The ripples will shatter the pond

Nichoali stared at his monitor. He pondered at exactly how his message should be worded. It would reach thousands, directly, and many more through word of mouth. He figured that the government knew about him, though he did everything possible to stay anonymous. He thanked the freedom of technology act that the government had passed, which allowed him to encode and ping his message to others, before it got passed around.

He remembered a term from the book. He had only time to read it for about 30 hours, and remember as much as he could, as the book itself was not made in the country, and the government had a way of collecting these books and getting rid of them, discreetly.

He looked down at his keyboard, and back to the screen.

"Amen."

-------------------------------

"Captain..."

"Yes?"

"Word of another message has spread around. Again, we've tracked down one of the pings to our city."

"What about other spots?"

"Every time, our city is the furthest point we could track it to."

"Alright then... We don't have much choice. Go ahead with the plan."

------------------------------------------

Two green and white helicopters, nearly the size of Mi-26's, took off from Amberan airforce base in the city of Satua, in the northern region of Chellis. Witnesses reported that they were unarmed, but people could be seen in the windows, likely chellian gendarmes. Their purpose was unknown.

"Aman!"

"Shit, what?"

"Film it, film it!"

Aman flipped open his video camera, and turned it on. This was priceless footage. He watched as Chellian Gendarmes poured out of the back of a large military helicopter, on top of an apartment.

He zoomed in. The men were very heavily armed, with assault rifles and carbines by the look of it. It wasn't long until the first gunshots could be heard, and one of the helicopters began to descend onto a nearby field.

A large explosion rang out. Aman focused his camera onto the spot where it had occured. "Aman, fuckin... lets get further away!" Aman's companion said. He began to slowly back off, as more explosions occured. He got a good distance, and set up to continue watching.

There wasn't much more to watch. He watched in horror as a number of explosions rang through the bottom of the apartment, and the floors started crumbling onto each other. He dropped the camera, and began running; the cloud of dust and smoke was quickly headed his way.

---------------------------------

Aman sat at home later that night. He managed to find his camera later, and although it was very messed up visually, the internals were working fine. He was working on the film closely, editing it on his computer, when his television turned on.

"The following is an important announcement from the Chamber"

Aman had a slight shrudder. The Chamber only gave public messages in very dire times. He wondered for a bit if it had anything to do with what he had seen the previous night.

"Citizens of Chellis!" Boomed Kaoli Medecino, the very well known head of security of Chellis. "Today, a horrendous act was committed. We have been tracking down a cell of religious terrorists the last few months, and today, a move was made by a platoon of Chellian Gendarmes to capture the heads of the group.

The terrorists are much more violent than we originally thought. Heavily armed, the terrorists immediatly opened fire on the gendarmes as they attempted to enter the terrorists base of operations, an apartment in Satua. Our forces pressed on, slowly advancing to where the leader of the terrorists was thought to be.

Our forces arrived in the complex thought to be his, only to have it explode as they began to enter. The remaining forces began to head down lower to chase the terrorists, when the building was shook by explosions, and collapsed on itself.

The Fox platoon of the 94th Gendarme division, 7th brigade, has been wiped out. We have found no survivors from those who went into the building. A total of 84 chellians have been killed by the terrorists.

Chellis will not stand for this! We must wipe out these terrorists, who have no love of the common chellian, who will do anything to further their goal. Chellis must band together today, to fight against these extremists!

With regret, I must inform the chellian people that a curfew is being enacted. The curfew is from 9pm to 7am, except for people who can get exceptions for their jobs, which can extend hours as needed. While this is indeed something we did not wish to do, it will help us in the following days, to track down the terrorists.

Citizens, I will personally keep you updated in the following days. We will hunt down the terrorists, and see that they get the full justice that they deserve!"

Kaoli stood there for a few seconds, as the screen went to black, then reverted to normal programming.

Aman stood their speechless. He couldn't believe this. He had to look at the video, and see just how things went down.
