Funeral of a Monarch & Rise of a new Nation

Thrashia

It had been more than 48 hours since the Mini Miehm forces had left New Thrashian space. It had been more than 48 hours since the fatal death of Emperor Shadaum IV, ruler of the Thrashian Empire.

Official reports stated that the Emperor had wished to enter space in his private fighter-patrol craft, one made for his express use, and that upon reaching the location of the Thrashian Fleet, the engines of the fighter overloaded and exploded; killing the Emperor within the explosion. Ground engineers said that the faulty engine was most likely caused by the rushed way in which the ground crews had prepped the fighter.

Becuase the Emperor had been in such haste to enter space, his ground crew had not been properly able to prepare his vessel, and thus resulted in his death.

The forces that had been sent against The Cassiopean Galaxies were recalled. Grand Admiral Veers had returned, as had his Excellency Treize. The nation, the army, the fleet, every loyal citizen of Thrashia was in mourning.

A long golden coffin was carried through the streets of New Thrashia. The huge megalith buildings were tall silent sentinels playing witness to a great spectable. All along the side of streets, Thrashian citizens stood watching, crying. Some simply stood, awed and overwhelmed by their emotions that they could not react.

The Emperor Shadaum IV had ruled for well over 100 years, dying at the age of 157. His people had loved him with a fevor reserved normally for the gods. Never before and never again would such a ruler come, or so it was believed.

Six Royal Guardsmen carried the coffin, walking in a slow lock step. Behind and before marched the Royal Guard, rifles turned upside down, in their company formations. Behind the coffin marched Grand Admiral Veers, Admiral Kines, and Treize Kushrenada; several other high ministers and Guild officials marched along in the proccesion as well.

Over-head hundreds of Tie fighters flew by in formation. All for the send-off of a man who had helped alter history and had affected the course of nations, a man who was Emperor.

Bedecked in his black uniform and and ceremonial dress, Darth Polarus stood beside the grave of Emperor Shadaum IV, and watched as the Thrashians burried the golden coffin. Polarus had come in homige to the alliance that had existed between Polarus's Imperial Remnant and the Thrashian Empire. It was a sad day that the Emperor Shadaum was dead.

Polarus took his lightsaber and unhooked it from his belt. With effort and massive concentration Polarus went deep into the Force. From it, he endowed a pathway to beyond and set it within the lightsaber; it would be a literal beacon to those Force sensetives.

Polarus walked forward and with permission from a guard set it down on top of the coffin. It was a Force tribute to the man who had defied the leader of the Sith.

Grand Admiral Veers stepped through the doors of his command room aboard the Epion. With him were Admiral Kines and General Septum, the three men represented the highest ranking men within the Thrashian military. Veers stomped down to his command chair and slumped into it heavily. He covered his eyes with his hand and rubbed his brow.

"Why now?" he asked. No one answered. General Septum sat in another chair, Kines took a similar position.

"What of her Highness and the Crown Prince?" asked Septum. "We cannot rule Thrashia. Without the royal family Thrashia will be in a static chaos."

Kines nodded. "Indeed, however the Royal Guard escorted both her Highness and Prince Octavius to a secret and secure location. But their commander, Major Rhines was aboard the Emperor's craft when it exploded. So we don't know."

"Damn it!" said Septum. He smashed his fist into the consul.

Veers sighed and leaned up in his chair. He tapped into his command consul and read a recent report. He frowned.

"Why is the evacuation plan continuing?" asked Veers.

"That is because I ordered it so," said another voice. All three men turned and looked as Treize Kushrenada entered the room. He was followed by Colonel Barten and Lieutenant Merquis.

"And just why did you order this Trieze!? You have no authority to do so," Septum said icily.

Treize smiled and bowed. "As of today I will be taking over the Empire of Thrashia, you gentlemen are welcomed to either join me, die or perhaps seek exile."

"What!? Impossible! Guards!" yelled Veers.

Several uniformed soldiers bearing their assault rifles and weaponry entered. They stood around looking. The sergeant of the guard looked confused.

"Is something wrong Admiral?" he asked.

"Yes! Kill Colonel Treize now!" yelled Septum.

"What!"

"He is a rebel and a traitor," said Septum.

Trieze didn't blink. "I Treize Kushrenada order the execution of Grand Admiral Veers, General Septum, and Admiral Kines."

"What do you mean you-," began Septum, when he was cut off as all the guards turned their guns on the Septum, Kines, and Veers.

The sergeant saluted. "I am executing you sir on the orders of his Excellency. I am sorry."

"You can't do that!" screamed Kines. Both Septum and Kines reached for their pistol holsters and tried running. The guards opened fire and both men fell tot he floor. Veers had not even moved. He looked at Treize with a measuring eye.

"And how do you plan to keep power Treize? You know the Fleet will not stand for this."

"Actually, you would be surprised as to how many of my men, the Specials, have infiltrated your command Grand Admiral. I would expect you to understand that by now," said Treize.

All across the sector Special forces were in revolt, taking over bases and military installations. Thrashian Fleet officers suddenly found themselves at gun-point as several of their crew drew pistols and put on the military cap of the Specials. On the ground Leo mobile suits took and destroyed the large majority of the Clone Legions bases. When Thrashian officers tried issuing orders for them to fight back, the Specials ground forces concentrated and crushed resistance.

Even in the outer colonies Special Forces were taking over. Several of the Thrashian Defense forces defected, signicantly weakening the position there, being members of OZ who had infiltrated the TDF.

Using their advance mobile suits the OZ soldiers quickly took over. Those Thrashian Military personnel that fought back were quickly killed. By the end of the first day, nearly all space station assests and facilities had been taken over, and nearly all resistance was annihilated.

The coup de'tat was the unveiling of a new organization within the military. Making his move for power Treize showed that the Specials were more than a simple military outfit, but rather a new organization and military known as OZ. And with it, Excellency Treize would rule a new dawn of in the era of Thrashia.

New Thrashia | 3 Days after OZ successful coup de'tat

The transition went more smoothly than anyone could have expected. With the news of a coup de'tat reaching the citizens of Thrashia, they were at first resistant. However, news soon reached New Thrashia of the Empress and the Crown Prince's demise at the hands of a stray pirate fleet that intercepted the royal shuttle.

To win the peoples hearts, as he had in the past, Trieze Kushrenada made several public appeances, wishing for peace among the people and saying that the Emperor, in the case of his death, would have wanted a peaceful resolution to his nation; and thus backed by the OZ organization, no one was in a position to fight against that decision or possesed the capabilities.

Making overtures to the Guild and other powerful industries of Thrashia Treize was quickly able to engage a peaceful settlement, and allow for a strong base in which to build his new regime, a new name for Thrashia; as well as a new home...

"It has been in the past, that our enemies have found us in our homes and attacked. The recent intrusion of the nation known as Mini Miehm has shown us that our safety, thought safe-guarded by our allies of Parlim in secrecy, are no longer safe and hidden." Treize stood on a podium, addressing the new Senate of the Earth Sphere Unified Nation of Thrashia.

"We can only attain true peace by leaving this location we now call New Thrashia, a relic of old times when we were a mightier nation; back to our golden days under the old Emperor.

"However friends and countrymen, we are not safe. I am therefore making it an edict that the entire nation of Thrashia shall move, leave from this system that our enemies now are aware of, and move to a safer haven." Treize paused for a moment, letting his words sink in.

"We are moving, not to some distant star, but to our outer newly conquered colonies. There we will be safe, in a plentiful and beautiful new planetary system. Already, more than half of our citizens have moved there in secret, thanks to the efforts of our Merchant Guild," Treize said, nodding to the four men seated to one side in a booth. Each was in a highly expensive business suit.

"Once our citizens are there, safe from the eyes of even our allies, we will entertain only a small military force here in the Julian System, along with any facilities of the Guild. I ask you represenatives of the people, on whether or not you will abide with my decision?"

It was a silent moment. Treize moved not an eyebrow, nor even breathed, holding his naturally charasimatic pose. Then came the sound one a person clapping.

Within moments the entire hall was filled with a rauchious and loud clapping, men even cheered. Treize smiled and bowed to the Senate. He stepped down from the podium and left the hall via a back door. Two OZ soldiers took up flanking positions and followed.

Colonel Merquis stood at the end of the hallway. He saluted when Treize walked up to him.

"Congratulations your Excellency, that was well done" he said.

Treize nodded. "Yes, now we can make sure that Thrashia is no longer a sitting target for old GE members. It is sad that some of them would wish to entertain thoughts of re-opening conflict. The last was nothing more than the result of an uncivil and lewd grand admiral."

"You mean Alabar? I always thought he was good enough," said Merquis, walking beside Treize as they exited the Senate Hall. Outside the sun was setting, the day not far from it's end.

Treize shook his head. "Alabar was never a very good leader. True he won battles, but they were through brute force, and the man was no gentleman." Treize's voice had a hint of venom as he spoke the last few words. Merquis smiled.

"Well, we can be glad now that your Excellency is in charge. Has Grand Admiral Veers managed to get all remaining Fleet personnel to agree to join OZ?" asked Merquis. The two men we escorted into a waiting hover lim.

Treize took a long sigh before answering. "Not entirely yet. In return for his life Veers promised for the safe and peaceful intergration of OZ and the Fleet. Though I can understand somewhat the feelings of those soldiers still loyal to the old ways. More than half the fleet captains were trained under Alabar, and then Veers. I'm hoping Veers has some weight with them."

Merquis nodded in understanding. It would be a little while yet until the new Unified Nation was able to shrug off the last vestiges of being an Empire.

"Certain civilisations cannot be conquered by mere brute force...Such action leads them to unite, to strengthen themselves. In times of war, moralities become meaningless and leaders do whatever they must to assure strength, protection and victory. The Miehmish have clearly made a mistake when it comes to the Thrashian Problem."

"You know of a solution, my Emperor?" The diplomat bowed lightly, observing Remiel musing, philosophical and cultured upon his throne.

"One must be cautious in such matters. The Miehmish act on whim and instinct; they pursue their own petty vendettas across the stars. As do we; however, in a Chronosian action there is always tact; always a grander purpose. Did we not set the Republic and her enemies against each other in a war that cost us next to nothing?"

"Aye, Lord."

"Then we shall wait; we shall send forth a diplomatic hand to the Thrashians, and we shall see what wounds can be healed. There is much to consider; much to think upon in these dark days."

In a darkened room in a place unknown, two men sat facing each other. One was an older, cold and calculating man, while the other had just come of age and was learning about the usage of power necessary in the world.

"This is certainly amusing is it not?"

"How so, sire?"

"Using a bunch of antiques to pull off a successful coup. The amusing beauty of their plan was not in how organized they were, but that they were able to pull it off with a bunch of antiques from decades past."

"Antiques? You mean those Leos?"

"Correct. The specifications on the Leos, that are agents have so conveniently provided, it is clear that the Leos are at least three to four generations behind that of our support mobile suit, the Doven Wolf."

"Three or four generations behind a secondary mobile suit? Is this true, sire?"

"Our agents are seldom wrong."

"What should we do, sire?"

"It depends. If the situation deteriorates, we may need to intervene..."

"Sire?"

"By my orders, three teams of third line mobile suits have been readied for deployment. If the situation becomes any worse and if the need to eliminate the enemy arises, we may be forced to deploy our forces."

"Third-line?"

"Yes. The technology of our old Jegan Mark III Pre-refits should be sufficient to take care of these Leos and anything else these Thrashians can throw at us... In the meantime, an envoy of standing will be dispatched."

"As you wish, sire."

New Thrashia | Excellency Treize Kushrenada's Office

Operations were continuing. The Epion, which until three days prior had been the headquarters of the Thrashian Imperial Fleet, was now the focal point for the new OZ Space Forces. The last remnants of the Fleet were being brought into the fold of OZ as well, only a few rebellious Star Destroyer captains choosing to over-load their ship's engines in protest. Over all OZ was quickly taking over.

A woman, dressed in a red uniform and white leg-hose, stepped through the great oak doors of Treize Kushrenada's office. His excellency had taken up residence in the old Imperial Minister's District officers, choosing to reside here in a place where the common person had expressed themselves, rather than taking up residence in the now vacant Palace.

Treize sat listening to an ancient old recorder, playing an ancient symphony. He did not turn to face the young woman as she stepped forward, keeping his eyes closed and enjoying the music.

The woman saluted in sharp order, the light flashing off her OZ epaullettes.

"Your Excellency?"

Treize murmered an affirmative.

"We have recieved, through channels, an understanding that the nation of Chronosia wishes to send a delegation. I am unsure as to when or if they will arrive, however I thought it would be to your interest to know this," the woman said.

Treize opened his eyes and looked at the woman, her long sable brown hair flashing in the light as well.

"Thank you Lady, if you will, send a message to the Emperor Remiel. Please extend to him our wishes for a delegate to arrive if at his pleasure. I would be pleased to open dialogue with him and his nation," said Treize.

Lady Une nodded, she saluted and left the room.

OZ Space Forces Testing Arena | Epion

The four Virgo mobile dolls sped at their optimal speed, dodging blasts from a team of Taurus suits. The Virgo's shields went into effect, defending off a sreis of blasts as the faster Taurus suits manuvuered past them. The Virgo's turned and blasted at the passing suits.

A lucky shot hit the rear of one Taurus. It was bathed in electrical pulses and flew out of formation, becoming disabled.

"Damn! Wolf 3! Bryant you idiot!"

The remaining three taurus suits flew in a arrowhead formation, speeding between blasts from the mobile dolls.

"Damn it! Wolf 2, Wolf 4, once we get above them, bank left and right. Tak them in the side!"

"Affirmative Wolf Leader."

The suits roared at top speed at the dolls. With sharp honed reflexes the two wing pilots cut off and dogged in opposite directions. The middle Taurus turned and transformed into its mobile suit setting, its beam rifle coming into position.

"Take this you blasted dolls!" the Taurus let loose a hail of fire at the dools, each who turned and began firing back.

As they turned the other two Taurus suits turned and blasted into the sides of the dools, getting solid shots into each. They each became bathed in electrical waves and became inoperable.

"Wolf Leader, this is Epion Command, congratulations. Testing complete. Good job Commander Noin."

Inside the cockpit of the leader Taurus a woman took off her flight helmet. She smiled as vid screens of Wolf 1, 2, 3, and 4 all came on. "You hear that team? We did a good job!"

Wolf 3, Bryant Tyl, shrugged, his dred locks waving as he took off his flight helmet as well. "Ah, how can dolls compare to us, The elite OZ pilots?"

Wolf 1, Eric Poe, smiled. "Yea, but they still got you this time Tyl! Ahahah!"

"Shut up!"

Lieutenant Noin shook her head. "Wolf Team, report back to the Epion and prepare for debriefing. We'll go over todays test and see what we did good, and what we did right."

All four other pilots saluted and sounded off an affirmative.

===

On the Epion Lieutenant Noin stepped into the command room of the station. There Colonel Barten stood, looking at the main screen of a replay of the test. He turned as Noin entered.

"Ah, Lieutenant, good. I am happy to say that the Wolves did well today. I expect that soon I'll have to hand you over to OZ Training. They've been asking for you hot-assed pilots to help train newer pilots," Barten said.

Noin came to a salute and came to parade rest. "You wished to see me sir?"

Barten nodded. "Yes. His Excellency will soon be finishing the complete transfering of Thrashian citizens. As soon as our people are fully gone from this damned place, it will become a military outpost. I've recommended that you be promoted and given command of the OZ Space Forces that will be stationed here."

Noin's eyes widened. "Sir...thankyou sir."

"Don't thank me yet, we're expecting some diplomats in the next few days, and guess who will be guarding their entry?"

"Respectively, damn you, sir."

New Thrashia System | Civilian Check Point Exit | Two weeks after the Death of Emperor Shadaum

http://i19.photobucket.com/albums/b184/Upum/New%20MS%20Folder/untitled.jpg

"Mobile Command, this is Guild Highler Galinia asking for permission to continue operations." The comms fuzzed for a moment. Then a voice came on.

"Affirmative Galinia, Zaku Team 3 will escort you to your hyperspace jump point. Good travelling, and see you on the other side," said the OZ operator.

"Got'ya MC, thanks for the escort. Galinia out," said the ships captain.

With the grace that only a 10 kilometer ship could give, the huge Guild Highliner turned towards the distant stars. From the nearby orbital station five Zaku space types launched, their green-black amour shining in the early light of the nearby star.

It was the last of the Guild Highliners that were leaving. For the weeks since the incursion of enemy forces into Thrashian space, and the rise of Excellency Treize to power after the Emperor's death, the nation had gone over a huge change. The populace of the nation was leaving to, as his Excellency said, a more safe location; where the enemies of the Earth Sphere Unified Nation of Thrashia could not reach them.

Treize stood on the Epion, watching the command screen as the last Highliner disapeared into hyperspace. He smiled and breathed deeply in the way of a sigh.

"Something wrong Excellency?" asked Lady Une. She stood nearby in her usual uniform, a look of concern on her face.

"No Lady, actually I am quite happy. For our people are now safe. All that is left is to begin the break down of the old Fleet equipment; we've no longer any need for it," said Treize. He walked out of the door, two OZ soldiers opening the door and saluting as his Excelleny and Lady Une left.

"I've seen fit that the OZ Trainees should try their skills at destroying some of the larger Star Destroyers. I've had Lieutenant Noin and Colonel Barten see to it," Lady Une said.

"Good, it will help them to train, to be better soldiers. We'll need them in the future."

Lady Une frowned. "Excellency?"

Treize sighed again and walked out into the hanger bay where his transport awaited. "Even though we have successfully handled the transition of the OZ organization, our enemies outside will take this change as a small act of weakness; they may feel the time is prime for a strike. Not to mention that our allies Parlim, are still unaware of our leaving this system. This of course, we will not divulge."

Lady Une nodded in understanding. The two of them walked inside of the transport and got into their respective seats. The transport revved to life and blasted out of the hanger. Three escort Taurus suits followed.

"We must prepare. The time is not yet right for the curtains to close," said Treize. "We have other actors that have yet to arrive to the scene."

The Chronosian vessel tore free of the shifting currents of the Immaterium, shifting back into reality. It was a Despoiler class Battleship, shields up, weapons thrumming on low power; sliding gracefully (As gracefully as any construct nearly entirely tainted by Chaos could appear) across the fabric of existence, before pausing, asserting itself; beginning to broadcast.

People of Thrashia. You have fought long and hard, you have strove for a better Empire, been bloodied and cast out, and now a tenuous peace has been betrayed. You know us well, we have often fought as brothers. We ask now that you accept us once again as brethern.

There is much that the Imperium can offer; much we can provide to our favored allies and friends; much that would aid you in such dark times as these; for the Universe is dangerous; its occupants foolish and tenacious. Yet none as persistant or as effective as Chaos. The Miehmish? Children playing upon our borrowed glories; in the end, we doubt they shall survive the warp. Regardless, they are amusing.

Will you speak with us?

It space, before the newly arrived cruiser was the large capital ship, the flagship of his Excellency, the Pride of Vitalis. It took up a holding position before the Chronosian vessel, and as a sign of peace, all it's weapons and other impliments of war were not activated and issued no power readings. Mobile Dolls, on guard around the area, were flown away.

Using old transmission lines from the databanks of the old Fleet, a vid message was sent from the Pride of Vitalis. It was Treize Kushrenada, in his full regella.

"Welcome to the Julian System, and greetings to the Emperor Remiel, God-Emperor of Chronosia. I am Treize Kushrenada, soveriegn of the new Earth Sphere Unified Nation of Thrashia.

In the past, under our Emperor Shadaum IV, we fought together and against one another. Our peddy wars were fought for the glory of none, and the dead are a testament to that foolishness. The ambitions that once drove our dead Emperor, and his Empire, are now gone; never to be renewed.

I wish for a final act of peace. For a final end to a long history or tension and un-ease that has caused only strife. I cannot, as a gentleman, wish for anything less. So, I accept your offer of peace. If it is prudent, I would wish to speak with the Lord Remiel himself, if he is so disposed to bear his person to the Julian System."

I am here; I bring diplomats, but also thought it prudent to bear myself. Always better to offer peace to ones opposites in person. Always a more dignified move; and we are dignified, we are not some rabble of malcontents and barbarians. We plan and we plot. We shall meet and have our parley; and once we have a conclusion, we shall see what future can come; what bargains might be entered

Treize nodded in response. "Very well Lord Remiel. If you would be so kind as to let me play host, I would invite you aboard the Epion Station. There we can meet in a prepared hall that will suit the occasion. I look forward to meeting you in person."

The transmission went dead. Treize walked from his command bridge and travelled down to the flight deck. There a transport and Lady Une were waiting. She half-bowed to Treize as he entered the transport past her. Lady Une got inside as well, and sat next to Treize.

With a shift and pressure change, the transport rocketed from the Pride of Vitalis and sped toward the nearby Epion. A large docking bay awaited.

"Your Excellency, are you sure that it is wise to meet with Remiel face to face?" Lady Une asked. "I've read reports that he is a dangerous warrior in his own right."

Treize smiled. "Remiel is one of kind, the last few of a dying breed. In this galaxy, there is a lack of true warriors. While I do detest some of Chronosia's past efforts and methods, Remiel has proven to me to be a man of honor. As such, as one true warrior to another, I am bound to meet with him, face to face. It would only be courtious."

The transport reached the designated docking bay, landing lights flashed and the transport docked. A platoon of OZ soldiers were waiting, their blaster rifles at attention.

Lady Une followed Treize out of the transport, nodding. "Very well Excellency, I am mearly worried for your safety. I will of course see to it that security measures are tight."

Treize and Lady Une walked out of the docking bay and entered a main cooridor. They walked for a short time and came to a oak panalled door. Treize looked into Une's eyes as he opened the door.

"Remember Lady, be graceful, always. Now, see to it that Remiel is greeted properly and brought here when he arrives."

Lady Une bowed. "Yes your Excellency." She left and went to the docking bay.
