Rods From God Project

A pair of satellites orbiting several hundred miles above the Earth would serve as a weapons system. One functions as the targeting and communications platform while the other carries numerous tungsten rods—up to 20 feet in length and a foot in diameter—that it can drop on targets with less than 15 minutes’ notice. When instructed from the ground, the targeting satellite commands its partner to drop one of its darts. The guided rods enter the atmosphere, protected by a thermal coating, traveling at 36,000 feet per second—comparable to the speed of a meteor. The result: complete devastation of the target, even if it’s buried deep underground. That's the concept being carried out with the help of cape Meteroa in Neo-Rome. This being a commission by the SIAFS or (Sparta Infensus Armed Forces Research) for precision kills of a target. Later that day the targeting satellite as well as it's 50 tungsten rod drum would be launched into space and enter readying orbit. Despite that with the new production of a bullet manufacturing plant to cut down on the costs of buying 4.7mm rounds 7.62 rounds were being produced with a small O-Ring to keep all of the air within the bullet upon the casing. With enough air within the casing the 4 CW-CIWS goal keeper systems upon the satellite would be operational. Though of course this was not up for sale.

Now with Sparta Infensus having the ability to wipe an entire nation off the map within a matter of seconds they were and now and should be the most feared militaristic Government.

I have 10,000 of those in storage and 16 sattelites capable of launching them...

10,000 rods? I can produce that many a day. =/

As can I, I just put my production elsewhere.

"The Government of MassPwnage notes that it has an entire network of these satellites and the ability to shoot down any unwanted matter over its airspace, including ortillery. And congratulations. Your godrods may make you powerful, but it doesn't change the fact that your people are still eating grass."-The Great Leader Li.

Dude. You joined THIS MONTH. Not even FT nations are allowed to have PK tech until they are at least a few months old, hell, I didn't build mine until I was over a year old.

Something you may also want to not is that anyone, even MT nations can get their hands on a good Maser or other ray weapon. All they need to do is blast the living shit out of your "God rod" satilites from a distance, preferably from the saftey of your own capital, seeing as you can just build a maser on site in a hotel room, and use it to fry com-sats.

And to answer your reply, no you cannot kill an instilation before it shoots your satilites if you have no clue that i's being built. Hell, all that is needed to destroy your entire netowork is somone who can acheive a greater altitude tan your satilites, and they simply need to throw rocks at your multi-billion dollar projects and ker-pow! bye bye "god rod"

Also, if your going to claim your a hugely feared government, at least SPELL it right. "milirteristic"?

OOC: I really wouldn't pass judgement on him if I were you, judging from your own wonderfully spelled post. And Spartan, you aren't the only damn country with tungesten rod micro-sats. Hell, I've got around thirty of the damn things floating around.

An F-15C-launched ASAT missile can just as easily destroy an orbiting satellite as a multi-billion dollar ray-gun or microwave cannon for a fraction of the cost.

WTF? PK tech? What the hell is PK tech? Assuming Player-Kill, why is there a restriction on player kill tech.. and what do you mean 'even'?

Anyway, noting that he copied and pasted this from another website *without source* its pretty obvious it can quite easily be ignored.

Planet killer he means. I think.

Planet killer he means. I think.

Then he's cleary an idiot, as a 4.7mm probably couldn't destroy a human being, let alone all of Earth.

I could be wrong, but its the only other meaning where I've seen PK used.

ooc: If I'm reading it right, the 4.7mm rounds are anti-anti-satalite missiles/weapons.
The actual 'god-rods' are 20 feet in length and a foot in diameter.

All pending on correctly reading the post.

Even so, these rods won't have the penetrating power to punch the crust, let alone be "planet killers".

I think Pk is a loose term, it might just mean weapons that can do alot of damage to a planet.
Velkya
15-04-2006, 23:36
It doesn't do alot of damage to the planet, it's simply an orbital bunker busting weapon. You can't accuratly level a nation with these, it's about as close to a precision weapon as you can get.
Frozopia

Im just saying what the term means (or at least what I think it means) not the capacity of the weaponry.

[OOC: Ok, some stuff:

1) Loads of people have these. Even if you could spell, you still wouldn't be feared.

2) Tungsten rods are not nearly as powerful as nuclear weapons, and nuclear weapons can't do what you claim. You certainly can't destroy entire countries with two satellites.

3) Claiming that others fear you when you have no evidence that they do makes you look egotistical, which merely serves to annoy people ICly, which is bad for tiny, weak nations like yours.]

Yes, PK does mean planet killer, however planet killer is as Froz said, a loose term. My personal PK technology involves lots and lots of orbital bombardment, and takes several gameside weeks to complete, whereas lots of people prefer the whole deathstar idea.

An F-15C-launched ASAT missile can just as easily destroy an orbiting satellite as a multi-billion dollar ray-gun or microwave cannon for a fraction of the cost.

Acording to the Maser idea, I was refering to the fact that I beleive the article in pop sci said that they would use the second satellite to defend the primary launcher with smaller rods. This means it is designed to interdict missles. A maser or laser for that matter would be unaffected by an interceptor spike, and would probably turn it into boiling metal goo. Lazers are in no way multi-billion dollar weapons, seeing as they use super-high powered lasers in power-transfer experiments at several major universities in modern times. Lasers also have very little disipation over distance, so you could have a relatively low power weapon destroying these satellites.

I pass judgement on him because he is a nation, who is at most two weeks and a day old. I'm sorry, but thats just foolish, not even stupid, just flat out foolish.

Now, these god rods would actually have quite a bit of force behind them, they are after all, rocket launched from space, and get accelerated like mad as they fall toward the earth, although they probably wouldn't destroy nations, they could be a serious danger.

(Yes, sorry for my lack of acurate spelling in certain cirumstances, but when the only part of your post that isnt copied strieght from Pop Sci, then you may wish to at least spell it correctly.)

OOC: I find it hilarious how people are on a single spelling mistake of mine; like a fat kid on pudding. Yet they bicker amoung them selves only to come the conclusion that I can have them... These rods aren't PK weapons; if used in large clusters; are. Like nukes as mentioned, and as others mentioned I never read the rules restricting players on thier date of joining to thier tech. This community seems to be a bunch of elitist ass-holes whom couldn't accept a new member without flaming if it cost them thier lives. Jesus Christ you fuckers are horrible...

@Theao: You are an idiot and you fail at life, google the G11, that thing rapes an German Standard Issue Helmet at if I remember correctly 800 yards. Thats 4.7 FMJ, now think AP. Fuck-tard. Next time you post think for a second.

The P90 uses 5.7 only a millimeter bigger.
