What Have We Got Here? Uranium! (Open to MT or MT/FT Nations)

James Cartwright scanned the field with his eyes as he walked around. This would be the perfect site for the new combat airbase that President Keith Johnson had ordered constructed. In all of James' odds and ends jobs, this was his favorite. He loved to stroke the shrubbery in the field that was destined to become a base of operations. Peace. That was a wonderful thing in James' mind. Peace. The word rang with incredible power. Peace. How wonderful it seemed today. Peace. It was almost more powerful than war...

Or is it?

The rocky ground was a wonderful location, deep in the heart of Geneticon. 30 miles east of the capital in the Gesru district. It was the ideal location for a sapce shipyard and airbase. The recent creation of Geneticon's airpower made the need for such a base all the more important.

Peace. He was obsessed with the word.

Suddenly, a gleam caught James' eye as he walked the field. That's funny... a white powder. The rich color seemed out of place in such a peaceful and mundane enviroment. It looked almost like powdered sugar from a distance. James took his time approaching the material. As he kept his eyes flashing back and forth, he realized that the powder was all around him. And indeed, it wasn't quite a powder, but a white color built into the face of the millions (or was it billions) of tiny rocks on the face of the field.

"What have we got here?"

He stooped to the ground and looked at the substance. Could it be? It wasn't possible was it? He had seen this before, though from a much safe enviroment. Geneticon had several plants for making use of this substance, and James had visited a few in his varied line of work. From everything from nuclear power to dental health, James Cartwright had experienced it. And he had experienced this before.

"Uranium!"

He stepped back from the radioactive substance and slammed the radio on his belt. "I got something to report."

Message from Geneticon to All Nations:

Greetings brothers and sisters of the world!

We happened to come accross a large quantity of uranium today by mere chance, and we have found that there is so much that we don't even need it all. This happens to be weapons grade uranium, and it can be enriched to provide nuclear power, or weapons. We fully intend to use the substance for only defense purposes.

Consequently, because of our large find we are able to sell the uranium. If you are interested please contact us.

Thank you.

Subject: Uranium

We saw the advertisement for uranium recently discovered in your nation and decided it may infact be time for this corporation (ASI) to invest in foreign imports of the mineral. The Democratic Imperium of McKagan is an expansionist nation so we'll probably be able to turn a major profit with them when we start pumping out next generation nuclear power plants and a few million nuclear warheads. It would be much easier for us to do the whole project ourself than subcontracting it to other companies. Before we start making purchases, however, we'd like to get an estimate from you as to how much uranium is in this deposit and at what price you'll be selling it. We very well may be interested in the whole cavity. Would it be possible for us to make a major investment and just buy the mining rights from you?

The Democratic Empire of Cravan is highly interested in this find, and wishes to purchase the majority of your stock. However, we must know how much is for sale and how much it costs.

Message to Both nations:

Thank you for the interest you have shown in this find. We have just only recently discovered the mine, and we can tell you it is a massive amount of uranium. In reality, we have not even found the end of it yet. We cannot even estimate how much uranium is there because there is so much. As for prices, we will determine that soon. Also, please indicate whether or not you would like the uranium enriched by us (for a fee of course) or cheaper and you can enrich it yourself (if you have the means to do so).

To Geneticon -
The Maryland Mining Company, a mining firm in The Beltway, wishes to purchase rights to mine a portion of the find. How much would it cost us to purchase rights to mine one-twentieth of the site? Thank you.
Sincerely,
Matthew Parkinson, President of the Maryland Mining Company

Heh, we can enrich it ourselves, thank you very much. However, if possible, we are also interested in purchasing mining rights to a portion of the deposit.

We can enrich the mineral ourselves. We simply need it in the first place.

Message to Cravan and McKagan:

Very good...

Message to ALL nations:

ATTN: We have figured the cost of our uranium, and at the present moment we are willing to sell uranium starting at $150 USDs a pound for unenriched, and $250 USDs a pound for enriched.

We ARE however willing to strike a deal which could signifigantly reduce this cost. What do you have to offer?

Furthermore, we have thus far discovered over 3 billion pounds of the substance, and the mine keeps going. This is BY FAR one of the largest uranium pools discovered in a long time.

We are willing to buy, as a first purchase (expect some more), eight tons, unenriched. That would come out to $2,400,000.
