Loudain
26-04-2006, 00:02
This diplomatic statement to all nations is to officially open up the Constitutional Monarchy of Loudain to diplomatic envoys, consulates, and embassies. All such diplomatic affairs will be conducted within the nation's capitol, Berzhon. All foreign diplomatic officials will be granted diplomatic immunity, unless they are suspected of subversive crimes against his majesty's government in which said diplomats will be expelled from the nation in a prompt and safe manner. To further intice foreign diplomatic and economic ventures within Loudain, the following is a brief explaination of the Nation.
The Government
The Loudainian government is first and foremost headed by His Royal Highness, the King. Beneath the King lies two houses of the legislative branch. The upper house is called The Bench of Duchies, and the lower house is called The Parliament. The Bench of Duchies serves simply as an advisory/prestigious role in the legislative branch. Though having limited powers, the Bench has powerful string pulling powers with HRH. To be placed on the Bench of Duchies, one is officially titled as a Duke [though no official estate or fiefdom given] and is entitled to their position for life pending HRH's approval. The Parliament is a proportional representation elected body by the people with four major parties currently existing. These parties are the Royalist Paty [right], the Constitutional Party [center], the Reformist Party [left], and the Conservative-Republicans [center-right]. HRH appoints a Prime Minister from the majority party with the Prime Minister appointing his own cabinet. The PM is required to weekly speak before Parliament and participate in a Q&A session. The PM is also often forced [for the better] to form coalitions with other parties in order to pass legislation. All legislation of course must also pass the approval of HRH.
Economy
The Loudainian economy is one based primarily on a thriving resort/gambling industry as well as beef-based agriculture. Corporatism however exists strongly currently with many top Company officials sitting on the Bench of Duchies. However much like the government, the economy is also supervised to some extent by HRH. Companies are encouraged to not only move for profit, but also for the glory and benefit of the nation.
Culture
The culture of the nation and people is primarily that of pride. Loudainians enjoy working hard and playing harder. They are loyal to the Royal Family and often turnout for events. With a thriving economy, the urban elite are countered by the rural aristocratic ranch owners. [OOC Note: Think British Empire, Victorian era here].
The Royal Family
The Royal Family are all descendents of the Hasek lineage. The current King is King William II and Queen Anne. The royal couple have five children...
Prince Phillip [26]
Prince Alexander [25]
Princess Alaine [23]
Prince Edward [20]
Princess Deidre [19]
The Royal Family all reside in the Imperial Palace (http://hungary.visit.pl/www.hungary.visit.pl/img/system/albu/BUD_RoyalPalace1_bg.jpg). Currently none of the royal children are married except for Prince Alexander. Prince Phillip is currently serving as a top military aide to his father and Prince Edward is attending the Royal Naval Academy with plans to study the field of Law abroad. The remaining Princess' are currently seeking suitors of noble blood.
With that said, all nations of fitting principles are encouraged to engage in diplomatic and economic relations with Loudain.
