Red overtakes Blue(Open-till-I-say-so, MT-Early PMT)

IC:The Democratic Republic of Blue Tide was a small liberal democracy that was about 90 kilometers away from the Eastern Coast of Red Tide. With a population of 14 million, a majority of them Japanese, the nation possesed little threat, militarily, politically, or economically, to the Red Tide Goverment. Blue Tide had little in the way of natural resources, its economy mostly depended on tourism. Its Army had 60,000 men, organised into three divisions, two infantry and one mechanized. The Airforce consisted of a wing of aging F-35A Multi-Role Fighters. The pride of its Navy was a single Arleigh Burke Class AEGIS Destroyer not to mention a few Oliver-Perry Class Frigates and multiple PT Boats and a single, Russian Romeo-Class Diesal Powered Sub.

Red Tide and Blue Tide usually left each other alone, Blue Tide was a beautiful tropical island that garnered many tourists... in stark contrast to the polluted lands of Red Tide, where the Tech-Com Corporation manufactured munitions for the ever-growing Red Tide Military and the Goverment brutally surpressed its citizens liberties.

However, there were two fundemental flaw in the Red Tide economy, it relied on a steady source of titanium, which is what most of the armor of its armored vehicles consisted of. Up until now, Red Tide had been self-sufficient in Titanium, but the supplies were dwindling rapidly. It was becoming increasingly reliant on foreign supplies. Even worse, Red Tide was barely self-sufficient in oil, I say barely because the constant military excersises and wargames used up lots of oil, but with the military continuing to grow, the demand for oil increased beyond self-sufficiency.

Thus it was met with great shock when the Hirihito Metals, a Blue Tidean Corporation, announced it had discovered a rich titanium deposit in Blue Tides only mountain, which up until new technologies that allowed inspectors to penetrate the granite, had remained a bit of a mystery. About a few hours later, the Xia Energy Corporation announced that it had discovered large amounts of oil located in a underwater trench in Blue Tidean waters that could now be extracted using new technologies.

Ironically, this news that promised to enrich Blue Tide would also be its downfall. Has envious eyes in the Red Tidean Goverment and Tech-Com Corporation looked at its eastern island neighbor. Therefore, plans were layed out for Operation 'Canoe' among the leaders of the Red Tide Goverment... the invasion and occupation of Blue Tide.

OOC: If anyone wants to play Blue Tide, just say so, first come first serve, if not I will RP it. Its population is fixed at 14 million. Nobody knows that Red Tide is planning to invade, although Intellegince Agencies who like to make guesses would be able to make really good ones.

EDIT: Oh yeah, this came about due to significant boredom on my part.

A quick question, how well trained is the Blue tide military/ is there any room to bring in other weapons?
Red Tide2
16-04-2006, 19:35
OOC: The Blue Tide Military is pretty well trained, its training is superior to Red Tides Training(which are on the same level as the United States 'training' wise), but they lack the Red Tidean Soldiers fanatiscism, not to say the Blue Tideans are not fanatical, they ARE pre-dominantly Japanese, but they dont approach the level of Fanatiscism the average Red Tidean Soldier has.

As for any more room for weapons, the Blue Tidean Military is kept rather small so as not to have the look of oppression, however, it has an emergency draft during wartime, but doesnt have the sufficient weapons to arm all of the reservists that can be called up. I do fully intend to overrun Blue Tide, whether I can hold it is another matter(yes, there will be a guerilla war).

OOC: I dont have a factbook... I never really conjure up the strength to write one.

As for what I consider PMT, well I consider MT up to 2015, so PMT would be all the way up to 2100. But this is EARLY PMT, so it'll go to 2030.

EDIT: The stuff I use is pretty standard NS stuff, with a few odd ball, PMT, things here and there. For the Army, Armored, Mechanised-Infantry(basicially infantry in APCs with some tank support), and Infantry(men who move in trucks and fight on foot actually). The Armies doctrine is to use the Armored divisions to blast a hole through enemy lines then a combination of Mechanised-Infantry and Armored to exploit the breakthrough, while Infantry Divisions hold the land.

The Airforce is pretty poor, although it has access to state of the art Air Superiority Fighters, it has only a few(3,000) of them total, of which, some are always down for repair. The Airforces job is mainly close air support(flying artillery), strategic bombings, and SEAD(Surpression of Enemy Air Defenses). The Red Tide Military relies on keeping the air clear with its long range, all altitude SAMs.

The Navy is divided into four groups, carrier battlegroups, superdreadnought battlegroups, submarines, and ground based naval aviation aircraft(mainly Tu-22RT Naval Interdiction aircraft).

"...In our latest report we recently confirmed that there has been a large discovery of natural resources on the Blue Tidian paradise. It is said that with recent developments in mining, drilling, and other resource extraction, the Blue Tidians may finally be able to extract them. The main finds are a large ore deposit on the island's only mountain, and a large bubble of oil in a trench just outside the coast. Now a report of Marcus Heart, our reporter at the site."

"Thank you Mary. I'm standing at the entrance of the mining shaft, which is leading directly to the Titanium deposit below. This is truly one of the largest finds in the last ten years, and will provide a massive boost to the island's economy. It is also speculated that due to this find, there will be changes over the entire island. That will be a likely consequence, as the facilities needed for the mining will permanently change the landscape here. Back to you now."

"That was Marcus Heart at the site. In further news, there has been a spreading of rumours considering Red Tidian plans of stealing the resource finds. Red Tidia is currently undergoing a shortage of both Titanium and crude Oil, both of which have been found in large amounts at Blue Tidia. Government officials from both sides deny all possibilities for conflicts, and are claiming it are just rebels wishing to harm the countries who are spreading the rumours. More reports on this subject will follow. This was Mary Johnson, GNN news..."

IC: The 2nd Superdreadnought Battlegroup departed the Naval Base at Crig, Red Tides largest city. It was escorting a series of troop transports, carrying a Army Corps. The ships would not go unnnoticed, so a cover story was launched.

OFFICIAL STATEMENT FROM RED TIDE GOVERMENT
"We are holding military excersises in International Waters, 30 kilometers off our Eastern Coast. We ask that all commercial aircraft and ships be diverted from the area as the exercises will include live missile tests.

Signed, Supreme Commander Gregori McKenna"

Commanding General O'Connor was greatly amused by Red Tide's blatant manuever. He decided that, although his armies were tied up in the Kraven war, he could spare the green SpecOps units.
The next day, 200 soldiers were airlifted to the coast of Blue Tidia.

OOC: What!? That it!? I thought it was like the mechanised infantry in civilisation 3.

IC:
"That is so suspicious." General Roland read the official statement provided by the Red Tidean government.

"I mean the Blue Tide announce their recent Titanium findings, something the Red Tidean government craves, and the Red Tide begin a military exercise at sea." General Roland was talking to himself, he did this often when he was thinking. The report had been handed down by President Anderson, both men shared the suspician, as did the Frozopian Intelligence, but there was no concrete evidense for an invasion. Yet.

But if the time did come, then the Frozopians would use the opportunity to get even with the Red Tide forces. After all they were 1 of the nations that invaded Frozopia, all those years ago.

For now the Frozopians would keep an eye on the Red Tide. General Roland hoped the two nations would cross swords, as the old phrase went. After all the Frozopian army had grown soft, the army lacking the experience it once held where they fought rebels every day. Unfortunately the new softer regime meant this was rare. Only the old Frozopian Royal guard maintained a high quality in their combat and training.

Kerensky
The President sat somberly in his office, looking over the intelligence report. I]Shit[/I], He thought to himself, this doesn't look good... why the hell did we have to have this find during my presidency!

A man walked in, dressed in a general's uniform. "Mr. President, we've had word that other countries would like to send in troops to help us."

"Tell them we'll welcome them with open arms. We're gonna need the help. Get our most elite into the mountains and jungles right now..."

After that, things began moving. 20,000 men began moving into the jungles and mountains of the island while the other 40,000 began fortifying the cities. Each street became a warzone, with barriers at most of the intersections. the tanks and IFVs began fortifying themselves. the beaches were left totally unopposed. they'd let the streets rule the combat...

OOC: A note on Blue Tidian Ground Forces, due to the rather low budget and small military, they are armed with modern(by RL terms) American equipment. The M1A1HA is their primary MBT, their main IFV is the M2A3 Bradley, and so-on and so-forth. Although generally considered modern by real life standards, all of this equipment is pretty outdated by NS standards. I myself use almost entirely custom equipment.

Admiral Turistovick stood on the bridge of SDN-2, a RAVEN-Class Superdreadnought. To the right of the SD was a TSUNAMIS-Class carrier, next too the left of the SD and the right of the carrier were two CUTLASS-Class Guided Missile Cruisers. Then in a circular pattern around the ships were 10 battleships, 5 G(un)-Battleships and 5 M(issile)-Battleships. surrounding them were the twelve TIDAL WAVE-Class Guided Missile Destroyers, and finally the twenty-four MOCKINGBIRD-Class ASW Frigates.

The transports were moving behind the battlegroup. With a roar, twenty H/K-1 VTOL Surface Attack Aircraft lifted into the air off of the deck of the carrier, two contained High-speed Anti-Radiation Missile(HARM) pods, this was for seeking out and destroying the Blue Tidian RADAR facilities. The rest contained Long Range, Anti-Surface Missiles(LRASM). These would seek out and destroy the surface 'fleet' of the Blue Tidians, escorting all of them were twenty H/K-2 VTOL Fighters.

Behind the Admiral stood Major-General Zakharov, the overall commander of the ground forces. The game was set, the fleet was steaming towards Blue Tide, they were 10 kilometers pass where they were supposed to be. Only 50 kilometers remained between them and Blue Tide.

OOC: But the IFV is primarily a armoured people carrier that can fight (or so I think) whereas the Mechanised infantry in Civ 3 was a basically a tank, or so I thought again.

IC:
"Sir the Red Tide have brocken cover. They advance upon the Blue Tide island(?) as we speak, or at least according to our satellite." The technician excitedly radioed down the news to the General Roland, who looked at President, as the two men sat in their office.

"It seems the Red Tide forces have dropped their pretense and are going in for the kill. The decision is yours sir."

President Anderson nodded.
"Our first step will be made to persuade the Red Tide forces to relent on their attack. Our next will be to offer assistance to the Blue tide. I cannot officially declare war on the Red Tide, but we can give the Blue Tide satellite and intel information, and maybe weaponry for any drafting scheme."

"Perhaps a more forceful step is required?"

"Full blown war would mean fighting a country the size 4 times the size of our own. I know you want revenge General, but we must think about it clearly. Do we wish to be invaded again? No. Maybe at one time we can offer military assistance. That time is not now."

We noticed... what we'll need is anti-armor missiles Airdropped into the jungles at these coordinates, plus the intel would be good. If you could insert Spec Ops soldiers to help with the insurgency... there's no way we can take them in open combat

All along the coast, out dated Exocet missile batteries began warming up. Each battery has 5 exocets, and there are 20 batteries. a message was sent to the Red Tide Fleet
<WARNING> YOU ARE ENTERING A RESTRICTED AREA, YOU HAVE TEN KILOMETERS TO TURN AROUND, WE SUGGEST YOU DO SO.

no radar stations lit up anywhere, except for passive radars and IR scanners around the cities, all of which, undetectable, were looking for any aircraft at all. Their beest hope was that they wouldn't want civillian casualties.

OOC: For intel, you will have to depend upon what Red Tide says is acceptable and what isn't. We have satellites orbitting above him and few spy planes, so we have general idea of what forces he has gathered. Other than that......well Im sure the Red Tide keep a tight hold on info.

IC:

General Roland read the transmission and distributed the orders. Dropping the weapons would occur as soon as possible, as the planes were already on their way. Roland was glad he had anticipated what the Blue Tide would require: After all the Frozopians had fought them before. The intell could largely be radioed through, and Rolands technicians were doing it already. Accurate estimates based on info gathered by spy planes and satellites would give a rough idea of the Red Tide numbers and what forces they composed of, as well as their location.

In the cargo planes were 100's of Frozopian Flare XB3 and Stinging Bee RB21Anti armour missile weapons, the first one designed for longer range powerfull anti-armour piercing missiles, the other for lighter use. There were also thousands of Semi-Automatic Conscript Rifles, designed for, as the title suggested, conscripts. Although not terribly effective, they were surprisingly accurate at long ranges and very easy to us. There was also a large amount of combat armour, using synthetic material that was similiar but superior to Kevlar.

The 2 cargo planes were guarded by 30 unmanned Frozopian Pirates of the Skies, and all of the aircrafts were equipped with stealth systems, although those on the cargo planes were basic to say the least. They could absorb RADAR rather than reflect it, but it might not be effective for other more sophisticated detection systems.

There was also preparation to send in some sort of land force, composed of Frozopian Royal Guard. They would merely cause havoc for the Red Tideans: They would not be numerous enough to stop them.

The fleet , curiously enough, halted five kilometers from the restricted zone and sat there. Unseen on any of Blue Tides sensors, however, was a Dark Star Unmanned Arial Vehicle, launched from the carrier. It cruised nicely along at 60,000 feet, giving off virtually no RADAR or heat signature, lights with a auto-dialer for the brightness rendered it naked to the human eyes. The multiple, colored, high definition cameras utilised a vareity of sensors to detect enemy positions. They could zoom far enough in that they could even see through camofluage.

The Dark Star hovered moved around the coast, scanning for any Anti-Ship Missile batteries.

"...Last time we told you about the large discovery of raw materials on the island of Blue Tidia and it's possible consequences. Right now, the predictions made by inhabitants of Blue Tidia appear to have escalated in true paranoia. Our reporter Marcus Heart who is still at the site will elaborate."

"Since my last report there has been a lot of activity at this island. People have began barricading streets and buildings, Frozopian aircraft have been passing over the skies, and the Blue Tidian army is being mobilized. This all appears to confirm the rumours about Red Tidia planning an attack on the island."

"But if the Red Tidian government claims they are only out there for practice, why is everybody insisting they are after an attack on Blue Tidia? Relationships have never been bad between the two islands."

"Unfortunately that was not the case. Both islands have been ignoring eachother most of the time as there was no reason to do otherwise. But now Blue Tidia has something Red Tidia wants, things are changing rapidly. The interfering of other countries in this matter also seem to indicate something is about to happen. I will report on it when it does."

"Thank you Marcus. Now in further news, the official statement of Red Tidia has been called a blatant lie by Blue Tidian protestors. They claim that this is just a weak attempt of masking Red Tidia's true goal, the conquering of Blue Tidia. However, the Red Tidian government continues to deny any hostile plans concerning Blue Tidia. More on this in our next report, we will now continue with other news..."

OOC: Sure thing, we can say the auto-brightness dialer that keeps it invisible is malfunctioning.

The Red Tidean Battlefleet consists of:
1 RAVEN-Class Superdreadnought.
1 TSUNAMIS-Class VTOL Supercarrier
2 CUTLASS-Class AEGIS Cruisers
5 M(issile)-Battleships
5 G(un)-Battleships
12 TIDAL WAVE-Class AEGIS Destroyers
12 TC-2C Anti-Submarine Warfare Helicopters
24 MOCKINGBIRD-Class Frigates
70 H/K-1 VTOL Surface Attack Aircraft
50 H/K-2 VTOL Air Superiority Aircraft
Various supply and fuel ships ferrying back and forth
Enough heavy military transports to carry one Red Tidean Army Corp which consist of:
1 Armored Division With Attached Armored Brigade*(25,000 men, 20,000 men per division, 5,000 men per brigade)
1 Mechanised-Infantry Division with attach Engineer Brigade(25,000 men)
3 Infantry Divisions with attached Artillery, Anti-Tank, and Close Combat Brigades(25,000 men each)
What the RADAR wont show is some GORBACHEV-Class Attack Submarines.
*An Armored Brigade is a new addition to the Army, it basicilly features some Main Battle Tanks and more soldiers in APCs(Red Tide does not use the designation IFV as they are virtually the same thing), the one exception is that it contains a tank Company (36 men, 12 tanks) of the new HAGSP-1 'Medusa', this is a Heavy Self-Propelled Assualt Gun, basicilly a turretless tank whose primary mission is anti-structure/anti-tank work(if it was just Anti-Tank work, then it would be labbelled as a Self-Proppelled Anti-Tank Gun). It is armed with a single 203mm Electro-Thermal Gun and enough armor to withstand ALMOST any direct fire weapon(there are exceptions). However, as with all Assualt Guns, it has no machine guns, therefore, infantry can get in close and disable the guns treads. It also presents a transportational headache as it requires nothing short of a railway bridge to get across a river and would tear up any roads it travels upon. Not to mention its slowness makes it vulnerable to air and artillery strikes.

IC: The RADAR gave the exact count of the Red Tidean Fleet... then promptly detected two HARMs speeding towards their position as a H/K-1 popped up over 100 feet, locked onto the radiation waves the RADAR was sending out, and loosed the missiles.

1. Assuming your soldiers are as fanatical as you say they are, then they'll be relativley reckless, and make some silly mistakes which I should be able to capitalize on( A few to name: not watching your supply lines, rushing into streets/buildings crazily, and won't watch their backs, and you will harass the civilian population quite a bit)
2. That your forces have little to no knowledge/experience of jungle fighting and BT has quite a bit
3. You will end up getting the mines (AKA the oil is already yours, as BT will make no effort to stop you from taking it), but it's gonna be a long painful road for you...

Vacation was good... although the beds were uncomfortable. Anyways, no I dont have AIM... or any instant messaging for that matter. Can we discuss it over telegrams? Also, can you post the results from my HARM attack on you RADAR Station.

OOC: I somehow missed that part... my bad, but expect a nice salvo of missiles against the landing craft....
IC:
"Hey Kellen..."
"What Rufus?"
"What the hell are these two thingies on the screen?"
"How the hell should I...."
Kellen Never finished his sentance due to being shreded to tiny cubes by one of the two HARM missiles, along with shredding the whole missile battery to bits, destroying any evidence that anything even existed there except for a big scorch mark. The other HARM missile carried on past the site, flying into some trees, and killing a bear, enraging it's family, having them run around the forest quite pissed off, making a large racket...

Now knowing where the whole fleet was, and after officially being attacked, Blue tide was officially at war, for no reason. A message was sent to the world:
TO NATIONS OF THE WORLD
We could use some help... we're about to get our asses kicked, raped and pillaged for no reason...
Total losses:
1 Missile battery
2 Incompetent soldiers
1 Bear

OOC: Assuming the Dark Star Drone does not get a glimps at them first.

IC: The auto-brightness dialer was malfunctioning... initially. Eventually the error was corrected by the computer memory banks and the Dark Star UAV continued its cruise along the coast, still looking for Exocet Missile Batteries.
