OOC: Now, there are a few rules about joining:
1.) If you are only planning on joining to try to squash the little guy, then you aren't welcome in my thread.
2.) If you want to join the fun on the planet, then feel free to join the thread.

IC: The Nemesis, not only the flagship of the Shadow SeaQuestian fleet, but also the private ship of Prince Phobos himself, was orbiting an standard sized Class M world in an out-of-the-way star cluster. While it had no strategic value, SSQ was interested in it for its reasources. Of course, the resources could not be extracted while the planet was populated, so the matter became one of depopulating the billion or so natives.

In a different orbital pathway drifted a Necropolis, two Firebats, and a Kraken. The ships began pummling the planet's surface and laying waste to cities. After every major population center had been destroyed, troops would be sent in for the mop-up of any stragglers.

Prince Phobos watched the proceedings from his suite aboard the Nemesis.

Five Days Later...

All the native population centers had been destroyed and seventy-five percent of the natives were dead. There were a few remaining military forces scattered around the planet, but they would be dealt with during the mop-up.

The Shadow SeaQuestian ships ceased their orbital bombardment and began beaming troops down to the surface.

Amoung them were the Gung-Ho Guns. A group of assassins that enjoyed killing for killing's sake. It was a sport, a game even, to them.

The Kraken launched its fighters to take out any native jet fighters that were still flight and combat ready.

Unbeknownst to most of the SSQ personnal, the natives had sent a radio-based distress message into the depths of space. Phobos was aware of the signal, but he decided to let it transmit and not jam it.

Messages

Radio message from the planet:

*Static* This is Governor Thompsons of New *Static* City. Our pla*Static* is *Static* attack f*Static* aliens. They came out of nowhere and *Static*. I don't know how many survived the initial attack, but *Static*. We will hold out as long as *Static*.

OOC: Due to the nature of the message (radio), that means no speedy arrivals. Not unless you give me good reason to accept otherwise.

OOC: I'm intrigued and would like to join but I don't want to waste your time or ruin what you had planned. Are you looking for people to jump in on the side of the natives? Jump in on your side? Just curious as my nation is not a large nation yet and does not have the firepower to engage in a major conflict. I could land ground forces to help out the locals though, or something like that.

1.) The evil side, yes. Part of my planned little war I'm brewing up.

2.) Its radio, MT radio, so light speed. The planet's at around the first Gulf War era tech wise.

With the power of our prayer we know you'll succeed.
We know coz we're everywhere someone is praying.
Your Nation is interesting, we look after sinners, they are the stones of the Church.
The mind is great, like you we stand near by the small one, they are in great number...

OOC: I use BFG ships, just run the German through a translator.
IC:High command sat around the table, debating the message they'd recieved.
"We don't have the men or machines to spare. With only a third of our fores for home defence, anything could happen in their absence!"
"You forget the orbitals, the monitors, and the militias. They can easily buy us time to return."
"What if the foe has an FTL inhibitor?"
"That's a chance that I'm prepared to take."

Eventually, it was decided to send a single Schlaftflotte, considerably less than the usual Beweglischeflotte, to investigate, without support from the army. It comprised a Krieg battlecruiser, two Monds, a Furchtloss, four Klinges, two Feuersturms, and five Kobras.

The ships tore open warp rifts, and began their voyage.

OOC: Just a FYI, but here are the dimensions of the Nemesis:
Length: 6,505 meters
Beam: 4,880 meters
Height: 1,625 meters
As for what she looks like, picture something similar to the Andromeda Ascendent, only black, instead of silver, with the metallic blue areas, red accents, red lighted areas, and blue lighted areas.
The other ships you can find out about by checking out my fleet database thread.

Now, as I don't feel like logging out and logging back in as SSQ this late at night, I'll just use my SQ account for tonight.

IC: Planet's Surface

Caine the Longshot (http://i56.photobucket.com/albums/g166/The_Illuminati_Orb/Character%20Pics/The%20Gung-Ho%20Guns/caine.jpg) took careful aim and fired his custom sniper rifle.

Two Miles Away...

The cab driver never knew what hit him. The round pierced the windsheild and nailed him between the eyes. His cab swerved and hopped the guardrail of the bridge and fell to a firey impact at the bottom of the ravine. It took the two teenage girls he had as passengers with it to a firey grave.

The message ISB recieved was from far away, and was garbled. This one, however, sounded like a genuine attack to some analysts, who surmised it could be signs of trouble abroad. Others disagreed. They thought it was nothing.

However, since the ISB didn't quite know what was what, they elected to send only a small team that would report back later, and see if it was trouble.

Thus a shuttle with several armed agents flew towards the world....

"Admiral, we're overlapped with the target. Warp out?"
"Warp out. Let's act all passive and stuff. By our standards."
"You mean don't no swearing, just nice, U-rated battles to the death?"
Even the Captain had to stifle a snigger as Admiral Schuldorf muttered about today's reckless youth.
"I mean lets not shoot until we know what we're dealing with, and try that stunt again and your in irons, Erhardt."
"Yessir."
The fleet dropped from the warp, in plain site from even a nuclear age sensor post on the planet, and waited for the competition to move.

Orbit

Only the Nemesis was situated in an orbit where she could see the arrival of the Boozian fleet. The other Shadow SeaQuest ships were in geo-sync orbits over targets on the other side of the world.

D.E.S. Nemesis - Prince Phobos's Observation Room

A light on a console lit up indicating the ship's Captain wanted to speak with him. Phobos opened the private intercom channel.

"Sir," said the Captain's voice, "unidentified ships have arrived."

"Have they taken hostile action?"

"Not yet, your highness. It appears that they are waiting for us to make a move."

"Interesting. Ignore them for now."

"As you wish, your highness."

"Now, how are the Gung-Ho Guns doing on the planet's surface?"

"Scans indicate that only twenty-five million of the original two-hundred-fifty million when they went down are left."

"Good. Oh, Captain, have my shuttle prepped. I'm going down. Can't let them have all the fun."

"As you wish, oh imperious leader."

Phobos hit the control to close the channel. The light shining in through the windows shone with reflected glory from his armor and sheathed sword, the Frostmourne.

OOC: Here's what Phobos's armor and sword look like.

The ISB shuttle flew closer to the world. It's pilot manuevered carefully, to avoid slamming into anybody and to stay just out of enemy sensors.

Equipped with a Firefox cloaking device, it was able to mask itself as its crew spotted two fleets in orbit. One agent ran a panorama pic of the fleets with the ISB Command. One fleet was Boozian alright. The other was SeaQuestian, but the insignia and war paint was nonstandard. This was different.

OOC: ND, you should have everything I have in orbit, excluding the Nemesis, read as a SeaQuestian design, only with different paint jobs (basically what they are).

IC: If the ND ship entered the planet's atmosphere, then the Nemesis would pick it up. Not due to breaching the cloak, but by tracking the atmospheric pressure waves caused by the ship moving through the air.

The ISB Shuttle decided to observe the fleets, staying away and maintaining cloak and comms silence to stay undetected. They began trying to get into the SeaQuestian networks to get a sense of what was going on. One of the officers opened up her laptop, and began initiating hacking protocols, trying not to arouse computer security.

IC:"No reaction. Either they've got sensor damage, or their not reacting, and that big one seems in fine shape."
"Let's stick our noses in. All ships advance!"
The fleet moved forward rapidly, making an unnecessary show of closing the torpedo tubes, so as not to provoke hostility.

I'm not really sure that SQ understands what BFG; BFG, I assume, is Battlefleet Gothic; and it comprises of the Space vessels for the 40k Verse. Most notably Battlefleet Gothic itself, which is the Imperium's vessels. Derivatives thereof (Along with the specific vessels designed and built by the forces of Chaos themselves) Exist within the Chronosian Imperial Navy. I will happily direct you to sites that showcase their killing power; unless Boozia wishes to do so himself ^^

OOC: Society-wise, SSQ is based on the Terran Empire from Star Trek's Mirror Universe. Or did I already say that?

IC: The ND ship's attempt at hacking would find that computer security was tighter than a crab's buttox(sp?). Unkown to them, their access of the computer lit up an indicator on the security console on the bridge and automatically sent a worm back along the signal along with a simple virus to keep them busy while the worm browsed their computers. If the virus didn't bother them, they would find that all the files they could access were so encrypted, they couldn't even access a basic history without an officer's clearance code.

A cloaked shuttle launched from the hanger of the Nemesis closest to the planet and descended into the atmosphere.

OOC: Phobos's shuttle launched cloaked as I haven't decided what it looks like yet.

IC: D.E.S. Nemesis - Bridge

"Hmm," thought the Captain, "He said to use my own discreation when dealing with this fleet."

He looked up at Phobos's Command Throne located at the center of the bridge. While not as high as his throne back on the capital planet, it was still a good meter above the floor. Every system, everything on the ship in fact, could be rerouted and controlled from that Command Throne.

The Captain decided to send the Boozian ships a message:

Unidentified ships. State your business here.

Found at http://www.specialist-games.com/battlefleetgothic/Default.asp IC: "Well, come here to further the interests of my country, and my juniors do as well, but would happily pounce on a head-cracking oppurtunity. Now you state yours." The fleet immediatley swung to show their broadsides.

The virus did bother the ISB-antivirus sensors roared as angry messages flashed onscreen and the agent yelled, "S*it!" She disconnected from the SeaQuestian network and the ship's computer then began running antivirus protocols, plus actively going in herself to try and disinfect her laptop.

Still, the anti-virus protocols onboard the ship itself not only picked up the virus, but detected another suspect file to be dealt with (OOC: Your worm). Thus, the agent deleted the file, but began to report malfunctions as she tried to perform disinfections. It would take a bit to clean everything; even with the other agents, who knew some computer skills, pitched in to try and clean up.

OOC: The game is where the stats are found.
IC: Schuldorf pondered the situation. He go with this "Phobos", and maybe get a slice of the system, or ally with the natives, and leave them in debt. The second option seemed to curtail a bigger slice of the system.
"Land all the marines we have available, but keep the ships passive, on full alert. If they move a lift a finger in aggresion, land or space, we'll blow them right to Niflheim."

The worm's effects soon began to take hold, as chaos broke out in the ship. Frantically, the anti-virus tried to roto-rooter out the infected files, but it looked like things were going bad...

The commanding Leutnant groaned. Wizards, Jedi, psions. Whatever you called them they ment trouble. And they always argued about the flows of the force or the danger of using fire spirits and whatnot, while the soldiers of the Schnapsemarinetruppen and their comrades in the other services were left to fight a real war, with ships, and guns, courage. Though it might have been possible to triangulate the shuttle's location through the telemetry sent to it from the Nemesis or from atomspheric turbulance from its passage, I still don't see how you could detect it through its still active cloaking device. Though, I'll let it slide, this time.

IC: Phobos set his shuttle down on the roof-top of a ten-story building in the down-town of the city between the two incoming non-SSQ craft. He got out of his seat, retrieved his weapons, and exited the shuttle.

Looking over the edge at the people scurring about below, he grinned sadistically.

"Hmm," he thought as he licked his lips, "This is going to be fun."

The agents were lucky to be alive...but they took stock of their situation.

They were on a foreign world. Surrounded by hostiles. No shuttle. And only rail-SMGs, a few grenades, and a shotgun capable of slamfire (OOC: term for when you can hold the trigger down and pull the slide repeatedly for sustained fire) for defense. Fark.

Phobos could care less about non-native visitors to the planet when the Nemesis informed him about it over his personnel communicator. He was too busy jumping from roof-top to roof-top scouting for places to plant the seeds he was carrying. They would grow and merge into a plant that drew the life-energy from an area and transported it to a central location, just like the primary one back on the capital planet of Metamoor where a pool inside his Dark Citadel was at the core.

Luckily, just like an Earth bear, the parts you didn't want to eat were the organs that filtered out toxins. Also, as chance would have it, they had actually put the animal out of its misery. It obviously had arthirtis and joint cancer, and would have died of old age with-in a few days.
