error as such would escape the ever-sightful rebels, they had their eyes and ears everywhere, and the ZAFT had fallen right in. The thumps resulted in mortar rounds shrieking through the sky, the explosives landing directly on top of the disembarking tanks, while RPGs and machine guns from the forest tore open, the rat-tat-tat-tat from an M-29 SAW stolen from the UN convoy spraying bullets at the mess tents. The scout took it all in, nearly breaking out laughing at the astonished faces on the ZAFT personnel. The attack looked perfect, weapons fire blowing in from the forest, fire shooting out from explosions, mortars shooting towards transports, tanks, and frightened men.

From the west of Cuba, 5 transport cruisers, each with 240 men and one tank each aboard, make a landing on the coast of Cabo de San Antonio. The soldiers depart the ship, and 1200 of the Otarian Cabals finest make their way onto Cuban soil to help reinstate the iron fist of Communism in the western hemisphere.

About an hour after the landing, the Otarian forces were all deployed, and ready to kick some ass.

With 1125 infantry units, 25 tank personnel (5 per tank), and 25 commanding officers, the Otarian special forces unit, or OSF, begins their 100 mile march towards Havanna.

Within 4 hours of Otarian forces arriving at Cuba, they arrived at the first major Cuban city, Guane. Colonel Burkey recieved orders from his home natino that Guane would be the base of operations for the Otarian forces. They were to use any means necessary to gain control of the city, and from there, they were to use it to generate resources such as gas, food, oil, etc. Necessary stuff for a military operation.

Within a mile of the city, General Burkey ordered about 50 privates to carry megaphones which are attached to small iPods.

The megaphones blasted the national anthem of Castros communist Cuba from 10 years ago.

A mile away, in the city of Guane, a Spanish man, on the outskirts of the city, heard the vaguely familair tune. He remembered it from his childhood days. He ran into his house, and got the attention of his wife.

In Spanish, he yelled to her:

"Look, dear! The Communist forces are here to liberate us from the control of these UN bastards!"

The happy couple ran back outside, when they saw Soldiers marchign towards their home. The couple was overwhelmed with joy to see that the Communism, whch they loved so dearly under Castro, was returning to their homeland.

Lieutenant Banick had his infantry unit stop moving. He went and greeted the family.

"Greetings, fellow proletariats. I am Lieutenant Banick, of the great Socialist nation of Otarias Cabal. We are here to liberate you from the UN scum which has brought shame to a nation who was once a beacon for Socialism and worldwie solidarity! We would appreciate it if you could tell me where the city hall was."

Overwhelmed with joy and relief, the Spanish family gave Banick directions. He thanked the famly personally, and marched off with his batallion.

A few minutes later, Lt. Banick spoke to General Burkey.

"General Burkey, sir! We have determined the location of the city hall."

Burkey, with his newly acquired information, sat and thought for a minute.

After conemplating over a few possibilites, Burkey had came to a conclusion.

"We surround the city, and slowly march towards the center. Crush any resistance to our presence, and treat supporters with respect. Secure all resources, and find temporary shelter for our troops. This will serve as a primary base of operations, an it will also serve as a point for us to generate resources."

Burkey told Banick, and Banick told the rest of the lieutenants.

Within a few minutes, the entire platoon of 1200 knew what was going on.

30 minutes later, the city was surrounded by the Otarian Special Forces unit, and the siege of Guane began.

As expected, there was some resistance, but a fwe bullets to the head would change the mind of the pro-UN citizens.

In an hour, the Otarian forces had secured the city of Guane, with only a few minor injuries to a few select privates and soldiers. General Burkey, himself, propped up the flag of the great nation of Otarias Cabal. The white Hammer and Sickle showed up quite clearly against the red background. The flag was visible to all who were nearby, as the colors contrasted against the bright blue afternoon sky.

After general Burkey explained to the mayor of the city what was going on, the mayor, who was an avid supporter of Fidel Castro's regime, was more than happy to hand over the city hall as a base of operations.

General burkey eflt confidant about the operation. he ordered all 5 tanks, and 900 infantry to split up equally into 2 groups. one would go from the west, and the other; the east. Both of them would eventually arrive at Havannah, whch was still a good 90 miles away, and try to take control of the UN building.

Little did they know, there would barely be anything left in Havannah for the Otarian military to take control of.

Somewhere in Guane a man dialed a cell phone and spoke one word, "nightfall."

Elsewhere in Cuba, a phone rang. The man known only as Thorn answered it was greeted with a single word, "nightfall." He hung up the phone a sat down. So the Otarians had Guane now. This changed things. Central siad it'd be at least the weekend before the city fell. Oh well, he'd just have to accelerate his timetables.

He picked up the phone and idaled a number from memory. When he heard it picked up he spoke, "The die is cast, we move as agreed."

With that he gathered his meager belongings and exited the shack, there was much to do if his plan was to succeed.

Kim-Il somnerly watched as the tanks and troops (a total of 1500 souls now) organized in the small clearing. What was left of his original batalion was scattered in the forest, wary now of rebel attackers. He was looking at some peculiar tanks with short, stubby barrels when the new commander, Col. Sai-Kuu, came up to him.
"They are buetiful are they not?" Sai-Kuu said.
"Yes, but what are they?" Responed Kim-Il.
"They are the key to our success, napalm tanks."
"But how will they help us take the compound?"
"We are no longer taking the compound."
"What! Why?!"
"The UN's precense is weak here, they can do no more to help this miserable little country. Only the Chinese can revitalize this country now. But these rebels are a problem, and our new mission is to irradicate them."
"But we do not know where they are! We will never be able to find them."
"We won't have too. Will we burn them out."
"What do you mean? Surly not..."
"Yes. We are going to use these tanks and napalm bombs from the carrier to burn the rebels out of the forest where we can finish them off."
"But you cannot do that!! You will kill millions of of people and animals! You will ruin what is left of this country! You cannot do this!"
"Do you mean to commit treason Kim-Il, are you going to try and stop me? As i understand it you are in enough trouble as it is. You may retire for the night Major."
"But sir, it is only 2:30."
"Do you want to live to see the night Major?"
"Yes sir, i'm sorry sir." Replied Kim-Il as he marched back to his tent. As he lay in his sleeping roll, he dreaded the dire things that would take place the next morning. As much as Kim-Il loved his country, this was too much to ask. Kim-Il felt afraid, this was the first time he had questioned the ways of his country, and communism.

Lieutenant Banick and his group of 2 tanks and 400 men slowly approached the city of Bauta. The surroundings were rather peaceful. A bright blue Cuban sky flew above the troops as they marched on the seaside route.

It's pretty peaceful out here today. thought Banick to himself. Perhaps, a tad bit too peaceful.

Lieutenant Banick couldn't have been more correct.

BANG! BANG! BANG!

Merely seconds after Banick closed his thoughts, 10 or so shots rang out from the surrounding bay. Each shot was deadly.

Teh entire unit seemed to stop moving, and everyone looked around to see where the shots were coming from.

"LOOK! TO THE LEFT, ON THE BEACH!" shouted one private. "CAPITALIST SCUM ARE TRYING TO ATTACK US! LETS KICK THEIR ASS-"

The private was cut off in mid-sentence as a sniper bullet hit him in the throat, right on target.

BOOM! BOOM!

The two tanks in the unit opened fire on what seemed to be 3 American amphibious transport units. Although both shots missed the ATUs by a somewhat significant margin,t hey were able to injure some of hte soldiers who were sniping away Otarian forces.

Lieutenant Banick shouted the Otarian battle cry of "For Glory and Solidarity!" as he and his entire unit charged forth to engage the Americans in battle.

Minutes later, when Banicks forces reached the beach, a further investigation of the carriers revealed them to be devoid of passengers. However, one private caught was able to see a few American soldiers.

The Otarian forces opened the first shots on the American brigade, and the snipers picked off a few of the heavy infantry, which lookded like they would be able to take out a tank.

"Good. Serve breakfast and then move the company out. As you probably know the UN compound is now our secondary objective, first we must deal with these rebels." Oreder Kim-Il, "And i want Mig patrols over every inch of the island, we WILL find those rebels.

Whether it was still raging or not he did not know. He was flying air cover for the rear of the convoy. He was carrying one small napalm bomb, but the rumour was they were no longer going to use them. The large Convoy was spred out over a small local road. Not many casulties would insue from a rebel ambush. And he could catch glimpses of Patrols in jeeps with mine sweepers. The tanks, napalm tanks, and gatling cannons, were near the center of the convoy. They were not expected to be very usefull, but you never know. He flew lazy cricles in the sky, being wary of the other Migs. He could see 15 seperate planes from where he was, and he knew there was three time that much total. Ku-Son was now running surveylance on the battle. the two forces had been identifyed as the ZAFT forces, and a rebel faction, most likely the "Muertos Negros." However, the Chinese government had reccently come under attack on the political front. The disapearance of the Peoples republic of china delegate from the UN had turned many heads. The Republic of China was under considerable pressure to give up its seat in the UN, and the UN was breathing down its neck, trying to get answers. But China needed power, they could not win a war against the world. The battle was still raging, though it was much less intense.

On the ground.

Kim-Il was not happy with his orders. he had been given command again, but had to split his forces. He had sent Fu-Sin with 700 men and vehicles (napalm tanks and gattling cannons) to clear out as many rebel positions as possible, and to drop in on the ZAFT and rebel forces that were currently fighting in the distance. He, and the remaining 1,000 troops and tanks (regular tanks) were heading twoards Havana, to continue the original goal of taking political prisoners, which China needed now more than ever to pass its corrupt laws and treeatys. He would reach Havana in less than 48 hours. But he knew they would be ready. So he had a few jeeps race out around the outskirts of town. In 24 hours they would start kicking up as much dust as possible from the opposite direction of the convoy. This would hopefully be noticed by the compound, who might divert defences away from where they would strike. Kim-Il knew they could take the compound, but he was to take as many prisoners as possible, not massacre the populace of Havana. However, Kim-Il was soreading his forces thinner than he liked, and had sent in a request for more rienforcements, though he did not expect much or anything soon.

He could also see plumes of smoke rising into the sky, someone was lighting things on fire.

Ku-Son had again been reassinded to run air superiority missions over the ZAFT forces, though he was not to open fire on the ground forces. Several transports had tried to land but him and 3 other planes sent them warining shots whenever they approached the island. He expected the ZAFT to send in additional fighters to break them up, fortunatly there were pleanty of Migs flying around the island should they have to engage in a large dogfight.

Kim-Il and his forces were less than 12 hours from the compound. He planned to stop somewhere out of sight to prepare when they reached Havana. "Yes," was the reply.

"We move now then."

The two men quickly prepared the Improvised Explosive Device (IED). The primitvie bomb was constructed of 10 152mm artillery shells stolen from Cuban base. The shells were attached to a series of blasting caps and simple fuse rigged to a cell phone. The IED was positioned near a road frequented by Cabal troops and buried, in the murky dawn when the patrols tpically left, it would be almost impossible to see.

The ZAFT fire was inaccurate at best, the Chinese, on the other hand, totally mistaken on rebel positions. The rebels, though seemingly a light, badly-trained force, were highly skilled in what they did. Already having moved behind the Chinese, so the Chinese advancers lay between the ZAFT forces and the rebels themselves, the combatants had some RPG men quickly move from tree to tree, staying above the ignorant Chinese forces as the main force, unseen slinking through the underbrush, moved away from the tanks that blasted apart empty shrubbery. The RPG men, now in position, fired off timed and sequential rounds and rockets at the flamer tanks, going for the treads and rear sections to hit easily-crippled locations. As soon as the shots had gone off, the rebels scampered away, criss-crossing through the trees again, out of sight, leaving behind a corpse they had found of a ZAFT soldier killed earlier near the Chinese lines.

First Fu-Sin had been whatching the steady advance of his troops. And then 4 of the fire tanks blew up sending napalm everywhere, starting an uncontrolleble blaze around and on the chinese soldiers. He ordered them to scatter and start firing on the ZAFT, but many had died. Then the radio at his hip yelled
"Missles coming fast and low from ZAFT carriers!"
He almost ducked too late, shortly after the message the forrest erupted into flame and whole sections were missing, replaced by stumps. He had the troops move away from the burning tanks, and had the remaing gattling tanks take up positions to level the ZAFT. The 600 remaining Chinese soldiers took cover and worked to keep the ZAFT back. While this happened more soldiers dug trenches and others set up an HQ. Fu-Sin would start planning now, and when the sun came up the next day, the ZAFT better be waiting.
But first he dealt with the Migs. They said they had flares shot at them, and a survellance plane had taken pictures of mobilizing planes. He had the carrier arm some Migs with torpedos and increased the air cover over the battlefield. If the ZAFT intended to threaten the Red Army, they had something coming.

Then just before three missles slamed into his plane, he managed to aim his Mig down in the general direction of the ZAFT forces, he hoped he would take some of them in his death. As Ku-Sons firey tomb slammed into the ground near the ZAFT forces, the other Migs scattered, most of them were hit, few of them were able too eject. Some of them managed to fire torpedoes at the far off ships, but it was unlikly any would make it there. Two, mabey three, planes made it back from the attack.

Meanwhile on the ground.

Fu-Sin was painfully aware of the devastation from above, and knew he had made a horrible mistake. But he would not let himself be shamed from his country! Despite the fact thata another hundred soldiers had died from the off-shore bombardment, Fu-Sin oredered his remaining troops, all 400 hundered of them, to charge the ZAFT forces. He intended to bring the ZAFT down with him. He ran out from his cover and lead the charge, men screaming battle crys from behind him. Seconds later a bullet penetrated his skull and blew a hole through the other side. But no one noticed, they were too busy flinging themselves at the ZFAT lines.

Kim-Il was extremly unhaooy at this oint in time. Not only had Fu-Sin gone mad, lost the whole fighter division, and launch an offensive on the ZAFT. but the UN had refused to answer his ultimatum. The troops he sent out came back saying the compound had sent no reply. So he started the siege. Shells exploded from tanks and artillery all around the UN, soon he would send in his leigions of troops.

Fu-Sins forces contiued thier attack on the ZAFT lines. But Fu-Sins absence had been noticed and they were starting to organize. Missles occaisonaly made their way up at the circleing planes, and more fire was directed at the incoming transports. There were more ZAFT tanks than ever, but there were a few bazookas in the Chinese ranks, and they weren't bad shots.

a Group of Sky Blazers dropped some 500 Lb bombs on the Chinese forces. The transports were barly effected by the simple gun fire, as more troops and armor moved in and pushed outwards. no doubt both the chinese and the rebels were running out of ammunition and supplies

a message was broadcast to the chinese and rebel forces "if you surrender now you will be allowed to go home"

The Chinese were taking tromendous casualties, but there were pleanty of troops to keep it up for a while longer. They heard a message offering surrender, but a lifetime of communist propaganda made them turn off their radios. The Chinese troops had organized significantly though, and an officer had taken command he was slowly pulling the Chinese out, laying some explosives to cover their retreat. They realized this was a futile battle, and had decided to retreat back to the mian column, which was back in Havana. As soon as the mines were set the remaining troops (around 250 men) would send one last synchronized and deadly blast at the ZAFT, and then depart, using the troop crawlers. The gattling cannos would be taken ou tof hiding for the last attack and the retreat. They would be useful in mowing down the ZAFT forces, before they were destroyed by their many tanks.

The Chinese were now in full retreat. It was not unorganized though. They were heading ou ton foot to the wiating troop crawlers, priming the mines alll around the ZAFT as they went. The ZAFT troops had stoped following them, but the air force continued to rain down deadly fire. But soon they would be on their way, back to Havavna, to help in the taking of the embasy, and prepare from the ZAFT fight.
