Have any of you played the Myst PC games? I think it would be really cool to play an RP of a new part of the Myst series.

The episodes:

Myst
Riven
Exile
Revelation
End of the Ages

I'm actually in the middle of playing the 4th one in the series. All it would take to play would be a good understanding of how Myst works (or willingness to learn), and a little knowledge about the background of Myst and Riven. (or the willingness to learn about the history)

The best part about Myst is that it actually involves a lot of journaling and writing, perfect for an RP. Not to mention the awesome story lines and exciting linking and incredible worlds and puzzles.

I think this would be really cool to RP... anybody interested?

Depends. Are we following the story line, or creating somethign using the Worlds of Myst?

I've got a decent understanding of how Myst works, but I'm a little fuzzy on history myself. Havn't played the Myst games in years.

It's going to come a little off the story line, but not too much. We have to kind of keep it independant of the story line because we don't want to recreate like another Revelation.

Likely we'll create a hypothetical chapter that contains the main characters from Myst, but does not take the same turns as the games do.

I haven't played any of the Myst games for a long time, but I would be really interested in RPing in the Myst worlds.

Not yet... but I'll write it now:

The Stranger (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Stranger_%28Myst%29) returns to Tomahna (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tomahna) to greet Atrus and his family once again. Appearently he has a linking book to Tomahna to visit anytime he wants. Atrus and Catherine greet him there and they talk for a little while (about how things are going in the Myst worlds).

Back on Earth, an enemy of the Stranger finds the linking book to Tomahna. He links there and finds Atrus' library. Remembering the stories of the past visits, the enemy takes revenge by stealing several books (worlds) and linking there to wreak havoc. It is very likely that this enemy has been to the Myst worlds before.

The Stranger, Atrus, and Catherine must all work together to stop the enemy from ravaging Atrus' worlds and destroying his work.
