the need for an automatic shotgun in the 1010102ian army was clear. 1010102ian designers went to work and designed the cheney shotgun named for the designer, dave cheney.

In fact, this could be considered spam.

Obviously, you know nothing about urban warfare.

Shotguns are largely ineffective on open ground, yes, but in a close quarters environment (such as a building), they are effective because of their close range shot dispersal (an obvious advantage) and their ability to blow doors down. Plus, fully automatic shotguns such as the Jackhammer can fire more than one round per second, IIRC.

Also, there's no way in hell you'll be able to have buckshot be effective at half a football field away.

Indeed. The United States used them to great advantage in WWI, and they were a key asset in trench warfare. The Germans said the Americans were fighting dirty with shotguns, yet they were the ones with gas...

No, shotguns do get decent range. My effective range is about 20 yards with a 12ga and a choke for turkey.

1 quick question: have you ever shot a shotgun? a 10 gauge can hit target the sige of a man at 60 feet with full choke.

No, but really, you will not be using shot guns at 75 feet.

Will you?

I'd think an assualt rifle is better in that role.

That's nice.

Imagine trying to hit a man-sized target at 60 feet with full choke without the pristine firing conditions of the range, and instead trying to squeeze off an accurate shot while someone is trying to kill you in a hazy, noisy battlefield.

good point but with a slug its possible just like shooting an assault rifle. after removing the choke.

Actually, a slug is much less accurate than an assualt rifle round due to the fact that shotguns are smoothbore (decreasing the round's stability, which impacts the accuracy of the shell), and that a shell is quite heavy compared to a normal 5.56mm or 7.62mm round normally used in assualt rifles.

Add to the fact that most assualt rifles have RPM rates ten times this shotgun, along with more than twice the ammunition capacity and far more effective range, I'd have to negate the use of a solid slug in anything other than hunting large game.

They're pretty damn good with large game, too. :p

wrong

A shotgun is a firearm typically used to fire a number of small spherical pellets. The shot is usually fired from a smoothbore barrel; another configuration being the rifled "slug" barrel, which is used to fire a single projectile

You know, I think you have a problem admitting that you may be wrong about something.

Why waste money on a rifled shotgun when you can just as easily purchase an assualt rifle?

because shotguns are good in urban combat and seeing that most combat happens in urban areas it is not a waste of money.

No.

Shotguns are effective in close quarters, not general urban combat. A man on a rooftop can just as easily gun down a shotgunner as he could a rifleman.

wat is wolfenstein?? nd y would v1/2 be dirty?? they were standard rockets!! jackhammers fire 240 rounds per minute coz they r actually firing 10shots at a time... as for urban warfare, if its indoor only then shotguns may be used, otherwise its submachineguns or assault rifles... even in iraq (baghdad): urban warfare, the US army is using an assault rifle the M16, the standard weapon is never a shotgun...

Submachine guns are a poor choice for mainstream military use due to their lack of stopping power and poor effective range. The only reason special forces and counterterrorist teams use them is because they're easily silenced and smaller than normal assualt rifles.

LEARN TO WRITE ENGLISH!
LEARN TO SPELLCHECK!

Shotguns are ineffective.
The description is utter crap.
You give no description or mechanical method for how it works either.

First things first....the barrel is over 3 ft MAJOR no-no!
The weight is WAY too little for the rounds it has and the recoil would bust your arm and the gun!

Shotguns have poor range. They are cheap and ineffective, but deadly.
Rework your stuff PLEASE. Why do I always have to be the voice of reason here, 1010102?
