Pythogria's Factbook (OOC)

Pythogria
18-04-2006, 02:52
Yes, fear me! I have decided to make...

A FACTBOOK!

Map---

Map of Pythogria: None Available (that I WANT to show)

Climate---

The northern areas are, in effect, arctic. The mountains below are also arctic. Below that, you have weather similar to Alberta, and below that, temperate. The Southern Peninsulas are tropical, and so are the Masiop and Gria Islands.

Land---

The north is glaciers and rock. Below that, the mountains stretch almost from coast to coast and some are 5,000 meters high. The whole outer coast is pretty much 100-foot high, 90-degree cliffs with a slight beach stretching out, but there are little climbable areas. The internal sea is surrounded by beach, and Gria Island is mainly beach on the outer areas, but small cliffs are seen. The plains below the maountains are frozen a bit, and rocky, but below that, just south of Geon, are quite deep and good for growing things. The tropical soils below that grow jungles.

Animals---

Pythogria is home to many animals and plants, some of which are not seen elsewhere. A lizard-like creature similar to a Komodo dragon but that walks like Tyrannosaurus Rex is seen around Mesiop. (It is, of course, a LOT smaller.) Basically, if it's suited to the climate in that particular spot on Pythogrian lands, you will find it. And then some. Parrots, lizards, snakes, and monkeys inhabit the south, bearts, deer, and other temperate animals the middle, and penguins, polar bears, and seals the north.

Vegitation---

In the north, vegitation is rather... lacking, other than a few evergreen forests. The middle hs dedicious trees and bushes, and the south is home to vines, jungle, and coconut trees. An example of a unique Pythogrian spiecies is the Reathled. It grows four feet long, and is two feet in diameter. It is similar to a watermelon, at 99% water, and contains natural sugars, making it very sweet. Thousands of plants happen down there.

History---

The Beginning:

After the Ice Age, and once humans developed a bit of intelligence, the first seeds of the Pythogrian people settled upon an island. Modern Pythogria. They came from what is now the Genisis Islands, part of Pythogria nowadays. Once there, they thrived, adapting to the climate, hunting, settling, and building a civilization. It grew for the next 1,000 years or so. The Pyhoj religion and Pyzkrik martial arts were developed at this time.

The Colonials:

What is now Imperoc Island. Fleeing fro ma tyrranical regime, a group of people steals a fleet of ships, and settles on Gria Island. These people also adapt, but in different ways. They meet the natives. War breaks out. Thousands are killed. Then finally, peace is struck, both sides running out of supplies, people, and will to fight. It is unknown why the war started. At any rate, the civilizations combined. This is also when several mutations in the genome of the Pythogrians occured, thanks to several mutagens from a meteor shower. It is unknown where they came from, but in the end, all it did was make them taller, and make some... unusual mutations. (Silver/Gold hair, red irises, and stuff like that.)

Unity and Strength:

Unified, the Colonials and Natives were unstoppable. Governments were merged, into the current Limited Democracy. Cities were built. An empire forged. It eventually took all of modern Pythogria. The Romans would have been jealous. From here, the civilization grew, conquering nearby islands. At the beginning, it would have been called imperialism, but under a string of benevolent Supreme Generals, it turned into a much safer (and morally correct) form. However, it soon fell into isolationism. Nobody was around to have relations with.

Tech Revolution:

The technology of the Empire soon became much more advanced, with the first steam engines, then first cars (though those were abolished soon), then trains, and... well, the rest is history. In the end, this established the Pythogrian love of technology.

End of Isolation:

Many years and lots of development later, Pythogria elected a new Supreme General. Khonsu Izakabad. This man was the future. He ended Pythogrian isolationism, mainly because people could now actually travel to distant lands. (the ability wasn't new, but it just wasn't used.) Pythogria got allies, began wars, and became the power it is today! It isn't a superpower...

Yet.

People---

The average native Pythogrian male adult is 6 feet, 6 inches tall. The average Pythogrian female adult is six feet, two inches tall. Native Pythogrians (depending on if they are of Native or Colonial descent) are either white, or tan. Hair colors are pretty various, but silver in males and gold in females is seen in about 40% of native Pythogrians (as in, not immigrants or people of different races.) Eye colors such as silver, gold and red are seen in 50% of native Pythogrian births.

Of course, this only counts for about 30% of the populace. The rest are immigrants, or were born in Pythogria but are from different races.

Age Groups---

Infants (newborn-3): 12.6%

Children (4-10): 11.4%

Youth (11-15): 15.4%

Young Adults (16-20): 14.6%

Adults (21-35): 12%

Middle Aged (36-45): 11.8%

Pre-Senior (46-64): 12.2%

Senior (65+): 10%

Transport---

Pythogria, being very environmentalist, does not use cars or roads for travel. Instead, it has built footpaths for smaller nieghbourhoods, conveyor belts for main roads, and bullet trains for inner-city transport or inrter-city transport. Carryalls, planes which pick up things, take off vertically, and set them down somewhere else, also move people around. Ferries are used too. This is all hydrogen-powered.

Government---

Pythogria uses Democracy as a base for it's government, but utilizes the efficiency of a dictatorship. A Supreme General is elected once every four years. He/she cannot change 3/4 of the laws, and has limited control over the other 1/4. They can do whatever they wish within a strict constitution. The Supreme General can be impeached via democratic vote. The current Supreme General is Khonsu Izakabad. Political parties aren't really used. Rather, individual candidates run for office democratically. Nazi candidates are banned, as are candidates that condone things outside Pythogrian law.

Law---

Pythogrian police and law are very strict and firm, bt fair. All drugs are illegal, most guns are banned, and the death penalty is practiced for murder, rape, and other horrible crimes. Police are equipped with body armor, and ZP-1 pistols. Special or heavy units have ZA-1 assualt rifles. Police can shoot violent criminals or those attacking someone. Rascist presentations are also met with bullets. Crime is totally unknown, due to the large amount of police. The average crime rate is one crime per 400 square miles.

Military---

Pythogria uses heavily armed, heavily armored, hi-tech, slow, and sometimes expensive units in battle to win. Conscription is not practiced. The military takes up 1% of the populace, to avoid killing the economy. During war this can go to 4.8%.

Military Breakup---

Imperial Pythogrian Army (Land Forces): 40%

Imperial Pythogrian Navy (Sea Forces): 20%

Imperial Pythogrian Air Force (Air Forces): 20%

Imperial Pythogrian Extraterrestrial Forces (Space/Sattelite Forces): 10%

Basically, they're just in case I meet a "post too big" limit here. Any other suggestions for adding/changes?

What took you so long to make one? :D

Good start, but remember the more you add the more people will be in awe. Think Overkill and you got a good fact book.

Anyway, the best place to start out would be to check out this site (http://www.cia.gov/cia/publications/factbook/index.html) and then add what information you want that you think is important.

Anyway, good luck to you, and enjoy the long hours you'll be working on it. Forget how long mine took, but it wasn't under a day.

That depends on what you think is important. Each factbook is unique to that person. I've have not seen two factbooks that are alike. I can suggest some ideas but really it up to you what you think makes your nation unique.

Well, I mean categories.

Well for starters, break down your military more. What the percent in the Navy, Air Force, so on. What brances do you have? How many miles of paved road do you have? What the crime rate? Average age rate? What type of economy do you have? Who do you trade with- what do you trade? What the orgazination of your forces? Who runs you country? Do you have political parties, if so what are they? What resoures do you produce? I could go on all day. My best advice is to read through the cia factbook I provided. Its a great start- from their, use your imagation.
Cravan
18-04-2006, 05:45
Not really. I do suggest you lower your enrollment in the military, though... 5% is usually the max draft for war time. I use .09%... And I still have around 11,520,000. The rest of my military budget goes towards nice toys.

I want to make sure, cause personally I think the world suddenly attacking me is a little overboard. BUt ok, I can handle it. I'll teach the world why invading Russia has been the end of thousands of armies. And the next four eyars are the coldest in the entire century. Russians won't even be the main cause of death. In truth, especcially for CHileans who are used to warm humid weather, you'll have frostbite and death by freezing in the thousands.

One thing will prevent you from using artillery. One very important thing. It's a single person. General Mud. He's a horrible, evil Russian invention that gets all vehicles and artillery carraiges stuck or broken.

MMMMMMMMM, if I was invading, no they would be very affected. But remember, you will tired out alot easier than the defenses I already set up. Remember I get to pick and choose my land. THere is a reason that no one invaders RUssia even with a huge army. It's that RUssia is impossible to defend, and impossible to take. It's a huge landmass with inhospitable weather, and also while I retreat, I go back onto my supply lines. You will be stretching yours in an area I know intimatly, with cavalry that can harrass you at every turn. In every war Russia has lost, remember it has lost it on someone elses land. NOt its own.
