Official Statement of President John Holtz of Holy Paradise to the entire Nationstates:

Ladies and gentlemen,

Palentology is an incredible area of scientific study. It is the offspring of history and prehistoric study, both of which are important to the world for their information on why we are the way we are, and what we did. Many great discoveries have come out of palentology: The idea we all come from Africa, information on formerly vague ancient civilizations...the list goes on and on. Holy Paradise now has in her possession another great artifact from the past.
Yesterday, Holy Paradisian scientists discovered a number of ancient scrolls and texts from a formerly unknown human civilization that lived here during the Angelic Era (c. 10,000,000 years ago - c. 9,000,000 years ago) This truly is important to history, and may change everything we knew about the Angelic civilization, especially the reason why they disappeared.
Therefore, I am personally inviting all palentologists, along with other scientists who have similar fields of study, to the Heavenly Hotel in Holy Paradise City. The scrolls are currently already on display, and the celebration has already begun, but we will be having this last 1 RL week at the most, 4 RL days at the least.

P.S. We apologize that there are no pictures of the scrolls included with this TG, but we do not want to damage the already worn and fragile texts.

OOC: Wait, wouldn't you be asked for archeologists and linguists? Isn't paleontology dinosaurs?

Sorry, at first I thought archeologists, but then I thought, maybe it palentology.

OOC: Anthropologists study cultures, I believe. So yeah, they would be here. But for digging up artifacts, definitely archeologists. And the linguists are so they can translate what they dig up.

Damn, wrong name too. This is my puppet.

OOC: According to my history culture, anthropologists study physical and cultural characteristics of hominids.

OOC: Well you'd still have archeologists. They're a given for digging up ancient civilizations. Anthropologists might serve as linguists as well.

Official Statement from the Holy Paradisian Historical and Prehistorical Institute:

Tests have shown that pictures would not damage the text, so here is just a part of one text. As you can see, the symbols on it seem to be an archaic form of English, especially the symbols that look like "a, b, c," and "d".

OOC: Actually, I've always thought that what makes a paleontologist is the study and digging of fossiles. The most famous fossiles are indeed those of dinosaurs, but those scientists who search other ancient, fossilated (sp?) animals and other forms of life are also paleontologists.

Such as these Angel-thingies. If their civilization disappeared 9,000,000 years ago their bodies would most certainly be fossiled (and there would hardly be any scrolls left, atleast no papyrus, pergament or paper scrolls, but that's a different question). So I do think paleontologists are indeed needed here, even though anthropologists and many other -logists are also needed.

These scrolls appear to have been made with both papyrus and stone. The scrolls we have found are just named scrolls because even though the texts we found were actually stone, we believe the original copies, although long gone, were papyrus scrolls. They are still very delicate however.

OOC: Indeed. Paleo = old, ontologist = one who studies bones. Oh, and the link is broken. I assume it's Enochian?

OOC: I got an 'impress your boss with your degree' ad. I'm assuming that's not what it's supposed to be...so I'm saying your link isn't working for me.
