Welcoming a distraction from the well-trodden ground of that particular argument Ridhi had turned back to Yukiko.

"We were wondering if you could check some of our computer translations of texts...because they look good, but we don't know if they can be trusted."

"i might as well do it while i'm here" Yukiko replies knowing she's the only one who knows the language here.

"Well, this is one of the first examples."

She brought up a screen of text, showing the translation given by the program.

"It makes sense, we aren't sure if it's the original meaning however."
"This is the original."
David had found the relevant document and brought over his screen for comparison.

Yukiko scans the original kirisuban text and seems happy that they've got most of it nailed down in the translation.

"the computers got the rules for contexts nailed down but it still having problems with certain words. some kirisuban words don't have a fixed context such as Ikimas which can mean I, we or you go depending on the context of the words around it" she replies.

"on the whole the computers done a good job"

"That is wonderful news. Do you think you could talk to some of our tech people, help them 'nail down' some of the contexts?
After all, there will never be enough Kirisubans here to help all those who wish to use this information."

"Sure" Yukiko replies adjusting her glasses "the workings of computers aren't my thing but its always good to learn new things"

"Well, the idea is you won't be doing the computer stuff, that they'll do that. Tomorrow, possibly? Would that be ok? It's just that we'll have to go over to the university computer lab at the heart of the project, which is some way from here."

"tommorows fine" Yukiko says and they work on until lunchtime discussing and investigating various questions based on the beginning of the Incognitian-Kirisuban alliance.

by lunchtime Yukiko's hungry amd wonders where she can get some food and coffee.

"Ahhh!"
Ridhi sits back and stretches.
"Lunchtime I think. David's going to play squash...aren't you, Dave? But we can probably go to the canteen, well, if you want I mean?"
David nodded, and went to get his bag and head for the gym.

Yukiko smiles and says to the woman "I'd like that" and taking her handbag with her follows Ridhi to the canteen.

The canteen was busy - as ever - with workers from all parts of the archive site. Everyone from the builders refurbishing parts of the building, stoking up on a full dinner to the professors working on finer points of their theories over a sandwich.
"There's quite a wide selection of food. The lasagne is usually a safe bet, though the sandwiches are good if you want something smaller."
Ridhi took a tray and a plate, and began serving herself from the hotplate with lasagne.
When she reached the end of the line, she handed over a few Nescia for their meals, not sure whether Yukiko had any cash, and found them somewhere to sit.

also going for lasagne Yukiko paid for lunch and also got a cup of tea.

when she sat down she slipped off her jacket and took of her glasses rubbing her eyes.

"Tough morning already, huh? Sometimes I think my life would be easier as a builder..."
Was Ridhi's comment as she tucked into her lasagne.

Yukiko smiled and left her glasses on the table sampling her lasagne.

"I'm used to working long hours back home and four hours of sleep usually does me. I can't figure out why I'm still tired" she replies.
