Ramillies Class Trimaran Pocket Battleship (BCN-64)

The Ramillies-class BCN was designed to fulfill the role once held by the long-retired Chimera-class battlecruisers by rapidly responding to situations around the globe and supporting force projection of the Aequatian Navy. Thanks to a trimaran hull and improved nuclear propulsion systems, the Ramillies-class vessels can accomidate a larger air wing which aid while on operations. Its hull armour is similar to that of the larger Aequatio-class BBCN (Which in turn is based off the original armour design of the much-feared Doujin-class BBCN) which provides the ship with improved protection compared to older vessels. The same tumblehome form which was first introduced on the Newbiggin-class DDG was improved for the Indomitable-class and it still effectively returns a much less defined radar image, although its size still makes it far from undetectable. As with all modern Aequatian warships, the bridge and main combat systems are protected against radiation and electromagnetic damage within an armoured citadel around the core of the ship and acts as a second armoured belt to protect ammunition magazines within the hull. Full automation of many systems, including loading and radar systems, has led to a reduction in required crew numbers, allowing the Indomitable-class to have the smallest amount of crew ever seen on an Aequatian battleship.

"I feel bad for you, who must be stuck in the dark ages of 1940s American naval gunfire optics, to believe that."

Anyway Aeq - nice ship, excellent picture (you drew that? pop into lineartinc (http://s13.invisionfree.com/lineartinc) to talk to many other NS players about drawing), one thing though - are those American sensors I spy ?

I don't mind at all, in fact, this ship was inspired by one of the older Doujinshi Corp ships.

Perhaps if I was using guns that were produced in the days of the 1905 HMS Dreadnought. With modern computerized fire control systems, improved ammunition and guns (electrothermal chemical instead of conventional powder) and a stable gun platform, the twenty four inch guns potentially have a range of up to and including 100km.

They're all real-life systems except for AN/SPY-3 Multi-Function Radar (MFR) when I developed it a while back before the DDX-1000's information was released and the AN/SPY-3 became a real system.

Sorry to hijack, but Aequatio, please check your TGs.

Very nice ship btw. When I get more money (and a proper navy) I might buy a few.

Are you exporting this design?

I'd suggest that you simply scrap the powder charge deal for the main guns, and use massive electromagnets to propel volleys over 475km with repeatable accuracy. It's like a huge machine gun!

Aequaitan Military Industries is not selling the design to other nations although Arrio Heavy Manufacuring Corporation is willing to construct them for other nations.
