Emperor Franz Joseph announced permanent conscription order to bring the Austro-Hungarian Army to 200,000 men. He also announced that while all agreements had been made to create a seperate Austrian and Hungarian armies, this plan would be dropped in favor of a unified army structure named Imperial and Royal Army that would give their alligance directly to the emperor. He also announced that the official army command language was to be German though all officers were expected to have a basic knowledge of Hungarian and an understanding of any other language that his men may speak.
In what many call an attempt to appease the Hungarian government, who had been the most adament about seperate armed forces, Emperor Franz Joseph appointed Kázmér Tánczos, former commander of the Hungarian Army as chief of staff for the new army.

Greetings from the Sublime Porte. We wonder if you are interested in the purchase of much of our Balkan territory. We are willing to sell Serbia, Montenegro, Bosnia, Herzegovina, and more.
OOC: Look at the map in my factbook (after clicking the link scroll down to the second map). Although Serbia is autonomous, it is not yet independant, so I can sell that. I will also sell all of the orange colored territory, minus the Greek portion, which I do not own. In fact, I will sell Albania as well.

Unfortunetly at this time Austria-Hungary lacks the funds to pay for such a large purchase. We thank you for you kind interest but at this time must decline. We sincerly hope that in the future Austria-Hungary and the Ottoman Empire can work together.
His Imperial and Apostolic Majesty Franz Joseph I announced today plans to greatly increase the current amount of train tracks in Hungary and its administrative territories and to dramatically increase the quality of other transportation methods across the Empire. While no additional plans were announced, this is widely seen as a part of the Emperor’s plan to fully unify the nation. This move was praised by the ruling coalition in Hungary’s parliament. However they expressed concern over the motives behind such an action and promised that they would make sure that Hungary retain all freedoms promised to them.
Beloved Queen and Empress Elisabeth Dies!
Empress of Austria and Queen of Hungary, Elizabeth, beloved mother of our great nation passed into the arms of God yesterday, giving birth to a son, Franz Josef II of Austria. Married to His Imperial and Apostolic Majesty since 1854, Franz Josef II is their fifth child together. While His Imperial Majesty Franz Josef has yet to make an appearance of statement since her death, he is said to have been deeply shaken by her death. The Official Funeral will be held in five days in Vienna where she shall be laid to rest in the Imperial Crypt.
Emperor Franz Joseph to marry Hungarian Princess!
It was announced today that our beloved Emperor Franz Joseph would once again marry, several years after the unfortunate death of his first wife Elizabeth. Rumors had swirled around his relationship with Zsófia Esterházy, daughter of Hungarian Prince and major Hungarian Politician for several months though no official comment was ever mad by either party. While citizens are overjoyed by the news, some Hungarians are decrying the marriage as a shame, with Zsofia’s uncle going so far as to claim that it “is only another attempt for the Austrian Monarchy to further quite down those Hungarians, Zsófia’s father included, who wish to see the rights of the Hungarian people assured.
Austro-Hungarian Military Command announced today the creation of an elite unit who was to be made up of the best-of-the-best from the Austro-Hungarian army and navy. This elite unit would be charged with protecting Austro-Hungarian interests on the high seas and on land.

Brazil asks for the lease of a single Austro-Hungarian port to house the unarmed Brazilian Humanitarian Forces. As an added bonus, the doctors in the unit would be happy to help any citizen of Austria-Hungary in need of medical attention. No more than and 500 men would be allowed in this port, so Austria-Hungary need not fear for her security.

Austria-Hungary would be delighted to participate in this great humanitarian endeavor. Austria-Hungary offers the use of the port city Pula for this end. In fact, Emperor Franz Joseph offers the use of the Royal Guard to help protect the Brazilian Force when deployed and offers to personally pay for the purchase and upkeep costs of the Brazilian owned facilities in Pula for the first three years.
Future Queen Zsófia also expresses interest in Brazilian cooperation in creating an Austro-Hungarian humanitarian group and even perhaps an international humanitarian organization that would help those in times of need across the world.
ooc: Zsófia is going to be big into the humanitarian-type endeavors so if you need help towards that end, look no further.
Queen Zsófia!

Emperor Franz Joseph married Zsófia Esterházy in a private ceremony in Budapest, a first for the Royalty that has traditionally married in Vienna, the official capital of Austria-Hungary and home too much of the Austrian royalty. Whether this is a radical shift in the royalties priorities or an attempt to passive Hungarian dissent remains debatably however it is clear that with Franz Joseph’s marriage, powerful pro-Magyar voices such as Zsófia’s father, Bela Esterházy will have much more of a say in the government. Following the honeymoon, a whirlwind tour is planned for the couple as Zsófia has a planned tour of Austria-Hungary and Franz Joseph has plans to tour much of Europe and much of the world as well.
In response to the rapid destabilization of the region and due to the mobilization of Russian forces, Austria-Hungary has begun to mobolize its 200,000 man army and has begun to call up reserves in case they are needed. A majority are send to Austria-Hungary's south-western border thought the Russian border garrisons are also strengthend.
