sIc: Once the boarder patrol had dispersed, the plan was put into action. Using data on the Taledonain FTLi obtained through old Kazeci records and passive scanning done during the arrival of the boarder patrol, a passive scanning device was created and fine tuned to detect the Taledonian FTLi field and measure its properties. Using STL stealth drives and under heavy cloak, the Kazeci frigates began to seep throughout the empire. When one found an FTLi station, it would sit with it, piggy-backing on its FTL jumps and following it. Years the Kazeci had had to plan this, years to develop the technology, years to build up the assault force. Now the time had come and the plan was set into motion. Not only was the cloaking nearly perfect, the Taledonians had no reason to suspect it. Nearly a hundred cloaked frigates lurked in the empire, each using passive scanning to stalk a station. The date rapidly approached.

"What the..." muttered Smith as his computer registered some unusual signatures. "Hey Mac, come check this out!"

Another man walked over to the work station in the cramped little control room, "What's up, Son?"

"We're picking up rifts in the field, nearly a hundred of them. Distortions in the field, defect maybe?" asked the operator timidly.

"Mm, maybe, but let's not take any chances. Have the other stations reported anything similar?"

"Yes'sir. All of them are registering the rifts, and they seem to be following the stations, even after the jumps."

"Send a full report to Taledonian Command, have it patched right through to Taledon. Send out a squad of fighters to intercept one of the rifts, perhaps up close we can get an idea of what they are."

Minutes later, a group of three TF-20s flew from the small station hanger and headed towards the closest rift.

"Fighters in-bound, sir."
"The time is not yet here. Another hour before execution."
"Sir, we'll be exposed, we need to do the exposing ourselves."
"Very well, the others will detect our actions and follow through. Ready point defence."

As the fighters were approaching the 'rift', the frigate decloaked. Its menacing form was positioned directly in front of the main visual scanner. Within seconds of completing the decloak, it fired. Two heavy plasma torpedoes slammed into the station, one from each side of the frigate. Next was the HLIC, positioned right in the middle, it issued a crippling blow toward the station as the ship backed away. Point defence fire blazed from over 100 mini turrets at any one time, aimed at the three fighters. And if any of it wasn't enough, the torpedo ports began to open.

The FTLi field fluctuated, the sign of a dieing station. The other frigates picked up on it and similar events began to occur in a hundred different places across the empire's boarder. Shock and awe.

The first station blew, but the others had been monitering them closely, and on seeing the first hits strike, made a random jump to five different locations, feverishly trying to compensate for the loss of the first station. Everyone knew now, the Kazeci were here.

Within seconds, groups of three starships appeared at all the Kazeci frigates, powered up their shields and began opening up. Turbo lasers and energy cannons lashed forth, spewing the deadly energy rounds that could rip objects to shreds in mere seconds, and the humming of the torpedoes as they flew forth from their tubes, followed closely by the compliments of fighters and bombers which now sped out of their respective hangers, engaging the pitiful Kazeci frigates, and weary incase they should launch their own fighter compliments. Soon, the others would arrive, and if it was not already, the intrusion would be pushed back from the Empire's borders.
