The Most Dangerous Game (FT; Open; OOC; Sign-Up; Wargames)

Now, the SeaQuestian Empire will be hosting the first International "PaintBall" Wars. All nations wanting to participate will be required to pay a $100 U.S.D. entry fee and a $1,000 U.S.D. weapons fee.

The $1,000 U.S.D. weapons fee will be used to provide photorealistic paint-weapons for your troops you send that look and are operated just like your own weapons. All you need to do is provide images for the construction.

Rules:

1.) Troops only;
2.) No use of leathal force;
3.) If a trooper is hit with a leathal 'shot' said trooper is then considered to be 'dead' for the remaining duration;
4.) If a trooper crosses into the northern hemisphere, said trooper is considered 'dead' for the remaining duration;
5.) No alliances are to be formed pre-game start. If a nation's troops side with those of another nation during the games, that is acceptable;
6.) Only 500,000 troops will be allowed per nation.

The planet that these games are being hosted on is the desert planet Abydos located in the Milky Way Galaxy. The planet's entire southern hemisphere has been set aside for use during the games.

The forces each participating nations sends will be provided with enough supplies and equipment to survive for five years in the desert.

Note: I'll be hosting the games, but I won't be participating.

Feel free to post with comments, questions, concerns, or requests.

Winning nation will recieve a trophy and the pot of all the entry fees.

How many solidiers will be allowed per nation?

Up to you. Just keep it resonable.

Oh, and all numbers will be TG'ed to me during the sign-up phase. When the IC thread starts, sign-ups will be closed, and every particpating nation will be allowed to post their figures here in the OOC thread.

I have a few questions, if you don't mind:

1) Equipment/supplies for five years? Does this mean a camp set-up or will transportation vehicles be allowed? (Lots of potential sore backs here...)

2) Will there be provisions for satellites in orbit for positioning systems, observation, over horizon communications, etc?

3) No armored vehicles/fighting craft, right? Construction vehicles allowed?

4) No air force, right?

Comment/suggestion: I would put a set number limit on troops. Nations could send less, but a maximum is easier to play out.

This could be a bit of fun....

@TP: Good points.

No fighting craft, correct. This is due to the difficulties that will result in rearming them with paint-guns.

As for ground transportation, Jeeps, Humvees, and similar vehicles are included along with fuel with the supplies. Other equipment will include tents, sleeping bags, pro-enviromental pest repellent devices, food, water, and medical supplies. Weapons are not counted as part of the supplies, though 'ammo' is.

No air-force. A strict no fly zone will be enforce for the duration of the games.

@ALL: After some consideration, I've decided to set the maximum troop limit to 500,000 per paticipating nation.

Just these last few questions and then I'll be TG-ing later yay or nay.

1)Artillery? Allowed or not? Same subset- If artillery is allowed, how about missiles? (non-nuke of course)

2)Tethered ballons for observation/communication purposes? Allowed?

This is shaping up to be a long series of infantry skirmishes rather than large scale manouvering.

1.) Artillary. Unless you can figure out a feasable way of making them into paint-based weapons, no.

2.) If you can find the components in the supplies (for example, remove the stuffing from a sleeping bag and inflate it and you'll have a home-made balloon), then yes.

Is this honetly future tech?

Just use a form of the MILES system.

Acknowledged. You're entry fee will be added to the pot. Now, all you need to do is send us the weapons fee and visual diagrams (multi-angle pictures or 3d-holos) of the weapons you will be using for us to create non-leathal duplicates for these games.

Just use a form of the MILES system.

Its FT primarily due to the aspect that's it being held all over the southern hemisphere of one of my MWG planets, the Class H world of Abydos.

That, and I'm an FT level nation, so its only logical.

Oh, and what's the MILES system?

MILES is a system that the US Army uses to engage in wargames. It uses blanks, lasers and laser detectors on personnel and vehicles to record hits, misses, damage, etc.

It also has components for mines, artillery and the like, by using GPS and grid coordinates for explosions and then informing the targets of damage.

I took it for granted that you had a scenario in mind that prohibited use of equipment like this...perhaps to similate a long dirty little war fought on a primative world with no recourse (due to political pressures) to higher technology.

Also to avoid players rguing that their ultra-tight-focus-pulsed-force-meson rounds would never miss and would cut right through your armor. "Paintballing" is simple, you're hit...you're gone. Pure tactics over technology with a judge (SeaQuest) to resolve disputes.

Just my thoughts, I could be wrong...

I didn't know about that. Thanks for the intel.

Ehh, this first one's just to test the waters really and see if anyone would be interested in taking part. If its popular enough, more can be held and one could be done like that.

Basically why I'm doing it that way this first time around.

Just my thoughts, I could be wrong...

Constructive thoughts are always welcome in my book.
