New Alliance shifts balance of Power in Kologk

The troops marched side by side, weapons slung over their shoulders, their eyes straight ahead. This lack of looking side to side was a two edged sword. On the one hand, it made them seem like the unstoppable juggernauts they were portrayed to be.

On the other hand… The troops were marching through a dense jungle. Suddenly machine gun nests opened up on the column from either side. The troops were disciplined. They quickly took up positions and began firing back at the source. The fire stopped abruptly. Men rushed where the fire had come from, and found the guns, and those who had been operating them gone. All that was left was the hastily erected barricades designed to protect the gunners. The column reformed. The troops marched forward again.

“A column of loyalist troops was sent through the Kell jungle to seize this position,” announced the self-proclaimed Archduke Nicolas Mott to his inner circle. “As I’m sure you’re all aware, Jabari’s guerillas have no more love of the loyalists then we do. About twenty men made it out of that jungle.”

There were cheers from around the table. Nicolas raised his hand. Silence fell. “Above the obvious cause for celebration is an opportunity we should not overlook. We’ve been looking for a way to make peace with Jabari without loosing face. Him attacking these troops might just be it.”

A few days later…

A radio message was heard on sets across the country. “Archduke Mott has announced a ceasefire with Jabari, the leader of the guerilla forces currently in control of the Kell jungle. Impressed by the guerilla attacks against loyalist forces, Mott offered Jabari an immediate armistice. Jabari accepted, and diplomacy has opened up between these two great freedom fighters.”

Urgent Message
From: President for Life Acton Nekanori
To: All Nations
The disturbing alliance between Jabari and Mott marks an all time low for loyalist forces. We call for all nations to aid us in these trying times.

OOC: Should probably be noted, Nekanori was an oppressive leader. Mott is marginally better, while no solid reports are coming about things under Jabari.

OOC: Is there any way that I could get in contact with these rebels secretly?

OOC: Well for Mott, you'd go about it the same way you would for a normal government. Jabari doesn't have any official means of contact. You could ask Mott to set something up, or you could send someone into the jungle to make contact.

OOC: I think I might do the second one.

The men at military command were busy planning the siege of Arterus, while one general took notice of a report about Kologk. He read it over, and looked to some advisors.

"How long until we can have some guys over there to meet with this Mott?"
"A few days at the most, sir."

He looked down at a map of the country, and looked back up.

"I want the team who was deployed in Wolfensland to be deployed here to make contact with Mott and help supply him secretly. Understood?"
"Yes, sir."
"Good. Get to work."

Those who were assigned to this operation quickly got to work, ensuring that Beta squad was deployed within the hour, so they could arrive in the next few days.

Archduke Mott was sitting at his desk when an aide brought him the paper. "What?!!" he bellowed. "Why that..."

To: The nations of the world
From: Archduke Mott of the Kologkian freedom forces
The so-called president for life, I say so called because such a title implies that he came by it democratically, has issued a plea for help. He grows desperate when the freedom fighting forces of Jabari and my own unite to crush his oppressive regime once and for all. I urge you not to listen to his lies, but instead to aid Jabari and myself in ridding the world of this petty tyrant once and for all.
