Tea and introductions
Alexia de Laureth

OOC: This is just a sort of "get to know your neighbors" sort of thread. Play your country's leader, delegate, ambassador or any other reasonable personage that can represent your corner of whichever globe you happen to inhabit. Try to keep things polite, as we're here to pass the sugar, not the nukes. =)
IC:
A woman in her mid 20's, looking too young for her age and feeling too old for it, scanned the terrace. Several contries' representatives had already arrived, but there were still outnumbered by empty chairs. Neither of Alexia de Laureth's rulers had mastered "fashionably late." Also, it should be noted that neither of them were fit to be social face behind the newly recognized nation. The woman shrugged and navigated the marble stairs with the aid of her cane.
It took a short, sniping argument from questionable leader to stubborn usher to get her status recognized. Temper ended the argument. "Yes, it was, but now it's white, thanks to many a bottle of bleach." Black Number One no longer suited the overly petite woman. She shook her head, color damaged hair fluffing oddly around the wreath that adorned her temples. Several delegates had already been escorted to their tables during the brief span. Large, important nations, it seemed to her, kept large, self-important men to smile nicely and drink tea at these silly functions. Maybe she and her co-leader should discus attaining such a face. This was eating into her rare video game time.
"Here you are, madam..." The usher waited for a supplied name, but did not receive it. "... Alexia de Laureth."
"Thank you," she replied with not an ounce of the human kinship her country preached. "Good morning," she greeted those already at her table. A grumbling sigh escaped her as she glanced at the empty place a-side her, also reserved for the unorthodox little nation.

One man at the table stayed quiet throughout the talk of other delegates. The man, dressed in a dark robe, hood over the upper half of his face, did not eat nor drink what was laid out, merely sitting back in his seat, scanning over the others at the table, his revealed mouth shut and unassuming. He was, instead of sharing interest on his nation, taking in key information about the others, comprehending the snippets barely revealed and sorting it out in his head into useful intelligence. Customs, governments, society-he was taking it all in, it would provide useful not only to his superiors, but when he actually had to deal with these people. To the outside observer, he was simply detached and quiet. But his mind raced as fast as a supresonic jet, getting to know the others far better than he could from simple idle chat.

An extremely tall (seven foot) man at the table, dressed in a green robe with no hood, quietly enjoyed the food. He was here to start relations with other governments. Who says a nation regularily in three wars at once couldn't have friends?

Hazel eyes stared around the table. No responses met her greeting. "Ooukay, then." A small hand wrapped around a tea pot's handle, beating a very English looking gentleman to the silver grip. She smiled, a flash of teeth and instability. It was rude to pour your own tea, but as far as she was concerned, it was far ruder to ignore a lady, even if she acted rather like the opposite sex and came from a place all here likely considered backwater. Tea sloshed into the porcelain cup in front of her. Caffeine allergy be damned. Honey overdosed the small portion of steeped liquid. Sweet tooth be obeyed.

The Pythogrian representative spoke out. "Have any of you heard of that war in KooleKoggle?"

Having heard announcement, TRC had sent in one of its most honorable military men, Sir Major Rayford Mckight, a war hero from the revolution of the code.
At 6'1", and fair skinned, he was a tall lanky sort of fellow. Dressed in his Royal Army uniform, the white shirt with the red sleeve tips, his rack of ribbons displayed proudly on his chest, with medals below.
"The tea's good mates." his low, inflectious voice emmited.
"Anyone interested in modern economics?" he said as he leaned over the table with a sly grin.

The robed man continued to stare out. A somewhat lame, half-hearted attempt on the behalf of the military officer to spurn conversation...on the other hand, the lady, supposed to be host, was doing nothing to try and begin, either. Not that this bothered him at all.
Ryan stretched as he exited the vehicle for the tea that was being hosted by one Alexia de Laureth. He straightened his suit's jacket and headed in. Meeting the usher, he presented his credentials and the card identifying him as Ryan Von Delai.
Stepping into the tea room, he noticed an attractive woman who appeared to be in his age range. Of the men he noticed, he was by far the shortest as he stood 5'5" in his stocking feet.
Walking over to the woman, he asked as he delicately poured himself a cup of tea and added a small packet of something sugar like, "Hello there, do you happen to be Miss Alexia?"

"I haven't heard of the war." the robed man spoke, with a slightly dark undertone, "What has KooleKoggle gotten themselves into?"
A man about 6"4' sat at the table with the rest of the delegates. He wore a light grey Armani suit, a black dress shirt underneath with a dark red tie, and platinum cufflinks. This was the traditional dress of any representative of the Kingdom.
He scanned the rest of the delegates, recognizing only a handful, as he took a sip of his Mango tea.

"Oh yes yes!" Mcknight's ears perked up, "do tell us about the war."

OOC: AdL is not the host of the affair. Host is undeclared, and perhaps is safe to assume it's the NSUN trying to drum up new members. Also, thanks for joing the RP!
IC: "Quite frankly, sir, I don't even know where KooleKoggle is." If there were any who stood out on a list of Who Should NOT Attend Grand Functions, the dule-leaders were bolded, underlined and highlighted. This one, the shorter, leaf wearing one, shoved up her mock Renaissance sleeves and made a show of slurping at her tea. She muttered into her cup, "I wasn't aware anyone was interested in economics."

"I haven't heard of the war." the robed man spoke, with a slightly dark undertone, "What has KooleKoggle gotten themselves into?"
"Well, basically, the government... began to commit genocide." The representative sipped tea. "Against everyone who didn't like them. We intervened, along with 1010102 and Spit Break. Plus Moantha. Then, well, two generals defected to us. We're rushing the capital, but the last town on the way is heavily guarded with special forces. They use gurrilia tactics. Any suggestions to defeat them?"

"Get Spit Break and 1010102 out" remarked the man, making a vague humor attempt. "I would advise using harsher war tactics to root out the rogues."

"Yes, the problem is that they don't exactly seem to like venturing far from civillian shields."

"Snipers, black ops. Overall, I'd say use unconventional warfare tactics. Sneak some of your men into the city, dress them as civilians. It may just create broken trust among your enemies, making your attack easier."

"Yes, true. I think we'll do that."
He wrote it on a notepad.

"Civilian shields? Casulties happen," remarked the man, "it's part of war. What must be done to cowardly insurgents must be done, even in the cost of other lives. Evac civilians out of known insurgent hideout towns, and simply annihilate the towns."

"If you evaced all the citizens, that woud drastically change the circumstances, besides, during times of war, citizens tend to get out of the way when the local firefights breakout. Anyone dumb enough to run in front of a actively firing machine gun probobly deserves to get shot." Mcknight claimed, with a boarderline smile on his face.
The representative from Maraque listened to the conversation at hand very intently... the Kingdom rarely ever took part in many conferences and the like, so actually being in one was important.

Duke Voldorious (http://i50.photobucket.com/albums/f307/Blastit52/Blastit%20Empire%20Politicians/man_in_tux.jpg) of the Protectorate of Blastonia had just arrived. Slightly nervous, he looked in a small pocket mirror, and brushed his hair back with his hand.
Smiling, he walked inside, showing the usher his identification and invitation. He walked inside, noticing several people speaking of war, while a more peaceful conversation seemed to be near a young lady and a short man.
"Greetings, I am Duke Voldorious of the Blastonian Empire," he introduced himself to the two, bowing regally.

Mcknight shot the entering representative a respectful nod, and he looked back at the Pythogrian representative,
"So tell me, representative of Pythogria, during the seperatist movment, that strategy your forces used in the Hiyak river valley, what made it so effective? I was unfortunetly overseas during the conflict and did not get a chance to see for myself. Care to share?"

This was out of the league for Madison Yuske and Miyuki Chinchiro. They havent had much interaction with a good deal many people, and they weren't war vetrans, so they didn't have any advise for the people discussing a war.
Madison said: "Excuse me, but evacuating civilians, wouldn't that be just as hard as acutally seizing the city." Everyone looked at her like she had lobsters crawling out of her mouth.
"Well it's not like someone can help if they get shot or not. After all, bullets can travel through walls. But depending on how dense the population area is, and if they are controlled by tyranical rulers, it wouldn't seem like they could really leave the city. Maybe this is silly, but have you ever thought of going through the sewer system? I've heard of advancing from the rear, and air campaings, but has anyone ever tried sneaking their way through the pipes beneath the city?"
She stood up and drew on the white board.
"It's a matter of simple naviagation and schematics. All systems empty someplace, so enter through the best drainage, point. Creep, and emerge from several axis points, ultimately suprising the soldiers. It may be gutsy, but risks are part of war. A person who takes no risk can't win a war."

"Basically, we used the Artanis. It's named after our God of Lightning. It's one, big, inexorable advance. Artillery fires ahead of forces, tanks clean up resistance, and anything else is picked off by infantry. About the only thing it isn't good against is flank attacks, or gurrilias. For those we have the Kong Sev strategy, however."
