It really depends on what kind of war you want, FT, MT, PT..

FT I can do, but you'd have to face my SuperCapital Navy Doctrine. It really depends, the choice is yours.

I'm up for it if it was MT (no more then near future tec (mine is all real world or based on real world tec)) and conventional (chemical and biological maybe (chemical is a yes biological i'd have to think about it))

I have a standing force of 1.5 million but I could raise more if it was a major war.

actually as i'm very much larger then you how about an area of my nation tries to defect to you (as our countries are pretty opposed in ideologies (note my nations views arn't my own...)) and I try to keep it in control and you end up getting involved as well

Was sentenced to death by his president but escaped. Now he's popped up again with the backing of a third state and is trying to wipe us and our neighbours out.

best thing to do is to look in real life conflicts and what started them. WWI and II, Vietnam, 100 years war, the War of the Roses, etc. Sometimes real world can be a great inspiration.

How about:

A island pledges its allegence to you.

We (I) needed that island to colonise/annex more islands, plus we don't want another power in the region.

I have an offensive army of about 2 million (complusery servire, but if it still seems too big, tell me), most of which are poorly equiped and trained.
