Setting: Unknown planetary system onboard colony ship Galieen
A life pod opens to reveal a uniformed man, Talis Markman, who, opening his eyes found that he was in a long musty and dark hallway of closed life pods. He clambered out of his own and looked around at the life pod to his left to see a woman fast asleep, “Everyone still sleeping eh?” he said. As if voice activated, lights come on inside the ship. That’s better, he thought and made his way down the hallway to the computer, when he reached the computer, he checked to see how to reactivate some of the ship crew first of all; he typed his password into the computer:
ID: Capt. Talis Markman
Password: ******
Accepted, please enter a command
/requesting immediate revival of all ship personnel
The Computer then popped up another window after a few moments:
Revival of all ship personnel is now in progress, crew will revive in 10 minutes.
“Okay now time to check whether we made the journey successfully,” Capt. Talis then checked the logs of the Galieen’s excursions after the crew finally went into the pods. From what he could tell, the colony ship has experienced major damage to the long range communications and to the minor weapons systems. Not like we really needed those weapons anyway. Talis then checked the logs to find that colonization was a total and almost complete success, the nanite construction crews had almost completed a usable city over the past 200 years, but as he read he found that they were many years off schedule for revival, they should have woken up almost 300 years earlier, during the beginning phase of the construction and terraformation of the planet…
The planets surface is now similar to that of Earths. Fresh water, melted from the polar caps, even fully grown trees and other ecosystems, but no animals, the Animalia Stasis pods didn’t survive the landing…
Walking outside, he was hit with the warm spring air of the new planet, the crystal clear air and the welcoming rays of the sun, a sun not too different from Sol, humanities birthplace… And with the emotions of one who could only be serving his country as well as he could, he hoist aloft the flag on the nearby flagpole, a flag with a Black and Blue Starry Background with the famed Raptor P3X40 printed on the front, the premiere fighter of the Siesatian navy. There were forty of such fighters in the Cargo Ships bay, along with a few Bombers.
Talis smiled to himself, watching as others came from the door,
“Welcome my friends, to the planet Galieen, the newest colony of the United Solar States.” He said, motioning to the flag which was flapping in the breeze.
“Sir, should we begin reviving the settlers?” one of the crewman beside him asked,
“Yes, begin delegating dormitories to them, make sure the larger ones go to the families, and get some of the engineering staff to the power generation facilities before they blow up, who knows how the nanites have screwed up.” He said, staring up to the sky,
“And send a message to any nearby nations asking for help.” He said to the comm. Officer, “We’re defiantly going to need some more rations.”
Message to the Local Nations:
We, the Humans of Siesatia, do hereby declare this planet a colony of the United Solar States of Siesatia. We are asking via this Radio Transponder for any assistance for making contact with our mother country, as our long range communications systems are currently inoperative, and a supply of food until we can get our hydroponic bays producing food.
OOC: Ok, first off, I’m not Siesatia, I’m his little brother, I’m just getting into this, so go easy on me. The plan is, my people still think they’re a colony, and any of the so called ‘local nations’ can help convince me otherwise. All of my current technology is severely outdated in Siesatian terms, there having been over 400 years for them to advance while we were stuck in stasis, and we’re still going to have to form a government.

OOC: So, you're not a colony...
IC: A lone probe droid had been dispatched immediately after the message had been recieved, it now split open on the planet. Emerging was a highly-modified Acklay Droid, the moderately-sized automaton scrabbling out of the droid-controlled pod on its six quick leg units. Scanning the area with a variety of detectors, the droid quickly analyzed the foundation established by the nanobots for the settlers. A primitive establishment, at best. It was more suited to the Dominion colony efforts on Magma and Ice worlds then for a planet that was so abundant in life-giving qualities as this one.
The droid, a master of disguise, activated a short-term active camoflauge to hide it from most sensor sweeps, only high-activity gravitic sweeps could effectively confirm the visual on the droid. Scampering to the community's outskirts, the droid made visual and biological scans of the life-forms that seemed to be utilizing the place. Human in basic form, somewhat similar to the unaltered Dominion biological format for the Amazonian Star Empire. But where had they come from...the organic bio readings were registering a form still vulnerable to various disease forms and physical vulnerabilities. A primitve physical form seen usually in races first entering space-born capabilities.
Scrabbling past a group of unwary settlers, utilizing cover and the superb effects of the camo, the droid made a quick scan of the deeper portions of the prefab installation serving as a primary center for expansion of these humans. This was almost a threat to the Dominion, this settlement's entire existance. Too close to the borders of Imperial Dominion space, this planet had looked ripe for the pickings and establishment of a frontier base station and orbital stardocks for the outborn expansion fleets. Now there seemed to be obstructions.
Still scampering around, the droid's power on the camoflauge abruptly cut out, leaving the combat automaton frighteningly exposed. Avoiding a close group of civilians, the droid backed into a darkened corner, sending the last readings to the orbital probe in space, and activating its defensive laser cannons, priming the guns for attack in case of hostilities.

The message from the "Colony" was recieved by a ship in the service of New Dornalia's Commissariat of Science. Responsible for first contact, it promptly sent a ship to the area in order to reply to the message. Most notably, it carried extra rations to feed the locals. And, it had the communication facilities needed to make contact with the mother country, if so desired.
A reply was sent, as the ship orbited over the planet:
"Message to the Humans of Siesatia-
Siesatians, this is the New Dornalian Commissariat of Science ship Nihon Maru. We have come to help you in your attempts to thrive. We mean you no harm. We do bring you necessary supplies and the ability to make contact, if so desired. Where are you based?"

"<Fleet Lord. Of planet to have found.>"
Eish'naal(Fleet Lord) Xaenin opened his brilliant green eyes, looking to the holographic representation of his warship's prime AI, growling. "<Of planets many to find. To ask of interuption why.>"
"<Of transmission.>"
Xaenin froze, thinking a moment. "... Nlya'to..." ("Understanding yes.") He nodded, sitting silently as the transmission and Mekantan translation was played throughout the bare black Command Core that served as the Fleet Lord's seat of power. He smirked, recalling no such colony of Siesatia. "... Gumatah'zekeh, nlya'ka? <To test them...>"
"<To ask of orders.>"
"<Of fleet to approach. To contact. To demand of surrender.>"
"Tza'to."
A massive burst of energy, thought of by some as space shrieking in pain, marked the entry of a massive black-hulled warship into the space above the world, the black curved spines on it's hull sliding back against it just as three more ships of its class dejumped in as well. The massive Darkships, the Claws of the Hegemony, were nearly peerless warships. The appearance of one was cause for fear. Four, panic.
Lord Xaenin smirked as a holographic display of the planet blinked into being in front of his throne, licking his lips.
"... <Of transmission to begin...>"
"ATTENTION!!"
"You feeble beings exist within the realm of influence of the Neo-Mekantan Hegemony! As such, we demand tribute or servitude. Lest you wish to provoke our wrath, you will comply. Respond, or we will begin bombardment of your world..."

OOC: No, the people think they are still a colony
IC: Captain Talis was sitting on a metal chair within his office, still reading reports of the number of people still in stasis when he got a call on the com system,
“Captain, we have just detected a DataStream burst on our sensors.”
“Someone has already taken interest in us I see, tell the colonists to not engage in any hostile actions if they notice any strange device around, we do not wish to start a war. Tell the guards to search for a device, and if they find it, inform me at once, they are ordered to not engage in any hostile actions as well,”
“Yes sir, over and out.” Replied the man on the comm.
Walking outside, he was informed of a message from an alien cruiser above, running to the communications building, he grabbed the nearest broadcast mike.
Message to Neo-Makenta: (Sies told me to misspell your name)
Unfortunately for you, we seem to already have interested parties in our little planet, we have detected DataStream’s of Alien origin, we might suggest you take it up with them first.
“Sir, there’s a third message,”
“God, how many nations are there in this sector,” he said, picking up the mike again,
Message to Science Vessel:
We are based in an unknown sector, but it shouldn’t be too hard to trace this signal, it is a standard radio frequency. We thank you for your assistance, and will welcome you to land on our planet if you would so desire, as we have some unexpected and unwanted company in orbit currently.

The Nihon Maru's captain replied:
"We have traced your coordinates, and are beaming down supplies. We are also sending down a unit of personnel to assist you. Just a little warning-they will have arms, though only for self-defense."
At the captain's command, food supplies and men and vehicles were beamed down close the colony site. In fact, not but several meters away...
Though these men were ordinary scientists, they were still armed with rail-SMGs in case of attack. Besides that, all they had were scientific equipment and the food...

Message to Hostile ships:
Be advised, that any attack you launch upon this colony will be viewed as an act of war which will force us to take military action against your nation, the might of the United Solar States of Siesatia stands behind us.
Talis sighed, "I am not gonna get a single moment of silence for a while am I?" He then headed back to the bridge to check on the pods, all were working as normal he then checked to see how repairs to long range communications were going.
"Sir, the com. wont be fixed for another 12 hours or more." one of the engineers replied.
Talis then walked to where they were unloading supplies and helped out.

Any ship within the system would pick up the energy readings as another ship entered the system.
"Report."
"Jump successful. Although, we are not in the right system, we are a week off course."
The captain spun around to face the navigation officer, who cringed.
"Another notch Ambrial."
The captain said as he looked over at his second, Ambrial. She wrote something on a clipboard and nodded to Tyranus.
"Prioritize the newest problem commander."
"Yes sir."
Ambrial replied.
"I want us on course within the day. Dismissed."
Ambiral turned on her heels and headed to the lift. The captain went back to watching the viewscreen.
"Bring active sensors online, I want a full report of the system."
"Sir!"
A young man replied before turning to his screen.

The ebon hulls of the four warships flared to life, glowing crimson patterns becomming visible as spines slid away from the hull. Before Tyranus could react, the communications officer interupted.
"Sir. I've been monitoring communications, it seems that the warships are targetting the planet. Something about 'failure to surrender'."
The captain soaked in this new information before sweeping his hand through the air.

The AI nodded, issuing his order to the rest of the fleet. "<To maintain watch over the planet. To destroy them if they attack. To seed Zircon if needed.>"
Xaenin's ship advanced as well, energy crackling along its spines as its main weapons began charging on the surface of the ship. Visible drives. Fighters. These people were fools to challenge a Darkship with such a poorly designed vessel. "<Of fighters to destroy! To target of engines. To fire!>"
A wall of energy erupted from the Darkship, followed by hundreds of small coherent beams aimed at the fighters. With the enemy ship facing them, targetting thier engines would be difficult, but Mekantans weren't picky. Several larger beams lashed out at the hull of the carrier, not caring to aim particularly at anything.

< All wings take evasive actions! >
In a blink the two sides met, the Athear Class Interceptors scattered as dozens of beams struck out at them from all angles. More laser fire filled the void as the fighters tried to line up for an attack run. Five wings of Interceptors managed to break through the flack and their missiles slammed against the shield protecting the weapon systems.

"<Foolishness! To believe of fighters to harm of Darkship!?>" Xaenin hissed, scowling as another solid wave of energy lashed out to intercept the torpedoes.
The wave type weapons, projecting solid energy walls easily half a kilometer in diameter, and the tiny beam cannons kept a constant fighter screen up, warding away the tiny vessels so the massive Darkship could focus on the smaller Carrier.
As the distance between the two ships closed, the weapons fire from the Darkship became more and more off-target, hoping to lure the smaller ship into a false sense of confidence. Xaenin placed a lock on many of the ship's weapons, wishing to see what this new power was capable of before opening fire with solid-round weapons or torpedos of his own.

As the carrier got closer, the command deck was very busy. The captain watched as the strikecraft were drawing away most of its fire, but noticing the defensive walls that the enemy ship could throw up.
"Full torpedo spread, detonate 1km from target. Helm, put me on its starboard side. Tactical, ready full pulsar spread."
Like a stream of minows, the carrier launched its torpedos. Plasma explosions filled the void near the Mekanta vessel, washing over the shields of the spiny ship as it plowed into the cloud. The DO carrier seemed to be lost in the confusion, dissapearing due to the interference of close range sensor plumes. The vessel reappeared a moment later, right alongside the Mekanta ship.
Ten pulsar beams lanced into the vessel.

"<Foolishness!>"
It was starting to become Xaenin's mantra in this battle. Then the missiles exploded a ways beyond his shields, distracting him and his crew long enough for the carrier to execute a maneuver almost Mekantan in it's boldness.
They attempted to broadside a ship larger and more powerful than they... at close range...
Absolute suicide, given that the Neo-Mekantan ship had been limited to only using its forward surface to fire, but that the enemy was brave enough to execute such a maneuver.
They managed to fire off a barrage from some manner of beam cannons before the barriers could be raised, ripping through the weaker undershields and dealing superficial damage to the metareinforced hull of the Darkship.
"<To fire of all! To destroy!>" Xaenin roared, clenching his fist.
The reletively narrow space between the two vessels was filled with weapons fire as the Darkship unloaded a hellish rain of fire at the smaller ship. The plan to lure them in with innacurate weapons fire was abandoned as the targeting crew and computers began shooting to kill. There was little doubt that the Darkship had the carrier outgunned, and the entire starboard side of the hull was being used to channel that superior weaponry against the ship, abandoning the barrier defenses in the process.
Xaenin smiled, chuckling when he saw the smaller ship could take a beating. It had been a long time since an enemy put up this good of a fight.

OOC: Wow, this went far fast.
IC: The acklay droid struggled to remain hidden, it's camoflauge router out of energy, guns powered up in case of hostile action towards it by the colonists. As usual programming went, the droid had sometime ago dispatched a call for assistance and further processing by a standard Dominion aggressor fleet. The call had brought a light battlefleet on the way, and now the ships pulled out of hyperspace...right on top of what seemed to be a bristling space fight between two nationalities. Now the droid could only sit and wait for a pickup crew from the oribting fleet, which had inadvertantly stepped all over a wasp's nest of flurry and action.
Not that the battlefleet wasn't ready for action. Lead by the Vindicator-class Dreadnought Tyrant, escorted by a good-sized fleet of smaller vessels, the armada was quickly diverting power to weapons, prepping fighters and gunships in the hanger bay. Aboard the Tyrant, the commander of the fleet, Lord Kun watched the other fleets exchanging light fire.
"Helm...bring us to bear. Target the more powerful ship with all weapons batteries and prepare to unleash a salvo of death upon the fools..."
"It will be done, my Lord."
Gunners aboard the Tyrant ran to their stations, the turbocannons charging with energy and bracketing target points of the Mekantan assault vessel. Around the Tyrant, two frigates and a battleship were moving into attack formation, the other four vessels of the light fleet moving up from behind.

((I'm going to say that your fleet won't arrive for at least 30mins, as instant transportation of a fleet is unrealistic. This will give us enough time to finish our little exchange.))
With all power to weapon systems, the target left itself unshielded. Pulsars and laser cannons scorch into the hardened armored shell of the Mekanta vessel. Another torpedo spread was launched into the hull, tearing a thin outer layer of the 6km vessel off in shattering explosions.
The shielding system on the carrier took a massive beating. Redesigned to reflect and dissipate a significant portion of Kazeci ion beams, it proved to be a sufficient defense against the Mekanta vessel, though it was weakening at a substantial rate. The captain ordered to shift power to the port shields from all non-critical systems and assign double repair teams to the port side.
With all the attention on the capital ship, the fighters and bombers were unhindered in launching their ordinance, targeting the other side of the starship. Plasma bombs detonated all over the enemy chassis as bombing runs scored hits, cratering small holes into the armor plating.

"Sir, The transmission was intercepted by the enemy vessels." The comm. officer informed Talis.
"Great..." Talis muttered he then went on to the fighter deck of the ship; pilots were prepping their fighters for any defensive actions they may have to take. Seeing that everything seemed to be running along smoothly, Talis then went to the com. to broadcast to pilots their orders.
"Pilots, this is the Captain," As the Capt. talked into the comm., he noticed that everyone stopped what they were doing and listened, "You are not to engage in any offensive combat with the enemy cruisers above if you are ordered to launch, we believe they are going to launch an invasion on our newly established world, we will need your defensive capabilities if we are to survive one."
He stopped for a moment and then continued, "I am also ordering all civilians to go to their dormitories until I say otherwise."
One of his officers then came on the comm., "Capt. to the bridge immediately!" Talis then went down the corridors of life pods, many still occupied, to the bridge.
"Sir, shall I give the order to arm our guards with weapons?" Asked one of the crew on the bridge.
"Yes, and tell them to start preparing a good defense for any invasion." Replied Talis, who then looked down at the screen on the console, watching the fight above them and shook his head.
"This is insane, their technology is far advanced, any defense would most likely be more like suicide, keep any eye on their weapons and shields systems, see if there is anything we can learn from them."

OOC: Instant Transportation? Actually been little less than a day from when i first posted my droid getting screwed...and given that it's now much later. You two can duke it out and finish up if you want.

The Nihon Maru's crew replied to the Sieantians, "We have relayed the message as requested. No reply yet."

((Well this whole event hasn't been more then an hour... And thank you for your patience. You can have your fleet appear after we are done, we'll give you notification when that is. :) ))

OOC: I was told by Mekanta that he was having problems with his computer and to have him leave.
IC: "Sir, the enemy vessels have left, they seem to have jumped out of the system." The crewman beside Talis informed him, with a slight hint of relief.
"Broadcast this message to our friends upstairs" Talis said smiling:
Thank you all for your assistance, things here seem to be under control for the moment, and we are now working on a proper space defense.
Talis then went over the digital map of the city, I have a feeling this isn't over yet, he thought to himself.
Talis then proceeded out to where the party from the science vessel were and said, "I am sorry that we have caused much trouble for your ship and crew, please inform your captain that if he would wish to meet with us, he is most welcome."

The bridge of the carrier was in dissarray as the dark ship withdrew. A conduit overloaded and badly burned a nearby bridge officer. Medics were appearing from bellow ship to tend to the bridge crew. The deck was hazy with the clouds of coolant leaks. Nearby panels sparked as the communication's and sensor officers monitored the withdrawl.
"Report."
"Damage reported on all decks. Repair crews are assigned damage control."
"All Mekanta vessels have withdrawn. No more further contacts."
The captain turned to his second, who was back on the bridge since the battle started.
"I'll be needing your motivational skills to get this ship operational. We've sustained too much damage for the first time out, we are vulnerable. Take inventory of our strikecraft, I want all operational fightercraft on patrols. Spread them as you see fit."
"Yes sir."
Ambiral turned on her heels again and headed to the lift. The captain went back to watching the damaged viewscreen.
"And get someone up here to fix this."

(I hope Mekanta will have his computer problems fixed soon. It is too bad that we didn't get to do the ship to ship combat that we were planing over AIM.)

The captain of the Nihon recieved the message. He then wired back:
"I shall meet with you on the surface. It seems that we have sent a message to your government, but there has been no reply. Perhaps we can try again?"
