The world was one that few in the last hundred centuries had laid eyes upon, let along land on. Those who had passed the system, let alone come near the planet, knew to stay clear; for fear unleashing the horror that was upon it’s dark and dust-storm covered surface. Even if those who knew of it only in passing stayed away and feared it, it was those who knew it’s darkest secrets, those hidden beneath a century’s depth of death and silence who were to be feared; for they did not fear, but accepted, what lay beneath the craggy surface of the dark planet.

The black encrusted transport lowered upon the surface of the planet Milios Secundus and landed before a large outcropping of yellow-mustard rock. Formations of carved columns and great arches, long past their ageless luster and sight of their artists, formed the outcrop. Like a massive dedication to a faith and cathedral that was host to ancient ghosts.

A ramp lowered from the transport and a long hatch opened. Dust and exhaust from the ship spewed forth, shadowing the entrance, red landing lights flashing. Several figures, airtight armored space suits on, carrying weapons came down the ramp.

“Atmospheric temperature nominal…it’s within our conditioning,” one figure said into a communications device.

“How about breathing air?” asked a voice back. The figure took out a small device, very simple in design. It had a series of symbols on it, archaic in design. The figure pressed in a combination of the symbols. For a moment it simply hummed and several small lights glowed red. Suddenly with a small inner chime a green light appeared.

“Breathable air is here…but not advisable. The sensor is picking up some anomalies. It could be toxic, maybe not enough to kill you right off, but it could cause long-term effects.”

“Irrelative, once we have the prize, we won’t need to worry about such things,” responded the mechanical voice. The figure nodded in response.

“Right, will you be joining us?”

“Momentarily sergeant.”

The device clicked and the line went dead. The sergeant looked up around at his team. With a quick series of gestures he had them fan out around the ship, one of the armored figures moved up to the nearest dark entrance and entered. In all the ten team members were ready.

With loud clanking footsteps another figure appeared down the ramp. He was a head taller than all the armored figures, and much broader. His great black cloak concealed intricate silver inlaid power armor, a large sword and bolt pistol in a large holster and belt. His face was covered in a black silken scarf; tide off to one side, allowing for only his bright glowing green eyes to show.

The armored sergeant saluted as the towering figure approached. The tall man nodded and looked at a small data slate he held in his hand. He looked at it closely for a short time and then hid it within his cloak. He turned to the dark entrance in the rock face and nodded to it.

“We’re going in.”

---

The tunnel through the rock was dark and filled with ancient dust. It was apparent very quickly from the offset that as the armored figures moved through the tunnel, they were the first to do so for a very long time.

The walls of the tunnel were engraved, carvings in a language long dead and forgotten. The large figure traced his hand across them as he passed, his eyes hooded and intense. He read them with his mind, tracing their meaning through a century’s gained knowledge. It was close.

---

The scout moved into a large antechamber. It was large, and only the dim light of his flashlight allowed him to see. “Sarge…larger room up here. No contact.”

“Any more passages?” came a hazy reply.

The scout moved around, finding the extent of the walls around the chamber. They were even more intricately carved than the tunnel walls. The floor of the tunnels had been covered in a thick layer of untouched dust, the floor of the chamber was clean, almost as smooth as marble.

Suddenly the light of the scout’s flashlight fell on a dark surface. It was a door. It was more than two meters tall, and nearly as wide. Entirely made of a dark obsidian stone.

“There’s a door,” the scout said into his comm.

“Stay put, we’ll be there soon.”

The party of armored figures moved into the chamber; the tall, cloaked figure moved forward without waiting to the door. He pressed his palm against its surface and moved it across slowly. Closing his eyes he concentrated.

The temperature of the chamber dropped as if a chamber had been exposed to a glacier. A burning acidic smells rose into the air. The hair on the back of the sergeant’s neck rose, tingling with an electric feel. He turned to the tall figure and stared. The tall man was glowing a faint blue. The faint blue light was spreading across the obsidian door.

The sergeant moved forward. “Inquisitor?”

The towering Inquisitor turned. His eyes where entirely chalk white. When he opened his mouth steam came forth.

“Beyond…the Glyph of the Ancients…waiting…silent observer, a watcher in the shadows…waiting.” The voice of Inquisitor Graham was like gravel being grinded into dust. His words did not match the movement of his mouth.

Suddenly Graham fell to his knees, convulsing. The sergeant stepped forward but did not dare to touch the kneeling man. Within moments the tall Inquisitor rose back to standing. His eyes had returned to their usual bright green and the blue light faded. The temperature rose again, returning to normal.

“Sergeant, do you remember what I said?” asked Graham.

“Yes Inquisitor.”

“Good, because I just opened the doors.”

Behind Graham the large obsidian doors cracked at their seams. As if giant hands were pushing, the wide doors cracked open. Without a word the scout and other armored figures moved forward. The sergeant and Inquisitor Graham followed.

---

Within was another chamber. Tall silent statues of strange creatures lined the walls. Like an in-winding seashell, stairs going down, more than thirty meters below was a large dais. It was made of the same obsidian black as the doors behind the team.

But it was not the room, nor the other strange contraptions around it that held Inquisitor Graham’s attention; it was what was sitting on the dais: larger than a man’s fist, glowing with it’s own inner power was a large purple crystalline gem.

“We’ve found it…” whispered Graham.

Several of the armored figures moved around, checking crevices and looking for any sign of retaliation at entering this seemingly holy sanctum. One man moved to a large central statue. It was a tall one, nearly a head taller than the Inquisitor, shaped into the formation of an armored figure, like a silent sentinel of lost ages, an armored knight.

“Anything?” asked the sergeant.

“Negative sir, it seems that the room is emp-,” the words of the sergeant’s adjutant suddenly were cut off. A large shadow had extended from the wall and engulfed the man. He kicked and punched, screaming at the top of his voice. An unearthly sound of squealing and grinding teeth sounded as the man disappeared within the shadow.

The armored figures turned and fired their weapons, sending fiery flashes of death into the dark place.

With another loud ethereal roar the shadow reappeared along another crevice wall, engulfing another two armored men. One was killed instantly, the other got off a mass of bursts from his lasgun before being engulfed.

The sergeant couldn’t get his men under control. They began firing at sporadic spots, caring only to hopefully hit a target. The shadow engulfed them one by one, until at last only the sergeant and the Inquisitor were left.

“What the frak is that thing?” asked the sergeant.

“The guardian,” said Inquisitor Graham in a matter of fact voice.

Suddenly the shadow reappeared over the Inquisitor and the sergeant. It roared and came down in a wave before them. With inhuman speed the inquisitor drew his sword, a long silver blade, and brought it into a large slash into the shadow. It hit something. With a yell in a language that caused the sergeants ears to hurt and nose to bleed, the inquisitor sent a large spasm of blue lighting up the length of blade and into the shadow.

With a roar the shadow dispersed. A large inhuman and very dead form fell to the floor before them. It was as if three men had been melded together by an insane doctor, as if with more body parts it would be a better creation. However the head was slit down the middle, revealing green blood and internal organs that did not match its appearance.

“One ugly piece of shit,” commented the sergeant.

“Indeed,” said Inquisitor Graham. He turned and without pretext jumped over the edge into the pit. He landed easily, the thirty-meter depth having little effect. He walked forward and looked at the crystal.

“The Glyph of the Ancients…,” he said quietly to himself. “Beautiful.”

The sergeant came down the conventional way, via the steps and walked up next to the inquisitor. He took off his helmet and revealed a shaven head that was covered in battle scars and a plain grim face, the nose at an odd angle as if it had been broken on more than once occasion.

“So this is it?”

“Indeed. Now…I will have the power of gods,” said Inquisitor Graham. He walked forward and took hold of the gem. It glowed bright as it’s new master held it. Bright energies swirled around the dais and then without warning exploded upwards, like a stream of never ending purple light. It rose through the chamber and up through the ventilation, extending even into the skies.

Graham turned and the sergeant saw that his eyes were now a fiery red, entirely red.

“Now…I will rule.”

Waiting in space like a orbital cathedral, with tall spires reaching to the stars, was the battle cruiser Antioch. Lord Captain Hereticus had been ordered by Inquisitor Graham to await until he returned, but that made his job none the more easier with three Guard regiments on board and in tight confined quarters.

Already several fights had issued forth from the men and women of the 8th Valcadian Rifles and the 34th Lorin Patricians. It was enough to make any fleet officer wish he could open the air lock and send the unruly cargo out to the space.

Hereticus sipped his evening tanna leaf tea while sitting in his command chair. Ship servitors and crewmembers shifted below his high podium of command and worked the controls. Tech priests issued forth mumbles of prayers and the air was stuffy with insence and oil residue.

Suddenly a servitor, the observation controller, turned in his chair.

"Lord Captain, we have sighted an anomali coming from the planet's surface. It is a great beam of vermillion light," said the heavily augumented voice of the observer.

Lord Captain Hereticus nodded. "Pay it no heed, continue your regular scanning."

Inquisitor Graham had forewarned Hereticus that strange lights or tremors might come from the planet, and that he was to ignore them as well. And to say none the least, Lord Captain Hereticus was happy to do that; after all, who wanted to mingle with the affairs of a psyker inquisitor?

Elrad the Ranger they called him, and they paid him no heed as he walked along the strange pathways of the webway. He had seen in the runes what would happen, seen the rise of a great tyrant like that of which had never been seen before and he wished to avoid such an occurance.

Elrad bore alligance to no person, man or Eldar, and so he had a free hand to work his fate, aware of the distruction that evil would wrought should it rise again. Elrad was one of the few that ahd seen the Fall, the rise of the Imperium and the Horus Heresty. To his knowlage only one other person still survived from that time-his former comrade, the Emporer.

But the Emporer was long gone, not dead but not living either his battered mind only just influencing reality and so now it stood to Elrad to attempt to maintain the balance of power in the galexy. Unlike the Emporer Elrad had alway understood that Chaos could never be defeated or bnished and that it's poiwer could only deminish or rise. It would never disappear entirly and once you thought it gone it would return-as his people had found out.

Eldrad also had somthing of great power, something that men would kill to gain. But then there was very little men wouldn't kill to gain, money, women power. All of those regually where causes of the deaths of innocents. But the devise Elrad held was even more valuable than that. it was a devise that had once been huge but had changed itself into a small version. It was a STC machine. The last in the galexy.

So now this, man? Eldar? Thing? stepped out of the webways capillarys into a new world, one of the few had never visited before. He had known of it of course but never dared bring attention to it by visiting it himself. But it seemed now that humans had discovered it secret and he must protect it.

"It appears the humanoids have discovered yet another method of destruction. We must stop them from capturing it before it is too late."

"Send any of our investigators in the area. We will not risk any race becoming potentially more destructive, especially not those humanoids. The artifact must be destroyed, and fast."

"It is too far away to make a quick response, and the only investigators in the area at the moment are Terz and Itzc. They will be sent to intervene as soon as possible."

This telepathic conversation between members of the Hive Council was brought out soon afterwards, with a message going out to Terz and Itzc. The two of them would get an unpleasant suprise soon, in the form of an order to find and destroy this artifact. Wether they would succeed or not was still questionable, but it was sure that they would do anything in their power to fulfill their task, even if it meant their own deaths.

*-*36 Terran hours later*-*

"Itzc, how far away are you now? Something is happening on the planet's surface. The humanoids appear to have activated the artifact already."

"That is a bad thing, we are too late to stop them now. Land on the planet when you can and try to stay undetected. I will follow behind you. Now we must re-capture and destroy the artifact before they unlock all of its power."

Terz started approaching the planet in his Investigation Pod, staying at the other side of the planet for now. He and Itzc were still feeling the effects of several months of hibernation, making him less aware than usual. But he was still highly aware of the importance of this task. If the two of them failed, the humanoids would be able to start using this new weapon against the rest of the universe, which included the Satyrian race.

It wouldn't be long untill Itzc's arrival. Then Terz and him would move closer to the ruins, and await the humanoids to come out. They would try to convince the humanoids to destroy the crystal themselves at first, but if that didn't work - which would be likely with those humanoids - other, more violent, methods would have to be used. But no matter how, when, or by whom it would happen, the crystal would be destroyed in the end.

The warship existed Warp Space with relative ease, the storms that had marked it previously before reaching the accursed planet had worried the Captain, but it seemed as if the good Inquisitor Graham, may his name be praised and live forever, was watching over them. Lord Captain Hereticus was feeling very content now that his Lord had accomplished his mission. Now all was left was to get back home, where they could spread the news and joy of a new Emperor and leader. High Lord Inquisitor-Emperor Gramicus, as now was called.

The three regiments aboard, which had been troublesome before the trip now seemed almost passive, their duty to the High Lord now clear to them, a new vision of a new Imperium that they would help create.

Already that new vision was to be created, as the Antioch pulled into orbit over the hive world Practeus Prime. Over three trillion souls lived upon the levels of industry and megalith buildings, towering as giants over a population of humbled spirits, misguided by their faulting faith in the God-Emperor.

“We will show them the Light,” said Lord Captain Hereticus to himself. Already several nearby Imperial Fleet ships, two cruisers and a frigate were nearby. Hereticus had been ordered to bring their captains aboard the Antioch with orders marked with the Inquisitorial Seal.

- - -

Graham stood before a large mirror in his new staterooms aboard the Antioch. With some small slight changes to his black-silver power armor Graham had managed to set the Ancients Glyph into his chest plate, touching both his bare chest and shining out for all his subjects to see. His entire body was radiating power. Over the few short days that he had experimented with the new crystal jewel, the more he changed. First it was his body, his muscles growing to such a size that he was sure he could topple any Astartes marine with ease. His eyesight and hearing had expanded greatly, as had his mind.

His mind was now capable of lightning quick calculations and memorization, he could almost shift matter around with just a thought.

But even through all this new power he was still straining with it, trying to become stronger; he was still frail, too human to yet be able to truly wield the Glyph in such a way that matched his new title of High Lord Inquisitor-Emperor.

“Things will change quickly…and I will become stronger,” he told his image. The eyes, entirely red now without any iris glared back with a sinister pleasure.

- - -

“My Lord, I present to you Captains Guineas and Armora; as well as High Lieutenant Jezebel. They are the commanders of the Tremendous, the Path Lighter and the Pride of Immortals,” introduced Captain Hereticus.

In the newly renovated conference room, which was now a veritable throne room, the captains and commanders of the other Fleet ships in orbit stood in awe of Graham. Graham sat in his newly carved black obsidian stone and wore a great silver cape shrouding his shoulders.

With quiet ease Graham reached out his hand and touched the minds of the officers. Without even attempting to struggle they stood still and without offering resistance. The Glyph upon his chest burning, Graham twisted their minds. All thoughts of the God-Emperor forsaken, and his new dream and vision replaced it. Total devotion was also put into their minds.

When he put his hand down all three of them fell to their feet.

“Lord!” they muttered. “Save our souls!”

Graham smiled, his skull-like face revealing a severe smirk.

“All in good time. Now I wish to go aboard each of your ships to inspect them and you crew…”

“Of course Lord,” they muttered, faces still to the floor.

“Rise, and we shall go.”

- - -

It took only a short five hours before all three ships orbiting alongside the Antioch were fully shown the Light. Hereticus, who came with Lord High Inquisitor-Emperor Gramicus was smiling happily as each new member came to know true faith.

Contact with the ground showed that there were several high commanding Imperial Guard officers waiting below.

From the orders of Graham, all ten regiments and the General Cain were to be assembled at the landing space port, in a wide area where the Lord High Inquisitor-Emperor could over see them all, and bring them to the true light.

Hereticus laughed gleefully to himself and went back to running his ship and ordered that the Emperor’s transport be ready within the hour for landing upon the hive world; a first step in a great campaign of revelation.

Elrad emerged from the webway into total darkness. It had been a squeeze navagating down the smallest of capillarys to try and emerge into the universe onboard the enermys ship, to do such a thing you needed experience and an intricate knowlage of the webway. Fortuntly Elrad had both in droves, he was probably the only living being that could do such a thing.

He reached out into the darkness, but his hands met solid wood immidetly, shuffling round silently he touched the back and the sides-he was in some sort of large wooden rectangle. Feeling the back, he found a little groove down the centre-a door. He pushed but found that the sood woudln't yeild. The groove let a tiny glint of light into his cage, he stared through it and smiled at what he saw.

It was Imperial Guardmans quaters. An officers quaters to be exact, and the offcier in question was sitting directly oppersate him, his back to the cuboard. His laspistol was on the bed next to him, a sword proped up against a table. Elrad glanced down and saw the lcok on the cuboard-a lcok against what? The Cuboard was empty, whatever was it's contence now distroyed by Elrads feet.

Eldrad pulled his pistol out, silently, and aimed carefully at the lock, the pistol gave a silent retort and the wirring blade cut through the lock and curied itself in the floor. The buboard swung open with a groan that amde Elrad wince. The officer heard the groan a turned, saw Elrad, reached for his laspistol and opened his mouth to shout. It was the Elrad shot him, a single shrunken through the throat throwing the unlucky man back.

Blood frothed out of the mans mouth and onto the floor as his killer stepped forward onto the floor of the starship. In the siatnce elrad could hear the ships engine working, closer to home he could hear the tramp of boot nearby.

Elrad ran over to the mans body and seached it, pulling out the mans ID card-which he copied using a machine the STC had designed which took the information about the card and created one that suited Elrad. Then he took the mans money and breifly consdiered wearing the bloodstained uniform. Instead he made for another cuboard and pulled out another uniform-the man had three.

he changed, keeping his armour and underneath. it made him look slightly bigger than an ordanry Imperial Guardsman but his victim had been a nig man anyway for the uniform just about fitted. Placing his Strunkens in the pockets where a laspistol is supposed to go Elrad left the room.

After Itzc's arrival, he too descended to the surface of the planet. Terz had been waiting there already, and after the humanoids had left, he had moved closer to the ruïns. He hadn't gone in yet, they would do that together. During his waiting, he had contacted the Hive Council, informing them that he and Itzc had come too late to stop the humanoids from stealing the artifact. It hadn't been a pleasant conversation, as it was now their fault a humanoid had gotten away with more power than it should ever possess.

The council had declared that they were to investigate the ruïned cathedral for any signs of the humanoids unlocking the true power of the artifact. After that, they had to track down the humanoids to their current location, where they would attempt again to destroy the artifact. If they ran into severe problems during all this, aid could be sent, but it would take a while to arrive.

When Itzc finally got down to the planet's surface too and joined up with Terz, they continued towards the ruïned cathedral. The footprints of the humanoids were stil there, leading towards the entrance of the complex. It was clear a group of those humanoids had gone in, while only a few had come out of it again.

"Those humanoids must have done quite some effort to get the artifact, a pity we will have to take it away from them." Terz spoke.

"Perhaps, but that shouldn't become a problem. I'm sure we can 'convince' them to coöperate somehow." was Itzc's response.

The pair of them went inside through the dark tunnel. Although they couldn't read what was written on the walls - neither of them were great linguistics - both of them, especially Itzc felt there had been a large psychic force around here not too long ago. It was an unnerving thought, as apparantly the humanoids did have access to atleast some of the crystal's power...

"Cast it again" Ezekial's voice echoed about the blind astropath, as uncertain hands gripped the tarot. An ancient thing; a ghastly thing; almost like the very books of Destiny itself. Blood pooled in ritual circles about the scryer, and he whispered with his split tongue; hissing and seething, reaching out to take the first card and reveal its face.

"Yesss..." It hissed. "Yesss....Death, Death and Change upon the universe; a power. Power from blackest history; a power to corrupt the pure and undo order. A power rooted in damnation and self-righteous fury. A zealots fire to burn within."

"More."

"You shall seek it out; Ezekial; Lord Inquisitor. And glory shall be yours on the edge of a knife; power shall be yours, provided you strike as the serpent. Provided you fight without mercy; without fear. Without shame."

"Is there any other way, Astropath? You know my methods..."

"Aye; and by a bloodied hand shall you embrace destruction and madness."

"Show me where..."

"All in good time, Inquisitor, all in good time. Make your preperations; ready your forces..."

Elrad stepped out of the room into a corrador. No one glanced at him and he stepped forwards, attempting to look inconspicuious. He managed it, peoples gazes seemed to pass over him, as though he didn't exist. A few achnolaged his prescence but none really noticed him. Such is the gift of a psycha (SP).

It wouldn't work, of course, on strong minds. A Space MAriens would see straight through the flimsy disguise, but for these lowly men te power worked. Slowly Elrad worked his way up the ship, inventing imaginary orders to let hismelf get towards the bridge. That would be where the abomination would be-he was sure of it.

But the flickerings of the Inquistitors prescence didn't seem to appear on Elrads minds eye. The devise would have greated echos in warp space for miles around-or so Elrad would have thought. He couldn't have got the wrong ship, could he?

Sighing Eldrad disguarded the mans clothes and rentered the Webway, making his way towards the main arterys again. Odviously this would be harder than he thought, he might just need help.

Elrad looked for other psychic anomolies out there. Tehre where very, very few big enough to challnge the might of this Inquisitor. He didn't want to use the Imeprium-he had a price upon his head with them and the Eldar where too far away to be of aid. That left three fractions that could help him.

Necrons. Never.

A Hive Fleet, even Elrad was not brave enough to go to these creatures for aid. if they didn't kill him then they would feed upon the galexy with the power that the Glyph gave them, and he could not let that happen.

That left the rebel Space Marines, thsoe that served the other side of Human nature. They where not the most desirable accumplices, but it seemed that Elrad had little choice. They where intellagent beings, they didn't want to kill him-yet- and they might just have the power to stop this madness before it destroyed the galexy.

Elrad rentered the Webway and went in seach of the correct outlet.

Aloura wakes from her sleep as a great pychic power is unleashed waking her from her slumber. The capableities of this is so massive that she becomes worried. Leaning to the side Aloura hits a com and and speaks into it,
"Tusanco, I want you and your best stealth team to assemble in the main palace in one standard hour."

Aloura stands as she begins to assemble her things, reaching down she grabs her daemonic blades, their handles recently rewrapped in the flesh of a rogue bloodletter she slayed on an offworld mission. Her old combi bolter, a standard bolter modified to also shoot grenades, along with small claw like blades lining the top of the weapon.

"I must find the source of this immence power and control it." Aloura states as she heads out to meet the team.

When they got deeper and deeper into the tunnels, Itzc and Terz were starting to feel more and more of the psychic presence around. For Terz it was also becoming more and more painful each step, the presence slowly eating away at his mind. Itzc didn't have this problem because he was gifted with psychic powers himself.

"I can't go further, the presence is killing me." said Terz, who was now almost fainting from the sheer pain in his head. Itzc responded by saying he would continue on his own, letting Terz return to the surface. It wasn't a good thing to be down there alone, but if Terz died, he'd be on his own anyway. So he continued through the tunnels, and through the obsidian door, going deeper and deeper into the cathedral.

After the door, he encountered several old traps. Most of them were rusted beyond repair and didn't work anymore, but there were some that were still armed after all those ages. Although they were all simple in design, they were still dangerous, forcing Itzc to be careful and slow down to avoid being impaled, crushed, or killed in other ways by the ancient traps.

Not much later, he finally left behind the dark tunnel and it's traps, and enterd the round chamber. He could already tell that the artifact was really gone, but he still went down there to look for clues. Ignoring the corpses of the humans and the guardian lying around, he started reading the description of the artifact engraved on the small pillar it had once stood on. When he finished, he smashed the remainder of the pillar in anger. Anger aimed at the humanoids for stealing it, and aimed at himself for not getting here sooner.

Immediatly he left the room again, not wanting to waste any more time at this dead place while the humanoids were possibly terrorising a galaxy. He ignored the remaining traps and ran back to the surface through the tunnel. But close to the end of it, he saw a large shape lying on the ground. It was Terz, and he was lying there dead, his mind consumed by the psychic presence around here. Despite his fallen colleague, Itzc went on, knowing that his task was now more important than performing rites on Terz's dead body.

Sergeant John Bray stood silently at the head of his squad, listening to the Inquisitor's words with less fervor than usual. This posting wasn't a choice one, he'd been torn from his place with the 707th Elite Operations Group, a Kasarkin unit attatched to the Deathwraith Space Marine Chapter, to a posting with the 8th Valcadian Rifles. Bray was less than pleased, but duty dictated that he serve his Emperor where-ever he was directed to serve.

The Imperial Guard had been a long-standing tradition with his family, his father having served in the 412th's campaigns against Chaos in the coldest reaches of space. He himself had never had the honor of fighting under the 412's banner, but the 707th had been and up-and-coming elite unit he'd been proud to serve under. As a Kasarkin, he'd had access to a sweet rapid-fire lasgun, now all he had for survival was a second-class power sword and the standard-issue laspistol that everything other than the Guardsmen themselves carried, not that their lasrifle was much of an improvement.

The 8th Valcadian was nothing stellar, and he often wondered why he'd been transferred. Whispers of heresey in the ranks of the Deathwraiths might have been the cause, but if that were the case then he'd have been executed by a Commisar during their last battle, fighting Orks on some nameless outlying world he'd never like to visit again. His best guess was that the unit needed solid non-comissioned officers, and by the Emperor's will they had transferred one to the unit...

The metropolis that made up the large cities Practeus Prime were a swirl of energy and storms of black smog clouds created by the factoria of the Machine-God. Where once they were constantly being blessed in the name of Mechination they now cried out "Gramicus!".

The population, legion vast, were all waiting; standing among the streets and by-ways; foot paths and high liners blocked full of people. And each was staring at the image on the large pict screens located all around the city.

"My Loyal servants!" cried a powerful voice, charismatic to a fault. "You are starting on the road to glory!" The image was a man, tall in black-silver armor. A great red cloak over his shoulders, a shining red crystal (http://ist-socrates.berkeley.edu/~eps2/wisc/jpeg/l8s12.jpeg) set in his chest.

"You will be the first of a new Empire! One that shall stretch from here to eternity!" Suddenly citizens cheered. All thoughts of past alligiences forgotten. Imperial Guard, PDF and Arbites units across the city roared with approval as well. It seemed as if the Inquisitor-Emperor was looking at each one, as if they alone were special to Him.

"You are all loyal to me and my dream! We shall destroy the Imperium that was created by a broken man! A man! Not a God! For if he was, I would challenge him to step down from his Golden Throne and challenge me!"

For a moment all those with a flicker of self-awareness in their minds faultered. A rumble of small chatter among the masses. It was if the entire planet had held it's breathe.

But nothing happened.

The tall armored man smiled. "You see? Even now, I am beyond him!"

A cry went up from the masses, swirling like a storm of crows announcing the time was ripe to feast on the dead. "Gramicus!Gramicus! Gramicus! Gramicus!"

Inquisitor Graham smiled from his vantage point. He stood, hundred of pict cameras around him. His officers stood nearby in a tight pack, watching, some falling to their knees and humbling themselves before a true god. Graham halted his use of the power; feeling drained as he had not before.

Using his manipulative power was usually not so straining, but for him to use it on the population of Practeus Prime had required nearly all his will power. He felt weak even. Cursing himself and the crystal he stepped down from the podium. He ignored the Guard officers and walked into a side door of a large Palace.

It had once been the occupation house of the Plantary Governor. Now it served Graham as his temporary Imperial Palace.

Three hulking figures, space marines by their size and armor, stood nearby. Graham searched out quickly their names with his mind.

"Panzik, did you wish to speak with me?"

Elrad emerged, seeming to appear from nowehre onto the remains of an old crone world, now contolled by the servents of The Changer of Ways. Fortuntly they hadn't yet found his peoples aincent weapons of distruction hidden under the planets surface.

He stepped forwards, reambering how this world ocne had been, full of life and the Eldar, now dead and lifless. Slowly he made his way towards the nearest Marine outpost, his rune armour adn Eldar weapons marking him out as one of the Firstborn. Even as the mariens noticeed his prescence he shot one through the throat, then another each time with unerring accuracy.

Then came the counter attack as the marines leader leapt into action. The man fired his bolter with all his might but every shot was turned aside by the runes without a scratch or dint. The Marine, seeing his weapons not working and the Eldar continuing to walk towards him attacked, drawing his sword back and lungling at the thin attacker.

In a flash Eldrad drew his own blade, humming with power that had not been matched for a hundred thousand years. This sword had been amde by Vaul himself, a gift during the great war so many years ago and now it broke the cheap balde opf the marine with a single stroke. As his blades end fell to the ground the Marine stared at his attacker adn attempted to attack with his gloved fists.

Elrad ignored these and stepped forward, grabbing the marine by the throat and hoisting him boderly off the floor. "I am Elrad the Ranger, servent of no man and I hold your life in the palm of my hand. I have a message for your leader. Take me too him, now."

"The humanoids have taken the artifact away from the planet, and there are signs that atleast one of them has access to part of its powers. We must track them down and stop them before it is too late. Terz has fallen to the psychic presence in the tunnels, and more Investigators are needed."

After leaving the tunnel, Itzc had wasted no time and contacted the High Council again, informing them of their failure in stopping the humanoids. He was now on his way to his Pod again while mentally 'talking' with the Council about the plans for the retrieval of the artifact.

"Six other Investigators have been re-routed to follow the humanoid trails. All of you will meet eachother at the trails and then continue to the location of the crystal. Do not fail again, or suffer the consequences. Terz will not be lost for no reason. Now go!"

From the threat and general harshness of the Council, Itzc understood that they took this theft seriously. He ran towards Terz's Pod and activated the Auto-Pilot, plotting a course back to Satyria for the empty ship. When he was sure it was gone, he went to his own Pod, starting his journey towards the other Investigators. Following a large humanoid vessel around wouldn't too hard, especially not one which was carrying around a gigantic psychic force. Surviving that force when they found it would be something entirely different, and then there were the humanoids themselves around. It was unlikely they would cooperate...

Neth Qhaysh'y-Tzeendhaos contemplated his history as the water of the hot spring was soaked into his feathers, granting them a healthy sheen. He had once possessed a human name in the days when he served Magnus the Red, and followed the creeds of the false emperor. But that was many aeons ago, and Tzeentch had rewarded him for his faith.
After he dried himself, he donned his ancient power armor, smiling as the tendrils of its interface wormed into the sockets along his spine. He donned his heavily adorned helm last, and as he twisted its seal shut, its third eye snapped open, and revealed to him somthing that was yet to come.

One of the ancients shall come to see me, bringing news... He shall receive the welcome he is due. He turned to his men, bodyless souls imprisoned in their armor by the Rubric of Arhiman, in which he had taken part in casting, as he grinned, and grabbed his clips of Infermo Bolts and his staff, older than even he. We have much preparing to do, go and tell Leth Chamon to meet me in the librarium. And prepare some food, as our guest is sure to be hungryI

Elrad followed the wreched Thousand Son Marine through the wilderness of this abandoned world. He held his glowing sword to the mans back, trying to see over the mans tall helmet. Eldrad was tall for any race-human or Eldar but even he could barley see over the mans helm.

He kenw the man was Thousand Son from the mans armour, he also knew that, should he kill the man he would find little more than air inside it's casing. That was the Thousand Sons gift-and there curse.

Finally they approched the main building of the marines.

Sergeant Bray's troops rose from their knees, some having to steady themselves on their rifles...

"Get up you weak bastards! The Inquisitor's speech is over, now let's hoof it back to the barracks before Commisar Hatwk comes looking for us..."

Bray hated Commisars as a rule, more of an aquired feeling than something he'd been born with. After watching hundreds fall from laspistol shots to the head, roughly half of what the Orks themselves slew, he'd begun to exercise suspicion. Cowards deserved to die, that was a given. When random Guardsmen were being killed for no reason, there had to be a line drawn...

'Graham's words were pure heresey... From an Inquisitor, no less... He hasn't been quite the same since he started wearing that artifact he brought back from his little excursion off-world...'

The Sergeant mulled these thoughts about in his head as he and his troops marched back to their barracks...

Graham collected his thoughts and before the Chaos Space Marine could reply turned on his heel. He waved a hand behind and motioned for the trio to follow him. Graham took off his red cloak and let it fall to the floor. A nearby servitor, a palace servant, came forward and picked it up. It quickly skittered out of the way as the towering space marines walked by as well.

Entering through laquered wooden doors Graham came to the Throne Room. It had once been adorned with great tapestries showing the God-Emperor of the Imperium. Graham had had them burned. Now the hall had tall tapestries made of black silk, a single red-ruby stylized 'G' in the center.

Graham walked to the end of the hall to where a dias with a throne on it was. Quickly seating himself he became more comfortable and looked at each of the Chaos Space Marines. He studied them, enjoying the pleasure to see for once the Imperiums greatest warriors, ones that had declared the same Imperium false and believe in new alliegiances.

"Well?" asked Graham. "If you are intending to join my services then do so now. Abase yourselves."

The humanoid trails weren't hard to follow through the emptyness of space. The crystal itself was almost a psychic beacon, leaving behind a noticable trail whereever it had passed. Itzc and the others were now on their way to the humanoid planet, where they would try to locate the artifact and it's users.

When they eventually halted at the edge of the system, they were unpleasantly suprised to see where they had arrived. In front of them was an Imperial planet, its surface covered in factories and other buildings, and its skies filled with toxic smog.

"This will not be an easy task." Kriz remarked. He had noticed the highly industrious world, and all of them were sure it could only produce one thing; weapons. Weapons with which they would spread their terror throughout the universe, and with which they would protect the stolen artifact.

They decided not to go there themselves, as taking on an entire planet of humanoids would be suicide, despite their genetical advantage. Instead they would need an army here, one big enough to survive the planets defences untill the artifact was recovered or destroyed. It would take several days if not weeks before such an army could arrive here, and even then it would remain doubtful if the artifact could be taken from the humanoids. By now, atleast one of them should have unlocked most of its powers, making that humanoid a true danger.

*-*-*Meanwhile, on the Deadworld*-*-*

At the entrance of the tunnel, there lay a blue pool of blood, Terz's blood. But there was no longer a body there, just the pool, and a bloody trail leading into the darkness. From that darkness, one could hear a creature devouring the corpses of the dead humanoid party. And from that darkness, four red eyes are staring at all who dare to enter...

The table was set with delacacies from all over the Imperium, and some from beyond its limits. Enough to feed at least 500 men, though today only twenty seven ate. Helmets removed, the sorcerers would have frightened many mere mortals with their ecclectic appearances, as their array of beaks and claws delicately ravaged their exquisite fare. However, acknowledging the slight to his pride would result in a battle of epic proportions, and even if he won, the losses would be much to great to withstand.

"Rise."

As one the Chaos Space Marines stood. Their three-meter height impressive. Their ornate armour even more so. Graham was pleased.

"How many other of your Battle-Brothers are here? I have gained a group of the World Eaters Legion, but you show impressive fire-power. I have need of more powerful troops. The Guard are not the only ones that I can count on," said Graham.

Graham's power was quickly returning. He had now the loyalty of some 40,000 Imperial Guard, several thousand World Eaters Space Marines, and now this new group. His private army was growing. And then there was the populace of Practeus Prime. Already the manufactoria and Adminitratum buildings were being converted to his liking. Materials of war being built as he spoke.

But being an Inquisitor, Graham knew that it would not be long before some Lord of the Inquisition came calling. The only question was would it be the Ordo Assissinorium or the Ordo Hereticus.

Itzc was standing in his Pod, looking at the planets of the system below him. The other investigators had returned to their normal paths again, leaving him the only one here untill the fleet would be sent. He had no choice but to stay here and watch the situation for now. It was an annoying thing, being able to almost litteraly feel the artifact down there, and seeing the planet it was on, but not being able to do anything about it.

*-*-*Meanwhile, at the Satyrian High Council*-*-*

"The Investigators have requested military support to force access to the humanoid planet where the stolen artifact is currently located."

"The Council approves of these actions. Prepare five Battleships and three Carriers. When the attack is properly executed, the troops will land in the area around the artifact, making long fights unneccesary. When on the surface, let our troops fight their way to the artifact and destroy it. Let Itzc lead the offense, he owns us his live and we will use it well."

Orders were sent out to prepare the mentioned ships, and to ready the small 'invasion' force. Within several days, the fleet would set off to the humanoid planet, and then it would be only a matter of time before the artifact would be destroyed. Unfortunately, the great distance between the planets meant that the humanoids had plenty of time to relocate the artifact, and that there was also a lot of time in which other species could intervene.

An Inquisition Black Ship from the Ordo Malleus arrived in the system but it's purpose was not to engage in combat nor fight the evils of daemonhood but to learn about the new god which their allies now worshipped. Ironically Inquisition Lord Falcor the leader of the Ordo Malleus was there to see over this matter personally. He cracked a wry smile as his dark vessel slid through space like a blade with no chance of anyone finding them out. Lord Falcor was known for his cunning and ruthlessness in battle and his warriors were known for the same. True enough he was human but he had years of experience and training behind him on his Black Ship. The Legions aboard his vessel included elements from the Grey Knights, Psi-Lords, Daemonslayers, and the Warpslayers. He stood a chance of losing if it came to a fight but that was not what he was here for at least not yet. As High Lord Inquisitor of the Ordo Malleus his flagship, Dragon Fang, was far larger than those used by other lesser Inquisitors for it was more likely he would need to carry a larger retinue. He looked at the screen in front of him as he saw the Rekenian vessels and ordered all stop to the vessel as it hung there softly in space watching and waiting full sensors going.

They also make good targets when their backs are to me and their faces on the front. Panzik would have spit if her were not in such and illustrious presence.

'I am The Father of The Plasma Brothers, when Horus died, I sorted through all the leagions for the most dedicated and skilled in plasma weaponry. They are a legion of my own, Lord. Many thousands, spread across the galaxy, who will fight for you at my whim. I have 1,500 that would destroy for you, this very second of you so wished it. We have long ranged plasma cannons, plasma guns and assault squads with plasma pistols and power weapons, though they come in more... limited numbers.

'My Great Lord, what would you have of us?' Even when he bowed his head, Panzik towered over the Inquisitor, yet he pulsed energy and radiated streagnth. By the jewel or charisma, Panzik was humbly in Graham's service.

Inquisitor Lord Falcor looked out as he watched intel collected from the planet. He saw it dut didn't believe it the appeaed to have been a working Imperium nation that survived after the fall but now something had happened. This Inquisitor.........Graham had called to his people to worship him as they did once the God-Emperor and claimed to be stronger than Him. He turned around and looked at Captain Heltor of the Grey knights and smiled saying, "Captain ready your men it appears we may have to get involved with this conflict after all." He then opened a comm in his power armor and said, "Peras Could you please come to the bridge?" A dark brooding voice came back, "Yes High Lord I will be there shortly."

Suddenly a warp portal appeared on the bridge and Peras stepped through with the device on his wrist glowing with psychic energy he smiled at the minature Warp portal generator procured by the Ordo Xenos for use by his Legion. It was said the technology was glaeamed off the recovered technologies of Warp Spiders. His shining gold and purple artificer armor and his shaved head gleamed in the artificial lighting. He had agreed to come with this company at the request of the high Lord Inquisitor. This was their first deployment with the Ordo Malleus and as he was told they were needed for this campaign. The High Lord had always been a seer of visions and thusly it didn't surprise Peras that he was actually needed for this battle when the Inquisitor had told him as such. He bowed and spoke, "I sense a great power emanating from the surface. A terrible power reminiscient of Eldar. Maybe we will need to call in the Thunder Hammer Legion or the Deathwatch."

Falcor looked at him and said, "You may be right however let us wait to call in the Ordo Xenos till we have to. For now though your Legion is versed enough to fight them I would say. Plus it seems more a Chaos taint than anything else." The Inquisitor looked to his side where his Death Cultist, Lindi, stood watching him carefully waiting for his command. He smiled drawing his Force Sword and told Peras, "I guess you will have to go find out what this is about. Take a Shadow Chaser from the bay and choose some of your men as well take Captain Recos of the Warpslayers and then exit the vessel and request an audience with the Inquisitor find out as much as you can. If possible find some loyalists on the surface."

Moments later Peras and his contingent of 12 Marines rode in their Shadow Chaser to the capitol where they landed on the landing pad near the Palace. He stepped down the ramp and looked around at his surroundings after sending a message through the vox unit in his armor requesting to speak with this.........Inquisitor. Captain Recos had brought his honor guard of five Marines and Peras had brought a contingent of six Marines to assisst him.

Graham smiled as he read the thoughts of the Chaos Marine in front of him. He knew that the different powers of Chaos, foolish beings devoted to their own special vices, would not be above stabbing each other in the back.

"Your service is welcome, and as my servant those who are your fellows are now equal to you. I'll not have my army disrupted by petty hatreds. Now go. I wish you to wait in the ajoining room," said Graham.

His full strength had returned, the rest being welcome. The Marines bowed and left.

Graham searched out with his minds eye. A transport...Space Marines...a mission..."What are their objectives?" Graham asked himself.

A officer ran into the room from a door hidden behind a large tepestry. He bowed quickly and began speaking rapidly. "My Lord, a vessel has landed and a part of Space Marines have arrived. They wish an audiance with you."

"Then by all means let them in," said Graham with a smile. He fell into a semi-trance and spoke mind-to-mind with his personnal guard, hidden in the hall. "Be ready."

"Yes my lord."

The officer saluted, bowed, and then ran from the room; rushing to go invite the new arrivals into the Throne room.

Peras and his contingent walked in and saw the Inquisitor. Immediatley it would be known to Graham that he was a Primarch as his body constantly crackled with psychic energy. He was resplendent in his artificer armor and walked with a gait in his step. He looked at the Inquisitor and said, "I am Peras Primarch of the Psi-Lords Space Marine Legion." Then looking to his side at the Marine standing next to him adorned in pure gold armor he said, "This is Captain Recos of the Warplsayers 5th Company assigned to the Ordo Malleus. We have been sent here to speak with you concerning certain......indescrepencies in your nation. While investigating other matters in this area we studied your nation and found it to be one of the few series of worlds to survive the fall of the Imperium somewhat intact. But we recently upon our arrivaql got some disturbing news that you in fact claim to be more powerful than the Emperor himself."

He looked directly at the Inquisitor unblinkingly and smiled, "So are any of these allegations true?" Peras could hear the thoughts of his fellow Marines and knew that they detected warp taint and that they could feel it in the air around them. They sensed it closely too that was a problem for now though he would keep his psychic shield erected to protect their thoughts from outward forces. The Warpslayers specialized in combating those beings infused with the power of the Warp including Chaos Space Marines and as such could feel the Warp taint whenever it was near.

She sighed knowing that now she may have to charge this world with heresy to the Emperor. Elrad nodded as the Chaos moved away to pray to there dark gods, andleft th temple, this world had once been a crone world and thus remains of old Eldar houses and citys littered it's surface. Milt-rogin it had been called and it had been one of the capitals of the Eldar race. Eldrad reambered when the Necrons had attacked it, the worriors of Vaul fighting off those evil contraptions.

He reambered the good times on this world and the bad times, this was only one of many thousands of worlds he had visited yet he reambered everying. He reambered where the great weapons of Vaul where hidden below the planets surface. Now he stepped into a building-a nbuilding with little diffrence to the others surrounding it.

He stepped thouh the ruined doorway and then down stone steps twoards a cellar, touching a perticular rock in a certain way that revealed a doorway to his left. He stepped throiugh it quickly, the doorway closing afterwards and switched on his helmats lights.

He walked slowly through stone corrodors, over rotting bones and avoided deadly traps, remabering the last time he had been ehre thousands of years ago. He had helped design thesde defenses and they had stood strong against all attackers, until finally Elrad reached a stone wall that blocked all proress.

He spoke softly in the tounge of the Eldar, stating his name and a codeword. Then in a fantastic display of lights the wall lit up. Elrad moved swiftly looking through the mass of data on the wall and pressing certain invisable buttons, giving acess words and all the time reambering.

This was the armoury of the Eldar, for long it had been rumored that the Crone Worlds held aincent weapons of mass distruction and many ahd tried to get at these weapons. Yet now Elrad headed staright for one weapon, protected by layers of security.

It looked like a normal Strunken Pistol, and in some ways it was, yet in others it was more powerful than that, far far mroe powerful. It was small, and almost oval in design, it's name carved by the smiths of Vaul on it's side Val-Vun.

Eldrad picked it up and then wlaked from the chamber, pushing the pistol into his belt. From there he left the building, rearmed the defences and made his way abck to the Thousand Sons.

"The ships have been prepared, the troops have been readied, and all preparations have been completed. The fleet is ready to leave now, Council."

"Excellent. But there are complications. Itzc has informed us of more humanoid ships entering the system, and they are likely to be hostile. Order the fleet to leave, and have them halt one at the edge of the humanoid system. Further orders will be sent as soon as they arrive there."

The orders were transferred to the fleet, and within minutes the ships left their orbit around Satyria. Several hundred kilometers further, all of them engaged their FTL-drives, making them disappear into a large Warpbubble. They would now be unreachable by anything, not even psychic contact, untill they re-entered real space again at their destination.

Itzc was also notified of the fleet's departure, and he received orders to remain at the edge of the humanoid system untill the fleet arrived. Untill then, he was to continue observing the system below him, notifying the Council of anything unusual. After the fleet arrived, he was to join the troops in one of the carriers, and lead the troops at the humanoid planet.

"My Lord; perhaps it is best that we institute some form of tact?" His apprentice; the notable Idasu Ari stood at his side; on his other, Lucretia sat, pondering the situation.

"We could always deep strike in; our retinue and entourage; stealthily progressing..." She mused

"While our troops assault from above. Perhaps..." Idasu frowned, furrowing his brow as though deep in concentration.

"We shall wait for now; full power to shields and weapons; we will be ready, should any try to strike against us. We shall ready ourselves; mind, body and soul, and then strike out against the enemies of the true Gods."

"Aye Lord."

Graham laughed aloud. It was an infectious laugh, one bathed in a deep well of hatred, fearlessness, and power. His eyes, already turned red by a lengthy possession of the Glyph glowed bright red.

"You would say that I am a heretic, is that it?" Graham asked, knowing how rehtorical it was.

"Your pitiful Emperor is nothing more than a roting corpse kept alive by the skin of his teeth and the techno-sorcery of your Primarchs of Terra.

Your alligations, if that is what you wish to call them, I would say them with pride, are true to the fullest extent of the word," said Graham.

He'd spent a short time probing each Marine. They had psychic shields on their minds. Pitifully weak compared to his own psychic power augumented by the Glyph a hundred fold.

As he spoke he sent small thoughts into their heads. It wasn't hard to change and warp them so that the shields would not activate. For the thoughts were not physically harming. They were thoughts of dought and shame, things that a Space Marine would stumble on and act slower.

"And now, I'd like you to leave. Your pressence is more than annoying...as is your ship in space," said Graham, his eyes glowing brighter.

Imperial Guard Barracks

Commissar Ferrick shuffled through the bunkers and buildings of the Guard Barracks compound and tried his best not to step on the many small shrines that soldiers had erected to Inquisitor-Emperor Gramicus.

While it had been his job to ensure loyalty and faith in the Corpse-Emperor, it was now the same for the True Emperor.

Ferrick walked past a group of troopers playing a game of tarrot cards. He smiled and came up behind them.

"Winning any hands today Sergeant Opel?"

The squad of men jumped at the sound of the commissar's voice, none of them having turned to look at him as he approached. They all quickly saluted. "Sir! Yes I have sir...I'm sorry, we shouldn't be-"

"No need," said Ferrick, cutting off the sergeant. "It is perfectly within your rights to play card games when off-duty. I won't shoot you for having fun." Ferrick said it with a smile to take some of the seriousness out of his words. The soldiers visably relaxed.

"Yes Commissar."

Ferrick was about to say something when he heard a crack, a loud one that he had heard before in the past. He waited, not trusting it, until he smelled the ionized air of a deep-strike.

"Sergeant, get your men combat ready on the double," said Ferrick. The soldiers did so without question, their las rifles and heavy squad weapons near at hand.

"Follow me," said Ferrick.

He led the squad around the side of the building to the direction where he was sure the sound had come from. There standing was Sergeant Bray, and in front of him a massive Space Marine.

"Sergeant, spread out and get firing positions," said Ferrick quickly. He pulled out his own bolt pistol as the Guardsmen around him took up position around the building. As yet the marine didn't notice them, it's massive back turned to them.

"Anderson! Get your long lass centered on that bastards head," said Sergeant Opel. The squads to specialists, the Flamer and Sniper, took up positions, and trooper Anderson took aim.

Ferrick stepped forward out of cover. "I think your a little lost sergeant Bray!" he called out.

"The time to strike has come."

Itzc was woken up by this psychic message from the Council, telling him that the fleet was almost arriving. He looked outside at the empty space, waiting for the distinctive Warpbubble to appear.

It wasn't long before a purple-ish distortion was visible to his left, growing and growing untill it was hundreds of times larger than Itzc's Pod. With a bright flash, visible from anywhere in the system that wasn't in the shade of planets or the system's star, the distortion disappeared, leaving behind the Satyrian vessels. For a moment there was lightning crackling around them, but after that the last remains of the distortion were gone.

Steering his Pod to the middle of the small fleet, Itzc awaited their moves. The large sublight engines on the ships were slowly powering up, with a green residu already forming behind them. Several minutes later, the ships started moving towards Practeus, their engines still spewing out the dangerous green residu.

"Ready sir."

"Do it."

A full power blast from the long las spat, smashing into the face of the Space Marine. A collection of las blasts followed, as well as several rounds from the Commissar's explosive rounds.

Graham frowned. He hadn't used enough power evidently. These marines were becoming annoying, their use as play things all but a complete waste. It was time to end it.

Graham drew into the well of power within the stone. Before the tiny electrodes that would signal the movement of body parts to the brain, before the tiniest blink of an eye, Graham was moving.

He moved with a speed that was otherwordly. The group of marines were still staring at the throne when he reached the middle of their group. He stood there for less than a heart beat. With a roar and an explosive rage Inquisitor Graham smashed a red burning fist into the ground.

It was like a tidal wave. A wave of red pure power. It engulfed the marines where they stood and threw them like dolls to the furthest extent of the room. Many smashing into the walls and crumbling to the floor.

"Now" called Graham. He pulled out his own power sword, and watched as two dozen of his World Eater Marines charged out from behind tapestries and black clad Guardsmen came charging from the far door.

Captain Huron smiled as the shrouding came into effect around himself and as he threw Sergeant Bray aside out of fire he walked forward while the pitiful Guardsmen fired their weapons. He raised his left arm and a flurry of fire spilled forth from the Stormbolter integrated into his power armor. He charged forward spinning his Nemesis Force Halberd crackling with eldritch fire and swung at the Commissar with deadly force and speed.

In the Palace

What the Inquisitor forgot was that Peras was no mere Astartes, he was a Primarch and more importantly the Primarch that embodied the raw Psyker power of the Emperor. As he saw his brothers thrown aside like rag dolls he was infuriated and began coursing with psyker energy as he let loose a psychic-laced banshee shriek that would strike deep into the souls of those around him. He glowed with tremendous psychic energy and spat it at the Inquisitor. As Sergeant Recos quickly stood up he looked arond and saw that three of his men lie unconcious. And rallying his two last men with his battlecry, "Warplsayers first into the Eye of Terror! Last out!" They fired Psycannon bolts at the incoming World Eaters, a bolt ammo which was laced with potent psychic energy capable of breaking thier corruptive ties with the Warp for good.

Peras turned to the Inquisitor as he was surrounded in a ball of energy and brought his Psyker blade to the Inquisitor with all of his strength. As he spun his blade a massive psychic energy storm formed above his head and struck out with crackling energy. Without even looking at the Guardsmen he reached out and picke dup their frail human bodies and slammed them against the corresponding walls. Then turning his full psychic gaze on the Inquisitor he screamed, "In the name of the Emperor I shall smite thee!" He let loose a psychic cry in the surrounding system that would chill all warriors to their very bones.

"Begin"

The Inquisitorial retinue teleported onto the planet below; appearing in a writhing flurry of warp energy; even as the ship above launched its drop pods; a hail of Dreadclaws; each containing the Chronosian Marines who would fight at Ezekial's side.

Ezekial himself drew in a mighty breath as he bestrode this new world; turning to view the compound which seemed to have already began to tear itself apart in war.

"How zealous these fools who worship the False Emperor are...How eager to destroy each other for percieved heresies and flaws. It sickens me to think of so many humans devoid of the glories of Chaos.

Around 40 Marines had now landed about them; a discreet unit ready to move out; to fight and die for their Gods. Idrasu adjusted his pistols upon his belt, while Lucretia arched her back, stretching and testing each muscle; sighing softly.

At her side was a vision that may have slid from hell's womb. It had once been beautiful; virtuous; now bare flesh as inlaid with lashes of chain and leather; marks and sigils of binding. This was Visanthia; She Who Devours. It mewled lightly, flexing its tensed muscle; its now voluptuous form bending and shifting; alive with Warp energy.

"SSsoo; manyy soulsssss" It snarled; teeth bared, sharp and feral. "taasste?"

Captain Recos smiled and set forth his faith to weaken the Chaos Marines. They would feel themselves weaken as they neared the Marines and would feel a draining of the powers of Chaos which gave them their strength. The Warpslayers fired a hail of psycannon shells at the Plasma Brothers and swung their blades as the enemy neared.

Elrad led, and the Thousand Sons followed. The dizzying range of tunnels that they travelled were more varied than any Neth Qhaysh'y-Theendhaos had ever encountered, and even with his third eye, he would be hard pressed to remember the route.
.
Elrad lead unflinching through the passageways of the webway. No matter what noise, what unearthly sound comes from the walls of the tunnel the carries on, and slowly the passagers get small and smaller, until they are stooping-the passages completly dark, lit only by the light of a single flickering lamp-for Elrad will let no eletric light be lit.

Then he stops, suddenly. A man from behind him bumps into his back and asks whats wrong, Elrad replys simpally-"Death. The Glyph is beginning to kill, the rgeat war is upon on us." He says that slowly and softly and then mvoes again, beneath his mask his face set in deeper lines that before.

Though the cluster of lights in the warp that surrounded the increasingly bright light of the Glyph wher ebeginning to flicker out with remarkable reguallity. For a while now they had been clustering there yet now they disappeared. "He ahs begun the slaughter," Elrad muttered and quickened his pace.

The other Marines soon began to rouse from thier unconcious states. The six Psi-Lords and the last two Warpslayers stood and drew their Psycannons and began unleashing hails of fire into the enemy. While as more and more enemies approached so did more Warpslayers and Psi-lords and soon there were sixty Marines in the Palace and a rallying cry was heard, "For the Emperor!" The Imperium of Man was battling those who wished to destabilize it and soon they would fall. Meanwhile Peras felt the webways course as an ancient being closed he reached out to him and thought to him, You are alien yet familiar. Who are you? What do you seek in the Imperium of Man?

Not knowing the intentions of the messenger, he did his best to shield them against any psychic attacks. His concentrantion was almost broken, however, as he was contacted by Leth Azyr.
"My Lord, we are almost ready to enter the system, however, our monitors are showing several fleets already present, and the psychic activity readings are off the scales."
He paused to think about this message from the fleet.
"I will let you know if you are needed after all. For now, maintain your position in warpspace."
"Yes, My Lord."
He turned to Elrad.

He paused to think about this message from the fleet.
"I will let you know if you are needed after all. For now, maintain your position in warpspace."
"Yes, My Lord."
He turned to Elrad.
"We may have a problem."
"I know." Elrad said slowly and tonelessly, "The war has begun. They must casue as much distruction as possable as quickly as possable." Elrads mind was hurting now from the pure physic pressure upon it, the sheer amount of deaths, the meassage, the Glyph all compunded his brain. For a second he let out a grone but only for a second.

He forght the urge to hold his head in his hadns, held onto the stream of conciousness. He had to...reply to a massage....slowly he formulated the words in his mind, using them to pull him back from the brink of breaking, I am Eldrad the Ranger, last of the old ones. I am ehre to prevent the terrable power that you now behold from destroying the plan. Elrad had a sence that his mind was letting out more information that it had too, more about the future, what had to happen to the universe. The plan. You must distroiy the Glyph for the Emporer. NOW! Once we could hold it but now there is no force that could stop it. with that Elrad cut of communication and retreated from the Physic world, away from the torment of all those lives.

He was too old for this war, and he knew it, yet still he pressed on, resolout in his mission. Finally he stumbled into the final capillary. "Here." He said, "You will emerge into a room very near to him. I will give you instructions in a second. Wait." Elrad groned and rentered the Physic world, it was so strong now, the glyph, the deaths, the death crys. so many....so many....he could feel the deamons of the warp gibbering, attacking his barriers of his mind...and he was too tired to stop them the glyph was too close....

"Out of the door." He said, snapping out of the trance. "Two guardsmen. They are udner the Glyphs power. Then it is straight, another door. Then the Glyph. I can tell you nothing of his defenses, it was made by my people and it shades all my physic sight. Go now. I shall follow once I..." He groned again as the presure increased with the distruction of a battlecruiser-1,000 souls gone, leaving searing traces on his skull-"Get my mind together."

Peras replied, If this is so I will do all I can. But I must ask you one favor in exchange my brother Primarchs from Dratheria. They are my brethern all of the same flesh as I. Aluora and Adormange are the only two who will not be around. You must collect Xander Darkthrope, Kivpa Hekis, Justin, Tur, Kailen, Thor, and Lyr. Each of these Primarchs form aspects of the Emepror's will and strength. Each will augment me. I cannot stand long against this power even with my own incredible strength. Suddenly Elrad would feel rejuvenated as twenty of the Librarians of the Psi-Lords fed enormous amounts of psychic energy to restore him. He then continued to assail the Inquisitor and sent out a psychic cry to the Primarchs of the Emperor's flesh. His brothers and sisters would feel his cry and in Dratheria his many brothers were alerted and readied themselves for war.

Neth Qhaysh'y-Tzeendhaos was the first out of the webway, the smart retort of his bolter pistol breaking the silence of the room containing the guardsmen even before he could notice it. The Inferno bolt whooshed across the room, and imploded with a small psychic shockwave, sending fragments of the guardsman's skull flying across the room, one of which imbedded itself in the other's eye socket, killing him before he could scream. All five of the sorcerers raised psychic wards simultaniously, and they emerged into the main hall of the complex. What they saw would have amazed them, had they not already forseen this event, along with many of its possible outcomes. The marines of the warpslayers chapter fought hand-to-hand with wreched followers of the blood god, PDF soldiers, and Imperial Guard stormtroopers. In the midst of it all the Inquisitor sped about, to fast for the human eye to follow. Unfortunately for him, the vast majority of the combatants were much more than human.
"Elrad, are you coming? I think we should let them demolish one another, and then bring in my fleet to mop up what's left...Elrad!...Respond, Elrad!"
"Leth Ghur, go see what has befallen our ancient friend. Report to me once you have found him."
A las beam was diffused harmlessly by Leth Chamon's force shield. A random shot, as there was no way that any other than the Inquisitor (and the leaders of the various marine factions, loyal or otherwise) could have spotted them through their camoflaged wards.

The Warpslayers sensed the ruinious powers near and communicated this thought to Peras. Peras knew that a Webway portal had opened nearby and he surmised this was the help the Old One had brought and sending out a psychic call for help he hoped this help would respond, Whoever is out there that can help I would appreciate it now. He groaned under psychic pressure as he was attacked by the glyph. Even if it was a ruinous power they were here to stop a far greater evil at this moment the nemy of my enemy is my friend. Peras was working his powers to fight the Inquisitor and protect his battle-brothers.

The powerful marine psyker attack hit Graham strait on. A red light exploded, bathing the room in its witch light. Soldiers and Marines alike were temporarly blinded by the massive light. Then the light retracted and returned to the Glyph.

Graham stood, quite unharmed, staring at the Marine. The last of the psyker attack being absorbed into the Glyph. Graham licked his lips.

"That was tasty."

With a speeding flourish Graham drew his Inquisitorial Power blade, forged from an ancient STC machine and encrusted with powerful psykic powers. He blocked the attack from the Marine Primarch with ease, he almost felt that the man was like a Guard officer playing with a chain sword.

"Fool, you say you are the son of the Corpse-God!? I am beyond Him!" yelled Graham. With a swift swirl, his blade turning red and trailing fire, Graham brought his sword down upon the Marine. The Primarch brought his own up to block. The force however brought him to his knees, a boom resounded, a crater formed where the Primarch kneeled.

All around the World Eaters swarmed over their opponents, even the reinforcements of these intruders were not enough. The Plasma Brothers had entered the fray too, a loyalist marine being turned to green slag as plasma smashed into his chest. Guard storm troopers were entering in droves, bringing their heavy weapons to bear on singled out marines.

Guard Barracks

Ferrick did what he did best. He ran. With several shots at the approaching monster's knee, he managed to make it falter. He ran past the squad of Guardsmen, telling them to hold it off.

Ferrick tapped into his comm bead and spoke on the army-wide channel.

"Alert, this is Commissar Ferrick. Enemies have entered the Guard Barracks at point 4, block number 8. 1st Company, Valgardians are to engage."

A voice came over the comm bead into Ferrick's ear.

"Ferrick! This is Lord General Zyvan. We have reports that a number of enemies have landed outside the city, near the main faraway. I've dispatched two companies to intercept them and hold them, until we can be reinforced by Lord Gramicus's marines."

"I understand sir."

Ferrick ran for the command compound. His order took effect and more than two hundred marines began concentrating on the point where the mad marine had appeared swirling his pike.

Further Out of the City, Ezekial's landing area

The Guardsmna stood there looking through his binoculars for a moment, trying to make sure he believed what he saw. A group of the massive legendary space marines were walking down the street, taking defensive positions as they did so. They were expecting trouble.

"You got a target?" the man asked his partner. The man grunted.

"Let 'er rip!"

Without pretext a dozen missile launchers flared to life and their missiles smashed in among the party of space marines. Las rifle fire rained down from the buildings. Even a Leman Russ rumbled from behind a road block down the street, firing a round at a large concentration.

Two companies had made a concave entrapment of the marines, trying to keep them pinned down.

The Marines hit the dirt, dodging the missles as they streaked overhead; shrapnel and dust flying into the air, obscuring them in the deluge of smoke and splintered masonry, before the first bolter rounds hurtled forth in killing arcs to match the Lasgun fire. Ezekial lashed out with his plasma pistol, energy disgorging as he towered over his men, his voice booming; alive with psychic command.

"IMPERIAL INQUISITION! DROP YOUR WEAPONS!" It would affect the weak minded; buying them at least some time.

Idrasu whirled about, his boltpistols hammerign forth their rounds as he ducked into a side street; while Lucretia took aim with her Plasma rifle; taking pot shots at the enemy.

A hissing sound rose from the conflagration; hovering into the air, bindings straining; rising against gravity; as its mouth slid into a feral sneer; lashing out with a holocaust of psychic force against its foes.

"Weeeaaaakkkklingsssss!" It spat "Weak sons of Terra! Come, be food for SHE WHO DEVOURS!"

"The humanoids are fighting amongst themselves already. It isn't that they don't know about us, they are just unable to solve their pathetic internal affairs. Continue at this course and send out the first Dropships."

"Only the first three?"

From the three Carriers, the first segments were detached, each forming a large Dropship on their own. Using the inertia given by the Carriers that had been pushing them, they continued their way towards the planet. The other segments of the Carrier were prepared for seperation too, in case the first wave would not be enough.

After several minutes of floating straight at the planet, the three Tripod Dropships got caught in its gravitational field and started to speed up. The shields protecting them from the heat became clearly visible as red-glowing spheres around them. After this first barrier was passed, the turbines were activated, attempting to slow down the Tripods before they reached their destination. It didn't really matter though. Despite the effort of the turbines, the Tripods would smash into the city below soon enough, hopefully crushing the buildings below them instead of crashing against them.

A crack and the smell of ozone could be smelt as Peras used all of his psyker strength to fight back against the Inquisitor. A psyker strength that would rip apart most Astartes Librarians with ease. His blade crackled with energy and fought back but he knew he was fighting a losing battle. Then a seismic shockwave ripped through the hall as the ground cracked and tore asunder. Then golden lightning cracked across the hall into enemy marines and incinerated them easily. It would be known immediatley this was a weapon forged by the Emperor and when they looked back a series of men looking like Astartes but farmore powerful stood in the door to the palace hall. It was all of the Primarch brothers now all eight of them were assembled in one room.

Xander wielded the mighty blade Mortifer, Justin wielded his primarchial sword, Kailen wielded his Katana, Tur wielded his Warhammer, Lyr wielded a Daemonblade, Kivpa wielded his bow or a lightning arc, and Thor wielding his great Halberd. Xander yelled his battlecry as Kivpa took filght and charged for Peras as their Primarch brothers charged forward after them. They stopped and stood softly on the ground behind Peras and crackled with Psyker eneergy as they fed it all into their brother. Peras with renewed strength far beyond that ever used before stood and on an even footing with the Inquisitor struck back again and again.

Meanwhile the whole room gained a chill as a warrior stepped froth from a Warp portal the rogue Primarch Xavier stood there and smiled a cruel and (quite literally a cold smile) as he walked he left icy footstep and any enemy marine near him would be frozen to his core. He then fed his own psychic will into Peras and as Peras received the massive psyker energy levels from Xavier he drew all of his energy to the fore and battled the Inquisitor evenly but he knew it would not last for long and springing back unleashed the Storm of the Emperor's Wrath thorugh his blade with deadly accuracy. He screamed his banshee howl again attacking the souls of those around him. He then messaged Elrad back, Thank you Old One hurry though this power granted me will not last long. And although the Thousand Sons are our enemies it appears we could use thier help this day. After this we should speak sometime about the Old Imperium.

As soon as Leth Ghur stepped alongside his fellow sorcerers, they dropped their camoflauge, and began to assault the enemy with the christal with a barrage of doombolts, Inferno shells, and all manner of other psychic attacks. Commissar Ferrick entered the high rise hotel building and made his way quickly to the command room. Guardsmen, mostly aides and cog boys, ran around with papers and yelling off reports into their comm beads.

Ferrick squished past a few and entered the main conference chamber. There leaning over a tactical display was Lord General Zyvan. Zyvan looked up as Ferrick entered and nodded to the commissar.

"Ferrick, we have our hands busy."

The commissar went forward and looked at the tactical layout. Enemies had appeared in the palace and were presently in the seventh block area, a heavy apartment area within seven kilometers of the palace.

"I have two companies engaging the enemies here," said Zyvan, indicating the apartment area. "And I am relying on the Emperor Gramicus's private guard to help him. Right now we have an estimated 60-100 heretic space marines here."

"They need more support," said Ferrick immediately.

"I know, I already sent in the entire Valgardians regiment, and I am having the Fire Drakes Grenadiers prepare as well."

Several Guardsmen fell from their respective buildings, the mind warping psychic attack too much for them. But for the most part the Guardsmen hardend their defence. They had fought off mind bending Eldar and Tyranids in the past.

Las fire increase and a collection of heavy weapons teams bagan firing with autocannons and las cannons, concentrating on the larger figures and marines that were advancing too close.

Dozens of more World Eaters were spewing forth from behind hidden doors. Roaring with beserker rage and battle fever they came toe-to-toe with the enemy striking them down with their chain blades.

Graham saw the look of triump on the Primarchs face as eight other marines, wearing similar dress, appeared before him.

Batting aside the marines sword with a quick parry Graham took a tight fist and with a roar smashed it into the chest of the marine. It smashed through the primarchs armor like paper, Grahams fist powered by a massive psychic pulse. Graham felt skin.

"Die!"

With a bright flash, similar to the one that had blinded warriors ealier erupted. A burning fire erupted from Grahams fist, lodged against the skin of the primarch aimed at his heart. It was a fire and lighting meant to destroy armies.

The Tripods were still accelerating downwards, as the turbines were not working fully in the low-pressure - to Satyrian standards - atmosphere. All three of them were heading for relatively flat areas, one in the form of something that looked like a park, and the other two urban areas which appeared to be huge intersections of the roads below. They weren't exactly close to the palace - or close to eachother for that matter - but it were the best spots easily available.

Minutes later, the first Tripod smashed into the earth of the park, throwing up massive amounts of dirt and other things unlucky enough to be there. Because of the hard landing, the Tripod ended up inside a small crater, the once-pointed bottom now crumpled to a flat surface. Before the dust had fallen, the air around the Tripod was violenty disturbed by the three Sonic Disruptors at the tips of the prongs.

These were meant to clear out the immediate area around the Dropship, allowing the Satyrian troops to come out without ending up directly in combat. Meanwhile three large hatches opened on the sides of the Tripod, and soon a group of insectoid warriors came walking out, carrying an array of ancient looking weapons.

On the intersections, it went less comfortable, the bottom side of the two Dropships getting crushed on the impact. Neither of them would be able to leave again afterwards, meaning the forces here would be trapped untill reinforcements were sent. But with their knowledge of the Council, they knew that wasn't going to happen if it wasn't absolutely neccesary to accomplish the objective.

He shrieked and watched as blood flowed from the Inquisitor's ears and eyes in rivers. The attack should weaken his power and his hold as the shriek struck deep into the Inquisitor's soul terrifying and flaying his very mind open. Graham was having a very bad day. Only luck allowed him from perhaps being killed. Another being, one he could not sense without concentrating too much had moved in to strike his back. But the foolish Primarch had evaporated, like a snake skin, and got around behind him; just in time to be in the way.

"More!" he called out in his mind. Marines and Guardsmen alike flooded the room. It was then that Graham ran, using his heart beat fast speed. Khornate marines took his place, yelling for blood and with the lust of battle of upon him.

Without looking back Graham exited the Throne Room. His troops would keep them occupied for some time, enough to let him make his escape. His enemies were too numerous here. He had to find a safer haven.

Graham ran down the long granite halls and came to large metal doors. He flung them open and exited the palace. There on a small private landing pad was a transport.

"Launch," he commanded the pilot. He stepped into the hatch just before it closed, the engines roaring to life.

He looked down through a window. All around the palace Guardsmen were swarming, most heading into the Palace their destination the Throne Room. He smiled and then turned his thoughts to the pilot.

"Take me to General Zyvan," he commanded.

Minutes later Graham entered the Guard High Command. There the men bowed and prostrated themselves before him, wispering and muttering praises to him as he walked.

General Zyvan did likewise as Graham entered.

"My Lord Emperor, this is a pleasent surprise," he began.

Graham cut him off. "I need your psykers to make a teleport hole for me. Destination being my flagship."

Without need to call them in, several bent and queer looking characters entered the room. They hissed and bowed to Graham. "Master..."

"Open a portal," said Graham. As one the psykers bowed and began mubbling their incantations, the room became chill from their workings. Graham turned back to the General.

"You are to hold this planet to the last, General. Do not stop and do not let any enemies leave alive."

General Zyvan bowed. "Yes my Lord Emperor."

With a crashing sound of waves a dark rip of warp was opened before Graham. He focused his Glyph on it and then entered.

He exited aboard the bridge of the Antioch. Captain Hereticus nearly jumped out of his skin as Graham appeared and the portal closed. The bidge turned to a droning mass of men bowing and paying their respects.

"Captain," said Graham. "Set your course for Milios Secundus. We're leaving now."

"Yes lord...it will take only an hour to ready our engines."

"Good, have the other three battle cruisers in orbit begin engaging any enemy ships in space. They are to fight a rear-guard action and will fight to the death," ordered Graham. He swept out of the bridge, trailing a small river of blood.

"They have a good honor," Hereticus said to himself. He quickly went about ordering Graham's wishes.

Guard Command

Zyvan sighed when he saw the portal close. He did not enjoy such warpcraft, but he knew it was for the Emperor and thus that made it sanctified. He watched as his psykers left the room and his aides returned.

"Whats the report?"

"We have three full companies attacking the Palace sir, Captain Gargeous of the World Eaters has his entire company there as well. We do not know how many enemies," reported one.

"The main faraway, where we are engaging them in the apartment complex area, we have two companies holding them, and several platoons of the Fire Drakes Grenadiers making a rear attack by swinging round their flank. Several Leman Russ tanks are also joining the attack from the 10th Valhallan Armored Regiment."

Zyvan nodded as he listened. It would be a grim battle.

Bollocks Elrad said as the man run, the Ancents path being blocked by teeming numebrs of enermys. He sqwered another man, doged a boyonet and killed again and again. In one hand he held his pistol, in his other his sword and he carved through the ranks of Marines and Guardsmen like a angle of death.

Another bolter hit his armour carving a fragment off it and Elrad killed the man who ahd fired the shot with a accurate shot. He sensed his quarry had already fled the building but to where he couldn't tell. He could only follow.

He drove the sword into the door the man had run to and stepped through, cloking hismelf to any mortal eyes.

Peras spoke psychically to Elrad, Come with us and we will catch him together. In a flash of light and ozone all the Imperium forces disappeared off the planet except for one lone Primarch, Xavier. He smiled his cold and cruel smile and rising up in psychic power an ice storm issued out from him as he flew out in a flurry of snow and ice laughing. On the outside of the palace he froze the palace and it's surrounding area to near 0 Kelvin the poor troopers who had been running ot engage them would now be frozen to the core and as a lance flew down from space it would decimate the palace shattering it and creating a massive crater made of glass. Xavier then disappeared in a teleporter beam.

Meanwhile Lord Falcor ordered the Black Ship and Battle Barge to decloak and attack and destroy the heretic battle vessels. He smiled knowing few could battle these ships and three small battlecruisers were certainly outmatched. Meanwhile on the other side of the planet some twenty Battle Barges appeared around the planet releasing drop pods. And the Marines themselves would root out the heresy and quash the rebellion for after all this was an Imperium world and this form of heresy would not stand.

He and his brothers arrayed themselves outside the palace, while Khorne woershippers were fighting psykers within the palace; His Brother Coven had their plasma weaponry primed. Panzik himself doubted an attack were he stood. Thinking such a think invited an attack, he remebered it had durring the battle for the Emperor's Palace on Terra, he was the oldest of his brothers and the only one who had layed siege. The smell of burning Imperial Fist still fresh in his mind. If they come. 'Let them come.'

Leth Chamon grabbed Elrad, an action that would have been missed by all of the enemies, as they could not see him. As soon as Elrad had been grabbed, the sorcerers simultaniously slammed their staffs onto the ground, teliporting themselves onto the head cruiser of the scouting fleet he had sent out earlier as a diversion It would seem that this fleet will serve a greater perpose thought Neth Qhaysh'y-Tzeendhaos, as they briskly gave orders to the already prepared crews. Lord Falcor opened a comm to the Thousand Sons,

It would appear that for now we are allies. We have the location of his next destination and ironically we can get there faster than you could ever hope to. Rendezvous with my flagship, Dragon Fang, and the Battle Barge, Witchslayer, at the edge of the system. It would appear we are allies out of necessity something that pleases me in the least.

He then opened a comm to the Reken forces,

We would appreciate your help in this endeavor. We will meet you at the edge of the system then we can use our combined forces to strike them down. You were once a great ally to the Imperium and the Emperor will you not be so again?

The Dragon Fang was like a dark blade and it was three times larger than even a Battle Barge such was the size of any Inquisition flagship. As they neared the ships their cloaking shields rose protecting them from any psychic, Warp, or even Force detection. Lord Falcor, Peras, and Xavier beamed over to visit the Thousand Sons and Elrad on their bridge. Lord Falcor while despising this made a point to be civil and said, "Now what will our attack plan be?" Xavier's mere presence would make the bridge cold and those near him would accumulate a light layer of frost on their armor.

Meanwhile elsewhere the Sisters of Battle and the Warpslayers readied themselves for battle taking their oathes and readying themselves to battle the heretic enemy with Inquisitor Leor at the lead. The Witchslayer readied it's embarkation deck with Stormbirds and Drop Pods. The attack would have to be a swift one when the time came. The enemy was sure to have a large force at it's disposal and the forces of the Dragon Fang and the Witchslayer would do a unified strike on the enemy forces.

Satyrian Battlecruiser
"The Glyph has escaped from the planet. It is now on board of one of the humanoid vessels. It appears to be preparing to flee."

"Incapacitate the vessel, and the void of space will take care of the rest. Let those on the surface cause as much destruction as possible. This world and its population are now considered immediate threats, and threats must be obliterated."

The same orders were sent to all ships, telling them to engage the humanoid vessels at once. All of them started turning towards the Imperial fleet, charging the main Neutron Cannons. The first shots would be aimed directly at the energy radiating from the Glyph, untill the enemy would start to fight back. When that happend, the Satyrians would have to use other tactics to get rid of the threats.

"All Battlecruisers are ready, awaiting the signal."

"Activate."

And with that word, fifteen green rays shot towards the Imperial vessel with the Glyph inside, ignoring the others for the moment.

Practeus Surface
Meanwhile, the forces on the ground heared about their orders. They were to destroy anything they came across, and kill as many of the planet's inhabitants as possible. Everything on the planet was contaminated by the Glyph's influence, and had to be destroyed as such.

The troops started advancing out of their landing zones, firing their ancient weaponry at anything that came too close. The fact they were ignored by the defence forces was only a good thing, allowing them to do their 'work' without resistance. Or atleast, for now...

"Perhaps we can work something out. While not the pinnacle of humanity as we have become; you have uses; and this power has uses; uses that might benefit us both. You should know, however, that should you try anything, and I do mean anything; we will destroy you. Utterly."

Unfortunatley for the Exodian forces they would come across the unified force of Blood Angels and Space Wolves in their fullest ferocity. They would charge the enemy with full bloodlust on mind howling with bolters coughing out devastating holy fire. Although the Space Marines despised their orders they knew that the High Inquisition Lord of the Ordo Malleus was to be followed without question. they were ordered to leave the Chronosians to their own devices and quash the enemy rebellion as well as any non-allied forces. This was after all an Imperium world and for it the Imperium had dispatched over six thousand Marines to do battle on the planet. It was overkill but it was also a quick and decisve show of power.

The shimmering astral form of Lord Falcor smiled saying, "Good, rendezvous your forces near Milio Secundus with our battlegroup and make sure to hide yourselves well we do not want him to be alerted to our presence and escape again."

OOC - @Reken: "Pot calling the kettle black" is the case right there, so hold your comments to the OOC thread. That is where you address such issues.

Intquisitor Graham's Flagship

Graham walked into his state rooms and slammed the door shut behind him. He stumbled over to the fresher and turned the nobbs, water pouring out as he did so. Running his hands through it the water turned to vapour, backlash from his long extended use of the Glyph no doubt. Graham walked into his room and painstakingly took off his armour. He hadn't done so in many years, having grown accustom to simply wearing it at all times.

The Glpyh shone brightly in the light of the room as it rest on the silk covered bed before Graham. He mentally pushed and it came unlaching from his armour. Picking it up he returned to the fresher and took a long shower, the water turning to vapour once it touched his body. After several minutes this side effect quit.

Graham set his head under the water flow and thought about his use of the Glpyh. He had delved further into its well of power than ever before, that damned Primarch having been the cause for much of it. The Primarch brought up several questions, not to mention how he ad dodged Graham's attack; causing Graham to simply wipe out several of his own lackeys. It had been a very good rebuttle to Graham's power-encrusted fist.

"I'll be more prepared next time," Graham said aloud. He sighed and let the water flow over his body, momentarily relaxing for a few moments.

In Space over Praectus Prime

The three heavy battle cruisers manuevered like great chess pieces, bringing their ships around the planet in a great arch. Before them where several large fleets of different nations. Some of them were already heading towards them.

Captain Marduk of the Vermillion stood on the bridge watching the redouts as techpriests mumbled prayers and burned incense. The smell was one that Captain Marduk had long become accustomed too.

"Gunnery Master, are we in range yet?" asked Captain Marduk. He leaned over the edge of his podium and looked down into an observatory-like room. There a man, mostly machine, wirled and beeped. His augumented face glanced up.

"Our heavy batteries are still several kilometers off, Captain."

"Once we are, fire our main batteries!"

"Yes sir!"

Planet Surface

The truck and the Guardsmen in it blew sky high as concentrated bolter fire hit the promethium tanks under the truck. With screams followed shortly by another explosion the other truck disapeared in a haze of shrapnel as well. Guardsmen were dying by the droves, yet using their tell-tale tactics even more were arriving by the minute, reinforcements coming up from the main barracks near the palace.

The Space Marines took minor casualties as they swept across the Imperium world with the fury and righteousness of the Emperor behind their attacks. Predators, Vindicators, Rhinos, Land Raiders, and all other types of War Machines flooded the battle fields backing up the Marines battling to reclaim the world for the Emperor.

In Space above Praectus

The Battle Barges and their accompanying Strike Cruisers opened fire on the enemy with long range lance batteries and in some cases Nova Cannons. The bombardment cannons were aimed at the enemy vessels and the full force of the Battle Barges would be felt. The attack force that closed in consisted of ten vessels; two Battle Barges and eight Strike Cruisers.

Peras stepped into his quarters softly and felt the blood trickle from his eye which he quickly cleared away. He stripped off his artificer armor till he was standing in his psychoplastic carapace armor. He stood like this one could see all the injuries he had suffered. His carapace armor was broken in many places and he was bleeding from several wounds across his form where his own psychic power had made an effort to burst out of his body. He slowly walked over to a booth in his armor room and stood inside as a beam shone across his body many of his wounds began to finish knitting up and his carapace armor was repaired his armor itself was lying in it's rack being worked over by nano-bots to repair the cracks.

As he finally left the booth and lay down on a couch in his room it became immediatley clear that he had exhausted his psychic powers and as he went into a deep stasis trance he had a vision of the glyph and it's user, a titanic conflict, and a great devastating power.
