CLOSED FOR REGISTERD NATIONS

To Register go to Military Squad Tournament (Sign Up) (http://forums.jolt.co.uk/showthread.php?t=477104)

"Tickets, get your tickets here."

A ticket man stood infront of a large dome where President Andrew N. Volker of the SSUN would talk to annonce the new Military Squad Tournament's start up. Behind him stood the Nerotikan SET team being sent into to field for the tournment and infront of him stood hundreds if not thousands of nerotikan people cheering.

"I will say this and only this...LET THE GAMES BEGIN."

Behind him opened a large curtains to reveal a huge TV screen and a set of ten body pods. The Nerotikan team got into the pods to demenstrate what they do. The TV screen went black then began to gain a visual of the field. The camera jolted around and found the team running around. The began to play an FFA match and the crowd soon saw what the games would be like. Karl Danes, one of the Lt.'s of the team quickly took the lead by killing Andrew Hurandas, Andrew respawned and came back by firing three shots from his computer generated FN SCAR into Arronica. The fight looked real, to the point where when shot the men would actually bleed. The men in the pods though were fine and once the demenstation was over they got out and shook hands. It was amazing and now all they had to do was wait for the other teams to come and show if they had what it took to fight. (A little choppy for a post but it gets the point across ^.^)

OOC: I'm just going to post my arrival.

IC:
The unmarked plane landed at a small airfield, identifying itself as Omega Zulu Three to anyone who asked. Inside, Lieutenant Conners looked out of the small window, and sighed to himself,"Well, we're here."

His Staff Sergeant, Earl Hickey, nodded, reaching up into the overhead storage bin, pulling out a plain black holdall. He unzipped it, looked inside, and then zipped it back up, before slinging it over his shoulder,"The Range Rover is standing outside, Dan"

"Good. Alright lads, get your gear, and get into that car sharpish. George, you drive. I'll ride up front with you. The rest, sit wherever."

*A few hours later*
Having settled into their assigned quaters, the five men had begun to put their equipment together. Althought they'd said they'd only been bringing rifles, pistols and other such equipment, they'd also brought what they normally carried. NOD's were included, extra ammunition, grenades, and other such things that no true professional solider could really be without if he intended to survive. One of them, Norm Hooten, picked up his SAW, and fastened the sight unit to the top of it, checked the action, and then laid it back on the bed, turning his attention to the his sidearm, a good 'ol Browning High Power, one of the best handguns ever made.

Another one of them, Tom Johnson, having throughly cleaned his L85, picked up his assualt vest, and frowned,"Is it just me, or does this seem a little heavy?"

"Check the plates."

He did, and found one in the back. He sighed, and slid it out. George Donegal looked over from fitting the red-dot sight to the top of his rifle,"You sure that's a good idea?"

"Why not? I've done it before."

"Yeah, but we've never faced anything like this before. They could pop up behind us, and cap us in the back. Won't you feel silly then?"

Tom thought about it for a moment, nodded, and slid the plate back in,"I'll deal with it."

Conners had a bowl of soapy water in front of him, and had placed all the parts for his weapon in the water. Many people said this was a bad idea... it had never failed before. He knew this was all just a simulation, but he and his team had decided to bring the weapons anyway. He took each part, dried it throughly, gave the moving parts a light coat of gun oil, and reassembled it, checking the action. It was wonderfully smooth, just as he intended.

OOC: Why have they brought everything with them, I hear you ask. I'll tell you. If they move around with it all the time, it makes it easier to think about it. That's going to help. Plus, I'm guessing you have real life shooting ranges and stuff like that.

OOC: So how is this gonna work? I take it we wait for it to be our turn to fight, then get it on proper. Whats the arena like? Need a description (well, a good description).

I don't have the time to RP my arrival right now, so just assume I've turned up :P

Unmarked airfield

Several hours after their opponent's team had landed, yet another unmarked aircraft, a jet-black twin engined aircraft, touched down at the small airstrip. After a minute or two, the small boarding ramp detatched from the side of the aircraft, as five men, dressed in greyed camaflauge and carrying large bags each, emerged from the aircraft in a line, not saying so much as a peep as they climbed into a waiting SUV and drove to the tournement site.

Velkyan Quarters

The table in the middle was covered end to end in weapons. Two AR-4A2 assualt rifles, disassembled in perfect order, sat alongside a SAW-91 light machine gun, and two SR-2008 .303 sniper rifles, also disassembled. Spare magazines, six suits of Gen. III Interceptor Body Armor, and three DNR-13 recoiless rifles also lay on the table, as a man dressed in fatigues and a white tank top carefully cleaned out his .45 sidearm. Another soldier held an assualt rifle, sliding his red-dot sight onto the rail and a airburst launcher underbarrel. They still had a few days before they're match with Snake Eaters, and they would take all that time to prepare for their eventual fight.

OOC: My map is going to be good 'ol Sidewinder from Halo. Google it for a basic layout.

The Felucan fireteam were keeping to themselves mostly. Being anthropomorphs and all, they didn't want to frighten the other participants or the residents of the host nation. The team had all of their gear assembled, and were going over their FSCA suits, double-checking battery life on the night vision and communications and packing extra cigarette-pack sized batteries into pockets and backpacks.

All of the equipment was in perfect working order, the Felucans waited silent in their black body armor and blank, black-visored helmets. Other than the odd tail sticking out here and there, one might not even notice that they are anthros at all.

Packed into extra bags strapped to their kits are spare camo packets, an overcoat of cloth to be attached to the FSCA suits once they arrived at the battlefield, the terrain yet undecided.

The Frenzian team had checked over all of their kit, cleaned and checked their weapons, and made sure everything they needed was ready. They were nervous but they were confident they would do well, after all the training the had how could they lose.

OOC:After seeing everyone else picking their maps I guess I will too.I would like a ruined village surrounded by forest,at night during a mustard gas attack. The village should have a few blown apart cars,a blown out tank, and lots of rubble in the streets.

I might as well succomb to peer pressure...

Tactical Long Range Recon/ Fast Action Force fire team leader Lt. Col. Rutger prepped his team with issues of rations and magezine upon magezine. Last minute checks were made to make sure actions were clean and barrels clear. Sights were wiped down and tactical ammo distribution packs were tightened. They knew that they were the best and brightest, with veteran expierience with a combined 30 tours of duty and 50 classified fast action assaults. Body Armor was slipped on and boots were strapped. Helmets and night vision gear was pulled on while they brought their weapons to a parafe rest while Rutger gave the mission briefings...
Nakanaori
22-04-2006, 01:20
People were cheering everywhere. It was truly a sight to behold. Nakanaoria's top operatives marveled at the architecture and environment. They had arrived last night and spent the morning sharpening their swords and recalibrating their rifles. The Spec Ops program in Nakanaori erased a soldier's identity, instead, replacing it with a number. They are all trained in CQC kenjutsu and are extremely proficient in handling the G36 variants supplied by Heckler and Koch.

Gear ready, weapons checked, and a good square meal. All set and ready to go.

OOC: do we wait our turns in order from the top of the list down, or do we just play simultaneously? Should I pick a map?

OOC:

Gah, I want a map now :( Can I host one? I'm happy if its hosted in another country, but I'd like a wide open space, Highland style. Sweeping hilly terrain, lots of hillocks and humps and the occasional stream, with one road running down the middle of it.
Frozopia
22-04-2006, 23:46
OOC: Galashiel, its me and you first match. Perhaps you want to play in the Frozopian map? Large empty hilly frozen country side, couple of villages and medieval castle to spice things up a bit. I can draw a map if you host it on a web site.

IC:

The Frozopian jet touched down, the expensive private jet designed specifically to brag about the owners wealth. Of course in this case the owner was the government: They could blow money like that when it was being used for the elite of the elite. Unfortunately it was being misused.

Lt. Conor Anderson staggered out of his seat, his head aching horribly, his eyes bleary.

Damn vodka. Went straight to my head.

Stepping over the remains of what looked like a poker match, he found the rest of the members of the Frozopian guard in a simialar state, one even running past the lieutenant towards the toilets, where Conor could now hear a distinctive wretching sound.

"UP! EVERYONE UP!" He roared, kicking several harshly in the ribs. All the men could do was groan, pleeing for mercy from their ruthless officer.

"UP!" Conor grabbed a ice bucket which had melted over night, throwing the cold bucket of water over a couple of unfortunates.

"UP!"

10 minutes later
The Frozopian guard staggered from the plane, entering the large stadium, the loud cheers piercing their heads viciously. Staring at the relatively alert competitors, Conor swore mentally. This was going to be tough.

OOC: I will talk about the warm up round later....
Nerotika
24-04-2006, 16:57
OOC: Its like a computer program, maps are loaded into the simulater, but if you dont want your crowd in a building that promotes Nerotika then you might want to build a stadium on Sachenn Island, Nerotika. Frozopia I think did that.

The match list is set and the games will begin once the teams have gotten situated. I`ll give one more day for arrival posts and maybe some stadium buildings.
Nerotika
24-04-2006, 18:23
The stadium began to crowd up as people rushed to get the best tickets and the best seats. The Nerotikan team was brought in by bus and people crowded that to just to get a touch of the soldiers or maybe a look at them with their equipment. The Nerotikan team stepped down, they had dust all over them and some of them even had traces of blood on their jackets. It looked as if they had just gotten done with an execution, or at least they beat some one in and got blood all over themselfs. This was partially true though, hey did just get done dealing with a few riots before arriving. The Nerotikan goverment did not want this tournament to let people think that the best Nerotikan Elite squad was to busy to deal with their attacks agenst the government.

"We love you...""You RULE."

Shouts from the crowd made the team members actually smile and Lt. Danes began shaking hands with the people who were throwing there arms out of the wall into the pathway. The other members rushed in and Danes soon followed then the doors shut. The men began dropping equipment into the five boxs designed for them and the equipment was scanned. The weapons and ammo packs and such were displayed on five seperate screens each with a name above them. The computer began regestering the team once they showed keycards to a scanner and then the team sat and rested.

Visitor Halls.

People started getting everything ready for the Nikocujo Team, a man was sitting at a desk writting names into a lable maker. He then posted them on the five boxes and then on the five screens. Nikocujo was written in bold print above the visitor entrance and people started to gather to see the other team. A banner above the bold sign read WELCOME Lt. Col John Rutger, Major Jeff Walters, Captain Sean Fuller, Lieutenant Grant Phillips, Sgt. Major Mike Digman.

The Galashiels team decided to finally show themselves, in the packed Frozopian stadium. Most of the team didn't know enough about Frozopia to write a High School paper on it, but they were more than ready enough to show them, their military prowess.

"Right lads, load up. I want you all to be made ready, safeties on and targets zeroed to maximum engagement range. We'll be pinning them down long before their on top of us."

"Yes Flight!" the team responded in unison. They were all looking as intimidating as could be, wearing their lightweight Kazakh-5 vests, winter scarfs and white flak helmets. Their weapons were on slings down the side of their legs, PLCE webbing making them look even bulkier. All you could see of each was a slit for their eyes. And so they made their entrance.....

They leaft the side room they were in, the Sargeant carrying a large Galashiels flag on a pole. The stadium went almost silent, at this foreign force that few people knew about, clad in white. The crowd parted, and the team made their way up to the platform in front of them. The Flight Sargeant reported to the head of the competition and saluted.

"Zulu, ready to fight." he announced
"Always ready!" yelled the team.

The Frozopian Stadium

The crowd showed little enthusiasm for the newcomers, some even booing, but most clapped politely. Among the crowd were Frozopia's richest and influent, as well as several members of the working classes enjoying their 2 week holidays in foreign waters. There were also several Nerotikan people who had purchased tickets, and of course Nerotikan vendors selling food and drinks to the peoples.

The Frozopian team were already warming up, fighting on a random map named "Tower". It would not be the map the two teams competed on: This was deliberately kept secret, so both sides would be unprepared, although they had fair warning of the climates involved.

The Frozopian team missed much of the excitement as the newcomers arrived, instead engrossed in the game as each individual fought for superiority against computer controlled militias. The team, despite their sluggish start, had successfully captured the central tower and now defended it with relative ease against the computer forces.

The Frozopian presenter stepped forwards, leading the Galashiels team to their booths, each booth held a large screen above it showing what that person would see. For now it was blank. Several other screens were in the stadium, two for the hot spots of the game, one for an overall map: The audience would be entertained.

10 men stepped forwards to help carry the teams equipment and weaponry to the scanner, where it would be scanned into the computers database: One good thing came out of this for the Frozopians: They would have 100% knowledge of other forces capabilities by the end of the tournament.

As the Galashiels team stepped into the booths, they were automatically placed in a simialar but separate team as the Frozopians, forced to fight against the computer militia's using the equipment they possessed. Inside the booths were climate imitations: The men could experience anything from harsh heats to freezing colds.

Within half an hour both teams would be forced to assault each other on the map: "The Frozen Keep".

The Galashiels men stepped into their pods, not quite knowing what to expect. What they found was an absolutely freezing container, a strange contrast to the stadium outside. All donned their Soldiers Heads Up Displays (normal goggles with HUD's, thermal imaging, Night vision, stuff like that) and braved it out.

A team plan had been discussed, and the team knew what they were doing. The crowd hadn't been too appreciative of their presence - Zulu hoped to teach them how to respect their superiors.

OOC: Your equipment would be scanned and therefore used by you in the game. So you wouldnt need to bring in goggles. Have you got an email? I will send you a simple map for you to host or just to use.

IC:
The Warm up round was over. Now both sides were thrown into the frozen country side of Frozopia, a blizzard raging throwing snow into the faces of the combatants and icily piercing the thick clothes of the contestants. Immediatly both sides triggered their thermal imaging: It did not help much.

The two teams found themselves 5 miles apart, but they did not know that. Exactly in the centre was an old medieval castle, and despite its huge size and its raised elevation upon the hill top, it was barely visible through the raging snow.

At its base was an abandonned village, old stone houses and rackety doors, a crumbling church imposing the centre of the village.

Warily the Frozopians eyed the north, knowing that their enemy lay in that direction. It was no longer a game, not in their eyes: It was war.

Trudging forwards, they would be surprised to find the audience watched with mild boredom. This part of the avent involved hiking skills, not the gun fights they were used to on TV.

IC:

"Jesus H Christ its cold as ****!" exclaimed one team member. He spoke for the whole group. They found themselves in the middle of a snow covered plain, with the visibility of about 2 feet. The Sniper was struggling to see the end of his rifle.

Their small and rather undetailed map told them that there was a castle, some villages and a hell of a lot of snow. Well, that and that the enemy was 5 miles south. The plan was made within a minute, and so the team set off, towards the nearest village, in a large, spread out formation, Alpha leading and Bravo at the back. The teams sniper was freelance - he worked on his own. He set off for the castle at a light jog.

OOC: Sent.

IC: The Frozopians had progressed half a mile, before Lt. Conor called a halt:

"The snow is soft enough for our skies."
The men pushed a button in their gloves, and immediatly small skies stuck out of the teams feet. At the same time the small motors pushed them along, and the men expertly guided the skies towards their target: The castle. Soon they were travelling at 20 miles per an hour, despite the steep uphill slope. Occasionally the men had to stop and walk a section of the snow, but they made good progress upwards.....
Galashiels
25-04-2006, 22:12
Meanwhile, the Gala team trudged. The Sniper, codenamed Charlie, hit the edge of the forest on his way to the castle. Fantastic, he though. Dissapearing into the tree line, he tucked branches and leaves into his various elastic bands on his combat suit, merging in with the backgroud. He then moved along, slightly inside the treeline, round the side of the castle. He hoped to get a good view of its main entrance.

The rest of the team was making steady, if difficult progress through the deep snow. They were sweeping round in an arc to the right of the castle (from their point of view) to the abandoned village, just out of range of any snipers that may be nesting in the castle. Either way, there were three objectives here, and they may as well make a stronghold of one.
Frozopia
26-04-2006, 17:01
OOC: Unfortunately you wont be able to see the main entrance from the forrest, the only gate is in the East.

IC:
The Frozopians had luckily made it to the castle first with time for Conor to organise the troops. It was large castle, with one main gate pointing West towards the village and the road and watch towers at each corner. The two snipers were positioned, with one looking through a murder hole on the East wall and the other watching towards the West in the South West tower, towards the village. Both snipers were careful not to be spotted.

The rest of the team defending the main gate and a section in the Eastern wall that was brocken during the World War. Lt. Conor hoped to surprise the enemy: They may think that the Frozopians were still to the south: Such thinking would be costly.

There are some first round changes, I will be up agenst Xeno. I`ll need to change around my post but ya. So Xeno were going up agenst each other in my field.

The stadium began to crowd up as people rushed to get the best tickets and the best seats. The Nerotikan team was brought in by bus and people crowded that to just to get a touch of the soldiers or maybe a look at them with their equipment. The Nerotikan team stepped down, they wore civilian cloths right now but by the size of the bags they carried it was easy to tell that the body armor was packed tightly inside. Guns were shouldered and everything else except holstered pistols were inside of the military backpacks they had hanging low on their backs. The team had a rugged face on and a bit of anger in their eyes. They were ready for this match.

OOC: If Nikocujo decides to show himself I wish him to know that he is being bumped to the second roundor he may be up agenst one of the people waiting to join.

The Sniper found a spot in the forest overlooking the castle, in a natural pothole under a bush. He was unlikely to be seen there, especially while he was wearing half a bush on his combats. Unfortunately, it didn't provide him a view of the castles entrance. However, he had a good view of the ramparts and towers, and everything else.

He activated his Thermal sight, and gazed through it at the castle intricate, if slightly damaged architecture. He could see the outline of the castle and various bits and pieces, and several faded orange blobs. Far too faded to identify as people, but if they moved, he'd notice.

Bravo and Alpha, meawhile, were sweeping round, about a mile away from the castle, to the back side of the village. Once they had it in sight, they moved cautiously for another hundred or so metres.

There, Bravo dug massive holes in the snow, about waist deep, where they snuggled into and set up their weapons trained on the church and surrounding buildings. Alpha began the descent into the village, still out of range of the castle, but still in an area of unknown danger.

"Flight, what's the plan anyway?" buzzed Watt over the radio, with a crackled signal.
"Take and hold the village." replied Watson, his voice quiet in the ferocious wind.
"But where will the enemies be?"
"You expect me to know? If anywhere, they will be to the south or near the castle. We'll get our asses in a building and take a gander at the area."
"Ok....."

At the same time the Frozopian sniper was watching the men enter the village through his long range thermal binoculars. In the distance they appeared as red blobs, and with the blizzard beginning to slow down the image became slightly sharper.

"Sir, enemy spotted in the village." The sniper transmitted the message.
"Acknowlged. Report anything that happens." Replied Lt. Conor.
"Yes sir."

At the same time Conor and two others were setting up booby traps in the main entrance: Detectors were placed on the sidewall: These detected motion, but also the chips on Frozopian combat armour. If the first was detected, but not the latter, they would trigger several small explosives and flashbangs placed in the wall.

"Crap, weathers beginnign to clear. That's our cover gone. Sargeant,g et up that clock tower, see what's up and down." orders Watson.
"Flight" replies the Sargeant, tapping his helmet.

They run across the deserted street to the edge of the church, round to the side door. Watson takes cover behind a wall facing down the road, while Watt kicks the crap out the door and enters, LSW raised. He sweeps the main hall, which is scarily deserted. Theres something particularly disconcerting about a deserted church, he muses.

He quickly darts up the stairs to the church tower, keeping his head down. From his webbing puch he produces a large IR/Night Sight, and takes the SUSAT off his LSW, replacing it with the IR sight, all the while keeping low below the opening. Slowly, he peers through the sight and moves his head up to get a view of the castle. he's far out of range, but it pays to be cautious.

"Bravo, get your asses down here" radios the Flight. About 300m, Corporal Bain feels a sly grin slide across his face, as the flops out his snow hole and pegs it to the village. Perhaps this tactic will fool them into thinking the whole team is in the village - there are enough snow tracks and IR signatures for ten people, anyway.

-------------------------------

The Sniper in the forest is meanwhile enjoying the new change in weather. It is almost sunny on his side of the castle, but still overcast, which is perfect conditions for his IR sight. He checks out the castle in detail, and notices some heavy activity on the East side, facing him. Also, he notices some distinct figures inside the castle.

"Alpha Bravo, this is Charlie, enemies in the castle, looks like their whole squad. They sure can't see me, but theres quite a few of them."

"We need positions for an AT strike."

"The South West Tower seems to be occupied by one member of OPFOR."

"Yeah, cheers, we'll take note of that."

The New Felucan fireteam had already been scanned in and stood like silent, black-clad executioners in the face of a decidedly homecrowd bias.

The Felucans had no supports here, but back home no doubt people would be tuning into their televisions to observe the wargame with a critical eye. They expected their representitives to aquit themselves properly, but the Nerotikans had all of the advantages as far as terrain was concerned.

The stood waiting for the simulation to begin, the blank black visors of their helmets displaying nothing of emotion.

27-04-2006, 15:52
The Nerotikans got into the pods and prepared the go into the field. The pods whirled out a strange noise then the Nerotikan team poped up on the screen. In front of them were the equipment of which they picked up and got prepared to go to combat. Outside the simulation the crowd was cheering as the other pods whirled out the noise and the Felucan team was transported into the simulation.

The Nerotikans sat and waited and the timer sprung and the game began. The team now took no time getting out of there and setting up recon, they had figured they were on the streets, lower section of the blocks. The ruble was piled high and a rusted out bured car sat in the street. The team got to the car and Danes flipped out the bi-pod on his gun and set it onto the car. He left the gun sitting on the car and was given one of the secondary weapons from one of the Sgt.'s. He loaded the PP-2000 and the team went into a nearby building. The left hand side building on the lower street. Sgt. Kulstrat fixed a scope to his SCAR and made his way to the corner part of the building overlooking the center square. He was followed by Hurandas and the two of them set up a small recon position. Danes stayed near his fixed XM8 on the car and stayed on the ground floor as he began kicking over a few poker tables to use as a wall for cover. The other two stayed outside the from enterance and sat on their knees as they scanned the area with their scoped weapons. They both flipped the guns to single shot mode for better accuracy.

The Felucans 'arrived' in the shadow of a large building. They immedietly scanned the area, then unpacked camo kits, slipping the grey and black urban camo patches on over their armor, then strapping on their web equipment. A quick survey of the scene revealed that the building stood between themselves and the enemy, with a pond and some trees across the street. No doubt, the enemy would take cover.

Private Rome moved to the street-side corner of the building and took a brief peek around the corner, seeing only empty street and broken vehicles. With cover from the squad's rifleman, Wise, Rome strung up a claymore to cover the corner of the building and thus prevent flanking.

Meanwhile, Captain Masterson was moving to the other corner. He also took a brief peek around the corner, scanning the buildings across the street for any signs of disturbance.

Oust and Jones stood nearby, scanning different directions of the flat, brown terrain and seeing nothing. The enemy would be within the city somewhere, but training told them to always be aware of the surroundings.
Nerotika
27-04-2006, 17:37
The team moved again loading themselfs infront of the building, they began moving two poker tables out of the casino and into the streets, this would give them a perfect distraction. Danes ordered Kustivotz to reposition the mock MG ontop of the tables. He did so and held position as Danes located Hurandas scoping out the enemy. The team held spread out like this and planned to do so for two minutes or until enemy confermation was detected.

IC:
The traps were laid, the only weak section in the defences the crack in the Eastern wall. Conor was distrustful of that entrance, with the forrest hiding any force so for now it would be better to pull his troops towards the crack. 3 men would defend there, and with a sniper facing either side of the wall Conor was confident that the enemy would find the defences impenetratable.

Jones had his laptop out, a line running from it into one of his helmet jacks. The Felucans were sitting again silent and unmoving, just listening. Finally, Jones nodded. "Yes sir, definate movement to the south-east. I heard a door open and close, and some shuffling."

The fireteam stood and began to advance, moving through the Ceaser's Palace grounds, occasionally peeking out a broken window towards the eastern side of Las Vegas Bvd.

There. Tables laying on their sides out in the street. Rome laid down in a doorway, shielded from the buildings but able to see the tables, his SAW set up on its bipod and peering through the iron sights, watching the tables closely. Wood, maybe a thin layer of metal. It wouldn't stop a SAW round.

Meanwhile, Masterson unhooked a standard issue smoke grenade from his web belt and tossed it into the street at the corner of Flamingo and Las Vegas Bvd.

The smoke quickly enveloped the street.

OOC:

Not accurately, but it's stuff like murder holes and cracks in the wall that allow IR signatures to escape - so you could see a small IR dot at a murder hole and know someone was there, but not anything other than that.

And tower's generally have quite a few holes in them, which would give away that guy.

IC:

"Alpha Bravo, this is Charlie. A few more dots through the sight, they weren't there before. Movement, I'm guessing." messaged the Swan through the Sniper Scope.

"Bravo Charlie, this is Alpha, we are getting the same idea - a couple of signatures are gone from our screen. They guy in the tower is still there I think - wouldn't hurt to nail it anyway." replied Bain, peering through his LSW.

"Roger that, I'll keep you covered from people flanking you from the south." replied Swan.

"Ok Fraser, you get your ass out there until you can get a shot at the castle tower with the AT, we'll cover you. I'm gonna lob some smoke, so you use your IR site. Go!" messaged the Flight.

From his M203 he fired out one smoke grenade, then another slightly further over, clouding the vision. At this point Watt legged it out into the snow dunes, looking for a point from which he could fire.

In a stroke of hopeful skill, the Flight then fired a Flare directly up in the air behind him, so it was impossible to see via IR sight, lest you be blinded.

Watt took a knee and aimed.

The Frozopian sniper swore, jerking back from the sudden flash that was magnified through the IR blindingly, diving to the ground. When a sniper was stunned, it was always a good idea to get cover, and this is exactly what the sniper in the tower did. But it mattered little. The fire power of the opponent struck the far wall, exploding and tearing apart the tower. The remains of the company only heard static through the radio, as their team mate was eliminated from the game.

"Kustivotz, anything going on out there." Danes wispered into his microphone.

"Request radio silence sir." Kustivotz responded.

Kustivotz was eyeing the Ceaser for awhile now, he thought he saw movment and was now sure they were in there.

"Danes, check the ceaser, I think I saw somthing." He said a slight bit louder then a wisper.

The three men in the corner of the building began scanning the palace grounds and begin to spot traces of somekind of movments. A little bit of rubble had been displaced and occacianally they would spot slight traces of footprints. Danes orderd Kustivotzs to pull out from his position and join up with the group.

It's an AT rocket launcher, its designed to knock out tanks, so technically its not a bullet, its a 105mm rocket. I probably didn't make that clear, sorry! Unless it's a big tower (which it might be, I dunno :P ) the tower would be totally destroyed.

Depends on where your sniper was in the tower. If he was near the door, he coulda run for it when he saw the Flare and Smoke 'nades. Anywhere else, like in a prone or crouched position near the window, and he'd be lucky to get away.

IC:

The flair hung in middair until Watt packed away the rocket launcher and got up to dart back to cover, before burning out. However, there were still massive plumes of smoke.

The two Machine Gunners, one with an M-60 and the other with an LSW both opened fire on the orange spots through their IR sights to provide a bit of covering fire, and just the castle in general. Watt danced over walls and fences back to the village as fast as he could possibly move.

After ceasing fire, the gunners would move instantly to alternate firing positions, as not to leave themselves open to counter fire.

After waiting for a moment for the smoke to spread, the Felucans tossed another standard smoke grenade into the street. The heat of the smoke would prevent thermal imaging as the fireteam dashed across the street, past Burbon Street and onto the Bally's property. Taking cover under the overhanging parking area infront of the building.

Shouldering their way through the glass doors, the team emerged into the lobby and scanned the stairwells. Jones whispered over the helmet radios, "That big building next door is where we were getting the movement from."

The Frozopians were now 4, and wary to let the enemy know their position. Staying hidden at the far end of the entrance way, they had plenty of cover and the enemy had no chance of hitting them with such innacurate covering fire.

Meanwhile the sniper was crawling along the roof, now wary of the enemy capabilities. The tower had turned into a death trap rather than a means of defence: This sniper wouldnt make that mistake.

Ok, sorry about the AT rocket. So we are agreed that I can only see certain things (for the spirit of the game)? Also, has the castle got a roof?

Check out the OOC thread by the way - I make my say there. I'm going to try a more direct method, anyway.

IC:

It was a period of indecision. Sit and wait for the enemy team to come to them, or go for another attack.

"Net this is Alpha, we're gonna go for another attack. Looks like our AT's cant penetrate walls, so until we get inside it's gonna be useless. That was a one off. So what we're gonan do - Bravo, create covering fire. Charlie, make sure we aren't flanked. Hicks, your coming with me up to the wall of the tower. Take positions guys!"

So that was their new plan. Bravo moved into positions of slightly less cover, but where they could get a better shot. Charlie stayed where he was, hidden by a snow bank and a bush. Alpha tightened their equipment and grabbed what they would need -

The carrying handle of their weapons, and two 1 kilo bars of C4.

Suddenly the screen above the booth flashed showing an error sign.
It seemed the in game computer database had mistaken the AT weapon for more powerful missile system. The Frozopian stepped back in the booth, as the Frozopian crowd roared:
Immediatly the tower reconstructed itself, with the man inside.

Meanwhile the other sniper was crawling along the battlements. There was nothing he could do facing the East: You could hide an army in that forrest. Instead he would defend the Western wall, which for a moment the team thought had been left undefended. Luckily that had been a flaw in the game: Hopefully this luck would last.
The snow was surprisingly thick on the battlements and crawling along was tiresome, but its what Frozopians were used to. Quickly he transversed the walkways, trying to find a spot from which to sniper from.

Meanwhile, the two men of Alpha team ran as fast as they possibly could to the castle, zig zagging and getting in behind banks of snow as often as possible.

Charlie, meanwhile, decided to do something risky. He covered himself in snow to lessen his IR signature, and started the crawl out towards the castle. Hopefully, no-one could see him - it would be pretty hard to spot him anyway.

With one sniper firing at a long stretch of castle, both snipers were confident they could fire safely upon the enemy. Both men shouldered their sniper rifles, throwing caution to the wind. Sgt Elliot ignored the terribly innacurate machine gun fire pour along the wall beneath his position, instead swinging his aim at the gunner untill the man was in his sight. Elliot squeezed the trigger.

Meanwhile Sniper Private James aimed for the lead runner, firing off one accurate shot at the runners neck and upper boody before the (L1=At bullets right?) the AT bullet tore through his brain, and the man who had died by error before now died by marksmanship. IC:

Game Over

One minute Hicks was running with all his might, LSW in one hand, C4 in the other. The next he was watching an animation of himself falling with a massive hole in his chest and his head held on by a strip of skin on his now non existant neck. He exited the cubicle, and saluted across the room to the man that had shot him, Private James. The crowd was roaring.

M-60 gunner, Bain, felt a jolt in his leg, shoulder, and then numbness. He had been shot. 'Damn, this game is good' he thought. Then, he figured out the couldn't work his right hand, his shooting hand. He yelled and rolled to cover behind a building, leaving his M-60 in the open. There was no way he could shoot that now. Dazed and confused, he propped himself up against a building and struggled for his first aid pack.

Watson, now the only remaining runner, ran into the castle wall and crouched. He pulled detonators out from his pockets and stabbed them into the C4. One bar was buried under a foot of light snow at one end of the wall, while another was hidden behind a brick on the other end. He then dived into a foxhole, surrounded by thick, padded snow about 15m away from the castle. He'd need all the protection he could get.

Watt saw the flash of the Sniper Rifle, then heard the yell of Bain from the other side of the building. He had just killed one sniper, and now he was gong for the second. He put his sight on the Snipers position, and fired.

One shot.
Two shots.
*Click* - empty mag.

His eyes widened in shock and surprise, and he rolled behind the building to change mags, cursing his 20 round mag. He better get ready to join the Flight Sargeant.

On the other side of the castle, the Charlie sniper had crawled out, and come across some Ski trails. So that's how they got to the castle so fast. Along with the Ski trails there was some nice cover behind some rocks, facing the south of the castle. He set up shop there, and scanned with infrared, looking for foxholes. At this range, they should be pretty obvious.

James copied the salute before joining a private box behind the audience to watch the rest of the match. Died twice in 2 minutes, I will never hear the end of this. He thought.

Warned by the death of his partner, Elliot was ducked behind his vantage poin as two bullets hammered into the far wall, followed by an eery silence. Elliot knew not that it was his opponent reloading, it sounded more like a trap. Walking down a few corridors, the last Frozopian sniper message what he thought he had observed to the rest of the team.

Conor and William shared a glance. It seemed the enemy had made a dash for the West wall rather than walk through the obvious entrance. The question was why, but that was obvious too both men. They were going to try blow a hole in the wall, desperate measures and all that. For now the Conor would finish the trap they were laying, and the two others would move to where Elliot had reported the man was running too.....

Bain stuffed gauze into his massive shoulder wound and cursed fluently in three different languages, wishing to hell he'd joined the Air Force. Next he'd shove on a bandage, then god knows what he'd do. Probably become a distraction, knowing Watson.

Watt finished reloading, before forming a plan. He swung the RPG-29 launcher from his back, and loaded an HE warhead into the launcher (that means no wall penetration, but it will destroy stuff....and people....with ease. SO if it doesnt go through walls, it will blow it up). He then swung it back onto his back and ran to the south side of the village, hoping to leg it to a point where he had a view of the castle.

Waston grinned as he pushed the detonator button. He had packed enough C4 to blow down a block of flats against the castle, and took pleasure in seeing it go. With a thunderous explosion that could probably be heard in Galashiels, the C4 blasted out the bottom of the castle, hopfully bringing down the wall and all above it. At least, it would make some nice big holes in the wall.

The sniper, meanwhile, was on the move again. Now moving up the path to the entrance, he could finally see inside the castle, and was hidden nicely in some undergrowth, which he used to stuff in his combat suits bands again.

OOC: What is the inside of the castle like? Please tell me its simple :P

"Net, this is Alpha. Charlie, move position round to the village, and keep your eyes on those battlements, with IR. Anything moves, blast it, 'cos it isn't us. Bravo, on two, lob in some grenades. I don't care what type. Then, I'll move in, and you move too. Bravo Two, you go with him."

At that, Watson moved out of his hole in the snow, along the shattered wall, up to the massive gaping wall. He pulled a FRAG grenade, an HE grenade and a Flashbang off his combat belt, and held them with his fingers. Watt did the same outside at the walls other hole. Bain, with one working arm, joined him holding his pistol.

He edged it over and over, until it was just peeping round the side, but still an obvious target. One armed Bain stood behind him, his pistol raised.

Watt was at the rear of the column, and was scanning the battlements and wall up ahead. They would make a perfect spot for a sniper on the main entrance and the breach in the wall, which he was trained to spot. If the Sniper did show himself, he would invite a 7.62mm AP bullet to the head.

Hurandas backed from the main entrance and walked with Kulstrat behind him toward the hallway that connected the Ballys and the Barbary, Kulstrat took a quick peek into the broken window of the left door, the right door hung by one hinge that was rusting. Kulstrat pulled his head back and flipped out a smoke grenade, he tossed it into the room and waited for the smoke to fill up the room.

Hurandas entered first pushing the left door open slowly with only a few creeks from the hinges. He went into the hallway which was a bit distroyed and had piles of ruble laying all about. Hurandas fliped out the bipod from his XM-8 and fell to the ground. He fixed the gun into its MG option and stuck into the ammo slot a round of ammo in an ammo drum. He lay in position as Kulstrat moved ruble to areas that would both conceal position and look natural.

Danes, Pullotics and Kustivotz followed a little while after behind Hurandas and Kulstrat, they entered the hallway and were greeted with a cuthroat signal meaning radio silence. They each nodded in unisen and moved into position. The three man team exited the hallway through a large hole in the wall of the hallway, they needed to climb some ruble and made a landing noise when they fell to the ground. The team left Hurandas and Kulstrat behind as they moved to an exit door on the side of the Ballys. The team strung up a Claymor as they have already noticed the enemy doing in two placed on the streets. The team proceded toward another exit near the back of the building. The team pulled out a small kit and opened it, pulling out a peice of thin metal that they put into the keyhole of the door. They picked to lock and opened the door entering with guns raised.

Kulstrat had positioned himself proned and had his old 1940's M1 Garand in his hand. The rifle was loaded with one of the two clips he brought of the gun and it also had a modern scope attached to it. The rifle looked slightly funny due to the combination of pre-modern and modern technology. The clank and hiss of a smoke grenade isn't very quiet. The Felucans turned their heads as one towards the sound from below. It would seem they were trapped in the upper levels of the building now, with the enemy on the ground level.

But what to do?

Rome had a wicked idea, and behind his visor grinned viciously as he relayed it to Captain Masterson.

Jones and Wise spread out on the 7th floor of the buildings, each one covering a set of stairs. Mainly listening for advances, watching the doors closely.

Meanwhile, Oust and Masterson were covering the bank of elevator doors in the hallway beside the central set of stairs.

Rome hit the button for the elevator, and waited as it came down and the doors popped open. He quickly rigged a claymore inside, facing the elevator doors. Next, he placed a mini-cam, also facing the doors. He programmed it to his detonator, then hit the #1 button on the inside. He stepped outside and let the elevator close. It began to descend down to the 1st floor.

Rome crouched down next to Jones' laptop and watched the feed from the mini-cam, noting as the numbers above the door ticked down. 6.. 5.. 4.. 3.. 2.. 1.. and stopped on the 1st floor.

Kustivotz and Pullotics knelt down behind seprate benches in the hallway. Danes held out an HE grenade and pulled the pin once the doors moved. Danes stood and look at the elevator with his gun raised, he walked slowly toward the now distroyed elevator and stuck his head inside. He notices a small black object that he supposes is or well was a camera. Danes looked around and noticed several BB holes in the wall of the elevator and realized that a claymor had been placed in the elevator.

"They should really know better then to try to pull that trick on us, well now we know that they are on level 7. So I suppose we will take the stairs."

Jones gestured. They were coming up his set of stairs. The door was propped open, but they didn't look. They could hear the enemy's footsteps on the stairs coming closer and closer. But then they just .. stopped, somewhere close by?

Masterson waved Oust forward. Oust immedietly plucked a grenade from his vest, pulled the pin and let the clip go. It made a soft clinking sound, and began to smoke. 1 .. 2.. and he tossed it over the side of the stairs, where it would explode two seconds later.

Wise and Rome each tossed a flashbang over the side, and they went off with double pops, blinding light and loud explosions made worse by the fact that they're in such close confines.

Rome rushed forward even as some white smoke rose past the 7th floor landing, aimed his M100 SAW over the edge of the rails and cut loose with a long, rattling burst that sprayed rounds below.

Wise ran back to the other stairwell on the opposite end of the hallway and covered it just in case.

"To the wall get on that damn wall."

The group tightend agenst the wall as an explosion sent shrapnel peices agenst the wall only one stair flight below them. Kustivotz reached for the sixth floor door and opened it. Danes rushed to Pullotics who had been hit, and now lay on the ground. A stray bullet had tinged off of a railing and stuck into the upper right chest of Pullotics, Danes left him there and rushed, feeling his way, into the open doorway. The team was now blinded, Danes and Kustivotz had begun to looked away but the shriek of Pullotics turned their heads. The three of them moved into the sixth floor room and left the door open. Danes pulled out a peice of string and tied it to the pin of an HE grenade. He tied the other peice to a splinterd out part of the door (The thing that goes around the door...for some reason I can't remember what its called...sad I know) he then tighted the string to the point of almost pulling the pin and stuck the grenade behind the door.

"Alright looks like were stuck here. I`ll look for a way up other then these strairs, Kustivotz wait behind this desk, if the grenade goes off, spray the doorway."

Hurandas and Kulstrat heard the noises and held position, they knew if somthing went down the enemy, if they killed their comrads, would come to find the others. Kulstrat stood and began to build a better defensive position, and now it reconizable to be a nest. Hurandas picked up the MG and stuck the barrel out of a small hole in the wall. He peered through another hole a little higher and now had the perfect position to firing down the hallway without taking many hits, or none at all. Kulstrat, now kneeling, still had his sniper varient of the M1 Garand and was scanning, through a hole in the ceiling, the windows of the Ballys building.

Pullotics's pod opened up and the man steped out. He was obviously filled with anger and as he looked up to see the monitors he was struck with a bit a horror as he noticed his body laying, now on the ground, bloody and lifeless. Another bullet had ricoched off the railing and hit him again causing the fatal blow, and now he looked at the enemy monitors to see who shot him. After this he turned to the crowd who was so interested in the match they seemed to almost ignor him till he took his seat, whichtime people applauded him and shook his hands.

The 2 Frozopian men were patiently awaiting their foe, taking turns to watch the courtyard so if another flashbang was thrown in, at least one of the men would still be able to fight. It was William's turn to watch when the helmet was held out, and he wasn't the slightest bit fooled. Anyone who had ever watched a war movie would recognise the trick, and William was no different. Instead he grabbed his team mate, and both of them prepared the grenades attached to their assault rifle, before taking steady aim at the helmet. William was confident that the men holding the stick would be within the grenades blast radius.

Both men carefully worked out the trajectory, and fired.....

Of course, the one that had shot the man was Rome. A big, bulky tiger anthro (Distinguishable as such only by the orange and black striped tail poking out of his trousers seat) who still hefted his M100 (http://forums.jolt.co.uk/showpost.php?p=10216659&postcount=28), the barrel tilted down towards the lower floors and spraying. After a few more seconds, screaming and then the sound of the 6th floor door slamming announced that the enemy had cleared the stairs. Rome crouched down and began to buckle into place another 100 round ammunition pouch on his weapon.

Unfortunetly for the enemy sniper, all of the action was occuring on the interior of the building so far.

Jones and Wise ventured onto the 7th floor landing with Rome. They didn't look over the side, least someone be waiting down there. So, they tossed another flashbang down, then looked. No one there, just a closed door. The door was probably locked, though.

The fireteam looked at each other for a minute, then Wise unslung his AT1 Anti-Tank Weapon (http://forums.jolt.co.uk/showpost.php?p=10216659&postcount=28) and quickly flipped through the small instruction booklet. "Sir, says here the minimum arming range is 30 meters. It won't arm."

Captain Masterson nodded his approval, then unclipped a grenade from his vest. Jones did the same, and Oust handled a flash-bang. Wise crouched down behind the railing, took aim.. then fired. The landing filled with smoke momentarily, and with a shriek/roar, the round blasted through the door, ripping it apart.

A half second later, 2 fragmentation grenades and a flashbang were tossed through the door.

Rome dropped another flashbang down the stairwell, incase anyone was trying to sneak up from below. Rome would then charge down, past the splintered 6th floor door, and down to the 5th floor landing.

The team stacked behind the wall heard the thump of the grenade launcher and jumped back, but the man holding the helmet was at a slight disadvantage.

The grenades exploded at his feet and he was sent flying backwards, obviously dead. The other two men were just out of lethal distance, but were showered with mud and stones for their effort.

Game Over

Watson stepepd out of his pod, obviously gutted, and leaving the team with two and a half men...He took a seat and watched the action.

"Yo, Bain, I think we can assume they are in that building then...." says Watt to the man on the ground next to him.
"Idea. I'll toss a flashbang, you get your RPG ready...."
"Ok, it should work this time."

He then pressed the switch on his rifle for the radio.

"Charlie, this is Bravo, we just lost Alpha. Can you grab the MG and bring it up here?"
"Roger that, I'll be in a minute." replied the Sniper, leaving his position in the church tower to go and pick up Bains fropepd M-60.

Meanwhile, back at the tower, Bain used his one remaining hand to grab a Flashbang off his belt.

"Three....Two....One....THROW!"

He lobbed the flashbang into the coutryard, where it went off with a startling pop. Watt then ran out, RPG-29 shouldered, aimed it while standing at the building over the gate where the grenade came from, and fired, before scrambling back to cover. The HE warhead screamed away from the Launcher, before hopefully disintergrating the building....

"Nothing at the windows...we should go up there."

Hurandas nodded in agreement and Kulstrat stood up and was handed his FN SCAR rifle. He steped over the ruble and foward toward the doors that would open up to the Bally's elevator and stairs hallway. Hurandas had yet to replace the MG mode of his XM-8 and just kept the MG ammo drum in the slot, an AR at this point would be useless if they needed cover fire at any time. Kulstrat opened the stairway door to here an explosion and then the thumping of feet running down the stairs then stop.

"I heard danes say somthing about 7th floor. I heard someone going toward us, they could be on the 4th through the 6th."

"Radio Danes and see whats up."

Hurandas nodded in approval and sent a message to Danes who quickly replied.

"We have a man down, Pullotics took a hit and we assume he's dead. They are hitting our position and using flashbangs...lots of flashbangs, as well as frag's. If you could get up here that would be great. Were on the sixth floor, dont enter through the stairwell door, its rigged."

"Roger that sir, were on our way."

Hurandas followed by Kulstrat, began to run up the stairs, bullet holes agenst the walls of the stairwell shows that the way had been sprayed down. The men walked up, they were on the 4th floor when a flash covered the air below them. They heard foot steps and held their guns up ready for anything. Hurandas pulled out a smoke grenade and pulled the pin. A wizzing sound, then three seconds later he threw the grenade upwards and it landed on the sixth floor. Smoke began emitting out and covering the floor entirly. Danes and Kustivotz meanwhile had moved into another room on the 6th floor. The explosion had distroyed their trap and now they waited as two grenades were tossed into the main room. The explosions would have killed them if they stayed, then they heard a flashbang. They now knew the enemy was coming in. Danes pulled the pin on his own flashbang and waited, he threw it after two seconds so it could get distance. The flashbang hit the floor and rolled into the stairwell exploding. Danes and Kustivotz moved toward an office room, they opened the window and looked out, there was no way they could get up to the 7th floor without meeting the enemy.

Rome had seen a grenade go zooming past .. upwards? He quickly took a peek over the rails and saw an arm and a boot. Damn. "Sir, we've got more on the stairs under my position."

Captain Masterson gestured to Wise and Jones, who tossed one more flashbang into the 6th floor hallway, and followed it in after it exploded, each one covering a different direction. "Rome, lay down cover fire and move to secure this level." Said as pop.. smoke begal to fill the stairs.

A second later, the visors on their helmets blacked out automaticly, as a flashbang bounced off the doorway and landed among them. The explosion and the noise stunned Masterson, and dazzled Oust who hadn't been facing the flashbang. Oust grabbed Masterson by the elbow and lead him into the hallway.

Masterson and Oust moved out into the 6th floor hallway, and Oust lifted a booted foot, kicking open an office door. Oust threw in a frag grenade, and they waited a couple of seconds as it exploded. Oust lead the way in with Masterson behind, examining the shrapnel-riddled room with their weapons. "Clear!" Wise and Jones fell back to that office, covering the hallway in either direction still as Masterson took a moment to recover from the noise and the blurry, purple-orange spots still in his vision.

Rome on the 5th floor looked up at the cloud of smoke filling the 6th floor landing and the landings above, then aimed his M100 down and let loose with a long, rattling burst at the 4th and 3rd floors. Mainly just to keep them spooked and to keep them from thinking about the situation. Rome backed up against the door to the 5th floor, ready to make a quick escape should grenades start coming his way.

Hurandas and Kustrat fell back agenst the wall, by now they had made their way to the stairs leading to the fifth floor and were now taking cover behind railing.

"Well they know were here, he's not taking aim though so he doesn`t know exactly where we are."

"Ok, Kulstrat, fire a grenade up there."

Kulstrat examined the area and knew a grenade could hit the target bit it would be an extremly tricky shot. He fliped the grenade aimer and looked through it, he began twisting a nob then fingered the triger for the grenade launcher. Hurandas now had pulled the pin on his last smoke grenade and tossed it up to the fifth floor, he heard it clink agenst the door on the fifth floor and he knew he made a mistake, surly now the man up there would flee. Kulstrat though fired the grenade anyhow. The pop of the grenade coming out of the tube then it running up the air and into the wall. He had fired it toward where he thought the door was and once it exploded, pushing some of the smoke from the smoke grenade away, Hurandas ran up the stairs and began to fire his gun.

Kustivotz and Danes now knowing that the enemy had then cornered took a second to think. Kustivotz by now had peeking out a window that was attached to the door, he saw the enemy go into an office down the hall and clear it out. He knew it was a matter of time before they come to meet them. Danes loaded a grenade into his launcher and aimed it, he was ready and Kustivotz fired a bullet into the glass of the window blowing it out. The grenade was fired next going down the hallway. It exploded a little down the way, a room from the enemy position. Kustivotz fired clip of ammo into the hallway to give cover fire for Danes who had opened the door and entered a diffrent room. Kustivotz turned back behind the wall and took a breath of air, he loaded in another clip with a click and back away from the door.

Rome saw something dark fly up to his level, and mistaking it for a grenade or another flashbang, threw himself backwards through the door. The movement caught his arm on the handle, tearing painfully at his skin. A second later, he kicked the door closed, just in time for it to get peppered with grenade round fragments. Several punched through the wood and struck him. He let out a yell and climbed to his feet, hands moving towards the door handle.

As his hands moved, his thumb caught in the ring of a flashbang on his vest and pulled the pin loose. Even as he locked the door and turned to run down the hallway, the flashbang went off, strapped directly to his chest. He was blown off his feet, vest tattered and fur burnt under it, blinded and deafened by the blast, he fell backwards, M100 firing wildly, punching holes into the wall, the door and the ceiling.

At the booms and the yelling from the stairway, Wise started back out into the hallway, only to have another grenade round go off a short distance away in the room next to his fireteam's position. He backed up instantly, nearly getting caught in the storm of gunfire from down the hallway. He called over his radio to Rome, who wasn't responding.

Bullets punched through the floor in the hallway from the 5th floor, where Rome had his finger on the trigger, shooting wildly.

Hurandas and Kulstrat knew they had hit some one and waited for the firing to go down. They moved up toward the fifth floor doorway. They noticed blood drippings on the ground and kicked the door, which was closed and locked. The door didn`t buge, Kulstrat fired a few shots into the handle and then he kicked it again this time his boot moved foward along with the door. They walked in and noticed a trail of blood on the ground. Hurandas lifted his rifle to his eye and walked forward. Kulstrat was now behind Hurandas with his rilfe up as well. They searched the area and found bullet casings on the floor. A man was widly moving around in the main room in a quick second Kulstrat pulled the trigger of his gun on the man.

Danes and Kustivotz were now waiting for the enemy to make the next move, Danes had his pistol holster uncliped for easy access and Kustivotz in the office room one down had his rifle ready to be lifted and fired. Before much happened though explosions and bullets raged below, a few acually traveling far enough to come up through the office floor where Danes was. They didn`t make contact but they did shatter the office window.

Rome would be tagged 'dead' by the system, in the simulation taking several hits.

Upstairs, Oust poked the barrel of his A1 rifle around the office door, the tiny integrated camera system giving him a view on the HUD in his helmet. On the HUD, a red dot hovered over the broken window on the door at the end of the hall.

And without having to expose himself, Oust triggered his grenade launcher, sending a 40mm grenade round into that office where the gunfire had been coming from.

Using that cover, Jones dashed across the hall and into the stairwell, where he ran up the stairs to the 7th floor. He looked down, seeing only the open door of the 5th floor, so he sighted his own rifle on it and waited.

His gun was still working so he moved out into the hallway with the rifle up. He scanned the area and seeing nothing he moved forward past Danes. Danes had stood up and was now following Kustivotz 3 feet behind him. Danes had his gun up as well. The two of them creeped down the hallway then ducked into another office room.

Kulstrat grabed the M100 off the dead body and unloaded it, he searched for another round and foud one. He loaded the gun up and began to exit the floor with Hurandas behind him. Oust centered the red dot on the camera over the leading man's chest and triggered the weapon, sending bursts of ammunition streaking down the hallway. Oust immedietly dropped down and rolled out into the hallway onto his belly, eye to the iron sights and firing.

Wise stepped out behind Oust, crouched over his partner, also firing bursts from his rifle as the enemy retreated into another office. They weren't sure if they hit or not. Oust barked, "Window!" And Wise fired, blowing out the window on the office door. Oust immedietly fired a grenade round into the room.

On the stairs, Jones fired a burst at the person peeking out the ruined door, then had to jerk his body back as the barrel of Rome's M100 was thrust out and began to launch rounds his way. A stray round bounced off the hand rail and tumbling, hit his visor. He ducked his head back in reflex, popped up and blindly threw a frag grenade down towards the 5th floor door and scrambled through the doorway of the 7th floor. Five men, not one of whom held a commission, unlike any other team. All of which were experienced quasi-Special Forces.
They each handed over their weapons and armour to be scanned; assuming the scanning process would be so accurate as to give them calibrated sights on their weapons.
One or two additions had been made to the inventory; specifically sensor systems, for IR, sound and terawave. For weapons, however, they were set.

After some quick whispered discussion, the two men decided to counter attack. The enemy were down to 3 men, one of whom was injured. All they needed to do was find the enemy: They would either be crawling through the rubble of the hole or the two entrances on the West. At worst they would be heading along the southern wall, but Conor promised he would keep an eye on that wall if the enemy approached there. He would have an eagle's eye view from the southern battlements, as long as he was careful.

So the two men split up, warily approaching the two possible enemy positions: By now they would be entering the large entrance rooms, and assuming they did not run the Frozopians could hold them at a bottleneck till the other Frozopians helped......

Hearing footsteps Hurandas dashed out into the stairwell and ran up to the 7th floor landing. Here he picked up ammo from the body of Pullotics and tossed down Pullotics grenades to Kulstrat who was now comeing up the stairs. Kulstrat had a trickle of blood coming from his upper left shoulder but the bullet had only cut the outside of his skin and was left in a wall behind him. Kulstrat took one of Pullotics Flashbangs and pulled the pin, as he waited to toss it Hurandas flipped out a smoke grenade and pulled the pin of that. Hurandas threw in his smoker and before it went off Kulstrat tossed in the flashbang which went off imediatly inside the front room. Hurandas turned the corner of the door as smoke began to rise up and fill the room.

Danes and Kustivotz were laying on the front wall of the office room as the grenade came into the room and exploded behind a large wooden desk. The desk sent peices of shrapnel everywhere and a large peice stuck into the already wounded Kustivotz, this time killing him. Kustivotz's body lay limp as Danes stood with a wound to his leg. Danes began to fire his gun rapidly into the wall facing the hallway, the bullets went in and out of the wall as he fired his 30 round magazine. He unloaded and reloaded quickly and took cover behind ruble that was the desk and a bookshelf that sate near it.

On the 7th floor, Jones was still moving. He wasn't about to repeat the mistake Rome had made by sticking to one spot for too long. He was manuvering down the hallway, when the 'clink' of a grenade popping out of the stairwell urged him to speed up and take a corner at high speed. Not about to trap himself in an office, he simply took the hallway's turn. Behind him, the smoke grenade went off followed by the flashbang.

The two coming out of the stairs of course, would encounter only the blinding thick smoke, but with no target at all in the same hallway.

As the grenade round entered the office and exploded, Masterson noted two people run past in the stairwell on their way to the 7th floor. He radio'd, "Jones you've got two coming up. Oust, Wise, flank 'em!"

Masterson poked his head into the hallway as Oust and Wise turned to follow the pair of enemies up the stairs.

On the 7th floor, Jones drew his AP1 Striker pistol, pointed it around the corner and fired blindly, mainly to keep the two chasing him penned up in near the entrance to the stairs.

Arriving at the 7th floor, Wise and Oust stepped out, firing their weapons point-blank at the two attempting to chase down Jones. Effectively.. a cross-fire. Jones at the corner of the hall, with Kulstrat and Hurandas in between.

On the 6th floor, Masterson heard only shooting, and didn't even notice at first that the person trapped at the end of the hall was attempting to shoot through the wall. By absolute luck, a round glanced along the wall, striking him in the upper thigh. Masterson fell back into the 'command post' office with a grunt, kicking the door shut with his good leg. "I'm hit!"

Swan was upstairs, and heard running along one of the corridors ahead of him. He thought it through, and decided the enemy would try to intercept him at the hoel he leaft in the wall. So out of his mouth he pulled some chewing gum, and took some trip wire out his webbing. He attatched it to the pin in a gold ball sized HE grenade he kept taped to his helmet (if he was shot in the head he was screwed anyway). Judging from the gunfire from downstairs, his friends needed a bit of help, so he found a staircase and moved down it quickly but carefully.

The grenade explosion blew off the lower torso of Bain who was writhing around on the ground at the time, rendering him instantly dead.

Game Over

He stepped out the cubicle in anger, having been effectively half a man for most of the battle. It felt odd to be able to use his right hand again.

Some shrapnel sprinkled itself into Watt's arm, but he was ok. He decided it was time for desperate measures. He threw a flashbang round the corner, followed by a smoke greande. He then took some a kilo of C4 out of his sidepack, took Bain's helmet off his corpses head and placed the C4 inside. He then placed the helment on the ground, the plan being that the C4 would explode, turning the helmet into shards of deadly shrapnel. He knew the capabilities of the helmet, and therefor knew it would happen. On Bain body he placed a small motion detector, that detects the movements of anything rat sized or bigger. The detector was wirelessly linked to the C4's detonator....

By now the smoke had filled the corridor, and with the flashbang still ringing in his ears he charged down the hall as quickly as he could, towards the door again.

Hurandas and Kulstrat fired back with a cat-like reflex but once a few shots were fired out of Kulstrat's rifle he fell backwards and slid agenst a wall. He had been hit in the gut, his body armor peirced and the bullet that hit him had gone completly through. Hurandas had managed to actually dodge the enemy fire by doing a jump and roll into a cubical. The smoke had cleared by now and the florecent lighting took over, Hurandas now had taken aim and fired a clear shot bullet into the lightswitch turning the lights off. The shot gave away his position which should have been given away the second he jumped out of the firefight. Now with the lights off and darkness shrouding the room Hurandas flipped down a small window on his helmet down to his left eye. He stuck his rifle out into the hallway and turned the eye peice on as the small camera in the gun turned on. He scanned the area and fired a few rounds at the two enemies near the 7th floor stairwell entrance.

Danes had gotten up now and exited the hallway, he dressed his wound with a peice of ripped cloth from Kustivotz's jacket and he had also gathered some ammo. His gun was reloaded and his leg was able to move now that he pulled the peice of metal out of it. Danes had made it down one office room when the sound of a door shutting gave him the signal that the enemy was out there. He examined the hallway and saw a small signiture of blood, the blood was outside of an office room only ten feet away. He pulled his gun to his chin and held it at the ready as he creeped down the hall, one foot after the other.

OOC: As I see this, the stairwell opens to a large office room, in this room are a few desk and along the left hand wall, from the stairwell entrance, are cubicals. Infront of the stairwell entrance across the room slightly off center is a long hallway with office room along the entire left hand side facing the ouside of the building. The right hand side is a smoothe wall till you reach the end of the hallway when it turns and goes down four office rooms on both the left and right sides. Danes and Masterson are fighting from what it seems in the front part of the hallway where there are 5 office rooms along the left side facing the windows. Hurandas, Oust and wise are in the main room that enters from the stairwell. Hurandas is in the cubicles on the left side while Oust and Wise are somewhere near the enterance or in the enterance itself. Wise and Oust, following the Felucan policy never really kept still. The hallway was still filled with smoke, which of course would prevent even thermal imaging. Unsure of where the threats were after they'd fired at shadows looming in the smoke cloud, they continued to manuver. Oust ducked back into the stairwell, with Wise backing up down the hall to the opposite corner from Jones while Jones continued to take cover at the corner, playing it a bit 'deep' to give himself manuvering room in the event of grenades.

When Hurandas stuck his gun out into the hallway, he'd see nothing to shoot at of course. (He or his partner just let a smoke grenade go 10 seconds earlier, remember.)

Wise, who had the best view at this point noted that the smoke cloud went from puffy white, to darker around the door. There was no more light coming out. "He killed the lights in that room." Stepping up to the wall, Wise searched around until he found the breaker box. At that point, he simply flipped it open and shut down the lighting to the whole floor. The 7th floor went black.

All three of the Felucans reached up to their helmets and engaged the night vision. With soft capacitor sounds, their NVGs powering up.

Wise and Jones at opposite ends of the hallway continued to watch the smoke cloud in the darkness, while Oust slowly and carefully crept back down the stairs towards the 6th floor to see how his boss was doing. "Captain, I'm coming back down. We killed one upstairs and have the other pinned down."

Masterson had flipped a desk over onto its side, and was on one knee behind it watching the door, his rifle propped up on the edge of the desk. Just waiting. "I took one in the leg. I'm still at the command post. Watch for him to pass infront of the door to the stairs." Oust positioned himself halfway down the stairs and aimed his rifle at the open, shattered doorway.

William staggered down the corridors, counting the seconds and awaiting the fatal bullet. The flashbang and only barely reached William's eyes, protected luckily by the small alcove he had dived behind, but it was enough to leave him trapped in darkness. In that time he had sprinted blindedly deeper and deeper into the building, following what seemed a general descent and into the old prison blocks. Stopping at last, William carefully felt his way into a small boxed room.........

Conor and Elliot listened to what William had to say on the radio. It seemed it was now 3v2, but William would be out of action for a couple of minutes.

"William keep a grenade handy. If anyone finds you down their, throw it straight into their face. At least it will be 2v1 then."

"Will do. Good luck Conor."

"Who needs luck?"

Following the castle corridors to where they had heard gun fire, the two men stumbled across the deformed body of Michas.

"Booby trap."

"Yes sir. We better be more careful."

"Agreed."

"Charlie, this is Alhpa, I've leaft a trap in the lower corridor, be warned."

He then tried to silently clime the hole in the wall, to join Swan....

He led with his Machine Gun, scanning from leaft to right, down towards where William was silently sitting. Neither knew this, as the room lurked off to the right, around 10 metres in front of Swan.

The flash was fading, or more accurately Williams vision was returning. He found himself in a very small old room, with a little wooden table in the corner. Opposite the room was a rusted metallic door, with a small barred hole in it.

A cell. Im in the dungeons.

With his vision still blurry and his ears ringing, William held his position.

Watt scramled his way in the gap in the wall, and peered into the room it joined onto. He saw a dead body, some ejected rounds....and two shadows in the ajoining room. He gulped, pulled a hand grenade off his belt and tossed it towards the shadows, over the dead body. He then let himself drop, and took cover at the bottom of the wall.

Swan came across a cell in the left hand side of the corridor. He saw nothing when he peered in. There was another one to the right. Especting to see nothing again, he leaned round the corner, MG unraised.

A figure, sitting there in the quiet. Surprised and shocked, he jumped back. Then he had a brainwave. As quickly as he could, he moved the ancient metal door to shut him in the cell, using all his weight to push it shut. He then took cover against the wall, waiting.

Hurandas scrambled to think over his training. He had by now noticed the lights off in the entire floor and had attached a small screen to his helmet, the sound of the enemy's night vision activating distracted the enemy from sounds like those. He turned his night vision on, the screen being newly developed by the nerotikan armed forces was a bit shaky but had set itself in palce once it was fully lit up. The noise was louder than the enemies but it shouldn't have posed a problem. Hurandas had peeked out and noticed the enemy was nowhere in sight. He held his gun close and eyed the room waiting for the smoke to clear out. He had one flashbang left over and knew it would be the beginning to his assault. He eyed the body of Kulstrat who was laying on the ground now. He made a move for the body, he was crouched down and twisting to the left and right as he crept down the pathway.

Danes had now moved in toward the blood that pooled on the ground and dripped off into an office room where the door was shut. He aimed his gun at the handle and fired braking the hande off. This broke enough of the door to the point where it could be pushed open. He kicked it with the tip of his boot and backed off once he felt contact. The door flung open.

Conor just glimpsed the figure throwing something before diving into Elliot, the two men slamming forwards through an old wooden door and into another room that resembled an old dining hall. The grenade blew the door of its hinges, kicking splinters into both men, but they were unhurt apart from a few gashes. Shouldering his assault rifle, Conor pumped gun fire into where he he had spotted his opponent, while Elliot stepped to his feet. Conor pointed to the end of the room where another doorway awaited and both men started jogging that way, keeping an eye on the destroyed door way.

Instead they listened closely for any sounds.

As the door to Masterson's office was kicked open, he fired a burst through the open door. Not seeing anyone there, he walked a few rounds through the frame to either side. "Now, Oust!" muttered over the helmet's private communications.

Oust stepped out of the stairwell onto the 6th floor, lifted his gun towards Danes' back and opened fire.

Watt heard the greande explode and the splintering of the door from the courtyard where he had jumped down to. He also heard bullets whistling out the gap in the wall. He paused to think for a second, and then formed a plan.

He ran back into the hall he had engaged the enemy inside earlier. The bodies were still there, unmoved, but he couldnt see Swan stalking his enemy at the far end. He sheltered behind some rubble against the wall, so he could be seen along the hall but not from outside, and waited. It was quite a nice trap, he felt.

At the far end, Swan came across the first room along the corridor, and the only one without a cell door. He came up to it (the wardens room), took his knife out his pocket and used its reflective surface to see round the corner. What he saw was a man resting against the far wall. With horror he jumped back, lobbed a grenade into the room and ran away as fast as he could.

A bullet caught Dane's back and broke through the kevlar, he fell from that and just in time to be out of the way from several other bullets. The impact pushed him infront of the open door which, though injured, he was able to fire a few rounds into. He heard the bullets peirce wood and he also heard glass shater as his gun went off then finished firing. His back was bleeding potrusly (Spelling?) now. He was laying infront of te open room and he reached for an HE grenade of which as soon as he grabbed it he pulled the pin and threw it into the room. His back was now perminatly damaged, he could barley move and so didn't try. He had managed to place one of his fingers inside a pin of his last HE grenade, he knew that if he was shot the jerking motion of his body would pull the pin out.

Hurandas had made it to Kulstrat's body and began to gather ammunition, his eyes were getting red from the smoke but he forced himself not to iche them. He grabbed an HE grenade from Kulstrat's belt and after taking his pistol and proping Kulstrat's body to look alive along with pistol in hand. It would have been better for Danes if he had actually held onto that grenade for a couple of seconds before throwing it, as the Felucans had done. Five seconds was just too long for a fuse. Perhaps someday, manufacturers might take into consideration short-range fighting like this.

Masterson had his rifle aimed at the door, and when Danes fell in front of it, he was lining up another shot. However, a grenade tossed from the wounded man would bounce against Masterson's desk.. and land directly beside him on the carpeted floor. "Grenade!" He scooped it up and tossed it back at Danes' position, through the door.

Oust however, fired another burst at Danes before ducking into the stairwell when Masterson yelled. He caught a glance of the grenade flying back out the office door to bounce off the wall land 4 feet from where Danes lay.

Upstairs on the 7th floor, the sound would encourage the two Felucans to fire. Jones muttered, "Firing," which warned Wise to pull his head back around the corner, so he wouldn't get hit. Jones fired half a clip down the hallway towards the noise, then backed around the corner to reload. Wise covered by sticking his rifle and head back around the corner.

The smoke was clearing now, showing Kulstrat's bullet-riddled body. "Oust, is he in the stairs?"

Oust peered upwards, then unhooked a frag grenade, flipped the pin off and held it, "One.. two.. three." and tossed it up to the 7th floor landing, just in case. The grenade wouldn't even hit the floor before it exploded, spraying the 7th floor landing with shrapnel. "Negative!"

"He's got to be in one of these offices."

The grenade exploded blowing Danes forward, the explosion from the grenade had killed Danes but it had also cause him to pull the pin on the grenade on his vest. His body now lay near Masterson and the grenade that was slowly ticking down was hard to notice. The grenade looked normal and was attached to the vest next to a Flashbang, without a close investigation no one would see that the pin was pulled.

Hurandas had by now looked through his final peices of arsonel. He had one Flashbang, a Frag Grenade and an HE grenade. He lifted his hand to his radio and spoke.
"Danes Kustivotz, you there? Im left up on the 7th floor and Kulstrat's down."
No response and Hurandas presumed they were dead. He peeked his head out of the office room door and looked threw the green fuzz of his night vision. He had heard the firing a while ago and peeked out to see one muzzle blast before it stopped. He heard a bit of shuffling then an explosion. He saw they had fired upon Kulstrat's body and now had lost his trace. He waited for confermation of the enemy before he began to attempt to eliminate them. He had pulled the pin of his frag grenade and waited the five seconds then tossed it toward where he saw the muzzle blast.

Captain Masterson stood and limped heavily out towards the hallway, when seconds later the grenade went off. Being compressed against Danes' body and all, the blast was effectively muffled. That's why heros jump on grenades, afterall. Even still, Masterson was thrown forward against the wall of the hallway, bits and pieces of shrapnel digging into his body armor. Wounded yet again, he fell to his knees and clutched at his various wounds. "I'm hit again!" called over the squad network. Blood dribbled ouf of the collar of his armor, splattering the floor.

Wise (Who had been watching the hallway, remember) had seen the grenade tossed towards Jones and shouted warning, "Jones! Go!" Jones threw himself backwards away from the corner as the grenade cleared the wall and went off. He was hit heavily, one hand ripped away and riddled further with shrapnel. He'd go down hard on his back, blood pooling under him and moving weakly, "Hit.." said softly.

Wise spoke over the comm, "First office on the right, Oust. 'Shatter Code' in six." He plucked a grenade from his vest and pulled the pin. "Six.. five.."

Oust jacked a grenade round into his M200 grenade launcher and stepped up to the 7th floor landing, pointing the weapon towards the office door that Wise pointed out. Wise was still speaking, "Three.. two.." and Oust pointed his rifle, triggered the launcher.

With a blast, the door to Hurandas' office would be blown apart. Next, Wise tossed his grenade inside, where it would explode a second or two later. Wise kept his rifle up and started triggering bursts through the doorway, incase Hurandas tries to charge out. Oust reloaded the launcher, and fired another grenade round into the office.

The Praetorian Guards would be marched off in 10 minutes.
Vlasov made sure that each had appropriate gear.
A bear-like man who never smiled and wore a beard, he fingered his auto-sniper. As the leader, he was responsible.
Ayanami had checked every part of his Howa. A small wiry man, it was said that he had only missed 3 times in more than 20 years of almost non-stop combat.
Wilcox looked like a normal soldier, other than the gigantic knife on his belt. A peerless close-combat fighter, he checked his favorite weapon, the auto-shotgun.
The only one who didn't have black hair, Bradley's sandy hair stood out as he used the carbine. His career was impressive: He had never failed a mission.
And finally, Masuki. Looked down on by the others for not being officially a member of the Praetorian Guards (Masuki is a Blackwolf Guard, a lower order. However, there are no demolition experts within the Praetorian Guards), he was also small like Ayanami, but highly determined to prove himself. A demolitions expert, he checked the magmum and made sure all the C4 he carried was dry.

The Incognitians entered the stadium, to...well indifference. Anticipation of the match, but apparent indifference as to who won.

Each man entered the pods, and, as far as they were concerned, appeared in a cave.

There was no light; at all. The men mounted the T-wave torches on their shoulders (out of visible spectrum light, can't remember just what the wavelength is) and then put on their goggles.
They could then see they were in a cave. They appeared to be in a large chamber, with two passages leading off to the south east; with Knox and Cameron leading, they moved off down the more southerly pathway.

As the five men entered the cave, they quickly turned the flashlights on their goggles on. They moved up north until they saw a path. One led right, one led left.
"Should we split up?"
"No, not yet."
They all continued down the left path.

The two Frozopians walked down the corridor, finishing off the man on the floor with a few bullets before continuing. Conor was trying to think about his path: In both directions the last survivor on the opposing team could cause danger for the team. However if they turned around and went the way they came from, they maybe able to take him off guard. The two men walked carefully along, glimpsing around corners before entering any new passage ways........

A few minutes later, the men came to a reverse fork, a path joining theirs from the left.
Once they were sure it contained no immediate threat, Knox realised it was the path they had chosen not to follow, rejoining them.
"Ok lads, keep moving."
The next point of interest was a pit in the middle of the corridor. It was...extremely deep. Anyone going down there might survive the fall, but not in any state to be coming out again. Fortunately there was a walkway around it, and the men proceeded on, coming to another fork. At this one they again went right - coming to a chamber that might be defensible.

Here they paused to take stock of the situation.

Checking to make sure his shotgun was loaded, Wilcox silently moved up.
"There's a fork down here. Come look."
To the left was darkness. To the right, Vlasov could see a huge waterfall. No sound came from it. Odd.
The team decided to stick to the left. They approached a shaft.
"Looks like it could be defensible."
"But there's no cover."
"There will be. Masuki, you know what to do."

IC: 03 looked at the GPS map. A river was to the east, a bunker to their south west, and a village to their direct south. All were about one kilo from the team's current location. "How should we get to the village?" 03 pondered. They could climb down the ridges or they could ride the river down the waterfall. Another option was to camp the plateau and cover the village and the bunker from the higher ground.

"All right team! we're going the the river! Activate NOD." The team ran to the river as fast as they could. They knew that the other team would not be in range, so running under cover was unnecessary.

The team would set up traps in the village and engage in CQC if possible, or they would just rig the whole village with explosives.

69 shouted, "Why do they have to make the forest so fucking dense?!?" He clumsily darted through the trees due to the tactical shield he was equiped with.

At last they reached the door leading into the dining room (OOC: I recall it to be a dining room, two entrances, one with the hinges blown off. This door leads to the corridor, containing your trap, which leads to the courtyard and your man.)

The NBC suits were very clumsy to move around in, even for the experienced team. With all the mustard gas in the village, one tear in the suit would spell disaster. That's why the team wasn't going to risk getting grazed by a bullet just to get killed by the mustard gas.

They neared the water's edge and hopped in washing the NBC suits and cooling everyone down. The team stripped off the suits and maintained a vigil on the village. They watched the village through IR scopes and remained in the cool water to reduce their heat signature.

The other advantage of terawaves was that flashbangs didn't really show up. So while the enemy were (hopefully) disorientated, they had to use the advantage.

Cameron and Keane had heard a bang after their flashbangs, and then some shooting from each side. They now moved; seeing one man on his own, Cameron took aim, while Keane kept moving. Cameron fired a burst at him, Keane charged closer.

Meanwhile McNamara was alive, for now. But not for long. Cursing himself, he could feel he was going to bleed to death. Even now he was unable to do much, unless an enemy moved within clear shot of his grenade launcher. And he was already behind the main fight. He sat back and waited to 'die'.

The rifle shot hit him in the stomach, towards the left hand side. With a defiant grin on his face, he let rip with the remaining 80-odd rounds of his 100 round clip at the sniper.
(OOC: As I understand it the caseless round of the ACR cuts down massively on the recoil, meaning he's not hitting the ceiling by his fifth shot.)
Then two more grenades came flying in. The first was to the left; he dove right in response. The second was...further to the left, thank God.
He felt the shockwave pass over - and through - him; objectively he was mildly concussed. Still capable of fighting, but his reactions wouldn't be what they were. He fumbled for the clip of his rifle, turning it around to snap the other one in.

Knox and Nomara had spent a little time scanning the rocks ahead, for where the enemy were hiding. Reckoning they'd worked it out, they popped a grenade each, and sent them arcing in; then watched, rifles at their shoulders, ready to fire at anything that moved.

I thought I said at the very beginning that Ayanami is virtually buried in a pile of rubble.
Having no choice, Masuki moved in, ready to kill or be killed.
Noticing the figure struggling to reload his gun, he let loose with the magmum.
The grenades sailed in.
While they missed Vlasov, one detonated right next to Bradley.
"Game Over"
Bradley swore. 3 on 3.
Meanwhile, Ayanami sneered as the bullets simply deflected off the rubble.
This guy was clear in the open.

With the sniper seemingly focussed on Cameron (being under fire does focus the mind wonderfully, after all) Knox and Nomara moved to follow their grenades.
Each began working around one side of the rock formation the enemy was hiding behind. As they moved in tandem, it was likely both would spot him at the same time.

OOC: As for Cameron...that's not unexpected, but the man is desperate, and even in rubble it'll briefly have kept Ayanami's head down.

IC: The flat crack of pistol shots; a high-pitched WHANG! as one hit the rocks nearby and ricocheted; a sickening crunch as one buried itself in his leg.
"Bastard!"
No mad dash to get the sniper now.
Finally sorting out his magazine, he turned to the guy with the pistol, and began firing burst...pause...burst...pause...burst.

This time it would be Elliot to make the walk. Holding his pistol infront of him, he kept his back to the left hand wall as he began the long walk down the entrance corridor. At the rear end light was pouring in as the sun rose higher and higher, casting shadows over the far dead body.

Conor offered support, remaining crouching behind the blown in door, his gun through the gap. If anyone stepped out, he would shoot.

Shit- at least he was left-handed. But he couldn't fight much longer. The bleeding was bad.
He primed his last HE and threw it in, then fired the rest of the bullets in his magmum clip.
Ayanami fired one more time at the man fighting Masuki.
The fucker was going to go down-now.
Vlasov was in trouble.
Otunumbered, he guessed his foes woiuld advance on him.
Time for something risky.
Blindly throwing a flash to his left, he turned to the right.
Yes-one of the figures was advancing.
Focusing the scope on the auto-sniper, Vlasov let out a long burst.

Cameron fell, cursing, just after finishing one last burst from his rifle. Then the sniper's shot came in, ending the struggle
"GAME OVER"
His curses continued as he left the pod to watch the remaining two men of his team.

Nomara had a flash coming towards him; he dashed forwards, letting it land behind him, and came around the rock to be in full view of his enemy; who was firing, obviously at Knox.
The reaction was instinctive and immediate. Fire down on him; keep firing until he stopped moving. Fortunately he retained enough awareness to stay in cover from the sniper, still up there somewhere.
Knox was hit by a rising spray of bullets from the first in the centre of his stomach, to the third in his right shoulder - not least due to his instinctive dive. He heard Nomara's rifle firing, and put his rifle down to get busy preventing himself bleeding to death.

Holding the odd rifle, Masuki sat down and thought.
Given the situation, he was supposed to go to the other cave and flank the enemy in the other cave.
However, Masuki knew he was too weak to do that.
He decided to move to the center of the tunnel he was currently in, and just wait and conserve energy.
Cursing as he was hit, Vlasov made a risky gamble.
Ignoring the bullets, he continued to fire on the man he had shot.
"Ayanami, kill the bastard behind me." he thought.
Meanwhile, since he had only one bullet left in the gun chamber, Ayanami paused to put 4 more rounds in.

Bullets were still flying around Knox, but his enemy obviously had no clear shot at him where he had fallen, so he kept working on bandaging his wounds.
The one in the shoulder was easily done, the next one down...less so...and the one in his stomach he was unable to effectively close. It would keep giving him pain, and keep slowly bleeding him dry.

Still keeping a wary eye on being covered from the sniper, Nomara moved closer to the man in front of him, and fired again...and again...this one was going down.

SHIT!...all that effort bandaging his wounds....even the most modern helmet couldn't hack a sniper's bullet at that range. He cursed all the more when he saw that Nomara was the only man left alive.

Nomara wasn't exactly ecstatic either, but with the last man facing him directly dead, he now had a plan. Only potential problem was an enemy from another cave, but he'd stay alert - it would be fine.
He'd worked out a route to his goal that was almost entirely in cover, and began walking, crouched low, away from the sniper.

Since he couldn't see the last man, Ayanami took the time to reload the sniper rifle completely.
He didn't need to, but it gave him 10 rounds to use on one guy.
Masuki had been very busy.
Rumaging through the 3 dead bodies in the tunnel, he had found two first aid kits, and more importantly, 7 grenades(Wilcox had 4 and he never used any)
He had made two tripwires close to the entrance of both ways into the caverns.
The two tripwires at the entrance that he had come in had 3 grenades, and the two at the entrance where the enemy had come in had 4.
The two tripwires in each entrance were at different heights, so you couldn't jump over them.
Settling down on the same spot where Wilcox had hidden, Masuki waited for someone to show up.
He had also put dressings on most of his wounds.

Nomara kept moving. He soon reached McNamara's body, and the weapon they had felt the loss of most keenly; his grenade launcher.
For the indirect fighting they had been doing, the combination of explosive power and near-pinpoint accuracy was ideal; especially for being just out of the enemies' line of sight and hitting them with shrapnel.

He began working his way up the cavern again, keeping a careful eye on where he was in relation to the sniper. He would find himself a firing position; then he would send in exposives until he heard either dying screams or movement.

Ayanami was puzzled. Where had he gone?
Well, he would have to wait.
He fired off a round to see if there was reaciotn.
That's when he realized something.
Stalagmites are made of limestone.
Pulling his two HEs, he hurled at them at the limestones nearest to him.
After that, he used his pistol to destroy all limestones and hence all cover within 30 yards.

A pair of explosions; then a series of pistol shots....and lots of disintegrating stalagmites and stalactites.
Nomara watched, bewildered, as the sniper seemed to go wild. Well, he would get as close as he could; the remaining cover would still offer him a shot from a reasonable range.
He worked his way along. Sometimes backtracking, if he was about to run out of cover, but always heading closer to the firing spot he'd identified.

The system is designed for optimum performance at 300 meters but will perform to 500 meters and beyond.
Alliant website on the XM 25 (http://www.atk.com/AdvancedWeaponSystems/advanceweaponsystems_xm25.asp)
Just wanted to get that in before you protest it's impossible ;)

IC: Nomara had worked his way closer, but much further and he would run out of cover. So he situated himself behind a convenient rock formation, put the grenade launcher to his shoulder, adjusted the range, and aimed up a bit. It would fall above the guy; but possibly send some rocks down on to him, and it didn't expose Nomara himself.
He fired. He would wait a few seconds to observe the effects before firing again.
He was still keeping an eye out for any other enemy soldiers - as far as he'd worked out one was unaccounted for.

He couldn't go forward, as there was no real cover over an absurd distance, and the man was clearly waiting for him to do just that. So instead, he began working his way back, to find somewhere to defend.
Back down the chamber, jink left, then right, then turn left into another chamber...a dead end, with two entrances from where he had come in.
(Great Fault Room on the map).
He found a rock that covered him against fire from either entrance, and set himself up there. Grenade launcher in hand, rifle easily to hand....he would wait. They had to come, eventually. And when they did, they would be shot like rats in a barrel.

"Well, that would seem a fairer way to settle things without replaying the whole match."
OOC: I'd use Nomara; the squad know that as well, no need to discuss it.

OOC:Map looks good,positioning is fine.

The men waited. The men could hear the noise of the soldiers combat boots on the floor upstairs. Then the door was blasted off it's hinges and sent flying.Sgt Brook had a plan.He unhooked a flash bang from his tactical vest and ran towards the stairs.Turning around to face the men at the top, he tossed one up and unloaded on fully automatic. He then threw himself back around the corner. He then spoke into his headset.

''Bravo Six,Bravo Six.''

The men knew what this meant and pressed a button to disarm the C-4 trap on the back door. They ran towards the door.

OOC: just to let you know, i didn't put a back door, so we're going to assume that there is a door leading to the ground level behind the green bookcases. There is a flight a stairs that leads to a cellar-like entrace behind the church, that's your backdoor, since the library of the church is underground.
NOTE: the town is filled with mustard gas, just in case you've forgotten. Tell me where your team goes so i can update maps.

IC: 10 saw the man come around the corner, "O shit!" His mind raced, "Grenade!!!" He got down as the man unloaded a clip into the room. 01 - who blew the door with the grenade, was caught off guard. The rest of the team jumped off to the side as the flash bang detonated. 27 who was still in the tower was unaffected and he ran down a tried to suppress towards the door, but it was too late; the Frenzian had taken cover.

When vision came back, 03 called for body check. 10 was fine, as he took cover from the catwalk, as was 27. 69 was by the pews when it happened, he was fine. 03 was good to go.

03 turned and looked for 01. 01 lay bleeding profusely on the carpet. His breath was short and quickly fading. "FUCK!" thought 03.
"Hey buddy, oh-one, you still there?"
"Yes, s- sir."
"Stay with me now, ok? You'll be fine."
69 hurried to them.
"Take his armor off!"
The two tried to stop the bleeding, but he had almost 13 bullets in him.
"We can't save him."
"Oh-one, we'll get those bastards for you."
01 looked up at his team leader and managed to force a smile. "You know, this feels s-so r-real... J-just a-a-a sim-mula-tion... Se-see you laterrr. see you late-" 01's eyes went empty and his corpse gazed on. 03 closed his eyes.

01 saw a flashing red "GAME OVER." He stepped out of the simulator and felt around with his hands; no holes. The Frenzian that 10 took out was sitting on the bench. 01 let out a sigh of disbelief.

During the confusion and the gun fire the team ran to the back door, opened it and got out of there. The Gunner was the last one through and got down behind the bottom of the door frame. He held his machine gun and unloaded on the top of the stairs. At the same time,Sgt Brook ran to the back of the room beside the door, making sure he did not get hit with machine gun fire.He pulled a smoke grenade from his tac vest ann threw it towards the bottom of the stairs. As soon as the smoke covered him the Gunner stopped firing and Sgt Brook slipped out the back door.He then split the men into two groups. The Gunner and Rifleman would stay at the back door and kill anyone who tried to get down the stairs.Sgt Brook and the 2IC would sneak around and come in the front door and kill the men if they had not yet gone down the stairs.
