OOC-This is a closed RP, it is a look at Post-Civil War Thetania. Also, to those in my civil war, this is not the reconstruction thread.

Thetania after the civil war was like a pile of rubble. Its cities laid in ruins, its people coming out from hiding. In a government building, from the balcony, Joseph Monet, now Leader of Thetania, stated in a speech ''Never again shall Thetania suffer what we went through at the STO's hands! I say, Thetania will be a great nation once more!'' He took care of his daughter, Michelle for his other daughter, Emily was beheaded by the STO during the Civil War. The Christians were coming out of hiding. Christianity has always been a respected historical faith in Thetania, since its introduction. However, they were targeted by the STO, along with the Muslims, Jews and others. Despite its killing of the Jewish people (Many still remained), the STO also killed Nazis, silencing those who thought the STO was a mix between Scientology and Nazism.

Thetanian leaders met in the city of Franciscanople to discuss Thetania's future. Joseph Monet said ''We must keep hold of what we said. If we said ''We will bring forth a Reformation'' than we will bring forth one.'' The others approved, they had fought with Monet the whole time against Miscavige and the STO.

Miscavige was not a private citizen in Thetania, he was not to be put on trial. However, he was sometimes watched over. The Scientologist Party was dissolved, earlier it was merged into the STO. Its members joined the TPA or other groups.

The ''Brothel Girls'' were little girls forced into sexual slavery. Most of them now had dieases like HIV and/or AIDS, Michelle also had this. Joseph promised compensation would be given to them and their families.

Emily and Michelle Monet (Joseph's wife) were laid to rest some time after Monet took power. He would miss them dearly but was glad when he knew Michelle (his daughter, the one with HIV/AIDs) was still here, although doctors did not know if she would live long now or not.

Giovanni Monet was in a coma, from taking the bullet shot at Michelle by a STO supporter. Joseph and Michelle visited him daily, seeing how he was.

The Catholic Church, not the majority church of Thetanian Christians, sighed in relief and began rebuilding. The Catholics lost many clergy, including Cardinal John Harrington, the Cardinal that the government took his cardinalship from and later hanged him.

The Muslims were also relieved and began fixing up their mosques and centers so that they could worship in peace again.

As for Scientology, Joseph Monet said ''It will not be a state faith.'' He made it a minor religion as the ''Christian Resurgence'' happened in which many people went to Christianity and perhaps other faiths like Islam from Scientology.

Dianetic Christianity (uses Bible and Dianetics as Holy Scripture but is NOT tied to Scientology) was still allowed but it did lose some followers.

Scientology's future was in dispute. Some said ''It is a corrupt system.'' or ''It was distorted by the fanatics.''

Many people began killing STO men out of clear anger and outrage. They hated the STO and wanted vengence and revenge.

John Cromwell took care of his only surviving family member, his daughter Juliet who was now with HIV and perhaps AIDS, for she was a ''Brothel Girl.'', she had been for some time during the Civil War.

''I don't know why this all happened. Why did we have to suffer this Hell?'' John said as he gave Juliet her breakfast.

After, he had his caretaker, Stephanie, take care of Juliet while he went outside. When he went out, he saw the rubble and the despair. ''I hope and I will fight to make sure this never happens again.'' John said in anger. He walked and saw the poor, the sick, those in need of food. Children laid dying on the streets, their parents unable to take care of them. Bodies were being scooped up and disposed of over and over again.

Meanwhile,
The Fransicans of the St. Francis of Assisi Monestary held Mass outdoors and many Catholics attended, praying to God for the end of suffering in Thetania.

''Allahu Akbar!'' said the people of the Minarets as Muslims went to prayer also outdoors for it was lucky for one to see some of the mosques left standing. ''Peace be with you.'' they greeted each other, they hoped it would be more than just a greeting.

Greetings. I have been appointed head of the Mer Des Ennuis Occupational Forces in Thetania. I would like to set up field bases near any cities you would be willing to turn over to us until the end of reconstruction of the aforementioned cities. I have 200,000 men under my command as of now, and can call up 300,000 more if needed. We have also been given a budget of 20,000,000,000 denarius (roughly 50,060,458,000 in your currency). These cities will temporarly be declared territory of Mer Des Ennuis to allow for martial law should the populance still be in chaos. However, we will attempt to avoid violating any law of the land ofThetania. Please let me know what cities we may take control of to assist in reconstruction.

I have forwared this information to Carpathia Ziemowit in the capital, and he has instructed me to set up forward bases in Port Emily and Thetanius. We expect that after this (NS) day, we will have our reconisssance units in the area. We will concentrate primarily on a "show of force" to ensure security and will start reconstructing hospitals, dock facilities to allow the transport of equipment, and the rebuilding of any airfields. May we prosper together. Fear ensures unity!

Today, in Citizen Square, our Supreme General Khonsu Izakabad has authorized a massive Pythogrian commitment to the rebuilding of Thetania, which was devastated by civil war. The previous government and rebel groups had began to fight, when Pythogria intervened on the government's behalf. Soon, however, the rebels, along with a foriegn power that was aiding them (1010102) and the government (aided by us) began toface a common enemy. The STO.

The STO were radical Scientologists, killing all who opposed. They committed genocide against all non-Scientology groups, banned all non-Scientology religions, and then began to commit genocide against Pythogrian citizens. Pythogria did not let this stand, and intervened in full force. The STO was soon crushed, and it's leaders are being tried.

The STO also did incredible amounts of damage to Thetania. Infasatructure damage is at 78.9452%. To help in reconstruction, one quarter of all government budgets and one eighth of all taxes will go to Thetania. The taxes will go to Thetania for the next 30 years. The Supreme General had this to say.

"Pythogria has stood against the STO for the good of Thetania, if not the whole world. In this engagement, large parts of the nation are destroyed. Thousands, if not millions, are dead. The STO has killed more than Hitler. To rebuild Thetania, I have authorized the donation of one quarter of all government budgets. Field Marshal Witold Makariy rode atop a Merkava 4 Main Battle Tank. He was 5th in a column of over 1,500 vehicles. 50,000 men, armed with a combination of Steyr Augs, M312 heavy machine guns, and Javelin Anti-tank missile launchers were in the city, either in the medical and communications HMMWVs, warriors, or tanks. Still others circled the city in Blackhawks, ready to take out any who would attempt to fight the force. The Marshal could hear sporadic bursts of gunfire in the distance; chaos and distrust of foreigners was the general law of the land. Army medics began to tend to some of the most grievously wounded citizens.

The general stepped to the edge of the plaza where a large statue of L. Ron Hubbard still stood. It was a warm, still day, and his voice carried far from the loudspeaker.

“People of Port Emily, you are now under the rule of the army of Mer Des Ennuis. I come not to kill you, but to build your city up. Our priorities are to rebuild your hospital and docks and maintain order. We will be here for the next 2 years or until your city is built up. The same is being done to Thetanius. The coming times will be hard, but we will prevail together. Anyone who resists our forces will see death. Those that cooperate will be spared.”

The general waved his hand to one of the Warrior IFV’s, and a message was sent to the 3 M777A1 artillery pieces waiting 5 miles away. They fired.

“Scientology is a stain on your land, and as long as we are here, we will not tolerate them. I am declaring the cult illegal and dangerous, punishable by the Uniform Code of Military Justice by a maximum penalty of death. Let this be the dawn of a new era for Thetania.”

With that, as if by will of God, the shells found their target, disintegrating the hated statue.

The shells were made of a bio-chemical substance that burned easy. No shells would be left behind. They waited until darkness fell.

In the capital, Michelle was diagnosed again with HIV and/or AIDS. Joseph took good care of her, giving her food, letting her have home schooling. He managed Thetania well, making it grow and prosper with the other nations' help.

Darkness fell, and the fire teams prepared to breach the building. The snipers were in position and prepared to move into the building. They did not receive the cancelation code. 6 shots were fired by the snipers, incapacitating the perimeter guards. The 15 men moved in, meeting only token resistance. Miscavige was found in a holding cell. One of the team beat him, throwing a black bag over his head. Miscavige was dragged into a waiting van, and the shells were collected. 50 spent shells from an AK-47 were thrown, and 5 finger-print less AK's were left for the sun to reveal. One of the members even had the curteosy to call the police and inform them that he heard shots fired from the building.

Inside the van, miscavige was beaten. He was knocked unconscious, and dropped in front of the Pythogrian embassy, and a note reading "We can get at you anywhere, no matter how safe you think you are." Supreme Field Marshall Gendo Ikari and Field Marshall Kazuke Morihume, the commander during the STO War, might accompany him, but this is uncertain.

Wearing a fine cotton black uniform, with gold embelms, Tenarius descended from the plane. His hat, with the embelm of the silver eagle on his cap, covered his black longish air.
Ikari and Morihume covered his flanks.
Ikari always wore brown sunglasses that prevented others from ever seeing his eyes. His red and black uniform was plain and contrasted with his brown hair.
Morihume strode down, wearing his Imperial General Uniform.
Praetorian Guards covered them, their embelm of a wolf head on their red armbands.

Tenarius appraised the two. So these were the two people who were giving him such a headache, he thought. Fighting over land that we have taken with our own blood, our own treasure, and we are laboring to rebuild.
He was not rich as Pythogria and 1010102- he could not afford an investment like this with no return.
And the arrogrant bastards think that he should give it to them at gunpoint! Bastards!
After all, he was here for negotiations, not a polite meeting.
Oh well.

Tenarius storde to the couple. While the Praetorian Guard stood back, Ikari and Morihume accompanied him.
He bowed to both of them.
"Greeting, Joseph and Michelle. Michelle, Imust send my condolences. I am sorry that we could not do more."

Reconstruction, with Carpathia Ziemowit's approval, under Field Marshal Witold Makariy was going smoothly. Hospitals and schools were fully open. Businesses and residencies were being rebuilt into a modern, clean city, with bike paths planned to accomidate green modes of transportation. Democratically elected mayors had been installed in both cities. The Police force was gadually assuming law-enforcement reponsibilites. Scientology in all its forms had been all but erridicated. So far, half of the reconstruction budget had been used on the cities of Port Emily, which now had a large dock facility, and Thetanius.

Both cities had one of two memorial parks built; the field of honor and the field fo glory. In Port Emily, a large statue of Emily leading a group of children was errected, where Thetanius had a large statue dedicated to the nation of Thetanius as a whole. Both contained memorial walls listing casualties on both sides, civilian and military. Another section of the park was a statue of a soldier holding a rifle with a helmet on top of it, dedicated to extranational soldiers who died defending the country. Finally, in a secluded section of the park was a statue of Carpathia Ziemowit, commemerating the people of Thetania as a whole. The cities would end military reconstruction within the year.

Michelle looked at Tenarius and said ''Thank you for your condolences. It is ok, I understand.'' ''What would you like to talk about?'' Joseph asked Tenarius. Joseph Monet wanted to protect Thetania from another war.

Thetanians also thanked Mar des Ennuis for their statue building and their reconstruction efforts.

''If Metarius tries to take our lands, we will fight them!'' thought some officals.

Children within the cities owned by the Metarian Empire are heading to school.
Rather then teach Thetanian history, teachers are Metarian, and teach the history of the Metarian Empire.

Metarian soldiers have now rebuilt most of the occupied Thetanian cities. The cost is huge, and taxes have been increased on the Metarian populace. The populace endure it, because they are willing to endure the cost for the Empire.

Ikari took out a cigar and lit it. He offered it to Monet, who reufsed.
Tenarius asked whether it would be best whether to head inside for a discussion.

Many Thetanians visited the statues, seeing how well they were made. Memorials to Emily were made at her statue in which she leads the child victims of the Massacre of Children.

Realizing that there was indeed discontent in Metarius-controlled segments of Thetania, Carpathia has quietly ordered an increase of the ground forces occupying the nation. This would have the effect of making the nation the equivlent of a war theater (360,000 men), broken down into 2 army groups of 3 Armies each.

Some Thetanians disapprove of Metarian policies and the education of their children in Metarian history, etc.

The TPA sends this to Mar des Ennuis ''If Metarius seizes our lands, will you help us in fighting them back?''

Given that Metarius has remained under full war mobilization, heavy weapons and artillery are coming off the factories in record numbers.
All men 16-48 have now received some form of combat training, mostly in defensive street fighting.
All losses from the STO War have been replaced. Troop strength is about 200,000 men in the 1st and 2nd Legions.

The Thetanian Armed Forces are being trained up as well. The TAF is well kept and well able to defend.

Carpathia Ziemowit was concerned, and angry. "One war had already been fought in this land" he thought to himself, "and we are not going to fight another nation to reliberate this land. Assassination is out, since that would just enflame the situation even more. The generals tell me that Meritus is establishing a 200,000 man force in the region, with intent to commit low intensity warfare."

Carpathia mused to himself some more, and paced his office. "What we need is beyond a show of force. We need to prepare an unresistable mass of men before things get out of hand."

Carpathia picked up a phone and called a military financial analyist. "What will the cost of mobilizing an additional 640,000 men and associated equipment to Thetania be?" The analyist spat out a figure: 2,000,000,000 on the high end. Carpathia thanked him and hung up. He then called Makariy.

"Marshal, I am reinforcing your positions to make our ground force 1,000,000 men. I also want you to kindly ask Metarius if we could inspect their regions of control. I also want you to upgrade to ASCON (Assault Condition) 1."

Within minutes of the Arch Arsonist hanging up, all units in both Thetania and Mer des Ennuis went on red alert.

Imperial soldiers have also moved to red alert (note: in Metarius red is the second highest color. Black is the highest color)

Metarian troops have now erected statues in the two main cities that were taken (which have been renamed Kartoria and Herasa)
The statues show a Thetanian soldier and a Metarian soldier hugging each other, commerating the war.
There are also plans to put up statues of all the past Emperors, as is the custom in all Metarian cities. This probably willnot be done for a while.
Governors have been appointed throughout the occupied territories. While they are all Thetanian, they have sworn loyalty privately to the Emperor.

Yes, I did. However, you must be aware that Mer Des Ennuis is a big fan of anti-armor operations. In fact, our combined total of anti-armor and anti-air weaponry for infantry alone is equivlent to the number of groundforces you have stationed in Thetania.

The elite Deathsbane Tanks are now outfitted with 5 50-calibers.
However, they can move up to 50km/h and have a 180mm gun.
They are expensive fuel-wise, but they are worth it.

OOC: Just to ask, a 180mm gun that travels at 70 km/h seems a bit "god-moddish" since the Merkava, which has a 120mm gun (we will ignore the anti-tank system) does 60 km/h. This is similar to the Abrahams, which does not have the missle system but the same size does 72 km/h. Even the (by comparison) lighter Warrior IFV does 70 km/h (which is more than the bradley)!

The Scorched Earth Doctrine is less for strategic vaue then more to cause as much damage to Thetania as possible.

Many rockets are destroyed, by both point defense and tank SAMs and CIWS. But a few get through, and a whole XM-1 squad is lost.

The Blackwolf Guard are formidable opponents, but nothing stops two .50 calibers. Not against infantry. The XM ans XS tanks lay down very heavy fire.

Assuming that reconstruction is done in my two cities, I am withdrawing all forces from Thetania, stating that mission goals are complete. I will be offering humanitarian aid to any parts of Thetania that need it after this battle.
