OOC: This is closed to me and my friend who is learning to RP. We'll have a little skirmish over an island and losses will not count against your nation's military. Instead, it's like we're playing war games with fake ships. Let's go Cypra...

"Sir, we have reading on that island."

"What have you found Captain?"

"Uranium sir, and a heck of a lot of it! I suggest we move in and take it, could be worth a fortune!"

"What's the status?"

"Looks like we got a new nation down there, inhabiting the small island. Cypra Mundii they call themselves. Looks too small to me. We could whoop 'em easy Colonel. Let's go get 'em."

"Not so fast Captain, we don't know much about them. But I would liek to have that Uranium. Get a message to the 'House' A-sap."

"Yes sir."

Colonel Graflinburgh walked to the edge of the building and stared out the window. 200 F-26 Locusts were preparing to take off for a test mission. Change of plans?? Good idea...

"Captain, contact those Locusts and revert course towards that island. have them get a reading and report back when they've reached the airspace."

The Captain let out a war cry like and Indian, "Yes Sir!"

The Locusts powered up and slammed into action. Within minutes, Two-hundred of some of Geneticon's best Multi-role fighters were headed towards a small island full of Uranium and posessed by Cypra Mundii.

James Cartwright approached the door and knocked three times. "Come in." came a warm reply muttered slowly.

James pushed the heavy oak door open. Darn... a splinter. He sucked his left index finger as he handed the President a briefing.

"Looks like we got some Uranium on some island out there. The Colonel requests permission to attack and take it."

President Keith Johnson stared at the man and his finger blankly. "We don't just go bounding into another nation's territory and attack for no reason!"

"There is a reason... millions and millions of them. Their called dollars."

Johnson let out a sigh. Deep. Heavy.

"Fine, if their small anyway. Don't let any other nation know. Do what you must and do it quickly."

"Ok Keith."

The Emperor stared across the sea visible from the Military room.

"Is their anything we can do?" he asked the Commander of Air Force Operations.

"I'm afraid not, this force is too large that we can't even put a dent into it, even with a pre-emptive counter-strike." he responded in a low and grim voice.

"I knew that opening our borders to the outside would only bring us doom." He was right, 3 years before the Regional Governors voted to start trading with DMI, a large weapons manufacturer.

"Sir!" an aid ran into the room, "they are trying to communicate with us about a surrender of the island and all inhabitants!"

"Send the message into my personal bedroom." the Emperor replied and walked in that direction. The other men present in the Military room had a sense of humiliation without even firing a shot.

"We could launch 'it' if we wanted?" the General of Naval Operations suggested, a new and unexperienced branch of the Empire.

"I would rather give 'it' to them freely." he only responded.

Message to Cypra Mundii:

Quite frankly, dear sirs, we want your island. You have some precious chemicals and minerals on that island which we believe should be Geneticon property. Therefore, we will not hesistate to take what we believe is ours. If you do not surrender within 20 minutes, we will attack. Trust us, you don't want to be attacked. If you think your puny weapons can stand up to ours, you have a suprise coming.

That's it. Enough. 20 minutes starts now.

Sweat poured from Keith's head to the desk he leaned on. This is getting ugly quick. He was startled by James' voice.

"Sir, this could get ugly quick."

Amazing how we think alike...

"I don't care if it's overkill, James, I want to make sure we take care of this once and for all. Put some good fighters and bombers in the air, and a heck of a lot of them. Spread them out, in case they use an EMP weapon or something, but close enough so they can assist each other."

"Yes sir."

200 F-35 JSF's left the ground, with 200 SuF-8's and 50 B-3's. Additionally, 800 F-22's would join in the escort.

They all cruised down the many runways and got airborne, headed for the island.

A message transmits through Sergant Riker's headet:

"We got a heck of an Air Force, Sergant."

"We sure do... and this is only a small piece of it." He replies casually, as he powers his SuF-8 through the sky and shifts it over to take the lead of his squad.

To the President of Geneticon,

The nation of Cypra Mundii will not surrender its population. However we would be willing to let you mine as much of these 'minerals' that you would like if you would let us keep our independence. War is not the only option you have to take. We can be good allies if you give us the chance to prove ourselves.

"They have failed to close our trade routes with the Nations in the West. It would be a large mistake to attack us with those routes still open." The Supreme Commander of land forces told the others in the room.

"You're right! Aid, send a message to all military bases that we are activating Madurai." The scene in the room was hectic, commanders were calling air bases and ports to launch the defense plan of the Empire.

"Sir," reported an aid."AWAR has reported a large group of military planes closing in our direction!"

"Send a message to Nagpur Air Base to launch the Mig's" the air commander responded calmly.

"Commander we have just been told to launch the Mig 1.42's." The lieutenant told the Commander.

"Alert the aircrew's to launch ASAP for long range interception, close with the enemy at best speed. The Su-37's will be right behind them to help engage escort's and the bombers. Keep the Su-47's for last line of defence." The sound of his voice was as calm as any experienced leader should be.

"Madurai has been activated, sir." An older pilot turned intel officer told the base commander.

"Tell half the Tu-22 crews to arm themselves with conventional bombing equipment and the other half to arm with long range anti ship missles. Both are to fly at extremely low altitude to avoid detection from enemy radar."

Colonel Graflinburgh hugged himself as he walked back and forth between the electronic meters. In this huge room, thousands of computers monitored only a small part of Geneticon's military. Amazing. Geneticon computer engineering was simply amazing. And it was about to get better...

"Captain, about this new message. I believe that this has fone far enough. The world must know our true intent."

"Yes sir."

The Colonel sighed and walked over to the screen. The 20 minutes were up. The attack would commence now. Graflinburgh slammed a button nearby and revealed a small intercom. "This is the Colonel to all ships, begin your run."

He released the button and stepped back. He stared up into the ceiling and sighed very deeply. "God help us Captain."

The message relayed over the several screen displayed on the F-26 cockpits. "Ah yes... this is Corporal Jenkins over the Beleil. Looks like we got ourselves some orders sir."

The Captain in the skies flew his F-26 slowly and cautiously. "Hold onto your horses, we don't know what the heck we're gonna have to deal with. Call in some AWACS... you have some free time."

"Roger that sir." The Corporal slapped the touch screen signifying the radio to begin transmitting back to base. It was a highly difficult procedure to use touch screen controls on board a fighter plane going just under Mach 1, but Geneticon pilots had practice it endlessly and had it down to a science. At least those who flew the F-26 Locust.

The voice cut through the skies. "Yes, this is Corporal Jenkins calling for the Captain. We need some AWACS out here."

"They request AWACS sir."

"Well then, in the name of Josephine herself, get the darn things in the air!"

"Sir?"

"Shut-up and get them up there."

1503 hours

6 AWACS revved their jets and blasted off of various runways at the base. They would be at the position within minutes.

---

The Straight of Beliel Airspace

The SuF-8G's hovered at an intensely low altitude. The pilots stretched their necks and bore their controls with pride. One false shift downward, and their planes would spiral and smash into the water below within a mili-second. There was no room for any error. With the pilot would go 165 million dollars. Not a good thing to lose so quickly from a small mistake.

This took concentration. Something Captain James Faldwrell had. His sweaty hands grasped the controls of the stealth fighter with ease, yet determination.

"Steady." he reassured his wing-mates. "We'll have AWACS in position in about 6 minutes and forty-five seconds."

Then again... it doesn't matter... our range is so much longer on radar then theirs likely...

His gloves absorbed most of the sweat, but he could still feel it inside the leather apparel.

God help us...

"Then again, look sharp boys. After all, it's only a wargame."

The SuFs sped towards the shore of the island.

A shrill cry came over the intercom. "Sir, contact at 2 o'clock high! We're a ways off... but we should take care of it. Looks like some Russian fighters. A lot. Range is just under 385 kilometers."

"Darn... their on it. Let's give it to them. Get a lock on every single plane. Our superior range should enable us to take care of them with ease. Call out the target you selected. Scatter shots to make sure every plane gets a handy helping."

The SuF's slammed into action and roared up higher to meet the enemy.

After a few seconds of shot calling, each SuF locked on and let go 1 GM-1 Cottonmouth LRAAM, using the AVCS systems to target and fire. The 200 missiles left their bays and soared towards the enemy.

"That's enough, pull out. Let's get back out of range."

Each of the SuF-8G's engines burned thrusters and reversed with an immelman and barrel roll combo, turning back towards Geneticon.

The missiles soared on towards their targets, the Mig 1.42s.

"Make extreme maneuvers to avoid these... there's about three fired at all of us..."the radio went out on 45 out of the 60 Su-37 Super Flanker's sent out to hunt the enemy bombers.

"What is the count on those that 'survived' this initial salvo?" the second-in-command asked whoever was left in the fighter group.

"We have fifteen left still airworthy Captain."

"Let's hope that will be enough."

"The Su-37's have taken heavy 'casualties', sir!" the lieutenant piloting the most rear of the Mig 1.42 fighter group said.

"You know as much as I do their is nothing we can do, we must press on the attack for the greater good." Their was a few sounds of weeping through the radio because of siblings in the two different fighter groups.

"Sir! We have visual contact at high altitude, it's that bomber group!" a subordinate yelled over the radio.

"We will let them pass over us then come in behind them to target the F-22's. If we do this then they might be distracted enough that the remaining Su-37's can hit those B-3's." It was a good plan despite the fact that they were outnumbered about 15-1.

"Captain, from the looks of it we will penetrate their air-defences without a problem." The mission specialist on board the Tu-22 Backfire was a veteran of the Baku Wars almost 7 years ago. He was the calmest man on board the bomber at that time.

"We are almost in range of their larger ships, sir." another crew member said.

"Open bomb bay doors. Target thier largest ships first. We can target 30 ships with five missles on each of them. Their anti-missle armament can't take out five missles in a a few seconds!."

OOC: The anti-missle turrets have only around this time because of its short range. Also, the movie The Sum of All Fears featured a squadron of 5 Tu-22's launching 2 missles each at the Theodore Roosevelt Aircraft Carrier and crippiling it with 6 missle hits (GREAT MOVIE by the way).

"We are almost within range of the enemy airbase."

"Good." The only response of the pilot was not a good one.

"Open missle doors. I want 7 of you to go after the massive airstrip..." His voice got deeper as he examined the size of the Air Base they were about to attack.

"I want the other 8 to go after parked fighters and refeuling tankers. We may not be able to destroy this base but we will take it out of action for a while!"

The 180 short-range ballistic missles all had been launched in about 20 seconds.

OOC: I have reduced the actual load of the bombers to represent two extra fuel tanks for a long range attack such as this (10 missles each). Also the other anti-ship missles have the same number of missles total.

"Sir!! We have contact at 9 o'clock low!" The streaming message came accross the read of the Locust aircraft. Corporal Jenkins broadcast the news that his radar had been lucky enough to pick them up down below. Or was it his eye that caught them? No matter... they were there.

The AWACS were in position and transmitted the info once the crafts had been spotted. The rading came accross the screens. Mig 1.42s.

The Captain's voice came accross the headset. "They're waiting for us to go past them and them pulling in behind us. Let them try it. They're going to likely make a run at the bombers.

All F-26's back down immediately. We'll handle this. Our GGJMS will give us an advantage in a dogfight, now that we have a visual. F-22's and B-3's, set speed at maximum."

"Copy that sir."

The B-3's and F-22's slammed their afterburners into motion, burning at maximum speed towards the island. Minutes away. 164 Locusts went with them. 46 Locusts on the other hand hit the brakes and slowed to minimum speed, whipping around to face the rears of the Mig's that had just passed below. "Fire when locked."

A barrage of 32 Sidewinder missiles locked and fired on the Mig's.

The SuF-8Gs were delighted by their first run. No doubt it had dealt several casualties. They were now headed back toward Geneticon, but would turn once the Geneticon bomber group came in range. Always escort the bombers. Always.

F-22's were scouring the skies, almost everywhere.

Captain James Faldwrell smiled as he spotted the B-3's overhead. The SuFs came around and burned speed to get ahead of the bombers, then sat in front of them at identical speeds and slightly lower altittudes.

"I hope we don't have any more planes to deal with."

"Sir! Our scanners are picking up remaining Su-37's!"

"Darn, they didn't all die yet. We must have hit a bunch, but not enough. Lock on and fire when ready." The voice commands came over the radios as each man called his shot. Then, with the help of the AVCS, 50 of the SuF's fired a single GM-1 Cottonmouth Long-Range Anti-Aircraft Missile.

"That ought to finish them. There is probably more though. These Russian planes are worth a thing..."

The naval officer ran into the bridge room. "SIR! We have bombers overhead!"

"Darn them! Those stupid aircraft sent an attack at Cypra Mundii. Figures that we should take the brunt of their bombing run. Kill the darn things. I want AA superiority NOW."

"Done sir.. we're firing as we speak."

The 8 Flanker Class Destroyer Ships harbored within the bay fired 6 Sea Sparrow missiles each at the bombers specifically. The 6 Stingray class cruisers sat idle while they were being bombed. 15 FFG-7 Oliver Hazard Perry Class ships did their best to shoot down the incoming missiles with MK 15 Phalanx Close-In Weapons System (CIWS) fire. All they could do now was watch and pray.

"Sir, we've picked up some planes headed right for US."

"Darn, bombers intent on destroying our airbase no doubt. Let's give it to them. Turn 300 F-22's around and tell them to get here A-Sap. Burn afterburners. Get here on the double!"

"Yes sir."

"Fire all SAM sites."

"Firing sir."

The ground opened up, and 350 SAM missiles could be seen firing out of the ground. Three missiles each, headed right for the incoming attackers.

"Sir, that won't be enough! It seems they've just launched some missiles at us!"

"Intercept with SAMs remaining missiles!"

This time 1050 missiles headed straight on to intercept the incoming 180 enemy ordinance pieces.

_________________________________________________________

OOC: Oh, the goodness of SAM sites and Anti-aircraft fire. I thank God the day I bough those SAMs and Frigates. Anyways, I need you to post how many of your missiles escaped, how much damage all your ships that were fired upon took. What the Migs did in reaction to my SuF and Locust moves. (And firing) And finally, How many bombs got through in the naval attack.

Getting very fun now. This is the first time I've tested any of my modern units. Very fun. I like my technology! I got stuff to defend against everything! (I'm still guessing I'm going to take quite a few hits on my naval vessels).

And yes, you are getting hit with overkill on every single attack and defense. 1050 SAM missiles are going at 180 of your air-to-ground missiles! That's overkill... but it's fun to watch anyway.

OOC: I would like to clariffy something up. The MiG 1.42 popular to misconception (partly because of marketing) is by far know where close to the stealthiness of the F-22 Raptor. To be honest, its airframe tells all. Canards and the fact that there are 90 degree angles on the aircraft show that it isn't going to be overally stealthy. RAM might help a bit but it isn't going to be more stealthy than the Eurofighter. Also NS radars are usually powerful enough to track stealth aircrafts since remember stealth doesn't make an aircraft invisible it just makes it less detectable. Obviously a radar that is more powerful (one that sends out tons of waves) will be able to track and target them.

Also Geneticon you wouldn't have the AIM-509B since it is a foreign made AAM, not one that comes with the SuF-8. You can RP your own AAM but you can't use the AIM-509B unless you've bought them from OMASC/NDI (Omz222).

And yes, you are getting hit with overkill on every single attack and defense.
[ooc:] Actually, overkill would be more like the 25,124 heavy incendiary missiles used to raze a defenseless forest... or the 48,000+ missiles targeting a single building... or approximately 100,000 missiles and shells aimed at a 300-ship fleet (about 333.333 missiles per ship). All examples from the Warmasterian War.

Anyway -- looks like good work on both sides so far.

OOC: I will have to make some more bashing of Geneticon, poor guy.
Why in Heaven's name would my Tu-22M Backfires be OVER the target ships in your port!!! My bombers are armed with the AS-5 KELT (designation may have changed) sea-skimming missles, this means that you would not be able to ditect them until about 60 seconds away (my bad on only a few seconds). Now of course it would make sense that I did have an advantage of surprise on you so your ships might only get a 30-45 second response window.
The bombers attacking your airbase you would be able to 'see' on radar for only a few moments because as soon as I have fired my missles I am skeddadling! Keep in mind that they are also at very low altitude, as well as the missles of course, so your ability to detect them would be a little off as well.

Thanks to all of you who have posted OOC comments, these are GREATLY appreciated. However, we would like to make a request that any and all comments should be about stats and tactics to help us have some sort of 'realistic' factor to make this wargame have a more believable outcome (I do understand completely that a lot of the weapons we are using are fictional through and through). Again, thank you.

OOC: My post would still hold true though.

Remember, I sent up AWACS to cover the entire area surrounding Geneticon and the Straight, so I likely would have detected you. Stealth makes you easier to detect, but not totally invisible.

In this light, you can do as you wish. My post will stand, and you can reply with any losses you take. In an RP, you decide how much damage you take realistically. So think about it and decide realistically how effective I really was.
