3066 Years Ago
Planet Yukatania

This world was just like others, just an ordinary planet sustainable by life. Humans slowly evolved through the years. They slowly developed communities and primitive Empires. This was all about to change.

Donnchadh was walking back from his hunting party, bringing back a modest kill for his Family. Part of the Anhinga Clan, his duty and honor were to the Or, he would kill for the Or, and he would defend the Or. Once he reached his Hut, he put the doe on the table and his wife skinned the beast and cut the meat. His two sons came from outside to eat. He watched his two sons and wondered if it was time to teach them the way of the Or. As he lay down on his straw bed, he saw a streak from the patches in his roof. Donnchadh ran outside and soon saw many streaks go across the sky. He stood, unmoving watching fire in the sky.

Well Captain, you've outdone yourself this time. An excellent find, I'm amazed that higher intelligence hasn't already evolved.

Thank you Overseer. I shall get the colony erected quickly and begin searching the planet for life and resources. I thank the Gods that I was given the opportunity to help in this grand undertaking.

You are dismissed Captain. Gods be with you.

And in your need.

========================================

A dozen 'scoutships,' or at least the equivilant of such, descended to the planet, hovering over the landing zone. However, they stopped suddenly. Something was wrong. It didn't make sense, this wasn't supposed to be. All but one of the ships screamed back into the heavens, leaving a pillar of flame in their wake.

The single remaining ship, an elegantly curved white hull in the sky, began to make a slow circle of the area, its hover drives silent.

========================================

Overseer, your amazement is no longer necessary.

So it has been found?

We believe so sir.

You know what to do Captain, see it done. Gods be with you.

And in your need.

As Donnchadh looked up into the sky and seeing the fires appear, he only felt amazment. Slowly, he looked down and in surprise he saw the others form the Anhinga Clan outside staring up in the sky.

Grawli, one of the Anhinga leaders began chanting "Or, Or, Or" Over and over, soon the rest joined in. That what has been taught and passed down over generations would have came true, the horses of Fire, the Or were going to lead them to ever life.

But now as he saw the Fires leaving the sky, Donnchada felt dissapointment, were the Or leaving? How could they? His whole life was devoted to them, they couldn't leave him now..

The ship drifted over the landscape, unknowingly strait for Donnchadh and his brethren.

It scanned for inteligent life, settlements, anything that might require a change in plans. A second vessel roared down towards the first, a smaller shape in the vast sky. It landed on top of the first, a tube connecting them.

So Starship Captain, you have found inteligence?

I believe so Commander.

Well then, I set you to a task. Find them, and when you do, learn their language and go down to them.

In that order?

Yes. Land if you must, but do not land in their city or on them. Just outside.

I shall learn to speak then?

Yes. Gods be with you.

Yes Commander. And in your need.

The smaller ship scorched the sky as it roared back up into the void. The first continued on its path, nearing the small settlement.

Donnchadh looked closely and noticed that one of the Fires came together with another, he also noticed that they were heading for him. A rush of excitement flew through his body. The Or were coming to his Clan, this was a great night after all.

Grawli ran inside his hut and quickly looked around for ceremonious dresses, to pass out. He fumbled around his hut, finnally after tearing apart his whole living space he rans outside with a large basket. When he set it down everyone in the clan dressed quickly in the cerimonial dresses, and waited the appearance of the "Or"

When he doned his Cerimonial Dress Donnchadh waited with arms opened to the sky. People around him begun to chant "Or" over and over.

Starship Captain, we have life-forms sighted. They appear to be making vocal sounds that indicate a language based on sound. However, it seems to be a repetetive chant.

Demonstrate.

The orderly demonstrated as best he could, his vocal muscles creating a decent immitation of the sound.

Interesting. We should investigate further. Take as many recordings as you can and put them on the mindnet, we must get it translated. I shall learn their tongue and walk among them.

Yes starship captain.

It may be time for us to start to use our voices anew. There are too many within our realm that cannot access the mindnet. I shall put in a plea to revive the old trade language. You are dismissed. Gods be with you.

And in your need.

The craft neared the settlement. The two hundred meter shape set down just outside, its graceful surface intensly reflecting the sunlight.

Two figures descended from the ship, taking a quick circuit around it and then vanishing back within.

The Anhinga Clan ran to the downed fire, Donnchadh noticed how shiny it looked, and now it wasn't on fire. Grawli turned and faced the crowed of Anhingans "Keep back!, The Or have arrived!"

Everyone stood mezmerised at the large silver Manta-Shaped craft that stood before them. Donnchadh droped to his knees and began to weep, finnaly the day has come.

The ship's surface appeared to be a smooth and solid surface, no windows or weapons ports. However, within, dozens of figures stared at the sight outside.

There was quite a murmer in the local mindnet. Who were they? What were they doing?

Already they were watching to interpret their tongue. They examined everything, watching for any way they could interact.

Finally, it was decided that one should go down to them. They could not decipher their language, but a spoken language would probably greet these creatures better than nothing. The captain uplinked to the mindnet, learning the Trader's Language anew, and decided to descend to meet them.

A ramp lowered at the bow of the craft, parting from the seemingly seamles hull, and a single humanoid figure descended to the ground. At the top of the slope, the vessel's interior appeared to be pitch, the same color as the heavy sunglasses worn by the figure. The captain began to speak, his voice sounding odd from lack of use.

<Greetings, unknown peoples.>

Those of the Anhinga Clan jumped back when the creature spoke in thier native tounge. Donnachadh was the only one who steped forward, he stared at the humanoid figure and pointed straight at him.

"Or" He yelled.

"They are the Or!"

The Anhinga Clan dropped to thier knees and knelt towards the Figure.

What in nine hells did I just start? And they speak the trade language!

Watch your language, Statship Captain!

Sorry Commander. I shall get to the bottum of this. It may be... advantageous?

Indeed.

The captain observed this at legnth, watching for signs of leadership in the group. Being unable, he called out into the gathered.

<I shall speak with the leader of your people. I wish to discuss matters of grave importance.>

Donnchadh had no idea what the figure infront of him said he only heard the words: speak, peoples, and matters, but something inside him told him to stand.

He stood and faced the figure and said, "Me".
