Elections in the Colony of Ollieland
A Coalition of the 5 major parties have held power for the last five years under SPO Governor Connie Chung. This coalition was put together after the Communist Party of Ollieland increased their vote from 4% to nearly 45% of seats in Congress. After much allegations and investigations of electoral fraud the result stood. New, stricter voter registration rules at this election should prevent any underhand tactics.
Details of the parties positions and Ollieland’s political system can be found at www.freewebs.com/colonyofollieland

FIRST DAYS VOTING ENDS
COMMUNISTS DOWN, MAIN PARTIES UP
After the polling stations closed for the first day early exit polls indicate a distinct fall for the CPO and a rise across the board for the main 5 parties of the nation. Governor Chung was said to “pleased” with the results so far and is confident of heading a centre left coalition. Rumours have abounded of possible links between the Governor’s Socialists with the Liberals and Democrats. However, Home Secretary Oliver Ogilvy was also said to pleased with the results , his Conservatives currently level pegging with the Socialists. When asked to comment he stated “it is clear that the voters of this nation have clearly rejected Communism, and we hope that they see sense in a conservative future for Ollieland”. When pressed upon who he could form a coalition with he refused to comment. As the Fascists and Isolationists are seen as political pariahs, just as the Communists are, it is at the moment unseen how the Conservatives could form a majority in Congress. Spokesmen for the Liberals and Democrats also refused to comment on any future coalition. The only main party not to recover from the debacle of the last election so far is the Colonial Peoples Party. New leader Oliver Fullerton admitted that they had lost the working class and left wing vote to the Socialists and Communists but insisted he was “confident of a late breakthrough”. Most political commentators, however, do not share his optimism.
CHUNG RE-ELECTED?
The position of Governor could, however, be interesting. After this first round of voting, the two top scoring parties will put forward their candidates in the final Gubernatorial Round. The last election was historic, the first in the history of the nation with no Democrat candidate, and the first with a Communist candidate. Miss Chung was elected by a broad anti-Communist coalition, gainging many votes from the right wing. The possibility of a face off between the Socialist Miss Chung and the Conservative Mr Ogilvy could see a polarisation of voters, producing a very close result

We cast our vote for no one, we feel that no Candidate speaks for us and that even with the newer, tigher voter registration rules. That this election is still rigged.

FASCIST SURGE AT POLLS
POSSIBLE GUBERNATORIAL FACE OFF
A surprise surge in support for the Colonial Fascist Party was recorded in exit polls after the second day of voting ended. It is known that mass turnout by voters in the Southern Province saw massive fascist voting in protest against living conditions in Ollieland's poorest province. Other partys have accused the Fascists of voter intimidation, with clashes between Fascist supporters and anti-fascist demonstrators outside polling stations in the Provincial capital La Porschette (see below). The Conservatives and Socialists continue to advance steadily, although both are still neck and neck, whilst communist support seems to have stalled. Increases have also been recorded for the Liberals and, surprisingly, the Greens, who bombed at the last election. Green leader Diane Van Tranter stated that this was a sign of the "increasing environmental awareness of the Ollish people". The Colonial Peoples Party have yet to get off the mark, failing to even reach their worst ever performance they showed in the last election. Peoples Party leader Oliver Fullerton was unavailable for comment. It is thought that the Gubernatorial race could lead to a reversal of last years race, which saw a left wing election (SPO versus CPO) with this year the race possibly being between the conservatives and fascists.
GRAND COALITION AGAIN?
Rumours have abounded about possible secret negotiations between the 5 main parties concerning a continuation of the Grand Coalition which has governed Ollieland for last five years. This coalition was enacted to prevent a Communist government after the last election. Many political commentators have said that they could see the possibility of a continuation of the coalition if fascist support continued to build. Professor Oliver Trent of the University of Oliver City stated "the coalition could continue. The fears of communist control five years ago was enough to make the traditional main parties put aside their differences and prevent an extremist government. They feared that we would be isolated from the world, withdrawn from the Woodstock Pact etc, etc. The possibility of a Fascist government would likely produce the same thinking". The leaders of all the parties of the Grand Coalition refused to comment on this when asked.
CLASHES IN LA PORSCHETTE
Colonial Police were patrolling the streets of La Porschette last night as clashes occurred in the afternoon between Fascist supporters and anti-fascist protestors. A fascist march through the city was interrupted by a student group from Dauphin Univerity, waving anti-fascist placards and shouting anti-fascist slogans. The small local police presence was overwhelmed quickly and for 3 hours pitched battles were fought between the groups along Main Street. Colonial Police Force riot units were brought in to the city and quickly restored order. A total of 56 arrests were made for public order offences. 52 members of the public, 9 local policemen and 2 Colonial Police Force members were hospitalised. Police General Oliver Stanton, commander at the scene, described the situation as "tense but stable". Fascist leader Conrad Richards blamed communist sympathisers at the university for "stirring up trouble".

Witoslawski Syndicates has cast her vote for the Fascists, as the official ideology of Witoslawski Syndicates is Natinal Syndicalist, a sub-ideology of Fascism.
We hope that, in the future, Witoslawski Syndicates and Olleiland will be able to co-operate for a better, Fascist, future.

FASCISTS CONTINUE SURGE AT POLLS
SOCIALISTS STALL
Fascist support has continued to surge at the polls, seemingly unaffected by the adverse publicity surrounding civil disturbences in the Southern Province. Barring any late surges from the other parties it would appear that the Colonial fascists Party will be the largest party in Congress. The Democrats, Liberals and Conservatives have continued to advance but, however, the Socialist vote seems to have stalled. Governor Chung was said to be "disappointed" but has so far refused to concede defeat, fuelling speculation of another Grand Coalition. Professor Oliver Trent, head of the Political Science Department at the University of Oliver City, stated that "if the figures don't change significantly then any grand coalition will have to include the Green Part. This could be interesting as I don't see how their policies could be reconciled with those of, say, the Conservatives". When questioned all of the party leaders refused to comment on any possible coalition, with the exceptiob of Diane Van Tranter, Green leader. Whilst campaigning in Veron she stated that the Green Party "has not been approached by any other party concerning a coalition."
RIGHT WING GOVERNORS RACE
In exit polls the Conservatives have now overtaken the Socialists, opening the way to a possible Gubernatorial race between two right wing candidates, Oliver Ogilvy for the Conservatives and Conrad Richards for the Fascists. It is thought that we could see a repeat situation of Governor Chungs election, where right wing voters voted Socialist to keep out the Communists. This time round, it is quite possible Mr Ogilvy could pick up left wing support to prevent a Fascist Governor.

Why not have a Fascist-Conservative Coalition as that would allow for a government that keeps out the communists and greens as well as the Socialists?
Just an idea.

OOC - The way I play my nation is that the Fascists, Communists and Isolationists are considered to be political pariahs by the other parties. Besides, it would mean altering my entire foreign policy and my withdrawal from pacts and alliances, something I don't really want to do.

LAST MINUTE SOCIALIST BREAKTHROUGH
FASCISTS CONTINUE TO ADVANCE
As the polls are nearing closure, it is evident that there has been a big late swing to the incumbent Socialist party. Heavy polling in the two metropolitan districts of Oliver City and Blofeld Bay saw massive support for Governor Chung in response to still increasing Fascist support in the rural areas and percieved civil aggression by Fascist supporters in the south. Both the Democrats and Liberals saw their votes increase, whilst Communist, Green and Isolationist support has stalled. The Colonial Peoples Party seem to have reached meltown point, being certain to record their worst ever election result. Political commentators expect the resignation of party leader Oliver Fulerton immediately after the election results are announced.
GRAND COALITION ANNOUNCED
At a press conference at the Socialist Party of Ollieland HQ in Oliver City Governor Connie Chung announced that the SPO had been in negotiation wth the Conservatives, Liberals, Democrats and the ailing People’s party with a view to forming “a new Grand Coalition, to lead Ollieland to the forefront of international affairs.” When pressed she refused to comment on the possible participation of the Green Party, sidestepping the question by stating that “all mainstream politicians in Ollieland will not allow our nation to be hijacked by extremists of any political bent.”

TOP SECRET ENCRYPTED MESSAGE
From: Imperial Central Command
To: Conrad Richards-Leader of the Colonial Fascist Party of Ollieland
The Imperial Central Command of the Empire of Kravania would like to inform you that this message and the offer it contains has the support of all institutions of the Empire of Kravania and the support of Emperor Constantine I.
The Empire is of the view that your party, the CFP, should be the rightfull occupants of the government of Ollieland. This so-called election was stolen by the corrupt ruling gang of centrists and democrats who have misruled your nation for too many years.
The Empire is not a Fascist state or society, but rather an Absolutist Imperial Monarchy. Whilst the Empire views an all powerful monarchy as the best form of government, the Empire can see that no such monarchal tradition exists in Ollieland, thus the Empire views your party and your leadership as that best suited to Ollieland and the needs of it´s people.
In the Empire´s view, Fascism is much more better suited for governence in Ollieland than either democracy or socialism/communism.
Given certain irregularities, like the sudden last minute surge in support for the ruling SPO at the end of the election and the current so-called Grand Coalition Government giving some seats to the CPP, despite them not winning ANY VOTES AT ALL. The CFP won 35% of the total vote yet now has lost 0.11% of the share of the vote because the ruling SPO regime takes votes away from your party to prop up their CPP ally.
All of this and the violence against your party during the election campaign by criminals from the Communists, means that your party has been at the end of an oppresive offensive against it by the ruling gang and their thugs.
This election still gave you and your party a victory yet the ruling regime stole the election and denied your movement the power it so justly desreves.
The Empire of Kravania is willing to help you stage a military coup to take what is yours by right of virtue, power and government.
The Empire can offer the CFP the following:
Money
Propaganda resources
Satellite imagery
Weapons
Military training
The Empire could also offer it´s own agents and special forces for such a coup d´ etat.
Upon the coup d´ etat being successfully executed, the Empire of Kravania and one of our protectorate nations, the Kangde Empire, would grant your new Fascist Government full recognition and diplomatic support.

OOC - ALL the parties lost 0.11% to try to inject some realism. Out of a population of nearly 3 billion it is unlikely they would not recieve a single vote. This adjustment makes no alteration to the final result.
ICC - Dear Kravanians,
I would rather die than be seen as a traitor to my country. We fascists will do our utmost to oppose the new centrist government in both the Congress and the Senate. We will not take up arms against our fellow countrymen, and would in fact join them against any foreign aggression. We have passed your message on to the Ollish security services (the Colonial Police Force and the Colonial Intelligence Agency) and would urge you not to contact us again.
